McGhie's Plumbing & Heating Ltd is described across the reviews as professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Several reviewers mention underfloor heating work milled into concrete or screed floors, and others report bathroom replacements and boiler or heat pump work. One reviewer says Matt spent time checking an air source heat pump that had been installed incorrectly by others and set it up properly. Reviewers repeatedly mention the team being tidy, on time and helpful, with one noting that Matt was conscientious and respectful of her privacy while working in the home. One reviewer says Matt resolved problems that arose, and another reports that he went out of his way to advise and diagnose a boiler issue in holiday lets.
We used Mcghie Plumbing and Heating via our builder for installing hot water underfloor heating in half of our ground floor which was a combination of our brand new extension (with 2025-standard floor construction), and the old 1980-built solid concrete slab kitchen & dining room floor. This meant that some of the usual methods of installation were impractical, so Steven came along with a dust-extracting concrete router, and, after patiently marking out the optimum pipe routing, he routed out the floor, and laid in the pipes in a day! The whole process was about 2 days. He took time to answer our questions and reassure us about a technology that we had never experienced before. He was so knowledgeable, and so enthusiastic about what he did, it was a pleasure to learn from him. If we ever need to install underfloor elsewhere, we will be asking for Steven back again.
Matt, Jack and his Team need to be acknowledged for their professionalism, quality of work completed and excellent work ethos and application. The team go beyond expectations and are so helpful and work to produce quality outcomes. I had my concrete floor milled , Jack and Alfie were so professional and did an excellent job. I have no hesitation in recommending this company to you, you won’t find anyone better.
I would recommend Matt to everyone! He went above and beyond, showcasing all his expertise and skill set resolving any problems that arose.
Mat is very helpful and went out of his way to advise and diagnose an issue with the boiler in our holiday lets, would recommend his company to others.
I have just had UFH milled into existing screed floor along with a 5Kw ASHP fitted by Matt and his team. I am more than happy with all of the work, a very tidy I installation which is working very efficiently. Just leaves me to say very big thank you to the whole team. Highly recommended 🙂
Matt and his team stripped back and replaced 2 bathrooms from top to bottom for us. I could not recommend them more! The attention to detail, friendliness and thoughtfulness of all the team was perfect! Would definitely use them again.
It’s not it a small thing to have a “heart transplant” of your heating system. So be careful who you choose for this kind of surgery. We chose McGhie’s and have absolutely no regrets. Well planned and executed all with consultation so we understood each step and they listened to our requests,
Prompt, friendly and professional service! Milled our concrete floor in preparation for underfloor heating, provided brilliant advice and clearly very knowledgable. Would highly recommend. Thanks!
Matt McGhie has completed a few jobs at our house and the standard has always been 'Spot On!' What leads me to write a review (which I do not often - Sadly) is what he has achieved with our Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP). We spent A LOT(!) of money on this and after Matt attending for its Annual Service it turns out that it was never installed correctly...!! Which we have since taken up officially with the installers... He spent time to investigate and clearly explain to us what was needed and correctly set up what should have been set up originally. The efficiency realised after this service was INCREDIBLE !! This winter we had a warm house 24/7 at a fraction of what it was costing us. Without lighting the fire every night too! We all use the term 'Our'.... Solicitor/Lawyer etc. Matt McGhie is most Definitely 'Our Plumber'. Highly Recommend to All !!
All the team were extremely professional, on time and tidy. If you want great service from an experienced team, I would highly recommend.
Efficient and know their stuff
Acted promptly to help in an emergency.
Matt installed a Worcester boiler in a house I had recently moved into. His price was extremely competitive and the quality of the work excellent. I also wanted to update the bathrooms which he did the plumbing for and gave lots of great advice as I tackled the building work myself. He worked in the property when my partner had to work from home and was always very conscientious and respectful of her privacy. Matt has been back several times (generally to repair my mistakes) and has always been very prompt when needed. I would thoroughly recommend M McGhie plumbing, very professional service and nice guy to boot.
We are very happy with the work completed by Matt and his team. Our new bathroom looks great! Will certainly be using them again.
always good service thanks Matt. prompt relable and professional.
