Dudley College of Technology receives mixed feedback. Several reviewers describe friendly, helpful staff and a good learning environment, while others report rude staff and poor organisation. Some reviewers say they received good support and teaching, but others report no support for students with special needs or mental health difficulties. A few reviewers describe communication problems, including missed or unclear information about courses, results and car parking.
Good place to learn
The car park is an absolute joke!! I have paid my money to park in the broadway campus for the year and i am denied access to the car park because of ‘visitors’, there was still a lot of spaces available yet i am denied access to the car park although i have paid for a parking permit. Disgrace. This has happened way too many times and the college year has just begun. One of the car park workers is very rude he is a tall bald black male with glasses and is very rude. As i couldn’t park in the car park which i have PAID to park in i was forced to park elsewhere which has led me and many other staff and students to get parking tickets. Absolute disgrace.
It’s a nice place tram and bus transport easy to access
Worst college ever. Full of rude staff and they never know how to organise things! Wasted a whole year at this college and Im now glad I’m in a different college with better staff and better environment. Would never recommend this place.
GOOD
Confident
The manager of electrical is a joke, far below an academic standard as others say. They don't have the hearts to educate, they just treat students are prisoners, and trying the best to discourage your confidence.
Good college well organised very friendly staff
Awful! I recently went to this collage for L1 & L2 hairdressing and now can’t do L3 due to there lack of communication! Had one teacher tell me one thing and another teacher tell me another thing! I went to pick me results up and spoke to a teacher about the situation and all the teacher did was talk down to me. Completely disrespectful and lack of communication Do not recommend this collage at all
I am extremely disappointed with how unfairly my son has been treated by the teachers and the wider team at Dudley College. He enrolled on what we understood to be a two-year Buisnes level 3 course, achieved 98% attendance and passed every unit completed during his first year, including receiving a Merit. His official Pearson record confirms that he is eligible for the first-year award, with no failed units. Despite these results, the college has refused to allow him to continue into the second year. It feels as though the teachers and the whole team are playing with a young person’s future instead of supporting his education and recognising the effort he has made. It has affected his self confidence and increased his anxiety. A decision this serious should be based on clear, published progression requirements and objective evidence—not personal opinions. A child’s educational future should never be treated so carelessly. Disgrace.... not a place for education!!
Dudley College of Technology is a solid choice for further education. The staff are supportive, the facilities are modern, and they offer strong career pathways and apprenticeship programs. Overall, it provides a great environment for practical learning and personal growth.
Currently 2 out of the 3 years into the Level 3 Healthcare Engineering Specialist Technician apprenticeship at my workplace, with Dudley College being the training provider; provided long distance over teams/SmartAssesor. Abysmal all round and would never recommend to others or interact with again once the course is done. Constant chasing up of webinars, the setting of assignments, feedback of assignments, the marking of assignments, our future schedule of webinars going forwards, how many OTJ hours are meant to be completed in the complete duration of the course etc. The issues are quite literally endless and at this point it feels like im organising the course for myself. The past few planned webinars on our schedule haven't even been spoken of until I enquired about them being missed, so I've just requested the workbooks to complete off my own back as truthfully even when the webinars happen, the content provided is of low quality. Our cohort is currently on our third assessor as the previous two have left their roles/ the business entirely. The one star from my review would probably be attributed to our current assessor as she seems to be firefighting the issues on our behalf. Others in my workplace that are on shorter courses/ started theirs before me have also experienced reaching the end of the active learning part of their course and thus submitted their portfolios for their end point assessments only to be kept waiting for months on end with no communication before being able to complete said EPA. Beyond frustrating now in every aspect, to the point I'd happily be willing to jack in the past 2 years of work to be shot of the place. Cannot understand how they continue to take on cohort after cohort when they can't have their ducks in a row for the ones they have currently. Absolute 0 structure or planning to the course seemingly which is bizarre as supposedly we're the 7th/8th cohort of this course alone.
Best college and brilliant teacher.
Met the staff for opening day,and they bent over backwards to help
It's a hostile environment run like a gang. No matter how smart or ambitious you are, this place is where your potential goes to die. I don't' recommend it at all
Good learning place & location to hangout 😃
Highly discouraging atmosphere. While the administration is actually good and professional, the faculty members operate like a toxic gang and a mere herd, rather than following academic standards. No matter your level of intelligence or dedication, they will only bring you constant discouragement and frustration.
If you have big ambitions for your future and want to see them ruined, as happened to me, Dudley College is the place to go. Even the brightest students won't survive there. The teachers act like a gang and will bring you down no matter how smart you are
Fatima Club
Nice and conducive environment for learning
Absolutely don't recommend if you have special needs as myself having autism they never give you your accommodations what you need never ever think your gonna get extra time because you won't
Shocking, waste of a year! Lecturer didn't know how to teach, sacked him and now no Lecturer at all!!!! Ruining kids lives and prospects. The whole course has failed and still they don't care. Please do not send your child here. On paper it looks fantastic, in reality shocking. Never known anything so awful!
Awful college. My son took engineering level 2 during 25/26. He had an awful lecturer who didn't have a clue hiw to teach. Some lessons, he didn't have a lecturer for. This was addressed in February, 5 months after the start of term. The whole class failed exams in February. SLT promised to sort it out. At the time of writing this, he still doesn't have a lecturer for some lessons. The college are happy to take students to get money and then not bother teaching them. They have badly let my son and his class down
Always a pleasure fantastic place to study
I've studied 3 qualifications here now at Dudley college and have been very pleased with my tutors and courses
awful place. no support system for struggling students or help at all. useless teachers and the courses are just as bad, after my first year i moved to halesowen and its a much better environment in every way... avoid dudley college and just pick halesowen instead, trust me
Tried calling this college a number of times through the last few weeks and keep getting cut off. Not sure how it branded the best college when you can't even speak to anyone.
This college is awful they told me off for wearing a pair of black and white converse when everyone eles in the class was wearing them they reported me for sh when the scares where 4+years old and they kicked me out for having mental health issues and kicked me out the same week I got sent home and had a ambulance called out because I "wasn't attending" when I have alot of health and mental health issues" and they discriminated against me for having a disability where I can't hold top heavy things with out pain 1 of the tutors also used to make comments on my weight and told me everyone would leave me if I didn't gain weight (I had a severe eating disorder at the time ) so please be careful with sending l your children there because I'm not the only one who has gone through this at that college
It was very busy
Very good place nice people who will help you 👍
If you struggle with anxiety or depression or any of the sort, I DO NOT recommend attending. They say they will offer you help but don’t do anything. I have bad anxiety but tried my best to keep attending as much as I could which I explained to them over a phone meeting that they asked for due to my attendance in which they said they could offer counselling or a note for the doctors so that the doctors could take me a bit more seriously instead of dismissing it as teenage hormones or laziness. No one ever came and spoke to me about anything after the phone call and with having anxiety it is hard to confront people. Due to my attendance being so low, they decided to cancel my digital bus pass without warning AFTER I had already attended college for the day (the woman I spoke to for help said to me they had no obligation to tell me OR help me since it’s my fault and I should’ve known) leaving me with only one option of getting home, which was having my boyfriend meet me by bus and pay for my fair back. So now that I don’t have a bus pass, which is the only thing I can use to get there since I cannot afford bus fairs, I am now no longer attending which has left me devastated since there is only a couple months left until my exams which I have been been working hard to pass. I truly have never felt so upset to not be able to attend a place of education, and would usually feel relieved, but I really have tried so hard this year. I wish there was more I could do other than leave a review that will most likely not be accounted for
I attended this college in 2023 and left within a week as I couldn’t stand being there. My partner attended this college from 2023, he did a business level 3 and got kicked out for having a single week off due to bereavement of a very close family member, they then put him on a business certificate course of which he settled to, they then put him on a contract where he couldn’t have a single day off from college, all because he was with his family member in hospital for a week!!!!! He finished this course June 2024, it’s now almost February 2025 and he hasn’t received his results. He’s called over ten times, with no clear resolution in sight, just “we know you’ve passed but we don’t know the exact grade” He has constantly been chasing this up since August when everyone else received their results, and yet still no resolvement. Wouldn’t recommend this college at all. A disgusting lack of sympathy and unhelpful at the best of times.
Good college ever love it 10/10 :)
Fantastic
After sending my daughter here she had nothing but issue after issue with 2 girls after complaining to staff the problems got worse turns out the teacher must have had the hots for one of them please don't send your children here they will be wasting there time and education honestly they would be better off in the dole than go here
Dudley College of TECHNOLOGY?!!! What a joke for this name!! Few weeks ago I sent an email in enquiring a former student info, who studied during 2004-2008. After few days later I got their reply, saying they can’t help as they only have former student record since 2017!! Come on DCT!! How much money does our government spent on!! This is 2024 and I am very curious in what kind of TECHNOLOGY education does this college is providing to our young people!! I feel shame with this college so badly!! PERIOD!!
Applied Science department is great! Sukhwant Rai is one of the top teachers. Excellent teaching, continuous support and in line feedback. Students are well prepared for internal and external assessments. Post course progression statistics are excellent, with students either going to university or employment within the science field or related fields.
Nice place
😀
If you have special educational needs and disabilities do not come here as they'll give you no support at all what so ever
Pleasantly surprising I've been at this college for 7 and a half months now and it's honestly terrible 😔 I'm always being targeted for no reason and there always have a go at me . Staff am terrible - they don't understand you The toilets look like prison cells and absolutely stink So please people don't send your child here
It okay but it depressing and boring sometimes the staff can be polite it depends on there mood. Monday the teacher are moody. Fridays all the teacher care about is going home .the toilet stink people don't know how to flush a chain and the support is good unless u don't listen like me
Library staff are so rude. Horrible way to Speak to a student
Enrolled yet again.
This college got me into the university of Birmingham to study law with their business course, I had anxiety previously going to king Edwards dropped out and the teachers were nice and understanding here, good teaching methods, and support.
Been there a few times over the last 50 years. As an adult student it’s fine.
👍
Absolutely fab! Came to enroll my son after leaving school, very helpful and informative on what’s to offer, enrolled that exact day and found staff helpful and friendly. large building and access for wheelchairs, car park and if you have. A child with special needs you can receive help here too. Fantastic! Definitely recommend this place.
Engineering course was heavily misdelivered, they changed the course to a manufacturing course to make it easier & the teaching staff were vastly underequipped.
A bit dated but 100% focused services
Good college with knowledgeable teachers and plenty of student services
Excellent for learning purposes. Very kind teachers and so friendly staff.Impressive educational methods and well organized the administrative system.Admirable maintenance.Complies with almost all the new Time 's requirements.... Thanks Dudley College for giving me so much,,Good luck.
Best College in the West Midlands with a Outstanding rating

I'm on a two and a half Care work course and enjoying learning all there is to know about looking after people in care and in their own homes They are very helpful and friendly there ,I've given them five stars as it's a good college to learn at .
Staff very pleasant great courses available
Wasn’t too keen on Dudley college too many naughty kids that had been kicked out of school
Thanks Micheal Killin for teaching me English.
Did my Advanced Accounting here twice a week on the evenings, there are excellent night courses and part time courses for those of us who are working or have a house to run, the cafe is great and staff are lovely. It's probaly a mad house I the day !!!
Pathetic excuse of a collage very unorganised and not even the staff know what they are doing they ask us (the students) what we’re doing when we don’t even have a clue and give us exams a week before with little to no warning and time for preparation and a concerning lack of staff and knowledge and we have been messed about from day 1 if you want to waste 2-3 years of your life and learn next to nothing come here to dudley collage
It was HOT 🥵
The staff are very friendly and helpful and have a good security for the attendants and not have random folk strolling in
I love this college it has helped me achieve my dream of becoming a MacDonald's worker! thank you so much. also Eric Heartly fight me 1 v 1 and you can bring Colin and Martin as backup. you know who I am
Good ballroom and sequence dancing with foina and friends. Hope to go again soon.
Dudley College is a tranquil environment & a relaxing place to study staff are very palight!!

Love these 2 trees 🌳😍
I’ve done my Maths and English GCSE here, Miss Simms and Mr. Madeley were very nice teachers who helped me to get where I want to be... also the guidance teams as well are very helpful
very good staff
Gteat shop shopkeepers so friendly they know my usual order it means alot very diverse family
Trust me not worth the time or effort
Great football pitches
It good to study at
Not for me I have saw better but that's me not all may think like me
Excellent staff very helpful
dudley college staff are disrepectful to student and lie about you being bullied and asaulted and have favourite in the groups
Too many people in the classroom, People pay money for the course to make sure they pass , I don't think the teacher is gonna have enough time to spend with each one of us , I think it's a waste of money in my opinion, they shouldn't put that many people in one classroom, not happy about it
my daughter phoned this place and asked for a reference which was required for employment...whoever she asked said NO because she didn't finish her course (due to health reasons) how disrespectful and inconsiderate....waste of time place full stop
ez pass
Done a IT Course here not great pc's considering it is 2GB of RAM, The Broadway facilities need revamping but they have spend a lot of money on new buildings nearly every year where they could of used the money on revamping Broadway and better pc's for IT Students doing Flash with the mighty Azhar.
Somehow this part of the college seems to run slower than the Evolve part. It took a while to enrol but it’s defiantly the best college for me.
they are a pile of doo doo and you shouldnt join waste of time
Me and my wife did a course here about 15 years ago called Clait1. Learning Microsoft Word, Excell and Data Base. A useful new skills that has helped us with many projects and letters over the years. Definitely recommend 10/10.
It is more cooperate style overall, staff are really good however management is quite poor in dealing with request even after their recent outstanding. I am guessing it is due to the staff doing more work rather than management benefiting from it. Shame about class sizes becoming much bigger than in normal FE but again can see that it is poor management techniques. Support staff are like marmite, either excellent or really poor but the lecturers do make up for it. Do not understand the separation of the different campuses as same modules/subjects are being taught by different staff, looks like inefficient structure. Overall very good college, but still needs improvements.
WORST ever! I did NVQ level 2 with them in May 2015 and still don't have my certificate. I have called so many times I cannot even count - they either don't answer or do not return to my messages. I guess they are just hiding. Now have to pay again for new NVQ course. Find another place and don't waste time and money with them.
Dirty full of bullies and dirty tramps and chavs
The staff here are incapable of understanding that they can be at fault for students not doing well, in my first year here they blamed the entire year group for bad mock exam results suggesting that students should revise for 3 or 4 hours each night despite how little time this would leave them to eat and bathe between travelling to and attending college and revising.
I think the College is very overrated, Not very good facilities in Broadway, Food is overpriced and not organised on Exam results and recieving letters in short notice to come into College to take a exam or do some daft booklet in a classroom. Some poor members of staff and students that get away with their behaviour. Not Outstanding in my opinion.
New building with new machines and equipment!
Good 👍🏻
Friendly staff, help is available although sometimes can be a bit delayed.
Principal lowell williams almost killed me by threats from his solicitors even sent the police around on trumped up allegations. He even got this lecturer here Eric jackson who calls himself a christian to make up things. Awful staff here.
A proportion of the students appear to be gang affiliated peddling drugs. Check out the nearby priory ruins and park for all the break time cannabis use.
Very, very rude ipoint staff. Very unhelpful. Just terrible. At least from my understanding and experience from the last 4 years as a student.
one of best education institute been to
Great college
Friendly atmosphere. I can wait for another course :)
Everyone looks so young and am surprised how they are not finished school yet
Great Institute & great time I spend there.
Great and friendly staff, support and help when needed. Best ever.
Really very good college. I would like to visit and study in this place.
