We installed solar panels and battery storage as part of grant funding from the local authority in early 2026. By the time our application was approved in November 2025 we had just less than 3 months to complete the project. Mark and his team were so helpful and encouraging - they managed the project for us from start to finish within budget and timescales. Their technical knowledge and installation techniques are second to none. They did what they set out in their quotation in a technically professional way but at the same time were considerate to our business users. We had no knowledge of them before we started our search for a partner to work with and they could not have done any more for us. After a bad experience with a previous Heat Pump Engineer we had poorly installed pipework and several leaks on our system. We called Solar Plus for assistance and have to say a big thank you to Callum and Daniel for the work they did for us last week. They uncovered some really bad work by the previous engineer and put it all right. Throughout, they were polite, totally professional and kept us fully informed throughout the visit. I would highly recommend Solar Plus Yorkshire for reliable and friendly support! They have just repaired our solar panel system over 11 years since it was installed (a tenant removed a piece of equipment which prevented the FiT meter from recording) but they remembered doing the work and understood and explained the likely issue immediately. In an era where good customer service is rare, their communication was excellent as was their customer service throughout. Having been messed around by a previous company who we discovered were a new setup, we are now delighted with our new solar and battery aet-up installed by Solar Plus Yorkshire. Solar plus Yorkshire fit a solar array on my house in 2010 .They did an excellent installation,very professional and a real top class job so much so that 15 years later it is still working at full capacity and never had any problems at all I have recently needed some advice on heat pumps and Mark went above and beyond to help This company really are still the best and have no hesitation in recommending them

I have a solar and battery system that I purchased from a company that have since gone out of business. My app was showing a fault and my batteries had stopped charging and discharging. I phoned Mark, who sent someone out the next day to have a look and see what the problem was. The system had been incorrectly installed and had just stopped working. Marks team spent a lot of time speaking with the battery supplier/manufacturer to ascertain the problem. They repaired the system and it’s working correctly again. Solar Plus Yorkshire recently completed a PV installation at our house in Ripon. Whilst we initially started the PV journey with a Utility Company , I soon realised I would be better served by looking for someone more local to complete the work. A more personal service I thought. I made contact with Solar Plus Yorkshire who are based in Boroughbridge. Mark returned my call and the rest is history. Mark and his team carried out a first class installation which included a PV system with associated battery and supplemental auto diversion hot water heating add on. Thanks Very Much to all.

Asked for someone to come out to troubleshoot a poorly performing existing set of solar panels. Advice given that the tree in the back garden was blocking the light. Invoiced for £180 for a 'solar survey' and then did not receive any reply to two further requests for a quote to upgrade the system, as was promised during this 'survey'. Didn't need to pay £180 to be told a tree was the problem.

Solar Plus Yorkshire Ltd fitted an Edi and Harvi device to our existing solar system as well as some undertaking maintenance work on the panels. Mark is clearly very knowledgeable concerning renewable energy systems and his advice was both professional and very useful. The Edi was installed promptly and efficiently and now controls my immersion heater on a daily basis providing me with useful analysis of power generation - all exactly as described by Mark. The team returned very promptly to resolve a minor issue with the system and also undertook some extra maintenance work re-securing a panel on my roof, I was very grateful that this could be completed quickly before the storms of the next few days. I had my panels installed in 2014. Now, 10 years later I needed help with upgrading them and I must say that Solar Plus Yorkshire have been excellent in coming out on site immediately and sorting out the upgrade very quickly. Good after sales service seems to be a rarity today, but I cannot fault Solar Plus Yorkshire for their service. I can confidently recommend this company to anyone considering having Solar Panels fitted.

Mark has years of experience in the solar field and this really shows as he is so knowledgeable in all aspects. He takes great pride that things should be done correctly. I’m very grateful to Mark/ Solarplus for all his help and advice. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Solarplus were initially contacted as our old solar thermal system needed draining for a new boiler and tank install. They noticed that the system which was 30 years old, was not worth reconnecting and as we had a solar PV system which had been installed a year ago by another local solar company they advised that we could use our excess solar to heat the water tank via an IBoost system. It was then pointed out that our solar PV system was not installed correctly to fitting instructions and may cause problems with insure/warranty down the line. Another company who gave us a quote also picked up on the same issues re installation. We contacted the original company who said it was installed correctly. As we had a conflict and our not experts ourselves we were told to contact NICEIS governing body. Work has begun to correct the points raised. Without Mark’s advice we would have been unaware of this.

We called Solar Plus in to give advice on an installation by another company that we were unhappy with. Mark was extremely helpful and gave us a comprehensive report and photos. We will have no hesitation in using him to rectify our system should our complaint be upheld.

My solar generation meter stopped working. I spoke with Mark who called later that day and Callum came and fitted a new meter the next morning! Mark is very knowledgeable about solar and indeed all aspects of heating and sustainable green energy. He is able to advise on what works well and what can be improved. Solar Plus Yorkshire installed our Solar panels 9 years ago . Recently we have upgraded to battery storage - this has been a quick , efficient process as always with Solar Plus Yorkshire.

The company recently removed, cleaned and reinstalled my solar panels as I was having a new roof. They also fitted a new pigeon net, which was of a much higher standard than old one which wasn't really up to standard. The work was done to Mark's usual high standard and they were very efficient. Mark, as always, was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Mark has years of expertise and experience in installing heat pumps, and he makes sure you understand the options and how they fit your needs. We had had quotes from other firms who just visited and told us what they were going to install. After a long initial phone discussion with Mark, Callum came to do a heat survey of the house so we could understand our heating requirements. Mark sourced a Stiebel Eltron heat pump and water tank/control unit at a very good price, and we decided to add an Internet Service Gateway and a room sensor to help regulate the temperature. Our house is very well insulated, and we found we didn’t need to replace the radiators. Callum did a great job on the installation, helped by George and occasionally Jack. They worked quietly and considerately, and were helpful in some small changes of plan – the water tank ended up in the garage instead of the utility room. The radiators were all rebalanced very carefully, and Mark was very concerned that the holes in the wall left by the boiler should be made good as unobtrusively as possible. The Stiebel Eltron pump is one of the quietest on the market, and makes no more noise than the boiler used to do. Stiebel Eltron engineers visited several times, and they can make adjustments remotely via the Internet Service Gateway. Our underfloor heating in the kitchen was not responding very well (it’s obviously a bit sparse in the pipework) but it has now been reset so it’s toasty warm again. We were very pleased with Solar Plus – they are more concerned to make sure you have the right system and are happy with it, than to give you the hard sell.

Contacted Solar Plus along with 3 other potential installers looking at a combined 6kW and Battery system for an old Victorian house. Dealings with Mark showed him to be very friendly, knowledgeable and driven and over the course of discussing our requirements and reworking the designs the team came twice to assess the house. With an old house roof I was very reassured that age/ difficulty of access and securing the slate were part of their assessment process and decided to go with Mark and the team. Couldn't have been happier with the decision- installation team of Callum, George & Jack were all great guys to have at the house and took late design changes and challenges that the house threw at them in their stride- with the difficulties install took longer than predicted but was all handled by solar plus without complaint. Mark was always available throughout and onsite himself at several points. Approach was definitely to advise and there was no hard sell of any product- am delighted with the system we've got and the service we've had from solar plus and would (and have) recommend(ed) them to others. A chance meeting with Mark and a half hour conversation convinced me I had found the write man in Mark and his company for my solar / battery project. His knowledge on the subject is encyclopedic! Mark has years of expertise which come through and can compare the different systems and options around components such as the importance of good panel rails on the market without any pressure. His knowledge of the subject is infectious and he keeps in touch and will often take calls from previous sales to see how their systems are doing and if there are any issues. The team of Jack and Callum are very professional in terms of managing and overseeing the project from fitting panels to the installation of inverter, batteries and iboost for water heating. We are using one of the Octopus tariffs and have noticed large savings on our bills over the relatively few months they panels have been installed. We would totally recommend Solar Plus Yorkshire; we chose Solar Plus based on their expertise, not on being the cheapest quote around, and have not regretted it.

I had 6 solar panels (no battery) installed in July 2022, and since then I have reduced the intake of electricity by 60%, and in addition I am receiving credit on my bills for exporting surplus power to the national grid. The work carried out was exceptional, and expertly done by Mark and his team, and I would strongly recommend them for any such work in future. All-in-all, I consider the exercise to be a worthwhile venture.

The PV Professionals We approached Solarplus in May 2022 having decided that we wanted a solar PV system to reduce our electricity bills and to be independent of the grid for up to 24 hours if needed. We wanted a local firm with a proven track record and chose Solarplus because they met our requirements, being local based, highly experienced and professional. They knew exactly what they were doing and Mark, the owner who is very well versed with the manufacturers and options in the market, produced a very comprehensive and detailed proposal taking into account all our requirements. We were particularly concerned with maintaining the integrity of our roof and Mark put our concerns to rest with his recommendation of Schletter roof and rail fittings and the comprehensive roof sealing system, which has successfully sealed the roof against rain ingress. Mark ran a few scenarios based around our requirements and available roof space and he proposed a 12 panel array of J A Solar 385w panels with a nominal array output of 4.6 kw and a 3.6 kw inverter; as our roof is east facing and we can expect 80% - 85% of peak output due to this orientation. We also ordered 10 kw Pylontech batteries that we subsequently increased to 15 kw which, in hindsight, was the correct decision as they are fully charged by 14:00 hrs on most sunny days from April onwards. Furthermore we can’t praise the installation and commissioning team of Jack and Callum highly enough. They kept us informed on arrival times and scheduled activities, they were very knowledgeable and competent and professional as well as being respectful, polite, diligent and happy to answer any questions. They took their time over the installation and did a beautiful job installing the PV panels and wiring up and installing the inverter and batteries and connection it to our existing electrical system. Backup service is very important as you get to understand your PV system, although it can be as easy as fit and forget and Mark is easily contactable to resolve any queries. We would highly recommend Solarplus for PV installations.

We had our system, 11 panels, 2 batteries and the control system, fitted in Feb 2023 and it is doing every thing that it is supposed to do. The pricing was competitive, the workmanship was and and the system worked immediately and had been problem free. Solar plus fitted a solar panel and battery system for us in the Summer of 2022. A number of the national companies were very reluctant to carry out a site visit and proper survey prior to quoting. Solar plus did this, and proposed solutions to the issues of an old property with a slate roof and a meter in the cellar well away from the panels. Solar pus proposed a solution which maximised the production from our available roof space. The roof work was carried out to a high standard. Cable runs to the meter and the electrical work in the cellar and loft was all was completed neatly. We have received all the necessary paperwork to enable us to be paid for the export of surplus production. We have been pleased with the output from our system. The combination of panels and batteries allow us to generate a positive net income form the system in the Summer months. I would have no hesitation in recommending Solar Plus and their team (Mark, Callum and Jack) to anybody thinking about installing solar panels.

Solar Plus recently fitted five solar panels and batteries on our house in Wetherby. They did an absolutely fantastic job. Having got a quote from a large national company before looking at local options we were really pleased how much more we were able to achieve with them. We had a PV system fitted in November 22 and a battery shortly after. Mark was extremely helpful from the outset and delivered everything as promised, his team were professional and prompt and I would absolutely recommend them. I did receive slightly cheaper quotes from the faceless national companies but I put a lot of value in using local companies and having somewhere to turn to with questions or if issues crop up. If you want it done right then spend the extra few quid!

Mark and his team worked hard in pretty awful weather to install a neat system that perfectly fits my needs. Talking to them was really easy, I had several WhatsApp video calls which helped me understand what I could have fitted and helped them understand what I wanted. They're not a big company, solar is what they do, so when you speak to them it's not some salesman who's only bothered about selling systems. There was no hard sell, just advice and options that helped me pick a system that would work on my house. When doing the installation they came on time, worked incredibly hard and didn't make a mess. Also they were nice people to deal with. The time between initially contacting them and having a finished system was about 3 weeks, I wasn't left waiting months for parts.

We have just had solar panels and battery installed by Solar Plus Yorkshire and are extremely satisfied with the work. We chose Solar Plus because of Mark’s extensive knowledge and expertise and that he placed great importance on installing the solar panels correctly and securely. Mark recommended two arrays of panels, one on the west facing roof and the other on the south facing roof. The installation work was carried out by Jack and his team to a very high standard; the team were dedicated, thorough and tidy, occasionally working in adverse conditions. They were also very helpful, they set up on our computer a link to view data from the inverter, enabling us to see how we are helping the environment. Whilst the panels/battery have not been in place long, we are really pleased with the performance.

Mark attended our property due to issues with our heating, not only was he quick to visit us after we phoned but quickly resolved the issue. We were interested in some of the other services he provided including Solar Panels to which he was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs. Mark in particular is the sort of man who will always go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. All in all and excellent service provided and would highly recommend the company to anyone looking for a very high standard of work.

Just had solar panels installed at Steenbergs Organic Fairtrade spices, herbs, seasonings and... by SolarPlus Yorkshire Limited. They've been great, very dedicated to getting it right and working around the storms and horrendous weather. Very knowledgeable and experienced and shares our enthusiasm and passion for doing as much as possible to help the environment.

The manager Mark is very passionate about renewable technology. As well as fitting and maintaining solar panels, heat pumps and doing other electrical work, they can also repair roofs! I had some damaged tiles following some strong winds and they very professionally replaced the damaged tiles. Highly recommended.
