Straightforward, helpful staff

The staff are super helpful and friendly. However, it would be better if they had a recycle bin for plastic as I am sure you would do a lot for the environment if you recycled all the plastic. At the moment it just goes into household waste which I guess is not recycled.

On a couple of occasions I’ve had where I’d swear I’ve definitely booked, had no email and just been too busy - turned up and my booking isn’t there. Despite it being practically empty, we are turned away. I’d understand more if it’s busy - wasted journey to recycle. I’ll just find another way to get rid of it which isn’t recycling.

Two Very helpful young men today when I turned up with a few heavy bits of wood offered to carry them. Great job lads .

One staff member here has definitely had a charisma bypass. Rude and very unhelpful. I’ll be happy to use somewhere else next time. Avoid the place if you can.

Got turned away cause I turned up in a van on Sunday but I had a permit for every Hampshire tip.... Except paulsgrove? Why on earth do I need a paulsgrove specific one? Next time I'll just dump it in the bush outside.

The amenity tip is really handy.. I've been doing lots of DIY at home lately & it's surprising how much waste you generate..the booking system means you rarely have to wait in the queue for very long.. great service

Helpful staff but rather busy

Booked online, straight in, hoyed all my unwanted stuff right into the skip, said thanks to the staff and left. Done and dusted in 10 minutes. Also a hugely satisfying smash as an old mirror clattered into the bottom of the skip. 7 years bad luck? Ha, I’ve been married 10 years already!

Made an error on my booking page and ended up being a day late (accept this was my mistake) despite the fact they were nearly empty I was turned away and had to rebook (an hour later) when they were busier than the earlier visit... absolutely crazy set up! A little common sense needed one thinks !!

Booking system is good, but the skips are not always clearly labelled. For example, good quality items to be sold in the shop go where car batteries are at the end. No sign for that. Staff are either silent or not very polite, even though you are trying to separate items into the correct skips.

I've used this tip a lot in the past 3 years; its an excellent service, helpful staff, organised, and an excellent seconds shop. They have a massive grip on recycling anything I bring. Thank you Port Solent tip team.

Booked a Christmas night out for our wonderful staff. Table for 10, everything was perfect. The food, the service (very friendly and accommodating) no waiting, great music - everyone enjoyed themselves, would certainly come again. Well done and thank you :)

Although it's a bit of a pain to have to book an appointment, it does kinda guarantee a more orderly experience than you sometimes used to get at the tip! There's plenty of space to park up and get stuff out of the car 😀 The site was tidy, and the guys were cheerful and helpful, which is also a pleasant change from some experiences I've had elsewhere 😀 Opening hours are shortest from 1 Oct - 28 Feb(0900-1600), and then change for March (0900-1700) and 1 Apr-30 Sep (0900-1800)

The staff were very helpful, I didn't know that I had to book, but I do now, they let my friend and I in though we didn't book, the rest of the staff were very helpful with guilding us to the correct bins for my rubbish ect.

Quick in and out

Car Batteries recycled here. Easy to find, smallish but wasn't too busy. I thought the reuse shop (rescued furniture etc) was a great idea, especially for those who like to upcycle furniture.

The smell here isn't too bad considering it's a rubbish dump. The staff are helpful and friendly. There is also a little shop that sells salvaged items. The online booking process is a bit annoying and you can't book on the same day. It's close to the restaurants so you can treat yourself to some lunch afterwards to reward your hard work at the tip.

Can recycle most things here including flourecent light bulbs/tubes. Have to pre-book but not busy at 5pm on a Saturday.

I have been there twice. Staff were friendly and helped me. They do hard job over there.

Good stuff to buy but staff not very friendly unless it benefits them.

Been going to this recycling centre for years, recently almost daily for 2 weeks. The staff who work there are constantly pleasant, helpful and usually smiling, even in inclement weather. I'm not as strong as I used to be and they have always assisted me without any hesitation and always with a smile and a little banter or advice. I leave with a smile.

As well as being able to dispose of items you'd expect to at a tip,they also have a book bank, clothes/textiles bins, bottle banks etc so you can recycle /clean out everything in one go. Staff are super friendly, always happy to assist/direct you.

Just like to say as iv done a few visits to the Paul’sgrove tip , how well organised it was and how friendly the staff are especially the lady at the entrance , she helped me out and was very professional and polite. Hopefully will stay this way . From the lady in the black corsa.

Having been coming to this tip for years and always had great experiences but this Saturday the 6th February 2021 what an awful experience. One Staff member was rude and unhelpful and only seemed to enforce the rules for certain people. Picked on my father who is disabled. Not sure of his name but was Wearing a Burberry cap. This man needs talking absolutely disgusting let’s the whole team down there.

Well managed and pre bookings is something which could be adopted in normal times to keep queues to a minimum. There is a charge for some waste such as paving slabs used for garden items so make sure you know what is chargeable before hand.

There's nothing like going to the tip to get rid of stuff, very therapeutic. I think the booking system should stay. If it does, it would be great to be able to book 10 days ahead also. It's so easy to book and very little or no waiting. It's kept nice and clean and the signs are spot on.

To be really honest, the appointment system which is currently running because of the current restrictions appeared to work better than pre covid. No queuing except for two minutes awaiting a free bay. Thank you to all staff. Stay safe.

Now on a booking only visit. Didn't know as I haven't used for a few months. They let me get rid of my rubbish as I was moving house today. Good to see common sense in play rather than a jobs-worth.

Very impressed with my visit yesterday considering current circumstances. Young Lady at the gate was very polite and helpful, site was clean and well prepared. Helpful staff, well done port solent recycling centre!

Given the current situation and restrictions, no problem at all, minimal wait and plenty of space and social distancing.

Booked in,turned up then told I wasn't booked in and that my permit for Hampshire doesn't include Portsmouth tips thanks for wasting my time and money spent on a permit that I can't use because you have now decided to change were Portsmouths location is.that it is now no longer part of Hampshire as clipboard man told me,or is this just the usual discrimination against van users at the tips?

Lovely young man helped me with a tumble drier, got me wheels to use could not have been more friendly or helpfull dispute covid restrictions and the pouring rain.

Been to the tip today. Met by a lovely man who gave us all the dos and don’ts. Queries was only 10 mins. Very impressed by the lay out and by the cheerfulness of the staff. They were happy and helpful and it was nice to have a laugh with them. Well done team.

Three times now I have loaded my car with household waste, three times I have driven to the tip to be met by bouncers, well again I was told that I had the wrong registration on my vehicle.. I did try to telephone the given number before I left home seems they were too busy playing god to answer it. I have worked throughout the current civid 19 crises, I actually help in the manufacture of ventilators for the greater good of the community, perhaps if I was a layabout they would lay a red carpet for me.

Manager is a sweetheart, and rest of the crew are great.social distancing is in order and being executed well. Queues atm can be long and operating on a numberplate basis. Odd veichle date on Fri, even Saturday, etc

Always helpful, doing a good job for us all, and organised, management are very understanding and helpful, keep within their guidelines, and you wont need to mention rudeness, they have to keep the centre organised, good job.

Travel down from bognor to have a look in the shop there's always something that catches my eye. All the people who work there are very friendly especially Sarah who runs the shop.

Had quite a bit of wood to throw away, and without me even asking, one of the men that worked there started unloading some of it from my car and taking it to the bin for me. I was really grateful. Thankyou for the help. The people that work there are always really helpful and friendly.
