I’d been looking into solar and battery systems for about a year and kept running into companies that just tried to push the setup they normally install, rather than what I actually wanted. I got in touch with DMH Electrical and Renewables and it was a completely different experience. Dan properly listened to what I needed and put together a system that was exactly right for me. He clearly knows his stuff and was happy to answer all my questions. The whole process was straightforward and stress-free. The work was done to a really high standard – clean, tidy, and the lads were great. A week after everything was installed I even got a courtesy call just to check how I was getting on and whether I needed any help. Really good family-run business. I’d highly recommend them – not only is the company excellent, but the price was fantastic too.

We had our set-up installed by DMH in April this year, and we love it. Solar panels, batteries, inverter and car charger. It is wonderful to see the significant reduction in our energy bills, and on a sunny day, I love watching the car charge up completely free of charge! Highly recommend this company.

Absolutely smashing. I would recommend DMH to everyone. I had Jay for my install in Newcastle. He didn’t leave a hair out of place at my property and the work carried out is so tidy I couldn’t want for better. Everything from quotation to paperwork, surveys to the install and setup went smoother than I could have imagined. The whole process was seamless and effortless. Right from the first contact, Dan and the DMH team have been superb. Dan visited the house quickly after contact , explained all the options and was very clear and transparent about costs. Kym was so helpful on the admin required and Jason and team who did the fitting were focused, polite and patient with my questions. Fitted an EV charger, very nice.

I highly recommend DMH Electrical and Renewables in Darlington. I requested a full solar panel system with batteries and a high‑performance inverter to support EV charging, a heat pump, and all electrical demand for a 5‑bed detached home. I also needed a more complex heat‑pump installation with an oil‑heating backup. The entire installation — solar system and heat pump — was completed in just four days, exactly as agreed. The team were professional, polite, and explained every step clearly. They used top‑quality materials and offered very competitive prices. Special thanks for Mr Daniel Holliday and his excellent colleague Mr Andy Beale (Heating Services, Middlesbrough), who handled the complex heat‑pump work flawlessly. Outstanding service, and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

We recently had solar panels and battery storage system installed by Dan and his team. The system is working better than we expected and we couldn't be happier with the service we received. From the initial consultation on the phone through to installation, the team was professional, friendly, and highly knowledgeable. They took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all our questions, and provided expert advice throughout the process. The installation was completed on schedule, and the team arrived exactly when they said they would. They worked efficiently, kept everything tidy, and showed great attention to detail. The quality of workmanship was excellent, and the whole process was smooth and hassle-free.

We approached DMH Renewables to further our renewable journey with a heat pump and Tesla Powerwall 3 expansion packs after having solar panels and a Powerwall 3 already fitted by our energy provider. Dan replied and explained everything in detail, sending out our expansion pack quote the next day. The heat pump was installed by their partner company Beale Heating. Andy, who is a HeatGeek approved installer explained everything that it could and would do to improve our energy bills and comfort. Installation week went smoothly with all mess at the end of the day cleaned up and all packaging and waste was removed at the end of the week. The handover was outstanding with everything explained twice just so we knew the controls etc etc. We are the proud owners of a heat pump. Dan and Jamie came to fit the Tesla expansion packs and after a shaky start (from the previous installation), the packs were fitted behind one another, again all nice and neat. Every bit of rubbish was cleaned up at the end of the day. The app was updated and the set up was commissioned. If you need or are looking for renewables for your home then my wife and I can't recommend DMH Renewables and Beale Heating enough. Absolutely fantastic people who really do care for their customers and not just about chasing profit. Once again, THANK YOU, for the 5 star service and for passing on your knowledge to us as we go all electric.

Dan and his team recently installed 12 solar panels, solar skirting, and a 16kW Sigenergy battery with an EV charger at my home/business premises. From the outset, the service was excellent. Dan took the time to walk me through the options in detail, providing clear, factual figures and answering questions that some of the bigger companies simply couldn’t address. What really stood out was the tailored approach. Rather than a one-size-fits-all solution, the system was designed specifically around my needs, with the flexibility to expand in the future — exactly what I was looking for. The installation itself was quick, efficient, and very clean, with minimal disruption. Dan and his team were professional, reliable, and clearly take pride in their work. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a similar setup.

Excellent. Now that isn't a word that I use often, but it fits my experience here. The initial survey was done quickly, and Dan listened to my ideas (and asked questions to confirm that he understood my requirements). The quote was quick in arriving and was head and shoulders better than the other two quotes I obtained (from other companies). On accepting the quote, an install date was quickly suggested and agreed to. The installation (early March 2026) went well. The scaffolding (on my bungalow) went up the Wednesday before the installation begin date. The installation itself started on the following Monday AM. The expected noise (grinding tiles and drilling into roof joists) happened mostly on day one. I had also asked for an update to my old consumer unit, which was done and tested on day one as well. This wasn't part of the Solar PV/ Battery install, but I thought it'd be good to get it sorted at the same time. The fitting of the Sygenergy battery/inverter to the back wall, initially hit a small snag (wall fittings). This was quickly sorted (more robust fittings/bolts used). By the end of Tuesday (day 2) the install was basically done. The only hold up was sorting a minor communication cabling issue. Again, quickly sorted. The hand over to me was done on Wednesday morning (day 3). We did luck into a period of fine weather, that certainly made Dan and Jason's life a lot nicer. All in all I am very happy with both the system (Sygenergy battery/inverter and 450 watt solar panels) and the service that I received from Dan and Jason.

Extremely pleased with the install of solar and home battery storage by the DMH Electrical and Renewables team. Dan answered all questions on our first meeting so we could make an informed decision on our requirements. Install was carried out very professionally and I'm very pleased with the end result. The Sigenstor app is now running on AI mode and generating more returns than I expected so hopefully the pay off time will be reduced further. Can't recommend DMH Electricals enough. Update to this review, Dan has been back to install a ASHP which is now linked to my Sigenstor app. Once again very happy with Dan's work, very neat and very little disruption.

DMH installed our SolarEdge PV system (24 optimised solar panels and 2 batteries with home backup) in September 2025. Our house has previously been extended so it has a mixture of roofs with various aspects and some low pitches plus shading from dormer windows etc, meaning there was a fair bit of work involved. It was their informative social media and YouTube content that initially led us to contact DMH particularly as we were keen to use a fairly local company. And from first meeting Dan during the house survey / quote stage, through to subsequently having the work carried out by him, Jay and Josh (the latter’s first job as the DMH apprentice - good to see a local company offering apprenticeships!), they continued to impress throughout the whole process, working very hard and obviously taking great pride in their work. The final product (from the in-garage batteries & inverter etc to the on-roof panels) has been finished to a high standard and looks very impressive. The use of Solar Skirt (bird proofing) on the panels at the front of the house was the ‘icing on the cake’ in terms of aesthetics. The solar / battery installation followed on from the installation of an Air Source Heat Pump system in July, also procured via DMH in partnership with Beale Heating Services. And again the work and commitment of Andy and his team from Beales was very impressive and is to be highly commended. The heat pump replaced an ageing, inefficient and increasingly unreliable gas combi-bolier. Having one company to lead on both the solar and heat pump aspects, in effect providing a blended solution, was a key benefit for us in moving towards a renewables package, with the twin goals of achieving a comfortable home and a good degree of energy security in the years ahead. It is early days for both systems but the signs are very positive. The heat pump provides plenty of hot water and comfortable heating on the recent cool late-summer evenings and mornings. Typically the weather turned wet and gloomy for the first two days after the SolarEdge system was commissioned but the solar generation was still pretty decent - even filling the batteries on day-2, which exceeded our expectations in that kind of weather. Writing this on the first sunny day since then the results are starting to look very, very good indeed. One of the most impressive aspects of working with DMH and Beales was from start to finish it felt more like a long-term partnership between us and them, rather than just a one-off commercial client / customer arrangement. Highly recommended.

Dan and Jay installed a 10 kWh Sigenstor battery and inverter in our garage. Job included digging a trench across the driveway and reconfiguring the wiring at the consumer unit to ‘hide’ my EV from the battery. Job done efficiently and neatly. Very knowledgable on renewables. Highly recommended.

Dan and Jason fitted my EV Charger, they were both super friendly. My garden needed digging up to facilitate but you wouldn’t know they’ve been and cleared all extra soil etc Dan even sorted my outside light for me while he was there. Highly recommend

18 Solar panels and 2 batteries fitted with minimal damage to the house considering the awkward location of the DB. Completed within 4 days. Dan kept us informed of progress and instructions on how it all works with a follow-up phone call.

What a cracking good business to deal with. Very clear precise information to accommodate my requirements with a suitable system which in this case is the Tesla Battery. Dan is a very easy fella to deal with and his knowledge of renewables is Fantastic. Both Dan and Jay are also good tidy and efficient installation engineers. They even removed all the packaging that came with the equipment. I can't fault DMH Electrical for their service. I will without doubt use them again.

Initially booked with Octopus but they messed me around with continuous cancellations and the difference in service Dan and his team gave was night and day. Had a Zappi 2 fitted today by Dan and Jay. They arrived promptly within 15 minutes of the agreed time and started work promptly. The job proved to be a bit more difficult than anticipated and ended up with Dan and Jay climbing under the floorboards to pull the cable through, they are very much like a married couple and constantly bouncing jokes off each other which made it an enjoyable environment whilst they were in the house. My wife was originally a sceptic on getting it fitted as she originally wanted it hidden away somewhere which wasn't going to be practical but in her words afterwards "It actually looks really smart". Their quote was competitive and totally in line with industry standards and expectations (checked in my son’s engineering firm). I highly recommend them if you want solar power and battery storage. Note that you may need to take some of the cardboard packing to the tip yourself.
