Barkwell have caused us constant issues in our new-build home. Time and time again, they have attempted to “fix” snags, only for their repairs to result in further problems or for the original issue to remain unresolved, requiring repeated visits. Barkwell had to return over 10 times for our en suite shower tals and still failed to resolve the leak properly!! In the end, a different company fixed the leak on the first visit, with no need for a return appointment. Bath waste was shoved into a space too small which resulted in cross threading and waste/plug sitting misaligned. Result = water leak and mould! They also used offcuts of skirting board to secure the bath panel 🤨. Obviously we used a different company to repair this damage. Speaks volumes about the quality of the workmanship we have experienced. What should have been straightforward fixes have turned into ongoing frustration, wasted time and a complete loss of confidence in Barkwell’s ability to carry out repairs to an acceptable standard. We will not be allowing another Barkwell plumber into our home!

100% USELESS DO NOT USE This company carried out the plumbing on a new build estate in South Molton, left the en-suite toilet leaking and fitted a defective radiator bleed valve and generally waste your time saying they’ll turn up and don’t then when they do don’t fix the issue as apparently they don’t have the parts that were ordered 2 months prior.

This shambolic company carried out the plumbing on our new build in Barnstaple. Ensuite leaking shower tray now ruined the kitchen ceiling. £3k repair. Now the central heating is making a knocking noise being told that it’s because the pipes have not been fixed to the floor joists properly which now’s means carpets and flooring to be ripped up to try and locate the problem. All toilet seats loose and in need of replacement. Truly awful company. Avoid like the plague.

Had an awful experience with the this plumber. They were assigned to our new build house when we had a small leak in our upstairs bathroom causing a wet patch in our downstairs ceiling. They came to investigate what was wrong and said they fixed the issue and to use the bathroom like normal. Within the first flush of the toilet later that day we had fully flooded the bathroom and the caused water to go into our living room ceiling and out of our light switches downstairs. This flood has now caused the skirting to pop off and the flooring to have gaps in. Terrible of the plumber to not even test the flush of the toilet and to assure me everything was fine to be used like normal. They came back to fix this now even bigger problem. Drilled holes in the ceiling to ‘let any excess water out’ but didn’t even put anything under to catch any potential drips. The following day I had a phone call where the lady offered to book in to get the holes patched without even a ‘sorry’ or acknowledging that they had caused a massive issue from a little leak. Poor customer service. They can’t come back for over two weeks to fix the holes in the ceiling. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND OR EVER USE AGAIN.
