Elmbridge Heating & Plumbing

We’ve just used EHP to replace our hot water cylinder, remove old tanks and pumps and fix a toilet. They were with us for more than two days. I’m really pleased with the service we’ve received. A couple of points in particular. The team in the office were helpful, responsive and efficient. This is important, it makes the whole process smoother. It allows the plumbers on the ground to concentrate on the job in hand, they are not taking calls to discuss other jobs, deal with other customers or trying to plan their schedules. They are in your home, focussed on your plumbing. The plumbers are very knowledgeable and experienced. They took the time to explain things and helped us understand the options to improve our system. James, Dean and Leo were all good and polite. They cleaned up after themselves and the quality of the work was high. Stephen also spent a lot of time discussing options with us on the work, which was appreciated. There was also no upsell. They quoted for what we asked and then stuck to those prices; if we wanted to look at additional work, they then took the time to discuss pros and cons, but left the decisions to us. They might not be the cheapest firm in the market, but, as with most things in life, you do get what you pay for. We will certainly use them again: efficient, a good service and very nice people.

Appointed Elmbridge Heating and Plumbing to assess my boiler after it stopped working and paid their £118 fee for a quick 30 minute inspection. Was told the boiler was a write-off and not worth fixing and they gave me an extortionate quote for a replacement. I expressed my concern that the quote was too high and was told they would see what they could do. I never heard back. After going out to the market, I got multiple cheaper quotes and ultimately ended up paying 30% less for exactly the same boiler and installation work. Seems like this company are only interested if you accept their unfairly high prices but dont want to know if you say youre going to get other quotes.

Elmbridge Heating and Plumbing did a good job. Used them because previous owner had for installing boiler. They came and diagnosed a condensate pipe blockage, then did a good job with the fix agreed. Their charges are quite high, but was a quick turnaround which I appreciated during cold weather.

The best place to go if you are desperate. They helped me straight away. Lovely people in office. They have the best 👌 engineers. Very organised and very clean to. 10 🌟 🌟 🌟

We had been customers of this company for years. Few weeks ago I thought I could smell gas, so we rang them to come and check. There was no gas leak and not issues. No repairs. Taking the opportunity that the plumber was at home, my husband asked him to service the boiler. Since then our digital screen has issue connecting with the boiler and we are having to do it manually. When we call them, agreeing to pay for whatever work, they insisted on also having a call charge. We should not have had to pay for either in all honesty as the issue was caused by them and their ‘servicing’ of the boiler. Very disappointing.

Absolutely SUPERB service. Called as I had an emergency and they came within 15 minutes and solved the problem with the system in my house in less than an hour. We had Ian who was so professional - couldn’t fault my experience at all.

Exceptional Service I called EHP and explained that the insulation on the loft tank had fallen into the tank and blocked all pipes. The owner came out within 45 minutes, reviewed and assessed the situation and then explained all options available. As anticipated this was a big job that would ordinarily take in my opinion two or three days to complete, as it required a new boiler and removal of loft tanks. plus removal of a cylinder tank with new piping installed. The work was prioritized - even though I was a first time customer - as I had no water. I called on a Friday for help, and 5 men turned up bright and early on Monday and by 4pm work all completed, and my problem resolved. Fantastic service carried out by professionals with the minimum of fuss. I have no hesitation in calling them back for any future plumbing or heating requirement I may have in the future.

We've had problems with our heating foe over a year with multiple plumbers coming out and proposing fixes that were not successful for very long. However, elmbridge were able to come out access the problem, talk us through the problem and solution. We've finally got reliable heating. Great workmanship, tidy, reliable and honest. Highly recommend!

I am so grateful to the team at Elmbridge Heating and Plumbing for their quick, efficient and friendly service when I was left without heating or hot water when my boiler broke down a few days pre Christmas. Their initial response was very fast and the price given for replacement was very fair. The two plumbers who carried out the work both went out of their way (and I think worked beyond their usual hours!) to get the whole system serviced and a new boiler up and running within a day and a half. Elmbridge Heating & Plumbing recommended and fitted our pressurised heating and hot water system 16 years ago! When we lost pressure today they turned up within hours of being called, diagnosed the problem and gave me a repair price which they kept to exactly. The friendly heating engineer efficiently repaired the boiler and cleared away the faulty parts and associated mess. Highly recommended local business which I will continue to use.

I was really impressed by EHP, from the out-of-hours whatsapp service, to their flexibility, to their service. Ian came to replace a motorised valve on our boiler and could not have been nicer or done a better job. I will 100% call them again should we need heating repairs.

Last time we had a problem with our central heating we called EH&P and they were very good, so when I had a different problem this year, they were the first people I called. They have been equally good this time. Friendly and, efficient and gave me excellent service. He turned up exactly as arranged and now everything is working perfectly again. We had an urgent need for help to repair a shower leak that was causing damage to our kitchen ceiling below. EPH were very helpful and the owner of the company himself visited promptly to diagnose the issue on the same day. Ian then attended the following day and did an amazing job repairing the leak. Fantastic Service - Put My Parents' Minds at Ease! I can't recommend EP&H highly enough! We decided to use them after our neighbours had a fantastic experience with their new combi boiler installation and we're so glad we did. My parent's experience with boiler problems started rough - another company we called out ended up leaving them with no central heating or hot water, which was incredibly stressful for my elderly parents. Thankfully, the Owner/Manager at EP&H was an absolute lifesaver (and legend). He was incredibly patient and understanding and completely put my parents at ease at the call out. He talked them through everything clearly and arranged for a appointment for the boiler installation really soon after the call out. The engineers who came out were just as fantastic (not to mention B on Admin). The team were friendly, professional and really knowledgeable. One of the engineers, Dean, explained everything he was doing throughout the process and made sure my parents (who aren't the most tech-savvy) felt comfortable with the new combi boiler. He even went the extra mile by showing us how to use the controls on the hive and answering our questions no matter how big or small. It's clear that EP&H prioritises customer service and it shows. They turned a stressful situation into a positive one and now my parents have a reliable boiler and peace of mind. Thank you so much!

Don’t go there! We had a new boiler installed last year and we have had nothing but problems since. After a third call out we were told we need a new pump as the one we have is too small for the new boiler and you would think they would of realised when they fitted the boiler in the first place and want to charge a bomb for something that should of be done at the time of installation. Plus two upstairs radiators they installed have never worked unless you bleed them and that doesn’t work either now. To top that they were very rude to my mother when she contacted them and she could here them slate her in the back round on one of her calls. Also they always cancel our appointments to the next day or week. After our boiler breaking down again and no heating or hot water they cancelled our appointment again, what brilliant service

Have used EP&H a number of times since moving into our home a couple of years ago. I most recently called them after my hot water had stopped working. A friendly and professional engineer attended promptly the next morning and got the issue diagnoses and fixed within an hour or so. A great reliable service which is very important. I’m not sure why they seem to have poor reviews? The only drawback I can identify is they do seem a little more expensive than other local tradesmen.

We had a leak under our kitchen floor and were let down by British Gas on the day they were due to come in to repair. I called Elmbridge quite desperate and upset not knowing how big the leak was, where exactly it was and what to do to resolve, considering that we have a brand new kitchen and new floors etc. Steven was in the area and arrived soon after to assess, he was very reassuring and informative. He assured me that they are very experienced with these situations and my lovely new kitchen would be fine. I immediately felt at ease! He booked in the work for the very next day. Ian arrived on time and worked tirelessly to find and resolve the problem. Very pleased with all my interactions with Elmbridge Heating and Plumbing from my first call with Debbie who got someone to come round quickly, through to our problem been resolved the very next day.

Had a re-arranged (due to their previous cancellation) boiler service booked in between 9am to 1pm. Got a call at 10.20am stating they were running late. By 3.20pm no-one had arrived so I called the office and they advised that my slot had been pushed to 1pm to 5pm and that the plumber was local to me so shouldn't be long. I finally got a call at 5.20pm stating that the plumber could be with me in half hour. Completely unacceptable and don't appreciate re-arranging my day only to be taken for a ride.

Very happy with the service I received. The call out was initially for a radiator valve but during the visit, I asked about another problem that we had and that was diagnosed quickly and the replacement for that (expansion chamber) also fast and efficient at a good price too. Everything is working very smoothly now. Thanks to Dan and Steve for being such a safe pair of hands on this. Very professional and responsive.

We have used this company for about 9 years since moving to Surrey and they’ve generally been okay for boiler services and minor repairs. However we wish we had researched more thoroughly when we needed the boiler replacing as they have not been good when things went wrong a few months later. We had never dealt with the owner previously and unlike his staff he is rude and argumentative. And when we had a visit from Worcester Bosch the engineer left us with a statement the the boiler was not fitted to current standards. Our quotation for the new boiler also included an eight year warranty but they have only given us seven and are now ignoring our emails. We will use a different company in future.

AVOID. After paying for something to be looked at, was quoted an absurd amount for a shower pump to be replaced, when I asked for a cost breakdown no information could be given as to how this was calculated and was spoken to in a rude manner. Very quickly found another company to do for £275 cheaper with a clear breakdown. Have heard similar stories from neighbors Edit: this was last year, decided to review after hearing similar stories from neighbors. In no way exaggerated or ‘malicious’

DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER! Shame you have to issue any stars to post here, they dont deserve the 1 star! We had a new boiler fitted 3 weeks ago and it hasn't worked properly since. When calling them back out, we were changed a fee of £90 to attend the property (!) and was told 'i've checked everything including the valves and its all fine'. A week later its still not working properly and so we emailed for help again. On the second call out, the owner of the business attended the property, didn't introduce himself, demanded to see the boiler and then insisted that they would never have installed that boiler and that it must have been done by someone else. After it was verified that his firm did install the boiler, he didn't apologise and told us that a valve needed fixing (despite what we had been told a week before). When we asked if that wouldn't have been checked at the time of installation and he said yes, and the system drained. When we said that we didn't recall that happening, he became even more defensive and said 'he didn't want to get into an argument'. When we asked again, he headed for the front door and left leaving us standing in the hall dumbfounded. I have never been so insulted inside my own home and can only urge others to avoid this company at all costs. Check out the other reviews - too many other negative ones, wish we have checked first! PS - no quibble with the lovely Bettina who fields the calls for this company. You have my sympathies for working for such a brute!

We had a man come round to quote for replacing the bathroom and doing some plumbing in the kitchen. Seemed positive, knowledgable. Promised the quote the following day, that was two weeks ago. I sent several emails chasing and got replies promising the quote and nothing.

Great service provided. Kindly changed my appointment at short notice and had an engineer round within half an hour to service and repair a fault. I highly recommend.

In January 2021 they wired up the power supply to the replacement shower pump they installed to the same circuit that the hot water cylinder immersion heater is powered by. Result is the MCB trips out the power if the heater is on and the shower is started.

Had a leaking shower and the engineer came and identified the issue and put a stop to it. Came back the following day and fixed it. Very efficient and professional.

Really disappointing service from this company, I paid up front and was told the engineer would arrive at my property by lunchtime. I received no phone calls informing me why the engineer had still not arrived by 3pm. The call centre lady was extremely abrupt and very unapologetic. I then get told the engineer won’t arrive and can you stay in all day tomorrow! It seems they don’t really care once they’ve got your money. I was going to use them to replace my entire boiler but will now go elsewhere.

This is the third time we have have used this company. Again, we were extremely impressed by their speed of response, expertise and professionalism. Office staff were very helpful, and the engineer (Ian) excellent. Complex issue swiftly sorted!

Excellent service recieved from this company. Following the need to replace boiler the engineer who attended wore full PPE completed the job and completely tidied up everything including hoovering around the work area. We booked this company to check that we had the necessary connections required for an integrated dishwasher and for them to install the dishwasher. They came out within a few days was only here fleetingly but confirmed we had everything. We then requested a quote for the work, we never received this after chasing 2 or 3 times. After a couple of weeks we decided to book the installation directly with the retailer, who in turn said that we did not have everything required. We then had to book another company to come out, do the work and are now awaiting the retailer to install the dishwasher. Pretty poor service, we are now out of pocket more than we should have been due to the failed installation and have had an integrated dishwasher sitting in the middle of our kitchen for weeks.

My heating system works much better, the leaks are gone and I feel warm again all because Ian is a great plumber, worked like a trojan (and left no trace of his having been here). Very good company. HighleyRecommended.

Engaged with EH+P on account of their longstanding advert and great jingle on Radio Jackie. They came out as arranged, diagnosed the problem and went away to get the bits to deal with it. The 2 people that came round were very pleasant and tidied up behind them. Gave me their names in the case of further issues and that was that. I'd say that the job cost a little more than I would have hoped, but I feel a lot more comfortable dealing with a company that has a lot of visibility and issues formalised paperwork.

Expensive charge for simple work that could be done more than half-price cheaper with someone else. The old guy who came to survey the work gave wrong diagnosis and would suggest a totally unnecessary complicated job that would cost you a fortune. Not trustworthy. Avoid.

I am based in Chessington and recently had a problem with my boiler - called out Elmbridge plumbing and heating and problem was resolved that day. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Called Elmbridge for no heating and water. Had new Worcester Bosch boiler fitted within 48 hrs. Excellent service.

Life savers! New mum with a boiler that stopped working on a cold morning, they sent out an engineer (James) within an hour and it was fixed on the spot. Very clean and tidy and the service was excellent.

Turned on the heating for the first time since April and it wouldn't work. Elmbridge H&P came out the same day and found that the issue was with the Hive system and not the boiler itself. All sorted within 20 minutes. Very polite and knowledgeable engineer.

I rang after our gas boiler failed. Within 2 hours the boiler had been inspected and a replacement advised. Within a further hour I had a quotation for the installation and the work was completed within a further 4 days. All the staff involved were very pleasant and tidy. I was glad this work was done in August rather than January!

Oh dear... looks like the drivers of these two vans don't understand what a disabled parking bay is. If they're that uneducated, I'd hate to think what they're actually like as a company! I suggest these two drivers are shown the photos that I'll be sending to the company, and also the DSA of there total lack of incompetence!

No stars. Advertise they dont charge for a call out, then demanded to be paid. Not interested in fixing our problem, just wabted to flog a new boiler. AVOID!

Called out elmbridge heating & plumbing for under floor heating problem, gave me a fixed price, they were there longer than they said they would be but did not charge me anymore! Will defo use again

I had a problem with my heating, which three other companies failed to fix. But with one visit from Elmbridge heating and plumbing they found out what the problem was and fixed it within four hours. Would highly recommended them

NO STARS!!!!!!!...AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They came to look at a shower unit that they had installed. No work to be done. Charged us £80 for a call out!!!!

Dave the heating engineer was very pleasant and did a good job but the price was at least double what was fair. £414 incl VAT to replace a motorised valve which I had identified as the problem before they came.

I've used Elmbridge Heating and Plumbing for a couple of years. I've had two annual boiler services done and the internals of my toilet cistern replaced. Both the men who've been have arrived punctually, and I'm satisfied with the work done. The cost of the work isn't as cheap as some other companies, however I am happy to pay a bit more for fully accredited staff and good quality workmanship. I will continue to use them in future. Hugely overpriced, £260 for less than an hours work to fix a leaky toilet. No breakdown of parts and labour on invoice, will never use again.

I have used Elmbridge Heating & Plumbing for several years, I have found them to be expensive but reliable. However, I have just had a new Drayton RF1 fitted at huge cost - the engineer was here for 30 minutes or so, and charged £300. I thought this was very expensive. I have just done a quick search on Amazon and I could have bought the exact same part for £77.23, reduced from £166.34. I am not sure how Elmbridge can justify their prices. When I queried the price, I was told that I was getting a good price - it came to £318 plus VAT but they charged my £300 inclusive. So disappointed. 3 stars because they came when they said they would and did the job.
