Dorset Solar Solutions installed our system at the end of 2025. Martin and Amy were very helpful in understanding our requirements, guiding us through the application and installation process. The actual installation (including scaffolding) was carried out as planned, and to time and cost. The work area was left in a clean and tidy state and the actual performance of the system has been entirely in line with the initial projections. It was good to get such excellent and professional service, and to be able to support a small local business.
From initial design meeting, to completion- Dorset Solar Solutions were professional. We had 10x panels, 12kw battery and a smart inverter. The installation was neat and tidy. The admin (Amy) was really responsive. The roofing element was done with care. Very happy with the installed product. On a bright day we generate 35Kw, use about 7Kw a day and export 28Kw, about £3.40 In the 6 weeks since the installation we’ve use 6p a day from the network. All our electrical demand is satisfied via the real time generation or the battery. Our electric annual bill was £750, which should be under £300 including the winter dark days, that £300 will be offset with £1000 of SEG payment. Playing with the figures, we feel 5 years to get full pay back and say 10 years of full fat free energy and money coming back in. We are no longer burdened by energy Co’s and given world politics that’s a joy. All thanks to the DSS Ltd’s team, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

The roofers worked tirelessly to hide all the cables so we were left with a reality modern and super slick finish. Fantastic installation. The entire process was simple. It started with me getting a quote from my energy supplier and I then sought another quote for comparison. Dorset Solar Solutions weren’t just 20% cheaper like for like but they recommended a bigger battery for even less money. Once we’d got DNO approval the installation was done quickly and it’s a really neat job. Martin took time to explain the modes and how to use the app. It’s all working exactly as it should be.

Amy and the team have been superb, very organised and proactive, we built 4 new houses which they installed the solar panels for, we had a delay with the mains electricity so could not commission the works immediately, they have kept in regular contact to see when they could get in, and been very accommodating as not all plots went live on the same day. Discussed the options, provided information for all the products and took account of what I was hoping to achieve. It was all very well installed at a very reasonable cost and even the main contractor on the project commented on how well it was done! On attendance we could tell Martin was very knowledgeable about the products on offer and showed us plans on the best place to have the solar panels for effectiveness. Highly recommend Martin and Amy @ Dorset Solar Solutions. They took so much care in explaining the process of installing our solar panels and took the time to listen to our needs and tailor the quote to our requirements. The communication was above and beyond and there was minimal disruption when the solar panels were installed. I recently had a solar only installation by Dorset Solar Solutions and would strongly recommend them to anyone that is considering the same. From the office side, Amy was quick to respond to my questions and was accommodating when I kept changing my mind about the final equipment I wanted fitted. During the initial site visit Martin was great at looking at my specific requirements and only recommended what I actually needed (no trying to upsell me on products or brands like I had elsewhere). The installation was all done in a day and has been done to a great standard. I would certainly use them again should I decide to add further panels or a battery in the future.

Early March this year I decided to purchase a solar panel system and asked a couple of local suppliers to quote. I decided to go with Dorset Solar Solutions based on Martin's expertise and competitive quote. When Martin first came he discussed a few options and over the next few days answered all of my questions in a professional and knowledgable way. The installation went smoothly with no problems and I now have a working battery and solar panel system which supplies 99% of my electrical energy. I now use less than 1Kwh per week and I have exported 550 Kwh in the last 2 months, which I am sure is more than predicted. I fully recommend DSS if you are thinking of going solar. Martin has a wide experience of different solar configurations. His wife Amy is always at the end of the phone to take messages and look after all the paper work. You will not get any hard sell or pressure from Martin, just sensible advice. Don't be fooled by glossy sales literature, this guy knows what he is talking about.

Can thoroughly recommend Dorset Solar Solutions. Martin was happy to discuss less common arrangements for solar, so that we could get as many panels as was sensible on our bungalow (20 in the end) that Octopus Energy were just not interested in doing (they only suggested 9). I didn't feel at any point like suggestions were being made to ease his job and at no point were any pressure sales tactics applied. All information about the design and the ongoing process were very well communicated, which is also a great testament to Amy on the other end of the emails! DSS dealt with all the G99 applications, the structural calculations for the flat roof install and everything else. It was a very easy process for us. After all the paperwork was completed, Martin was able to do the job just a couple of weeks later. A few days prior to install, a small scaffolding rig was put up. Then it was pretty much all installed in 2 days - first day electrics were done (with no more than an hour of the electric switched off) and second day the roofers and Martin installed all the panels and wired them up. The work was left tidy after each day, and Martin made good any holes they had to make for wires to pass through. The workmanship looks great too. They even went above and beyond to fix around 6 tiles on our roof that were cracked, going to a local reclamation yard to get matching tiles. Some issues with our battery were sorted quickly (Martin was great at badgering GivEnergy support). In the end, a firmware update of the battery meant it all started working. I would highly recommend this local company.

Martin and Amy at DSS helped us navigate through the complications of updating a legacy FiT system installed in 2011. I have lost count of the number of companies who have surveyed and quoted and left us unsure of the FIT compliance of the proposed project. From the start DSS understood the importance of coming up with a solution that was FIT compliant. They provided paperwork for both G99 and details for our FIT licensee (Ovo). Within a very short lead-time, the work was undertaken in a day in a very professional, neat and friendly way. The end result is we have updated our ageing grid-tie inverter, added an AC coupled battery and inverter and improved the data communications. Excellent work!

I can thoroughly recommend Dorset Solar Solutions. They did an excellent job fitting 5 extra panels on the front of my house. They also rectified the fault I had with the panels I had on the back of my house which were fitted in December by another company. I can't praise them enough. Really lovely family-run business! They were extremely prompt in providing myself and my partner with a quote for solar panels.
