I hired DSS Heating and Plumbing to investigate and repair a persistent leak in my wet room, which I knew would require some serious attention as it had been causing problems for quite some time. I don't usually write reviews unless I've had a negative experience, but on this occasion I felt a review was both necessary and thoroughly deserved. From start to finish, this company impressed me with their professionalism, communication, and quality of workmanship. From the very first visit to provide a quotation from Damo, I felt confident that I was in good hands. The team took the time to explain in detail what they believed needed to be done, while also making me aware of potential issues that might only become visible once work began. Given the nature of the damage, I appreciated their honesty and transparency from the outset. Throughout the process, I was kept fully informed from Trisha about progress, ordering times, and the anticipated start date. I was advised that, taking everything into account, I could potentially be without a bathroom for two to three weeks. However, I was reassured that they would work as efficiently as possible without compromising on quality, and they certainly delivered on that promise. Jamie arrived when they said they would, always on time, and worked quickly and efficiently throughout. Jamie who was carrying out the work was polite, hardworking, and a pleasure to deal with. He was happy to answer questions, kept me updated on progress, and clearly took great pride in his work. Considering the amount of disruption involved in removing and completely replacing the old wet room floor, I was genuinely surprised by how tidy everything was kept. Tools and equipment were organised, disruption to the rest of the house was kept to a minimum, and it was obvious that time had been taken at the end of each day to clean and tidy the work area. Even better, the project was completed sooner than originally estimated, which was a welcome bonus. The finished result has exceeded my expectations and the quality of the workmanship is clear to see. There's a saying that you get what you pay for, but in this case I honestly feel I received far more than I paid for. It's rare to find a company that combines excellent communication, reliability, professionalism, and high-quality craftsmanship so effectively. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them to others. A genuinely professional and trustworthy company that has done a fantastic job. Thank you!

A gas engineer came to disconnect the gas supply to a fireplace. He was quite chatty and not in a hurry showing me a lot of pictures of his dogs on his phone and talking about various things. When he finished the work, he tossed the gas cable in front of me in my flower bed on my front garden and said his van was too full to take away all the rubbish and material he removed from the fireplace. The rubbish and fireplace frame were inside a box that I provided to him because he did not bring anything with him to put the rubbish in. That box would easily fit in a small car. I was too shocked when he just tossed the gas cable into my flower bed that I did not protest and just wanted him to leave my property. I then received an invoice charging me an extra amount for what we agreed on for a 15 minute extra work time. I emailed and spoke on the phone to Trish and explained what had happened. Trish told me she is appaled by what happened and this is not the quality of service the company strives to provide and apologised. Trish said she would send someone as soon as possible to remove the rubbish from my property,. At my request, (it was not offered to me as a good gesture unprompted) they removed the 15 minute extra charge. However, a month later they have not come back to remove the rubbish from my property. Of course I took it to the tip myself after 2 weeks of waiting for them. So I do not really recommend this company.

Edited: Evidence of the quote added (Edit 8th June 2026) Since you love lying so much, I have added the quote with the spirit of salt and cutting out the air separator violating BS7593. We went through Countrywide to have DSS resolve the heating problem for our tenant. Not including the number of call outs they charge. They quoted for a work to fix the boiler without advising for a boiler replacement. They charged £936.00 to carry out work for the boiler including using spirit of salt as stated on their quotation. Immediately after carrying out the work the radiator started leaking and still no heating for the tenants. They then quoted for a power flush for £864.00 and follow up with a 1 year Glow-Worm boiler for £3,517.33. The last quote includes another power flush. Double charging? We raised this issue regarding their warranty with Vaillant (parent company of Glow Worm) and they said this is against their practice for an approved installer. This is not the standard warranty offered for a new boiler. We have decided to not to take up the additional quotes and the boiler failed again in a couple of weeks. This is an incompetent, unethical and predatory company. Contemplating taking relevant actions with related authority. Best avoid.

Dean did a great job identifying an issue with my kitchen tap and fitted a new one at the same time. He was kind, helpful and reassuring throughout, providing an excellent service and treated our home with respect. This is an excellent company and I will not hesitate to get in touch if i ever need help in the future. Thank you.
