Our whole experience with R A Brown has been very positive. From the office communication and excellent customer service, to Dom the engineer who came out to service our Nibe system and replace a sensor. It was obvious from the start that Dom was very experienced and knew exactly what he was doing. I highly recommend Dom & RA Brown heating services.

I have recently switched from using Mitsubishi to R A Brown for my air source heat pump system and wish I had sooner! The overall service received is far superior. Dom has just completed the first annual check and could not have been more thorough, helpful and respectful of the property.

Phoned R A Brown using the number on the company website, spoke with a Tracy who was more concerned about where I got the number from, rather than my question, as it got redirected to their mobile?! Called again after being cut off, and as it was 5 minutes before they closed, she was extremely dismissive and rude, and didn't offer support on the question. She explained that we are nearly closed and it would cost £270, she mentioned "could be too expensive for some people" - weird thing to say, and suggests couldn't be bothered to discuss further. Real shame as they were recommended and I would have paid for the service if she were more welcoming and less rude.

I'm writing in praise of every single member of your team, and the electricians Gary and Kevin, who were all involved in the process of transferring my old heat pump to the new Ariston one, between 07.05.25 and 05.06.25. Dale, Luke, Connor, Louis and Alex, were all fantastic. They were extremely polite, professional, and efficient, which was the same a couple of years ago, when Dale repaired my old ASHP. They were also all very sympathetic considering for me this was a big, disruptive and expensive job, and I was pretty much stressed from start to finish! I think it's important to point out the quality of empathy they have as individuals, and as a team too, because this can be rare in all forms of customer service today, and it makes such a big difference, especially when work is being done inside and around people's homes. Gary was brilliant, because not only did he make sure I had hot water after a fortnight of the old Heat Pump failing, when he repaired the back up system, but he also ensured I still had it throughout the exchange. I can't thank him enough, because I didn't know what going without hot water was like until it happened, and because the first fortnight was a real ordeal! I'm so pleased R A Brown Heating Services Ltd has been awarded National ACR & HEAT PUMP AWARDS 2025 WINNER because you all most definitely deserve it. RA Brown came to the rescue when our gas boiler was condemned. They quoted for, and fitted, a new boiler within the week. The staff were really professional and did a great job to restore our hot water and heating. And they had no problem working with our difficult flue. Quality service.

Professional, courteous, managed expectations clearly and resolved my boiler issue efficiently!

They responded to my issue very swiftly, helpful and knowledgeable staff - would thoroughly recommend.

RA Brown - they are good, and knowledgeable, but my goodness they are expensive. It cost £170 up front, just to get an appointment booked in. This only includes one hour of labour. If the engineer does not have a part which is needed, they then have to come back another visit.another £75 for up to an hour, even if they are only there for 30 mins. Any further visits another £75, even though it’s for another part which they have to order in. So my total for having a new pump and valve on my underfloor heating came to £756. Steep I think. Shame they are so expensive . Their engineers are good and friendly though, I have no complaint with the quality of their work. But I find that 4.5 hours of labour to fit a simple pump and valve is excessive. This is caused by the vans not carrying appropriate parts, even simple ones, therefore having to return to depot to collect, and then re-schedule further visits to complete the work. The further visits then being charged at the minimum hourly rate of £75+VAT, even if they are not on site that long. Other companies, including plumbers will not put in a minimum charge if they are returning to an on-going job. This was exactly the same problem with this company in 2016, when I had one of their engineers for a total of about 5 minutes to fix a small follow up issue of a stuck solenoid. I refused to pay an hour labour for this, as he was there all of 5 minutes. I decided to give the company another chance, due to their good expertise. But despite previous feedback, they continue to charge excessively. Absolutely nothing has changed.

R A Brown installed my Nibe ground source heat pump about ten years ago and we couldn't have been more impressed with their planning and installation work. So when our system stopped working a few weeks ago we called them straight away. Their engineer diagnosed the fault quickly and arranged to order the part. It was fitted quickly and the system is back working again. Friendly, efficient and absolute experts in their field!

Recently Alan came and changed a washer. Expertly. I have known and used Richard Brown's services since 2008, and my father before me from the previoust century. Richard has provided all my plumbing needs for all these years - from changing a washer to installing a heat pump, underfloor heating, an en-suite, a wet-room, and wall and floor radiators. Everything to my total satisfaction in every way - I know I can always rely on him and his excellent team. Use him!

Great knowledge and support from a local business. We had a full ASHP and Underfloor Heating System installed, including a couple of updates for the RHI. Alex Little was the main technician dealing with the install and he provided a professional service, while being friendly, knowledgeable and approachable for our various questions. Brown's were not the cheapest but their service has been excellent.

RA Browns installed an air source heating pump at ours in February. We'd run out of oil and they did everything they could to move our installation date forward and get the system in and running as quickly as they could. Toasty and warm since! Fab team - Dax and Mark great for planning/scheduling, Amanda and Julia helpful with the application and EPC. Connor, Sam and Co great with installation. We also had Gary and co from Norfolk Electrical. Thank you all!

They serviced my Mitsubishi ASHP (they were actually alerted of my need for a service from my use of Mitsubishi's online service - so really they were Mitsubishi's own recommendation). The service was fine, I think (they also serviced and certified my other property's Veissmann combi LPG boiler). My issue is that I had another heating system issue that they promised they would look into with my Mitsubishi but they clearly couldn't be bothered following this up properly. I guess it is the same-old-same-old of wanting the easy, unitised more profitable (?) jobs of servicing and installing. No real interest in fixing and resolving issues - not very eco friendly or responsible. I have looked for someone else to help me now. They were VERY good at chasing for payment, however... I will also be contacting Mitsubishi about poor customer service.

We’ve had a lot of work completed by this company, twice called out engineers due to no heating but on both occasions we are chasing up the calls/work and it always takes a while before anything happens. It’s a shame really.

RA Brown recently installed our air source heat pump. Everyone involved was friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. Connor and Jamie conducted the installation and were great. They worked hard, explained everything clearly and made sure the system worked perfectly. Gary installed the electrical equipment and was also very knowledgeable and helpful. We had an Airsource underfloor system fitted at our Bungalow rebuild in Happisburgh, we had a number of engineers/installers on-site at different times but mostly Alex was the one we had most contact with, he did a thoroughly professional and neat job and answered any questions we had. This is the first time we have had this type of system installed. Thank very much Alex!!

Thorough assessment of what appeared to be an unrepairable boiler before advising on a suitable replacement at a competitive price. Installation performed as explained, on time with work being carried out in a clean and efficient manner with minimum disruption by the engineers involved.

First time I've used this company but won't be the last! Rang with a problem regarding solar thermal heating. Very pleasant and cheerful engineer showed up next day with correct replacement component and swapped over. All done within an hour. Minor problem with pressure loss afterwards, so he came back two days later and fixed it foc. All now working well. Very impressed!

We cannot praise R A Brown enough. They designed, installed and commissioned our underfloor heating and hot water system for us, plus they carried out all our plumbing requirements and water softener. The air source heat pump was faulty and was replaced by them for a new one. Excellent service and excellent communication. Very happy customers.

R A Brown advised, designed and installed our Ground Source Heat Pump and underfloor heating and continue to perform annual maintenance. They meticulously followed the required procedure enabling us to claim the Renewable Heat Incentive (not a trivial matter). Engineers are exemplary in cleanliness and effectiveness. Top spot!

Our heating had stopped working just as it got frosty outside!! Dale was here within 2 hours of our call. It was a process of elimination to find the problem but he soon found the outside temperature sensor was reading the wrong temperature.... 19 degrees!! He then corrected and cleaned the sensor and the heating kicked in. So thank you very much Dale, our house is lovely and warm now :D

Heat pump service today completed by Dale. He was very professional, covid safe and took time to explain everything he had done and asked if we had any questions. System now running very well with all radiators bled of air which has been impossible for us to achieve. Although this company is not the cheapest they have provided a service which is value for money and we will use again.

A very friendly and efficient service. The engineer (Luke) explained exactly what they were doing, why it needed to be done and how often our solar thermal system should serviced.

Luke helped us yesterday with a fault with our Nibe system. He quickly identified the problem and rectified it. It was also good to talk to such a knowledgeable engineer about our system and the settings, he is a credit to your company.

Highly recommend this company, the installers were outstanding, we had Toby, Simon, Connor and Bradley. Toby and Simon were great at communicating and keeping us informed, super helpful and thoughtful in their work, they were with us for 2 weeks and considered our needs living there were doing their work. They installed UFH throughout the whole house and every day they were on time, tidy and informative. We had a Connor a few days who too was excellent. I would highly recommend this company.

We had no heating or hot water as our boiler had broken down. The weather was turning cold. I contacted Dax Parsons, R A Brown's Contracts Manager, on Tuesday 8 October. Dax came out the following day and quoted for the work. I received and accepted the quote on Friday 11 October. Charlie Bartram and Simon started work on Tuesday 15 October, installing a Worcester 24 kW boiler and a 250 litre pressurised water cylinder. Charlie's work, and that of his colleagues, was first class. Much to our delight we had hot water and heating restored on Thursday 17 October. Both the engineers and their apprentice were friendly, polite and thorough. R A Brown are a professional team and we would highly recommend them. Jeff Penfold Norwich

We have had a full air source heating system with underfloor heating etc installed. I am impressed with the final result which is very neat and well finished - we found Charlie to be very good from start to finish. Would certainly recommend, friendly staff and good service.

RA Brown installed our ground source seven years ago and have regularly serviced it since then. They have never failed to impress. A small (ish) business with knowledgable staff and a focus on customer service. Highly recommended

Employed ra brown for a ASHP installation,,from plan to fit and finish,,kept informed all the way through and went extra mile to make my installation hidden and under the floor neat and tidy Top job by the fitters friendly and so knowledgeable and would accommodate where they could to my requirements..electrics they dont do but sub out even they were top draw they recommended a couple of firms they use...the electrician went above and beyond..was also open to few changes from me....check these guys out if you have heating requirements 5 star.....*****

We have been delighted with the service we have had from Browns. They are extremely knowledgeable and the work is of the highest professional standard. The work people are all very considerate, working hard and also making as least mess possible and they do a fantastic cleaning job when they are finished. We would highly recommend Browns.

In summer of 2018 we had RA Browns install a NIBE 1155 ground source heat pump and from the initial visit to the final commissioning we were always very pleased with how the project was handled. Browns consistently did what they said they were going to do, on time and on budget, and, for example, we appreciated an impromptu site visit from senior management half way through the installation to make sure everything was going to plan as well as either answering the phone promptly or always getting back to quickly if we had left a message - an important detail with a project this involved and capital-intensive. Browns also designed the installation around that fact we have a PV system which complements the heat pump with an iBoost, and that we wanted the (gigantic) hot water tank and the buffer vessel inside the house to trap what little heat escapes from them. Living with a heat pump is somewhat different from burning oil or gas, but we are delighted with our warm and cosy house and massively reduced carbon footprint, let alone the RHI payment system. Question: Would we recommend Browns to a friend? Answer: Yes, with a big thumbs up.
