After my original choice contractors ceased trading after the start of my solar installation project, I was left not knowing what direction to take. I contacted some local companies who had no interest to help. When I contacted Southern Solar and made an appointment with Billy to visit me. Quote was reasonable and he could come the following week. Came today and installed the new Solax inverter. Had it up and running very quickly and showed me how to use the app to monitor production. I was recommended Billy by a friend, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the service from start to finish. Having just bought my property, I quickly discovered that a lot of the existing electrical/solar work hadn’t been done to a good standard, which created a few challenges and uncovered some previous bodge jobs. Text Billy on a Sunday due to problems with an existing installation carried out by others. He communicated straight back even though I told him not to on a Sunday (very appreciated though) Arranged to come over the next day between a certain time. Text the next day to give me a more definite time. Turned up on time. Spent 3 hours dedicated to sorting out the problem with my batteries. I can honestly say that I have been self employed for 26 years myself and I'm always impressed when a tradesman acts like I have done myself with punctuality and a conscientious attitude towards giving the best service. I would not hesitate to recommend him and his company for all solar and electrical work in the future. 5 stars all around for this guy! Excellent. Billy installed a new inverter and batteries back in August all was working well until we changed our broadband provider to vodafone then we were unable to connect the solar to the router.I messaged Billy and he came round on his way home and spent a considerable time trying to connect and discovered that our new router was not allowing the solar to connect.I called vodafone technical and spent hours on the phone but they could not offer a solution, but we did manage to split the wifi into 2.4GHz and 5 GHz.Then reloaded the solar on the 2.4GHz and now we are back in business. Contacted these guys today for support at a clients home. They were professional, patient, full of knowledge and really got is out of an impossible situation. Whilst in sure many companies can fit solar systems, the customer focus shown buy southern solar and electrical today week make them my first call every time in the future.

Traveling from England to Wales to salvage a job that local electricians wouldn’t complete, I was fortunate to have Bill, Tom, and Dan. Having recently purchased a property in the Wareham area that needed some modernization and upgrade, one of the first items on my list was to look at Solar PV Panels. As with most projects of this nature finding a good tradesman can be daunting when you have to consider the levels of professionalism and skills to ensure you feel confident you will get the work you are seeking to the standard you are seeking. Billy is passionate about solar. Communication was excellent & clear throughout. He visited 3 times beforehand to survey our home both inside & out to ensure all cables, etc were installed as neatly as possible. He tweaked the original plan to enable us to have the maximum number of solar panels on our unorthodox roof. Billy & Danny were meticulous in their work in the house & outside - explaining everything they did clearly & checking to be certain we were happy at each stage of the process. Once the physical install was complete, Billy & Danny spent extra time helping us get setup on the GivEnergy app & website. They explained the various functions in great detail & also offered advice on potential tariffs with our energy company. Two very nice blokes offering a superb service, who I would happily recommend.

I recently had Southern Solar & Electrical in to quote for a solar installation and Zappi EV charger. Billy was very polite and courteous throughout the home visit and offered some priceless advice with what would suit our property best. Billy came back last week to fit the Zappi EV charger which was done very neatly with Billy asking lots of questions about positioning etc to ensure I was a happy customer. The job was done quickly and very professionally and I will certainly be inviting them back to fit the solar panels when we are ready to have them fitted. Brilliant service at a good price. What more could you ask for!

Our experience with Southern Solar and Electricals Dorset Ltd was a pleasure. We had rooftop solar panels with a storage battery installed. The quote provided (following a site survey) was sufficiently detailed (including Data Sheets) to be able to make an informed decision and was realistic. The products offered were of high quality and the product knowledge shown was exceptional. Importantly, Southern Solar are MCS Qualified and none of the installation work is outsourced. Communication was excellent and responses to enquiries extremely prompt. Billy, Danny and James are a great team and their work was first class. The team were professional and courteous from beginning to end. They were prompt and reliable and took great pride in their work. They were enthusiastic about the work that they were undertaking and their workmanship was first class, tidily executed with great attention to detail. Everything was explained as work proceeded with a detailed handover on completion. The site was left clean and tidy on departure. All certificates (e.g. MCS Certificate, NICEIC and Building Regs Compliance) were provided within twelve hours of completion of the work. We cannot recommend this family owned company highly enough. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

These guys are the absolute best! They came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Billy and Jimmy did an outstanding job, pure grafters, worked tirelessly installing our system and with such high quality workmanship and attention to detail. I had almost lost faith in solar companies after so many attempting to oversell and rip us off. From the beginning of this project they were very professional. We already had solar panels and only needed batteries and EV charger for our car. It was explained very well what would be needed and how long the fitting would take. They were very tidy with their work. There was a difficulty with the battery which was with the battery itself nothing to do with their fitting. They couldn't have been more supportive contacting the company on my behalf and keeping us informed. Even when the battery engineer arrived to sort out the battery they were here to make sure it all went smoothly. Thank you guys looking forward now to seeing what we save.

We used Southern solar & electrical gor our pv instalation following a recommendation from our son-in-laws father. Billy was very helpful in helping us understand the capabilities of solar pv for our location, West & North facing roof space, & managing our expectations. Our communication in the lead up to to instalation was really good & helpful, working with our existing commitments. On the day of installation the team arrived at 7:30ish & got on with the prep & access tower erection. Billy himself took the time & trouble to talk me through the instal & where the equipment would be located, where cabling would be run & when the power would be turned off (we had a laundry load in the washing machine). Throughout the day we were given plenty of opportunity to see the work in progress, declined the offer to enter our loft space due to mobility challenges so Billy took photos to show us. On completion we had a very detailed handover to help us get the best from our new system. We are very happy with the professional & caring manner of Billy & his team & are happy to recommend his company to anyone wanting a solar PV system at thier home, including neighbours & family. These guys were excellent. Billy, James and James installed panels, inverter and battery for us. They arrived prompt at 7:30 and were all done by 2pm. Great attention to detail for a neat and tidy looking setup. A friendly and happy team working well together even on a pretty miserable wet day in parts. Keen to make sure I was kept aware or involved in the installation decisions and gave a good overview and training session at the end. A pleasure to have them doing the installation. These guys came out at very short notice to fix my PV install and, despite running into many wiring issues left by the previous installer and an almost dead battery, got the job finished professionally and quickly. Everything's working perfectly now. Couldn't recommend them enough!
Excellent, do not hesitate to work with Billy and the team. You will get a personal service from an independant installer who who is committed to doing a great job that you will be happy with. We have an East West facing roof and proceeded with PV on both sides, we included battery storage and iBoost for hot water. Everything was installed with short lead time (10 days from order), all materials delivered in one go and installed on the promised day. Excellent communication throughout the process and Billy keeps an eye on how it performs after install to make sure all is working as expected. System performance is superb. We are so pleased we have arranged for further electrical work including car charger via Southern Solar; our neighbours are commenting on how neat and tidy the job is and already asking for Billys number. Having been let down on my install date, Billy and the team managed to clear space in their diary and come and complete the installation and cabling of the inverter and batteries of my solution. The team were quick, professional and delivered top quality services. They were also diligent and found some of the panels installed by the previous company weren't wired up or secured to the roof properly. Amazing friendly team and will definitely recommend and use again.

Fantastic job completed today. Billy and his Team travelled from Dorset to complete a full solar and battery system in Swansea having been let down twice by ‘other‘ installers. They arrived as planned and worked really hard to get the job finished to a high standard by mid afternoon. Unbelievable, 11 panels and 2 batteries installed in just over 7 hours, fitted to a high standard and fully commissioned. What a team, would thoroughly recommend these guys. Thank you. Chris.

I cannot praise Billy, James & Connor enough. They travelled over 4 hours after several let downs to complete a 17 panel, inverter and battery install after being let down by the original allocated team (not associated with Southern Solar and Electricals). They were polite, professional, and kept me up to date, every step of the way. The wiring was neat and they clearly take pride in the work they do. The install was completed in 7 hours and I was walked through the whole setup from inverter, battery, consumer unit, and a quick trip up on the roof to check out the neat installation. I even contacted Billy when they were on the 4 hour drive back with regards to my EV charger, and he responded with some clear instructions and pictures to assist me... going above and beyond! A great team. I just wished they lived closer so that I could call upon them for any other jobs I have. Thank you Billy, James & Connor!

Billy Sweeney's team came to install my solar panels on the 24 Oct 22. They were excellent throughout. They explained the detail of their actions clearly and politely. Their physical installation was of a very high standard. The company they were working for had failed to advise of the need for bird mesh and also failed to provide the battery. Fortunately the team were able to compensate in one area and offered to return when the battery was delivered. I am a reasonably hard person to convince to review as outstanding but they were! In a few words: efficient, polite, and helpful in every way. Well done to the whole team. I recommend them unreservedly.
Fantastic group, they did all the electrics and solar for my install. They were always open and honest and kept me informed throughout the whole installation. I was very impressed with the quality and care of the work carried out. The electrical cable runs were some of the neatest I have seen, made me very happy! The panels also went on super nice as well, super straight and inline with the roof.
My wife and I had an issue with our solar panels (fitted by someone else) and found Southern Solar through the RECC. It wasn't good news, as the inverter was broken, but the guys came out at short notice, identified the fault and fitted a new one within half an hour, despite this being right at the end of the day. The price was fair (we checked) and they were honest and up front about the work needed. After the job was done, they gave us some great advice about batteries without ever pushing us to buy anything. When we find tradesmen like this, we stick with them for good.
Billy and his team (James and Con) arrived promptly and did a really great job for us. They worked hard and completed a very large installation in a day. They were polite, tidied after themselves and were personable as they worked in and on our home. Above all, they knew what was required and their solar system expertise shone through as they carried out the work and explained what they were doing. They clearly 100% cared about the customer experience and the quality of the completed job. I highly recommend these guys in the confident knowledge they can be trusted and relied upon to do the work and look after you / your home. I am not related to these guys and am simply a grateful customer. I definitely will be calling on them to add batteries to our current system.

Billy and his team fitted our solar panel system. They arrived promptly, were polite and cheerful and worked hard to complete the installation by mid afternoon. All the work was extremely neat and to a high standard. I was given a thorough explanation and handover of the system. The commissioning certificates and paperwork were e-mailed through the next day. They are a great team who work really well together. I am more than pleased with the work they did and have no hesitation in recommending them.
Billy and his team did the whole set up for me, panels, battery, inverters etc. Brilliant is the best way to describe them, professional, accurate, a high level of detail and their level of workmanship is 2nd to none. My install was complete within a 12 hr period, Billy even drove 4 hrs back to base to collect some items the courier missed and returned to my house rather than make we wait a few days, over and beyond duty. You won’t regret using them.

Billy Sweeney installed a new meter and battery for our solar panel system. This had taken longer than expected (not Billy's fault) because of some missing parts. However, Billy completed the job effectively and we are very grateful for all his hard work. We would certainly recommend his company for future work of this nature.
