I've recently had panels & a battery installed by DES & I couldn't be happier. They weren't the cheapest quote but they weren't the most expensive either. As the system is a significant investment for me I wanted to be sure I picked a local, reliable & professional installer. A cheaper cowboy outfit offered to turn up (without a survey or DNO in place), chuck them on the roof & (no doubt) disappear. DES have been incredibly professional & thorough from pre-sales right through to installation & completion. Lovely people to deal with. I couldn't have had a better experience & can highly recommend DES. From the solar output figures I'm getting my bills are going to be tiny!

Accurate diagnosis of problem with roof mounted SolarEdge PV system. Scaffold contractor appointed and scaffold erected 1 day prior to service repair. Two new optimisers fitted and system returned to full operation. Installer polite, pleasant and efficient. Kept informed on process for service and administration very helpful. Highly recommend DES.
Firstly, DES were recommended by Solar Sherpa. I contacted three companies that were recommended by them and then spoke to their sales teams in detail. After speaking with Richard at DES, I felt most confident in the advise, level of detail and then specification that he gave. They listened carefully to what I required from the system and then produced the full specification. DES were not the cheapest. I didn't want cheap, I wanted good value and to know that what they were saying would be delivered. The survey was carried out and the paperwork done. An installation date was booked and was kept to, despite it being a blisteringly hot day. The three man installation team worked tirelessly all day from 7.30am to 6pm in order to complete the job in one day and leave me with a working system. Even at the end of the day, when I had to have a tutorial on how to use the app, there was no suggestion of rushing to get away. It's been a busy summer for solar installations and I know DES have been extremely busy. One item was on back order from the supplier, again because of demand, so an electrician had to come back to revise the system finally to complete. This took some time, but credit must go to the office staff who handle the bookings, it's been a difficult summer and yet they retained total professionalism and an positive attitude despite having to juggle various issues. I have had a 16 panel and three battery system installed and I have paid nothing but the standing charge to the electricity supplier since the installation went live in June. We've also been running one electric and one PHEV car totally from the solar over this heat wave. I can't mark DES down at all, despite a bit of a wait for the out of stock item to be finally fitted. It's a five star service and they really care. Their technical support was excellent on the one occasion that I've had to contact them too. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone thinking of installing a solar system.

The scaffolding was erected just four days before installation and we were advised it would remain in place for around two weeks afterwards in case any adjustments were needed. The quality of the installation and equipment has been excellent, and we're already delighted with the performance of our solar panels, battery and EV charging setup. What has impressed us just as much has been the after-sales support. Like many people new to solar, there is a learning curve when it comes to understanding the apps and getting everything working together in the most efficient way. Whenever we've had questions, the technical support has been outstanding. Mikey has been absolutely fantastic, helping us optimise the settings on our Zappi EV charger and guiding us through the battery settings to ensure the whole system works together as efficiently as possible. Nothing has seemed too much trouble, and his advice has been clear, patient and incredibly helpful. It's rare these days to find a company that not only delivers an excellent product but also genuinely cares about making sure you get the very best from it after installation. We had a great experience with DES Renewable Energy from start to finish. At the quotation stage, everything was explained in detail and I felt that a system was being designed to actually reflect our personal use, the type of roof and orientation of our house. The realistic generation potential and also the downsides were also explained. I felt that other quotes we got were simply package deals offering the exact same equipment every time. Richard, the designer was very prompt and patient in answering queries. The pre-installation survey process was very comprehensive. I was asked where I preferred all the equipment and cable runs to go and the installation process was clearly explained. During installation the team were excellent. Both Brandon the roofer and Ross the electrician did a brilliant job and were tidy and professional throughout. Ross did not leave site (despite it being late on a Friday) until the entire system was commissioned and confirmed as working by the remote monitoring team. A few small teething issues were quickly resolved. DES were not the cheapest quote I had but I feel the truely bespoke system plus their professionalism was worth the extra. Highly recommended.
DES provided excellent service throughout our whole experience with them. Conversations with the system designer, Darren were extremely helpful in explaining what would work best for our situation. Emails were promptly answered in detail. At no time did I feel pressurised into making a decision. Information about what would happen during the installation was sent in good time so there was plenty of opportunity to be organised and fully aware of what to expect. The installation team were fantastic, roofer Steve, electrician helper Rhys and main electrician Spencer. They worked in a very professional manner being respectful of our property. They arrived each day on time and were extremely busy throughout the two days. Spencer was very patient explaining the running of the system and setting up the two apps (PV system & EV charger). He mentioned on numerous occasions that support is only a phone call away and not to worry asking a question that might be deemed simple. Friendly, professional and highly knowledgeable about their products. I would not hesitate to recommend to others considering installing a solar and battery system.
Excellent service from start to finish! I hired DES Renewable Energy Ltd to install a Zappi EV charger at my home, and they did a phenomenal job. They arrived right on time, walked me through the optimal placement of the EV charger, and completed the installation quickly and cleanly. Had solar panels, battery and matebox supply installed by these guys and from the start they were the most helpful- no high pressure sales just advice and the sort of advice that came like what they would do if it were their property. I was 'that' customer that asked a lot of questions and it was handled professionally and courteously the whole time. This is a firm that has been around a while doing electrical work not one thats spring up to jump on the solar bandwagon so these guys have a background in the important bit- and that shows- the install team were extremely professional and took a lot of pride in their work.
Outstanding from start to finish; from having an in depth consultation to physically having the system installed. The system has been quietly generating over the summer months (and in the sunny winter ones too). Gone is the stress of leaving the hot tub on or forgetting to switch a light off at the end of the night and getting fleeced by the energy company . Highly recommend DES Renewables! From start to finish, the experience was excellent. Richard walked us through a detailed, tailored proposal and answered all our questions. The surveyor arrived right on time to plan the layout, and the communication throughout the process was fantastic—we always knew exactly when scaffolding and installers would arrive. The installation is incredibly neat with minimal visible cabling. The 4-part payment plan was very straightforward, too. As a huge bonus, the installers noticed our vallex needed a repair, allowing us to fix it while the scaffolding was already up, saving us a ton of money. Professional, honest, and highly recommended!
Great service from DES, from the first phone call through to install and service. The design phase was really professional and we didn't get the hard sell you get from many companies. They came out and looked at our property before confirming everything. They then kept us updated through the whole installation and the team that came out to wire and put everything up were excellent. Scaffolding all down a week later and everything working like a dream. Would definitely recommend.
Thank you to DES for a seamless install of our new solar set up. The information and advice provided beforehand by Darren and the team really helped inform our final decision. The scaffolders, Steve, the roofer and Jack, electrician were efficient and a credit to the business, the install of our 15 panel and Tesla Powerwall 3 system only taking two days, working perfectly as we speak. Very patient as it’s a bit of a minefield getting 5/6 quotes and trying to see who is giving best deal but I also saw their reviews which were very good. I opted for DES Renewables based on my past experience with the company, having my previous installation undertaken by them. This time after an in-depth discussion I selected a 25 AIKO panel, GoodWe GW10k Inverter with 2 x GoodWe8.3 batteries, a total of 16.64 kWh storage system and I could not have been more pleased with my choice. Having the installation undertaken during May 2026 I find myself some 24 days later having only drawn 1.6kWh from the grid and having fully charged my car twice during this time, far better than I had accounted for, due to this I am already of the mindset that I shall be purchasing a further 16.64kWh storage in the very near future. If you are in the market, don't be fooled by adverts on Social Media that promise the earth for very little, trust a real installer that will be there for you years later.
The knowledge the team has is fantastic, they really help to map everything out clearly in the reports which many of the competition struggle to do in the same way. We had a couple delays for the electrics but after a follow up, the team delt well with the issues and shared my frustrations and resolved the issue promptly. I would recommend them as the are great value for the investment made.

Very helpful staff when ever I called them. And very patient with me working out what solar panels, batteries and inverter to have in my Sigenergy system. And as we had a problem with our roof which had to be fixed before we could have the solar panels fitted. This caused a small delay but worked out well in the end. On the day of the fitting the solar panel fitters started at 8am and the electricians were just a little later and they all got on with there work, and checking with me where things were going and how it was all going to work. The two electricians were very good with the care they took in all their work which I was very impressed with. After they finished the install they ran me through the whole system and how it all worked helping me with the app and telling me if I had any questions after they had gone to contact the technical dept. I would recommend DES Renewable's to anyone thinking of having a solar energy system.

The came out and fitted the panels on the 1st day which was a very easy process on the second day they did all the other work fitting the battery and invertor and completing the wiring which was a very neat job the installation was a very professional job Would highly recommend DES they put no pressure on you at any time during the process

Can't recommend this company highly enough. Did exactly what they promised when they promised for the price they promised. Easy to deal with and very responsive to any calls or queries. Ive had the instation for three years now. It was estimated that the instal would pay for itself in eight years, in fact its doing better than that. The only thing I would change would be to have another battery. But it was my choice to have just one.

A great experience throughout. DES fitted our solar panels and battery system. They took care of the whole process, survey, install, commission and registration. Everything went smoothly and all trades turned up as scheduled and were pleasant, prompt and efficient. (The Roofers even worked in the snow!) Very happy with the install.
Couldn't fault them. In comparison with the well known energy suppliers, DES answered all the questions and we were able to speak to a single point of contact at each stage. For those starting on the steep learning curve from a very low knowledge base, as we were, it made life a lot less stressful.
From the initial quotation and technical explanation of the possible options through to the site survey, installation and commissioning DES were very professional. One reason I chose them was that they are not a one man business. They have staff covering different aspects of the project. They kept me informed of the progress.

All round great service. We initially installed solar without a battery (that was a mistake) and increased our cost. We then had further help from Andy and the team to add back a powerwall 3. I was quite specific about how I wanted the cables run, to conceal everything and Jack did an amazing job in the install of keeping as much as possible concealed and I'm really grateful for his hard work in doing so. I have already and would highly recommend this company.

DES - did an in-person survey and squeezed the biggest solar panel system possible on to our roof which all the others who only surveyed using Google maps said wasn't possible. The Solax kit has been reliable. Only negative DES use independent roofing and electrical contractors for the installation and if there are any problems they throw it straight back to the contractors - so get to know these guys, make them cups of tea - just in case!
Richard has created 3 proposal and answered all my questions. When install time has come, Jack, Spenser and Brandon has done splendid job, super efficient and quick.the roof work - Brandon and Spenser done it in no time and it looks great. The cabling was done by Jack - very neat and done exactly as I asked for. The unit required remote firmware upgrade, so Jack stayed back to make sure it’s all perfect and demoed it to me. Thanks guys. Super. 100% recommend. Left same review in trustpilot. It’s rare experience now days - to get job done quick and to the high standard. so should promote these guys.
After extensive research and quotes from four different companies, I decided that DES Renewables Ltd were the right company to fit solar panels and batteries for my house because: 1) Sales manager was very knowledgeable & had detailed information about when and where the sun would hit my roof 2) Darren patiently answered all my questions as we discussed various options over a couple of weeks of emails and phone calls 3) There was absolutely no sales pressure 4) DES does not use subcontractors ( apart from the scaffolding and roof repairs ) I had solar panels on my last house ( new build) so I knew a little bit about household solar energy. DES seemed to want to tailor the best system for my home & tactfully explained the pros & cons of various alternatives so I could think about it & make my own choices. I’ll update this review once the system has been fitted in a couple of months. Update :- DES have continued to help me sort out the problems with Octopus Energy moving me to the Flux Tariff. Once the system is correctly registered with Octopus, I will be moving to a different energy company. Octopus has taken 4 months to switch my account to a solar /battery tariff, & still has not completed the process ! DES supplied the correct with MSC certificate & SSE registration information, but Octopus insisted it was incorrect for 3 months…& then said it was correct !!!!

Very good communication from the beginning. Project was completed on time and the installation team were great. I was able to ask questions as we went along eg location of battery installation. I found this company after reviewing several. I felt they offered expertise and experience. They were not the cheapest but conversely not the most expensive either. During the install very slight damage occurred to my garden which once DES became aware of was rectified immediately. Also I had an initial problem with charging, DES sent a team and found the issue and made good straight away. I am very happy with my install and the after market support given.
DES were great, we had an initial meeting which was a couple of hours on an evening where they answered all of our questions. Once we decided to go with it, we had constant updates, and a contact all the way through. When it came to install, our electrician they provided happened to be sick on the day, but they kept us updated and got someone else within 2 days. They even gave me step by step instructions on how to work with the energy company to get the export up an running. Would definitely recommend.

The electrician Jack and roofer Brandon turned up on time despite snow, ice and freezing temperatures, they got the install completed on time and were very polite, helpful and tidied everything up once completed. We got helpful and sensible advice regarding the type of set up we would need. The hardware and software system is great (and all seems to be working very well - we are generating even in December's overcast conditions). Order processing was efficient as was obtaining the necessary authority to generate. All staff at DES are friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The survey, scaffold erection and subsequent system install went smoothly - DES were very flexible in adjusting the instal date due to last-minute probelms we found with our roof. There are so many companies to choose from and it can be very daunting to know who and what is best - I am glad we went with DES and would thoroughly recommend.
12 solar panels were installed along with 2 batteries and inverter. The scaffold, installation of the panels, quite difficult wiring and installation of the controls and batteries were all carried out in a professional manner and all staff were most pleasant

Super helpful talking me through the options beforehand. Accommodated a last minute delay to my roofing work by rebooking and installed everything when they said they would. Can't fault them. The system is working nicely and making a decent dent in my bills even in winter.
Jason and the team at DES installed a new Victron system for me. They worked very hard ahead of time to design a well balanced 9kw system and the prep work paid off with an incredibly smooth 2 day install. The on site crew were professional at all times and made short work of a complicated install. A few minor niggles on the way through was inevitable but they were all resolved quickly and courteously. DES were helpful and communicative throughout the quotation and design stage. The system choice fits perfectly with our needs and the price was very competitive against the market. Couumincation continued to be good leading up to, and following installation. Install itself went smoothly, with roof works completed in a morning and a couple of days for the excellent electrician (Rob) to connect everything up. Rob's install included setting us up on the GivEnergy portal. Great experience overall and have already recommended to others.

The service and support I received from DES Renewable was second to none. From my original enquiry to the final installation they helped me all the way. When I first started to look into solar power i spoke to a number of companies, in most instances, apart from DES, I was dealt with buy a call centre, then all i had were phone calls trying to push me into their system, most times there was an additional discount if I signed up there and then, very pushy. DES never tried to push me into a deal, they answered all my questions, provided professional advise. The survey, installation team and office team were very good.

I would highly recommend DES Renewables for solar panels. They were very informative in explaining how all the installation process would be. If there was a delay they always called at 9am and informed me to save waiting all day. If I needed to talk to someone it was not a problem and the workmen left everything clean and tidy.

The whole process from getting the initial quote, then having the survey done and finally getting everything installed was very efficiently and speedily undertaken. Fantastic. Right from the start, Oliver was open and honest about the process of getting solar panels and honest about the potential financial implications. By that, I mean, he said it might not be cost effective. Therefore, he showed us projected energy income/outcome and we were then able to make an informed decision. We’ve had them about 6 months now and my bills are less than they were when I include the loan payments for the panels. The only minor negative, out of DES hands, would be the third party scaffold company who made a right mess of our garden and kept changing the date. Other than that, I’d wholeheartedly recommend going with DES renewables if you are considering solar.
It's early days but I have to say I am unsure why I didn't do this many years ago... Oh yeah because of cost. DES have transformed how I view electricity usage. Excellent service from start to finish. We purposely looked for a company that had a good reputation to start with and as DES had completely numerous school, council buildings and other large projects went with them - everything ran on time and were kept up to date from ordering to delivery and install. We’ve had our system nearly 18 months now and even when a breaker switch was playing up DES were on site within 24hrs and replaced foc. Would recommend and would certainly use again.

I have to compliment the service I have received when DES installed Solar Power to my property. My 3-storey property only has electricity for power which means that heating is expensive when powered solely from the grid. The DES Sales Team understood the complexity of the issues faced and made a proposal to maximise the impact Solar could make to my bills. The survey engineer made no changes to this proposal as it was a good solution. All in all, these guys should be contacted when considering Solar Installations.
Supply & Fit Solar Panels I found DES to be a good company to deal with from start to finish. The quote process was very easy. They use satellite imaging to locate your house followed by a telephone call to discuss options and your requirements. No sales pressure whatsoever. Competitive pricing. All administration carried out by them efficiently. After Network approval, installation scheduled promptly. Installation and commissioning completed over three days. We bought a house in Weymouth with a view to completely remodelling it. As part of that process we decided to have solar panels installed. From the word go DES were great. They explained all of our options to us and, once we decided what we wanted, everything that was going to happen was made very clear to us. We finished up with solar panels and a storage battery. They fitted the installation in around what was happening with our builders and changed the schedule where necessary when there were the inevitable delays with the builders on a project of this size. Now we have moved in we like the fact that we are doing something good for the environment and very much appreciate the money we are saving on our bills. For a lot of the summer we are not only not buying any electricity but we are actually making a small amount by selling any excess we generate back to the energy providers. The aftersales service from DES has also been great. Any issues or queries we have had have been dealt with quickly and totally to our satisfaction. DES recently fitted us a 5kw solar system with 20kw battery storage and a Zappi car charger. DES were brilliant from the word go with our requirements- a complicated roof configuration, and a specific budget in mind. Ahmed provided multiple iterations of the quote to show us different illustrations and how to make it work best for us. Once we had agreed on the system, and paid our deposit, the necessary steps were fulfilled quickly and easily and we promptly received the scaffolding and fitting date. The roofers and the electrician Jack were brilliant, their work was so neat and precise and they completed on time with the system being commissioned with no issues. Had a solar battery fitted and pigeon guard around previously installed panels. communication from start to finish was excellent. All documentation required dealt with by DES and provided as a pack. Managed to keep existing FIT set up they way they fitted it. Shown how to operate the FoX app. Pigeon guard was fitted well and as scaffolding was in place for a few weeks previous to the install I was able to repoint the back wall and clear out the gutter. Would definitely recommend them.
DES kept us well informed throughout the process and were able to accommodate our request for an extended period of scaffolding to allow some separate roofing work to be carried out at the same time. Always quick to respond to emails and we had a very clear and informative handover of the system explaining the app and next steps we needed for our import and export tariffs. Would recommend.
Very impressed with the quality of my installation. Richard from the sales team was able to answer all my questions regarding different potential systems before placing the order. The survey and installation was carried out as planned with no issues and the system is performing as predicted. The only minor issue I experienced was that I had to chase up the office a few times to confirm that they had received my interim payments. Maybe an automatic confirmation email would help in future. Otherwise a very satisfactory installation.

I found DES very professional from the start and glad we chose a local company rather than one of the many nationals. We were kept informed although we did experience some delays due to the weather. On completion we did have an issue with the inverter but DES worked to resolve this to our satisfaction including replacement of the Inverter. Special thank to Matt from Technical support who worked hard to resolve our issues and the system is now working perfectly and export is setup ready for sunnier weather!

I had existing 4 kwh solar panels but no solar batteries. I recently bought a 10kwh hybrid car that qualified me for the off peak rate with Octopus energy for 7p per kwh. This made having battery storage fitted a good idea to utilise this off peak rate. I contacted several battery providers who were advertising on Facebook and Google and received quotes for 10 kWh solution’s for around £5k. A lot of these companies don’t install the systems themselves but farm the work out to 3rd party installers. Fortunately I attended the Garden Show at Broadlands Romsey and was first attracted to DES Renewables stand by a sophisticated solar panel cleaning robot they had on display. I left them my details and shortly after a technical salesman turned up. He left a very good impression with my wife and I. He was highly knowledgeable and was able to answer technical questions directly and confidently. He immediately sized up a system that pushed all the buttons for me - 20 kwh system with 15 years guarantee which would provide me with future proofed energy storage for running the car and all appliances in a 4 bed house for a fraction more than the other suppliers were charging for system’s half the size. On this basis I went ahead with the system which was installed by their friendly and approachable engineers who did an excellent job in installing the system over a couple of days. DES Renewables are an electrical systems installation company with 20 years of experience with qualified electricians who have been trained to professional standards in solar installations with experience in solar farms as well as domestic installations. This all added to my confidence in the company. I am now seeing a drastic reduction in electricity cost already having slashed my monthly direct debit from £152 per month to £45 per month which includes the standing charge. I am very happy with the service I received from this company from initial technical sales consultancy through to system installation and can thoroughly recommend them.

A great company. We have had excellent advice and guidance on the installation of solar panels, batteries etc for our Church Centre. Excellent value for money and whole sy stem is working very well. They also advised on the installation of an EDDI system to allow the panels to feed power to the immersion heater.
The true test of how good a company is, is when things don't go according to plan. We had a very professional installation of our solar/battery project, which was preceded by great service from the sales and survey side, helping us to decide on the optimal configuration of our system. The scaffolders were very polite and efficient at put up and take down. The elctrician who installed the system was excellent and did a very neat job. After installation, there was an issue with the set up, meaning that things were not working properly, however, the technical team worked diligently to get it sorted out, even though it took another site visit and contact with the manufacturer to do so. All in all a very good service from a company I would definitely recommend.
A great experience with DES. Came to us through personal recommendation, and happy to recommend on to others. As non-experts we needed a company to take us through each step, DES were perfect at this. Richard took the time to talk through options after his initial design - and revision after the DNO balked first time round - made it easy for us to make a decision. From then on everything move more rapidly than we expected. Alex really helpful with advice when he came to survey, and scaffolders, roofers and electrician (Kaylum) were all thoroughly professional and a pleasure to have working at the house. Speedy follow up after completion with MCS and DNO letters arriving just over a week later, alongside a full set of instructions. All in all, great service and a very happy customer.

I selected DES after being let down by a previous large national solar installer. DES picked up the project suggested a different approach , completed the DNO G99 approval without needing to restart it and implemented a great ground mounted installation to integrate with my existing 2011 Solar setup. I now have my existing Fronius 5KW inverter + 6.5 KW panels, plus new 7.3kw panel ground array, Solis Inverter, Givenergy 3.5kw A/C coupled inverter and 2 x 9.5kw Givenergy Batteries. Plus a Givenergy car charger. To save money on the project we agreed I would do the ground work and lay the armoured cable to the "garage" where all the new kit and existing Kit would be housed. DES were very flexible as to the installation date as the weather was pretty awful and delayed some of the ground preparations. They did a very good job with the installation going above and beyond to ensure it was safe and a professional finish. The system works extremely well and allows me to monitor all of the solar, which is something I could not do on the old system. If you want a solid reliable company with excellent pre and post customer support. I cannot recommend DES enough. A+++

DES have recently installed a large domestic PV solar and battery storage system for me. These are my thoughts. Once you start to make investigations, it doesn't take long to realise that choosing a company to plan and install a PV solar system is a potential minefield; the more you gain an understanding, the more you realise you don't know. If I was asked for advice it would be to educate yourself as much as possible regarding all things solar beforehand- YouTube is a fantastic resource, check out GARY DOES SOLAR- lots of no nonsense, impartial advice ranging from the very basic to more advanced topics. SOLAR AND BATTERY UK Facebook group is also a wealth of information. There're a lot of sales led companies out there, all keen to provide a basic PV solar set up, competitive price and fast turnaround, for some this is no doubt exactly what they are looking for. I wasn't. My project was always going to be a challenge, not necessarily from a technical perspective but more the requirement to co operate with other on-site trades, the co ordination of timescales, and working with a discerning, inquisitive client who sought perfection. DES met, and in some instances, exceeded my hopes and expectations. My personal experiences included: Initial and subsequent communication with all members of the company, whether by email or telephone, was superb - as were after sales enquiries. Questions were answered promptly, accurately and politely. When additional time was required to resolve an issue this was explained to me, a time frame indicated and an answer forthcoming. From initial planning to final installation the level of technical expertise was clearly visible and well executed, as was the willingness to advise and suggest alternative options and solutions when required. Co operation with other trades and myself was always forthcoming. There was a willingness to be mindful as to how other parties would react, be affected or influenced. I am very impressed with DES and how they coordinated all the processes. The quote was bang on and had all the time in the world to answer questions I had. Once the quote was accepted the surveyor date was agreed and the installation began - The date for the scaffolded (Monday) was agreed, followed with the solar panels fitted (Wednesday) and the electrician (Thursday & Friday). All done in a week. The scaffold was removed a week later. The system was up and running and producing free energy that day - reducing my cost to the energy provider immediately. After a great deal of deliberation I decided to accept the quote from DES and have absolutely no regrets. The whole process was very professional - my queries and other issues were answered fully and promptly and even the scaffolder came to check one of the issues I had. The roofer fitted the panels on his own surprisingly quickly and the two electricians Reece and Jack did a superb job and reassured my wife about the working of the system. It has now been running for four weeks and during that time our electricity consumption from the grid has reduced to almost nil. The most complicated aspect was completing the online application to the energy supplier for our feed in of surplus power generated. DES gave me assistance with this and I would recommend them without reserve.
After receiving information and quotes from various solar panel providers we accepted DES Renewable Energy's competitive quote. They were very helpful in providing us with information when we needed it. A survey was completed giving us confidence in proceeding with the installation and in drawing our attention to other ways we could update our electrical equipment and reduce water heating costs. The wiring, batteries and inverter were installed with proper care and attention after we had discussed where they were to be be positioned. We took the electrician's sensible advice on where to place them. The solar panels were installed quickly despite the wet weather and the system was up and running well on time. All the DES employees were happy to seek our confirmation as to the placement of cabling etc and carried the work out professionally. Following the installation we have been able to use the phone app to track the details of how the panels are generating electricity and the level at which the battery storage rises and falls. This guides us on how to best use our electricity. We would happily recommend DES to others planning to install solar panels.

DES Renewable Energy installed our solar panel system and we were impressed with their service and products. We also liked the fact that they are local and all their people (apart from scaffolders) are directly employed . We needed planning permission and they provided all the info they could apart from scale plans. All the team were professional, friendly and helpful. Our solar panel installation was great from start to finish. Easy and stress free. All staff from the office workers to the actual installers were all polite and extremely helpful. The installation was done quickly and cleanly, especially the electrician who was working in the house, constantly cleaning up after themselves, you wouldn't have known they had been here, any small hiccup (more to do with our property than there installation) was dealt with quickly and professionally. After care has also been great, quick to reply to emails and only a phone call away to help with the technical side of working out the app etc. Cannot fault this company in any aspect of there work. We had an excellent experience from start to finish. They were friendly, knowledgeable, patient and efficient - be that the office based staff, the pv installation engineers, the electricians or the Back up Technical engineer. An initial problem with the technology was quickly resolved by the Technical Engineer who came out late one evening to put things right. Everything has been working smoothly since and it's great to be finally generating our own energy having waited for years to be able to achieve this. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
An enjoyable experience every step of the way. There was no hard sell just a presentation of the facts and common sense answers to any questions. The scaffold team turned up on time, we’re very polite and friendly and the scaffolding was up in a morning and down a week later with no fuss. The roofers broke a tile but replaced it on the day and the electrician connected it all in a morning. There’s not a lot to write about really they did everything they said they would in an efficient and professional manner. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone thinking of having solar panels installed.

From the first telephone call contact we had with them whilst trying to decide which companies to get quotes from to the final part of the installation everyone we interacted with were very professional and attentive to detail. Our initial thoughts were turned into reality with excellent design work and the installation teams both on the roof and inside on all the "electrics" continued to the highest of standards. The ops and support side of the organisation are also slick which when taken overall makes for a cracking company to deal with. Excellent company - we decided to have solar panels fitted in November 23. After doing much research, we decided to enquire with DES Renewable Energy. Following a very detailed quotation and explanations from Richard, there was no pressure on us as we then made our decision. We liked the fact they were a local firm and all the team worked for the company rather than outsourcing .There was great communication throughout, they were very quick to set up installation date, and the whole team were very friendly and helpful. DES were absolutely fantastic with my solar and battery installation. From sales, survey, installation and now technical support they've been spot on. I would say I have been a bit needy but they have been able to assist fully and explain things brilliantly. Well worth a quote if you haven't already had your installation.
We stumbled upon DES whilst researching installers of solar systems and they then made initial contact. After a call to establish what we were looking for and the type/layout of our property, two different systems were quoted for and, based on the information provided and the good reviews, we chose DES to install one of them comprising of 14 panels and a battery. Any queries that I had were answered quickly and a physical survey (after the initial Google Earth one) was arranged. This confirmed that all was well for the install and we discussed where to mount the invertor, battery etc with the surveyor. There then followed a gap when permissions etc were obtained etc. before we were given a fitting date. The dates were confirmed the week before and agreed. The scaffolders (sub-contracted) did not arrive when agreed and I contacted the DES office half way through the day. They got back promptly and gave a delay reason obtained from the scaffolders and arranged for them to arrive the next morning (Sat). The scaffolding was erected efficiently and the 'roofer' from DES arrived the following Tuesday to start the roof install. He managed to fit all of the framework for the panels but stated that it was too windy for him to fit the panels on his own so he, and a colleague, would return the next day to fit them. The following day the electrician arrived as planned but the roofer did not. The electrician established that the roofers were not in fact coming until the following day so he would do what he could and would also return the next day to finish off. On the third day the electrician arrived as planned but the roofers were absent until mid-afternoon (by which time the electrician had run out of jobs that he could do). The roofers spent a short amount of time fitting the solar panels and disappeared again to another job. The electrician was then able to finish off and carry out a system handover before leaving. Finally the scaffolders returned a couple of days later, a bit later in the day than expected, and took down the scaffolding. I am left with a neatly-installed and efficient solar set-up, as planned, that I am happy with and the process was relatively smooth. I am still awaiting the necessary paperwork to arrange a feed-in tariff from my supplier ( which I understand is delayed by the power supplier in my area) before it is fully commissioned. The office staff, Darren, Andy, Brenda etc., Surveyor, Alex, electrician, Matt, were all very helpful and efficient and the roofers worked hard and efficiently but the timekeeping/communication (possibly due to too much work taken on) could have been better. Taking the above into consideration I would recommend DES, although not the cheapest, for the general installation and products used.

Our solar panel and battery installation was completed two and a half months ago. We had previously been put off installing panels by sales force led companies. DES Renewables have provided an excellent service throughout. We met the company for the first time at a local show. The initial site visit to explain and sight the system, and to talk through the installation process, was calm and measured, with no attempt made to force us to commit. We received a detailed and informative proposal upon which to base our decision; the payment plan was simple and logical. Once we had accepted the quote, a further visit took place to sight the internal and external elements in detail. The scaffolders, roofer and electrician all attended as planned and were polite, efficient and tidy. Any questions we have had since the system was commissioned have been answered promptly and efficiently. From start to finish, there was good communication, excellent choice of quality solar equipment, detailed planning and professional service. Everything was handled by the company and nothing outsourced, all inhouse which gives peace of mind with one point of reference. The fitters and electrician were excellent with everything explained so you could understand. We went for the battery storage option which is fantastic because since we completed three weeks ago we have paid no electricity (apart from standing charge) as overnight the battery feeds the electricity into the house and as long as you get good daylight, sun not always required, the batteries charge up extremely well , even on a dull day. The technology in the new panels is excellent. Certainly consider the size of the battery you think you want and discuss it with the team at DES. I would highly recommend DES for solar panel installation, everything was super smooth.

The installation went well with the guys doing a good quality job on the roof and inverter/battery system and offered good advice. I contacted DES off the back of a social media advert for solar panels. I’ve thought about installing them for years, but always talked myself out of it as a 15 year+ wait for ROI never stacked up. However, costs have risen significantly so I reviewed the impact of solar. Andy from DES was super professional, timely and listened to our needs and set up. He produced a proposal which walked us through our current position, a projected 20 year journey through typical energy price rises & then the rollout of a solar system, and how that would influence our future bills. It was brilliant. Obviously you expect during sales for the company to show how amazing the system is and how much money you’ll make but what I liked the most was the realistic figures used. He took in to account Solar wastage (export), different production levels throughout the seasons, and the fact we’d be operating without a battery. We decided now is the time to commit. We are in our forever home & our roof space is substantial. We went for a 21 panel system, bringing us 8.5kwh energy making possibility. The surveyor came out and measure everything up & checked for any barriers or potential problems. In the interim, Andy took care of applying for our DNO. A few months later we had all of the approvals, scaffold went up and work began. The solar panel installer Brandon, was brilliant. Hard working young guy, professional, and did a great job. Following the panel install was the electrician, who was also fantastic. We had great rapport, quick set up to make the panels go live and a nice handover including access to an app that lets you see what you’re generating at any given time. After paying our final bill we started to receive our certification, which is what you need to get access to export guarantee which enable you to get paid for what you export. Throughout, communication has been top class, problems solved, and I never felt as if I was asking for too much. If you’re considering solar, I would 100% recommend speaking with DES. Fantastic company, great people and you’ll be well looked after.
From my initial door-step discussion, thru planning and system selection, post-install questions, and acquiring the necessary documents for our SEG application, the DES Renewables team have provided expert, unbiased and quick responses through every step of our installation journey. Scaffolding was put up and removed in a timely fashion, the panel installers were polite, efficient and ensured the site was clean and tidy before leaving. Additionally, even though located on the front roof aspect, the panels blend in well with the house and against neighbouring properties. The Sunsynk electrical plant is located in the garage, and all external and inter-connecting cabling has been fitted with care, and sympathetic to the external and internal aesthetics of the house. The electrician also took time to ensure that we understood what was being installed, where, and why, and that our preferred install options were taken into consideration where appropriate. The complexity of the install should not be underestimated, and the electrician remained on-site until well past normal finish time on both days to ensure that the system was fully installed and working as expected, and that we had installed, activated, and understood the workings of the physical components and the Sunsynk monitoring app before leaving site. A software/battery anomaly was identified during the first nights operation, and the electrician investigated and went out of his way to return to amend the Inverter settings the following morning to resolve. Although the plant has only been operative for the last month, the benefits and efficiencies of the system are working probably better than expected, and battery storage should be considered a must to maximise the solar generation and related financial benefits. In summary, the whole experience from sales to install completion has been a smooth and competent experience. DES offer a competitive price for the size of the system installed (12× 450w panels, Sunsynk 5kw Inverter, 2x Sunsynk 5.1kw batteries), with several configuration alternatives proposed, and no pressure to purchase. Based on our install experience, we would be happy to recommend DES as a supplier of choice to anyone considering a solar install within their supported area.

We were really impressed with our whole experience from start to finish in our dealings with DES Renewable. There were no hard sales techniques and the whole quotation process was very easy. My queries were answered in full and there was no pressure to complete, we were given the time and space to think things over before we committed. I found pricing was competitive. All the administration was carried out by DES and after Network approval, installation scheduled promptly. I was particularly pleased to see that all the work was carried out by their own staff and not sub-contracted out to different people. After obtaining several quotes from various companies, I dealt with James from DES who gave me a completely different option to any of the other quotes, it suited our needs better than any of the other companies options, the quote was a little more expensive, but I ended up having 14 450 watt Eurener panels and 9.5kw battery. Other companies seemed to want to do the standard 10 panels and a small battery, this wouldn't have worked for our needs. Installation was on time and very neat, the installation team explained everything. The after sales was fantastic, all my paperwork came through quickly and they helped me select the right tariff with my energy provider. I would recommend this company whole heartedly.

Everyone at DES was very helpful at every stage of the process. When undertaking a project like this you naturally have lots of questions and they were all answered patiently. The project design changed a few times due to space constraints and the team redesigned the options accordingly. All of the staff on site were very pleasant and we are very pleased with the installed system.
Overall it has been a good experience dealing with DES to have my solar panels and batteries fitted. I liked the way this company retain/pay their own staff and do not subcontract any of the work except the scaffolding. They are probably not the cheapest company out there but you get what you pay for in my opinion. There were a few hitches along the way but they were overcome and dealt with in a quick, helpful and positive way. The initial design stage was very good and Darren provided very quick and comprehensive replies to my questions and responded positively to my requirements. Josh the roofer and Mat the electrician both did an excellent job. They were both very helpful and went out their way to find solutions and rectify the problems encountered. One of the panels had to be replaced due to a manufacturing fault which was done quickly and with a minimum of fuss. A minor negative point was the batteries supplied were not the ones specified in the design and hence not the ones I was expecting. This was because the original batteries were not available but no one informed me that different batteries were going to be fitted. The office based staff have also been good in responding to my queries. I have received all the necessary paperwork & certificates. The whole process from start to finish took just over a couple of months and was well organised. At the end of the day I have been left with a good, well installed solar system for a reasonable price. I would certainly recommend this company.

Solar Installation with Battery. All work was carried out on time with due care and attention. Had to make a couple of spur of the moment decisions so lesson learnt make sure you ask lots of questions about the routes they are going to use to do all the wiring to the fuse box and the need for ethernet connections. Suggestion: ask to see the plan of work and confirm its possible when the survey is done. Assumption made was that there was crawl space all the way round the roof to the fuse box and this was not the case. I liked the fact that the scaffolding went up a week before enabling me to clear all the gutters and the flat roof. Turnaround on the paperwork on completion also quick so one is able to start the process of gaining funds for excess electricity. Overall a good job and well organised. Thank You
I chose DES renewable Energy Ltd. for a SOLAR PV and battery instalation after contracting with another company (Daylight Energy Ltd.) and waiting for 6 months only for the company to go bust and disappear before installation. The Surveyor Andy was most professional and very attentive he would call me periodically to offer help and advice which was top notch, he was honest and wasn't pushy, he called when he said he would and if he didn't know the answer he would find out and come back to me, I really felt valued as a potential customer. Andy even called me after the install to check how things went, he is a credit to the company. Dealing with Andy and DES was a breathe of fresh air as they made good my experience with a solar PV and battery installation, the first appointment was kept and there were no issues on the days of installation apart from a delay with the scaffolding but this didn't have too much impact on the install as it was still completed in time. Luis the electrician was very knowledgeable and did a quality job as did Matt the roofer who spent the time to go around and clean the panels thoroughly after install. After having such a good experience this time round with DES I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them as I have done with two of my neighbours have shown an interest in the install and I have strongly recommended DES to them for a no hassle, quality experience and install.

They also have a good company history within the electrical industry which also aided my decision. They answered any questions we had, and the installations when very smoothly. I contacted DES Renewable Energy Ltd as I wanted advice about the possible installation of a Solar Panel and Battery system for my property. They provided a first class service in providing me with different option to consider. I decided to proceed with the installation of 25 panel 10KW system with 13KW battery storage. Everything happened as and when it was supposed to and the installation and Workmen/Electricians were all very professional and curious. I can't believe how well the installation has gone and I am now probably self sufficient in electricity. Time will tell. When writing this it's April 2023 and I am generating anything between 15KW and 40KW a day which this month has averaged or 25KW per day. Plenty enough to run the house and by plug-in hybrid car 13KW a day. I would highly recommend DES Renewables if you are considering installing Solar Panels and or Battery storage. The solar array installation was done to a high standard. Although there were problems, these were rectified as soon as possible and at no extra cost to me. The only (slight) issue was a lack of communication regarding when the engineers (etc.) would be arriving etc.
Responsive and positive action to offer plan for Solar PV installation. Fixing and supplying energy in two days and scaffold, etc. (separate company) in and out in a week thus all round minimal disturbance for desired effect.
DES installed our solar panels. They are an excellent company, very professional and great communication. Very efficient with our panels being installed within a few months of initial enquiry. They even sourced the exact panels that I wanted. Very happy with the system which is saving us a fortune in electric bills. Really impressed with this company.
Great service from quotation through to installation with good communication along the way
I decided that we would install solar energy. After a lot of research I narrowed my selection to 3 companies. The only one that impressed me was DES. The initial telephone conversation discussed my requirements. I felt the consultant listened to me, and at no point was I sold anything. The design was totally tailored to our needs. A surveyor called within the week, if I recall correctly. Again, the surveyor listened to me, and we discussed were best to site the equipment. Time schedules were stuck too. The scaffolding went up on the Friday, before the installation was due to take place on the Monday. The scaffolding chaps were great too. The panels went up with no issue. The solar equipment installed. Really professional chaps from start to end. There were a few teething issues, which had I not picked up on, I think may have gone on undetected. This was due to the ‘eddi’. The eddi kicks in once the battery has been fully charged, to heat the hot water tank. It had not been set up correctly. However, DES were great, and all has been resolved to my complete satisfaction. I feel this is an honest company that believes in, and values its customers. I have no hesitation in recommending DES.
I contracted DES to install solar panels and battery with I boost in December 2022 (cheapest of three quotes). Got a call to say they would install early February 2023. The whole process was explained to me. Everything went to plan as agreed. The surveyor was polite and very informative. The team that installed the system were polite, very tidy and worked like trojans. The system is all up and running and I can see the savings already. My thanks go to the whole team and DES for making the whole process go so smoothly, and would highly recommend them for the whole process and installation.
I had a full Solar Panel Instillation DES were very helpful from the start. They explained every fully. The work was carried out on the day that they quoted and worked with me when I wanted a part of the instillation changed to a different inverter to take batteries. I recommend DES Renewable Energy Ltd.
From start to finish the installation of our Solar Panels, Storage Battery, Hybrid Inverter, Solar iBoost (hot water tank heating) and of course the Scaffolding, went totally to plan. The Roof Team, Electrician and Scaffolding was top notch; additionally the DES sales staff were so professional and really quick to respond to my many questions and requests for additional information. Nothing was too much trouble and they truly couldn't have been more helpful at every stage. So pleased with all aspects of DES Renewable Energy's proposal, contractual process and ahead-of-time installation. Highly recommended.

DES fitted our first solar panels and they are working very well. DES were very easy to contact and very helpful in answering our questions before we went ahead. The price was competitive and the whole installation process, including wiring for our battery, was carried out very professionally. They are a relatively small company but we think this is actually a strength because they provide an excellent personal service.
