After reading some of the reviews and my experiences with Ivor Cook, there seems to be an ongoing trend that others and I have experienced. Ivor Cook wasn't taken on by me but was given the contract from the British Gas Nest scheme to improve my home energy efficiency and install solar panels along with other improvements. It doesn't come as a surprise that Ivor Cook will only contact you when they need to. Others comments on here kind of back up that they don't communicate well. If you ask for calls to be returned or send them emails, they simply do not respond.  I had some outstanding queries that needed acknowledging and actioning (read below for these), and I had to, in the end, get British Gas to try and call them or give them a 7-day deadline to respond, or else I would have to visit their place of business for a response. Installation began and Now I assume because I wasn't paying for this, they got a little irate because my family wanted to remain in the house despite my family stating they would stay in a room out of the way. I understand that work needed to be done, and I ensured they kept well away from the workers. But I couldn't help but understand why they were so keen to try and ask us to leave, but after the shenanigans, I now understand clearly why. If they made an error or something that wouldn't be seen as acceptable there wouldn't be anyone there to judge them. The solar panels went up, and the battery and inverter were installed as needed, but the inverter wasn't installed where it was initially agreed.  They had moved it further along the kitchen wall.  While I was okay with this, they had to drill two large holes up and into the loft; both times they missed the loft and drilled straight into the back bedroom, scuffing the ceiling with a 200 mm long drill bit. This where things get interesting, I agreed on the last day of the solar installation I would finish early to be there to go through the setup of the data logger and app. Little did I know that Ivor Cook had installed a data logger that was being deprecated and the manufacturer would have given them the recommendation to use a newer recommend one called solarman. Anyway I left work early and Ivor Cook decided to leave early too so I wasted time leaving work for nothing. After a few unreturned calls to them I reached out to raleigh instruments who said Ivor Cook shouldn't have installed their obsolete data logger but were even more mortified when they actually inspected the logger to find the waterproof sealing gland wasn't secured tight and was just hanging there. Once it was all setup I informed my energy supplier who stated they hadn't received any certification from Ivor Cook to verify the install. it took months to get this paperwork from them and then took another 6 weeks after receiving it to be put on an export tariff. Ivor Cook went upstairs and started fishing for live wires to run the two downstairs ventilation fans they installed but, for some reason, abandoned that idea and decided what would have been a neater finish was better: running 2m of 28mm trunking around the walls despite me telling them not to, as we would be sinking the sockets into the walls once signed off and I didn't want the hassle of extra cabling. They also added a bathroom pull cord in the kitchen for the fans for the boost for some strange reason, and I got them to remove this when they came back to wire the last window fan in, or at least I thought they had, but they still hadn't wired a boost live wire from the ceiling light 0.5 m away to the fan.  Ivor Cook decided to go for a hat trick, and I think this was becoming amusement for them.  A 50" wide window where the fan was installed into the glass decided, rather than try to blend in the trunking by running it from corner to corner, to put a 10" piece of trunking there for the cable slapped on so quickly I wasn't sure if they were asleep or drunk, as it wasn't even straight. There was a whole lot more but google is restricting my review length, but I would seriously avoid this company.

Used Ivor cook 2 times now for boiler services and a repair and they are great. Customer service and speed. Thank you.

I just had a new boiler installed by Morgan and Elliot from Invor Cook, they were efficient neat and polite, top job 10/10. Our home will be toasty this winter

The guys installed a new solar system and a new heating system with Boiler , Rads and Smart water tank, the guys Dave, Chris, Lloyd and Carl were professional and know their trade's to a very high standard. A credit to the company Ivor Cook.

Booked in for a boiler. Back office staff were very friendly and professional. Lewis the Site Engineer was a credit to himself and his company; punctual, professional, and poilte. The service cost was very reasonable. In short, I am very happy with all aspects of the service and can happily recommend.

Have to say……. Just had an installation of boiler and rads at my mothers house. She is elderly and vulnerable and not in the best of health. The 2 engineers CHRIS & LLOYD were absolutely brilliant. Very understanding, polite, hardworking and very tidy workmen. These 2 lads are a credit to your company….. thank you and well done. Regards PG

We recently had a boiler and two radiators changed the boys from ivor cook did the work and they were brilliant we were so pleased with everything they did and they were polite and friendly and clean working fully recommend them the young men where Chris and Lloyd.

On 20/12 one of the members of staff from this company from around 4:20 pm Parked far too close to my car and when the back van doors were opened it looked like he was hitting the car - upon going out the doors were opened to less than a few millimetres from my car so far too close I asked nicely and with pleases and all I got a load of abusive and refusal to move despite the fact the van could be moved down quite easily. This individual went into a house and came back out after a few minutes when he swung the vans doors open and it honestly looked like he’d hit my car purposely from where I was looking (a window opposite) I did shout asking this individual to stop trying to hit my car to which I got yet more abuse. I know for a fact this individual works for this company as he had the T-shirt on which I noticed that when I first asked him to move (this is how close he was to my car) Going by other reviews for this Company they are not the best and I can fully see why

Raised a fault call with solar inverter. Still awaiting a call back very poor

Elliott was excellent, very helpful and professional all work completed in the time I was told and to good standard. Ollie and Simon were very polite and overall very pleased

Took old boiler out in February coldest day left me with no heating or hot water put new one in next day said will come back tomorrow afternoon to put new rads in ,didn't turn up rang an 4th day said will be with you this afternoon, I had appointments for 2days. So they had to come on the Monday. They turned up ,left me with leeks from pipes on outside and leek on hall radiator they did fix it after a few calls. Now I still have another leek in the hall no one seems to fix

Came out to do a boiler service, condemned our boiler said they'd be back and never showed. Find out next day they had no intention of coming back on the previous day . Left a family of 4 with no hot water without any communication. Still waiting for the repair to be done as I type

Cancelled on me last might on two occasions, when they actually did the work they left two radiators leaking (slow leak). I managed to fix one myself and I called them several times for the second but they did not fixed it. I put a towel under to soak up the water but since leak had been slow over 3 weeks my carpet smells. UPDATE: Eventually someone came to fix the leak.

Dave Davies attended my property today to sort out the electrics for new boiler. He also installed the new thermostat. Dave was very professional and could not have done more for me! The work completed was fast and to a very high standard. I don't think i've met a professional who was so willing to go above and beyond. Highly recommended this gentleman for any electrical works.

Day five with a broken boiler, On two occasions they turned up with out parts. And on 3 occasions the office had no job even logged. No communication what so ever. Absolute joke.

Failed to turn up on 2 appointments and had the nerve to ask me to make a third appointment!
