Excellent response and service to a call about leaks which had suddenly developed in our rather complex kitchen sink waste system. A very pleasant engineer called within an hour or two of my phone enquiry to give a quote, but stayed and fixed the problem, which turned out to be straightforward, and so all was resolved the same day, to our great relief. I spent a long time choosing the right installer for our air to air heat pump system, and Monster Heating and Cooling were excellent from start to finish. What impressed me first was their speed and responsiveness. They arranged a survey for the very next day, and Dayne was clearly someone who understood both the technical side and the practical reality of working in a lived-in, newly built home. We were very focused on getting a system that could both heat and cool the house, and that was specified properly enough to remove the need for us to rely on our gas-powered heating system and radiators. Aesthetic detail really mattered to us, and this is where Monster stood out. Dayne took the time to think creatively about cable and pipe routes so we could avoid visible internal trunking altogether and keep external trunking to a minimum. That kind of problem-solving made a huge difference. Wayne then turned that into a quote that felt sensible, fair, and well judged. It was not under-specced, not inflated, and he worked quickly with me over email to refine it around exactly what we wanted. Once we agreed the quote, work started just three days later, which was far quicker than I expected. Daniel was on site for the two-week installation, supported by Colin and apprentices James and Connor, and the whole team were a pleasure to have around. They were friendly, courteous, hardworking, and consistently respectful of our home. Every day they turned up when they said they would, and every day they tidied up properly. They took real care throughout and left the house immaculate at the end of the job. One thing that really stood out was how much the team seemed to enjoy the project. It was genuinely nice to see that they were really enjoying the work and taking obvious pride in doing it well. That gave me a huge amount of confidence, because you could tell this was not just a job to get through. They cared about the result and wanted it to be right. What I especially appreciated was that the end result looks considered rather than simply “installed”. In a new build, it would have been very easy for a system like this to feel intrusive or visually clumsy, but they delivered something that feels integrated into the house. The pipework is hidden in the roof space, with only a few very neat external trunking lines, and the overall finish has exceeded my expectations. The system itself has also been excellent. I was genuinely shocked by how quiet the units are, both indoors and out. It is performing exactly as we hoped, and it has given us real confidence that we can comfortably heat and cool the house without depending on our gas heating system. It also feels genuinely future-proof. The Bosch indoor units support the Matter smart home standard and have integrated seamlessly with our Apple Home setup. That was a major plus for us and makes the whole system feel ready for the future, not just for today. Most companies can talk about quality and customer service, but Monster actually demonstrated it in how they worked: quick to respond, thoughtful in design, careful in execution, and proud of the finished result. Everyone we dealt with was a credit to the company. I would not hesitate to recommend Monster Heating and Cooling to anyone considering air conditioning or an air to air heat pump system. They delivered a system that is practical, well designed, future-proof and beautifully installed. For anyone interested, the system installed was two Bosch Climate 5000M 10.5kW multi-split outdoor units and seven Bosch Climate 3200i indoor units with Wi-Fi control.

Fantastic 5* service. We have used Monster for several years to service our boiler and their customer service has always been outstanding. Our boiler had started to leak and during the last service, we discussed replacing it. James, the engineer, was knowledgeable, very helpful and clearly explained the options. I obtained several quotes based on the options provided and although Monster were not the cheapest, we decided to go ahead with their quote. We knew them and felt we could trust them. The replacement was scheduled to take place over 2 days and the appointment was arranged for a convenient time for us. Engineers Billy and Connor arrived exactly at the time stated. They were professional, totally confident, very personable and polite. The replacement did not go exactly to plan, as it was discovered the existing flue was damaged and could not be reused and the flat roof through which it passed was also damaged. Wayne at Monster quickly had a roofer attend to repair the damage and a new flue was fitted. It was an unexpected additional cost, but these things happen. You never know what you're going to find until work starts. All work was carried out to a high standard and the quality of workmanship was faultless !! Highly recommended and we will definitely continue to use Monster Heating Cooling.

Once again 5 star service from Monster! On Saturday evening we discovered our airing cupboard floor was wet - and a small leak in a cold water pipe. I sent an email to Monster, and on Monday morning an email informed us that an engineer could come early on Tuesday morning. Nick found two leaks and dealt with them, but there was a possibility that a pipe might need replacing - to keep an eye on it. It was still slightly damp so I rang the office in the afternoon ( lovely friendly professional receptionist )and was told that Nick would come the following afternoon to do the job at 3.30 pm. At 3.30 the doorbell rang - a different engineer said Nick was running late so asked him to come instead! James very quickly replaced said pipe, and also did another small job on our shower control. Such professionals, prompt, totally confident, and very personable and polite. Monster are definitely our ‘ Go to ‘ firm for plumbing and heating!

As always have advice on products that would meet our needs. All communication was clear and this was promptly followed by an email outling details of products and their costs. Our appointment was arranged for a convenient to us. The work was carried out to a high standard and at the end the plumber cleared up after himself

I was recommended by a builder/project manager in Thrapston who contacted Monster H & C on my behalf, I was contacted by Wayne Bell within a day or two and the needs discussed, his knowledge of useful and cost effective heating for particular applications was evident, giving me confidence to recommend his company as installer of an air conditioning unit to cover heating and cooling to the owners of the property which was a small meeting hall. It was a pleasure to deal with a privately owned company who deals with other forms of heating also plumbing, whether it was Wayne, his wife Rebecca in the office or the employees who installed the unit, Everything worked out well with times dates etc. and the heating/cooling is very pleasant. I was advised by another heating and plumbing company that I might need a completely new boiler or face very costly repairs on my Vaillant system. Wanting a second opinion, I contacted Monster Heating Cooling, and I’m so glad I did. Dane visited to assess the situation and was incredibly honest and thorough. After checking everything over, he confirmed that the boiler could be repaired and didn’t need replacing. The quote they provided was extremely reasonable—far cheaper than the previous company’s recommendation. I accepted the quote, and an engineer was booked for the very next day. Nick arrived promptly and was professional, knowledgeable, and clear in explaining exactly what needed to be done. The whole experience was smooth, reassuring, and excellent value for money. I contacted Monster Heating and Cooling yesterday evening about a boiler issue at one of my rental properties, and I have been so impressed with their service. They were at the property before 9am this morning, quickly assessed the problem, and provided a clear quotation for the work. What really stood out was Fiona in the office, who went above and beyond by calling around multiple suppliers until she found the required parts in stock and available for immediate collection. Thanks to her persistence and the team’s efficiency, the boiler was repaired within just a few hours. This meant we avoided leaving the tenants without heating and hot water for several days while waiting for parts to be delivered. I am absolutely delighted with the speed, communication, and overall level of service. We will definitely be using Monster Heating and Cooling again and would highly recommend them.

Shower upgraded with dual impeller pump in the airing cupboard - great job by Monster HC After my old shower valve was replaced I was able to use the shower in the main bathroom again but the flow rate had never been exciting because is is a gravity fed system working at a pressure of about 0.25bar I emailed Wayne at Monster HC to ask about fitting a pump. He arranged for an engineer to come to check the plumbing in the airing cupboard. Wayne then provided a quote for the work which included fitting a Surrey flange to the hot water cylinder to ensure there was no air in the feed to the shower. Alan arrived a couple of days later and did a great job of the pipework in the airing cupboard and the feed to the shower. The pump was initially powered by an extension lead. The following week, Monster HC sent an electrician to fit a dual RCD socket in the airing cubboard to power the pump. The trunking to the new socket was installed neatly. With the new 1.5 bar pump, my shower is really envigorating to use and is now an excellent start to my day. I have used Monster HC on eight occasions before and their work is always completed on-time to a high standard. I have no hesitation in recommending them

All my expectations of this company were fulfilled: they replaced my boiler for a Worcester Greenstar 24Ri boiler, and the hot water cylinder for an insulated one. William Bell, who was in charge of my project, was brilliant, and I had complete confidence in him. All of the people (4) who worked for the company were polite and cleaned up well. I thought it a little expensive - but I guess you get what you pay for!!

Similar to some of the other poor reviews, we had someone come out to investigate a problem which could have been resolved during the call out but instead, they charged the standard £135 call out fee just to give us a quote to do the work later. During the call out, they carried out a temporary fix which made the problem worse. Initially, an issue with the temperature pressure relief valve was causing excess discharging externally but the temporary fix caused an internal leak which was only noticed once water started to drip through the ceiling below. Having lost faith, we contacted someone else who called out, investigated and resolved the issue in less than half an hour for slightly less than Monster's charge for essentially providing a quote. Furthermore, the quote that Monster provided was almost 3 times this amount. Adding in their call out charge, they were essentially looking to charge 4 times the amount we would eventually pay another engineer and were delaying a simple 30min job, which was causing an internal leak. Their Ts&Cs indicate that the call out charge covers fixes that could be completed within an hour. They also offer free quotations but neither of these terms seemed to apply in our case. The fact that their intervention made things worse and yet they were unwilling to budge on their fee was disappointing. The issue arose immediately after they had carried out a boiler service so we thought they would pick this up as a follow up to that.

Monster HC were recommended to me by The Cambs Handyman when my old boiler failed. A representative called in early October and confirmed my fears that the boiler was unrepairable and that I would need to replace it. He outlined three options for a new combi-boiler and also discussed the pros and cons of a boiler over a heat pump, as I had been considering a pump. I booked the work in with helpful staff in the office and two engineers and an electrician attended a few weeks later to instal a new boiler.All were courteous and took care to protect my house against any mess. They explained what they were doing throughout, as well as how to use the thermostatic controller. I was satisfied with the service, and would recommend them to other people in need of a new boiler — in fact, I have already recommended them to a colleague. Although I would have rather not had such a large expense, it's good to have had the new boiler installed before the cold weather set in.

When our 20+ year boiler had to be replaced, Monster were quick to respond and recommended replacing it with a Combi from Worcester, a contract was quickly agreed. Less than a week later, Monster had fitted the new boiler. Dayne the installer was excellent he spent an hour on the first morning looking at the existing gas, water, electric and flue. We discussed options on pipework so that it would be a neat job with minimal disruption. He completed thei install in 2 days and we are very pleased with the result.

Wayne recently organised for one of his brilliant team to return at very short notice and reposition some pipework at a house renovation in Longstanton. As timing was an issue, this meant that we could continue with the building work without any delays. The guys from Monster Heating & Cooling are always on time, courteous, tidy and a pleasure to have as part of the team.

After two local plumbers did not bother to reply to any messages about our leaking hot water tank and a third had no availability I was beginning to despair — luckily I saw some recommendations for Gas Monster on local social media and they were very responsive to emails, came out to assess the problem promptly, gave us a written quote and organised the repair needed. Dan who did the actual work was capable and friendly, and the leak is now fixed. We will definitely use Gas Monster again and recommend to others.

It's the little things. Had my boiler serviced this morning by the friendly Dan from Gas Monster Ltd. As soon as I opened the door he put his shoe covers on without being asked, in the boiler cupboard he put a little tool mat down (pictured) to protect the surface, he told me what he was doing and when finished said "your service certificate is on your email" Brilliant service, attention to detail, spotlessly clean working and a nice chap. Dayne and Connor came and did an excellent job this morning replacing my kitchen taps and a heater. They were very helpful and friendly and left the place clean. The Gas Monster office are also very efficient and I would thoroughly recommend this company.

We got Gas Monster in to do a number of plumbing jobs for us, including replacing two radiators, replacing a wash basin, getting a toilet to flush properly etc. Firstly, unlike so many businesses these days, they not only reply but do so promptly. They've been delightful to deal with, thoroughly professional, left everything immaculate and everything they've done works as it should do. Everything was done in the promised time scale, they were here at 8.00am sharp each day, and the quote was what we paid: no nasty surprises. Very happy with them: they're definitely now our go-to plumbers. They may not be the cheapest, but you do genuinely get what you pay for. Great service all round.

Very good company, they installed my new boilers, changed pipes and did the maintenance. Not the best price around but the quality of service and customer service is very good, worth the price.

Arrived when they said they would and fixed the immediate problem then gave a clear plan to solve the problem long term.

The quality of their work is OK. However, I had to pay £120 for a job, where they pressed two buttons on the controller, and with the testing it took 10-15 minutes altogether, no tools or spare parts used at all. When I asked them why they charged such a high amount, they said it is their minimal charge. When I asked why I can't see this in their website, they said that they do not advertise their fees in their website. Be sure, that you call them only, when you are willing to pay at least £120, even if the problem is much smaller.

Rapid diagnosis of the issues here ie with radiators in central heating system. Advice also offered regarding boiler control panel.

Extremely happy with this company. Recently replaced our boiler and did a first class job. Highly professional, pleasant to have on site, neat and tidy, patiently answered all our questions, charged exactly according to quotation. Top marks in every respect.

Charged for the first hour regardless of only being on site for 20 mins. I would have appreciated it if I had been told this prior to their arrival - £100 for 20 mins work is extortionate especially as no tools or parts were required!

Why are you looking at this review rated poor? Are your intentions to decide whether to use this company? Do poor reviews provide any useful purpose? If your mind is already made up then despite seeing adverse reviews and hearing of the cheap estimate it still leads one to ask what harm can it do? Well I ignored such reviews and still went ahead and appointed GasMonster of Cottenham. Here are some questions you should consider based upon our truthful and factual experiences. Would you choose a company that despite the Trades description act and the WHICH code of conduct still sent an unqualified convicted burglar to our home? A company that was subsequently referred to the WHICH compliance unit for investigation? A company whose quality of work was described in an independent RISA report as “not of an acceptable standard”? A company that was ordered by the Furniture and Improvement Ombudsman in October 2023 to pay us compensation? If the answer is still yes, then wasn’t reading this review rather pointless? So buyer beware or “Caveat Emptor” after all it’s your decision and your money.

Billy, James and Jack did a great job replacing our hot water tank and putting in a new thermostat. We are now enjoying many warm showers and being able to control the heating via a phone. Gas Monsters were really good at explaining the problems with our heating. Excellent price too. They cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. Will definitely use again.

Disappointed with service overall. Not forthcoming with request for itemisation of price of parts, call out charge etc. Our initial query was we suspected a problem relating to the Diverter valve system. First visit 14th September engineer removed line strainer, second visit 21st September fitted Worcester system filter, eventually 27th September actuator to diverter valve replaced and that was on our request and never picked up as a fault the previous 2 visits even though we had stated we were concerned about it. Expensive compared to other local firms.

Had a yearly service done by gas monster since 2019. Recently had an issue with something leaking from the boiler and gas monster were quick with the response and also kept us informed throughout making sure that they knew that it was a long lasting fix than a patch. Highly recommend!

Been a customer them for years. Easy online booking for annual services, and they turn up on time! Replaced our boiler during lockdown, all done nicely, also replaced a radiator on another occasion - very satisfied.

Very professional - asked them to quote on a new combi boiler, some radiator issues, new stopcock, and new taps. Quick to respond, quoted in person the next day, discussed the likely cause & solutions to some heating issues, with agreed work scheduled & completed on time the following week. We had a recent boiler service carried out by Gas Monster, the engineer had good communication skills and was professional and carried out the work nicely. We would use gas monster again and would recommend to others too.

Arranged a boiler service over email with minimal fuss. Clear timing window was given and adhered to and work and repairs were carried out efficiently. This was the first time getting the boiler and cylinder serviced with Gas Monster and their representative was able to answer all the questions I had.

Hot water system controller had failed, was running all the time. They came the very next day after I emailed, and sorted the problem straight away (with two new parts, didn’t even have to wait for them to be ordered in). Perfect service.

Replaced an old gas hob with one we had sourced 2nd hand, were able to do it the next day. They were on time, the job took the amount of time anticipated and the people were polite and very professional. Very pleased.

Extremely impressed by the whole service from Gas Monster when my boiler died during a cold week in February. I phoned around a few companies, and Gas Monster were the first to come out to have a look, the quickest to send me a quote (which was a fair price, and very similar to several other quotes), and were able to get the work done sooner than anyone else. The new boiler was fitted by Dane, who was very friendly and communicative, and did a brilliant job. I'll definitely use Gas Monster again.

We have used Gas Monster several times now and have always been happy with the service. We found them on Which Trusted Traders. The first job was to replace 7 radiators. This month they have installed a combi boiler and fixed the shower. They have also been out for issues with our old boiler. Everyone who has visited has always been professional and polite. They are good at cleaning up after themselves and finish the job on time or early. They have also been great at explaining the work being done and how the system works.

Gas Monster helped to fix an issue with my hot water tank as well as install a Hive thermostat. The job started with one person and then another colleague arrived to help finish things off. We have used Gasmonster on several occasions and have been very pleased each time. The latest was overheating of radiators, which was worrying and potentially very expensive. As they were in our area and it was urgent they came almost immediately and the repair was done on the spot and problem was solved. Thank you Wayne and Rebecca.

Dishonest, unscrupulous, and untrustworthy!!! I would give them zero if i can. I paid £115 for a high call-out fee asked by them, with the expectation that they would fix my heating system. However, without any substantial checks/tests, they tried fooling me and saying it was problem of the boiler, and misled me into buying and installing their boiler costing over £3000. I felt doubtful about their proposal, and had another plumber checked quickly, and found it was just because of an airlock. By bleeding the air out, the system was fixed and came back to normal without any new purchase. To my surprise, when I revealed the fact to them, they still tried to fool me and argued irrationally. I never write a negative review, but this time I felt I should stand out to remind all guys not to fall into their trap.

Made an appointment for the following day, very prompt and professional. Told me all the options and rough prices involved. Repair was very expertly undertaken and from locally sourced parts. I’m very happy with their work and our old boiler is all nice again, working fine. I would not hesitate in calling Gas monster again but hopefully our boiler will be good for another 11 years .

I used Gas Monster 4 years ago and when I think of it there were many points I was unhappy with, damage to carpet and ceiling due to the work and damage to kitchen wall where the new boiler was fitted. Last week I called as when moving the dishwasher I noticed the floor was wet and there was a small leak. I waited over a week for someone to come and received a bill for £99 which I have disputed and am awaiting a credit. The engineer was very helpful and commented on the shoddy work that the previous engineers did. He also said they were no longer working here which is good news.

Did what theybsaid they would do. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

So expensive it was cheaper to pay the £96 callout fee and pay Vaillant £285 for a fixed-price 'fix anything' call. I had an F.32 boiler fan fault. Sent an engineer who seemed somewhat unprepared - he had to phone Vaillant to get directions on how to confirm the fault, and his voltmeter battery was flat as well. Wish I'd asked for a quote up front for fan replacement, but so many 5* reviews here I didn't. Lesson learnt.

Two words...Diabolical, Untrustworthy. Inept & rude 'engineer' had no experience of our boiler type, continued to dismantle badly anyway. Decided boiler was 'probably missing parts' condemned boiler and left saying "you probably need a new boiler, but I'll check the internet for information pertaining to your boiler & get back to you", Heard nothing more apart from a large bill! Have since had boiler repaired and serviced by a competent & experienced engineer. I would seriously avoid this company, who charge the earth for doing nothing of any use.

They may be good for a small job like change the tap, but my experience with changing applaiances in bathroom was just nightmares. The staff not responsible for what they are doing. Just new bede was removed and fitted 3 times. The job was done not honestly and every small details to be checked. I still receive invoices, I payed 3 weeks ago!
