Reviews of Jarrett Plumbing and Heating Ltd are mixed. Some customers praise professional, polite service and tidy work on boilers, heating systems and radiators, while others report flooding after installation, damage to shower panels, and poor communication. One reviewer says an engineer broke boiler hinges and the company first asked them to pay for the repair. Others describe problems with a heat pump installation, including repeated failed fixes and incorrect fitting of replacement parts. Several reviewers also report abrupt or arrogant customer service.
I hope his plumbing is better then his driving he has no care for anyone driving around him.
1 whole star is far too much. They don't treat their customers well. They came to fix my boiler but didn't connect everything properly and it flooded my hallway, cupboard and bedroom. Floor ruined too. Took the manager weeks to respond and his indifference to the problem was amazing. Yes, friendly engineers but incompetent.
Jarrett's did the plumbing for our new build. They had not fitted the pipes under the sink adequately and the pipe popped off and water flooded our kitchen. We recently removed the bath panel to find a half eaten moldy sandwich thrown under the bath, it has been there 3 years! Plumbers are often coming to the estate, there are issues for a lot of people. Awful company. Please please do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.
This company is a joke ! Please give a wide birth at all cost
Poor customer care. Jarrett Plumbing installed the shower (ensuite) in my new property built by Barratt Homes. The first time using the shower, a metal clip at the top of the shower door came off and we reported the to Barratt. On the day they came to fix this, noone was home and I got a voicemail about one of their workers outside my house when I was at work miles away. When I called them about this, I spoke with a very abrupt receptionist who told me she had called me prior to the visit to arrange this appointment. I informed her that I had not had such a conversation with her and I told her she was being dishonest which she denied. She could not tell me when she called me and the whole telephone conversation was uncomfortable, lacked professionalism and the blame was placed on me. I informed her that we did not wish for them to visit again and ended the conversation. Very poor customer care and communication.
Previously had no issues with Jarrett doing our boiler services. Engineers always friendly and the price of the service fairly reasonable. However, they serviced our boiler last week and the engineer snapped the hinges off one of the panels. He had just before this asked my partner for the manual as he wasn't used to working with Worcester Bosch boilers. He said they would order a new hinge for us and let us know when it's in. Heard nothing after that except to get the invoice for the service. I asked if the part had been ordered, and they came back quoting me £19 for the part plus VAT, plus an additional "reduced rate" £49.50 labour charge! I replied saying their engineer had broke it so why should we be paying? She replied that it's a "known issue" with Worcester boilers for the hinges to break easily, as the plastic becomes brittle over time. The boiler is only 3 years old. I called WB and they advised that they have had no complaints or issues with the hinges and that they could only break if the engineer was rough with it. I went back to Jarretts and they still expected me to pay. When I said I would be reporting them to Trading Standards for breaking the Consumer Rights Code, they replied this morning saying they would fix it as a "gesture of good will". No thanks! Worcester Bosch are coming out to replace them free of charge for us. Be aware of the dishonesty of this company, and one of their engineers obviously cack-handed!
I had a leak underneath my shower, Jarretts Heating and Plumbing. were called, I believe the plumber fixed the leak ? but He damage all my shower panel and decided not to say a word about it and left in a rush, I went upstairs to see my shower and I saw the shower panel all damage , contacted the company that sent the plumber to fixe my issue , and obviously I asked about the damage on my shower panel ... the replay I get from them was, the plumber has no idea who did the damage, I couldn't believe the reply I get ... Really bad service, not reliable.
Fabulous service. My 84 yr old mother had a problem with her 20+ year old oil heating system and Jarrett's made her a priority and completely resolved the situation for her. Couldn't be any happier with their and I 100% recommend
We recently had a system boiler fitted. The job was carried out on time and as scheduled. The job was estimated and quoted in a timely manner. Chris the engineer who carried out the work was a credit to Jarretts plumbing and heating co. He was polite, considerate, kept us informed of progress and next steps. Very knowledgeable and a tidy worker. I would highly recommend.
Helped us out with a historical record that was missing from the Gas Safe Register. Amy was very personable, helpful and provided us with frequent updates. Can recommend Jarretts service based on our experience.
Great service, very reliable and professional. Many thanks
Doesn't understand what a 20mph zone is apparently. Drives like an idiot
Arrogant customer service assistant. Not polite.
Minimum charge of £85:50 even if little or no work is carried out. We asked for help with leaking kitchen tap and stuck pop up waste in bathroom. Despite knowing why they were called, they were unable to complete either job but managed to present an invoice for £85:50. We complained but to no avail. Do not touch this company .
We had our air source heat pump installed and serviced for 12 years by Jarrett Plumbing. Whilst their service in the first few years was OK its gone downhill in the past year or so. We had two parts replaced on our heat pump which was advised by an engineer from Jarrett. Each time they attended the engineers didn't seem to know how to fix the issue and kept calling the manufacturer for advice. Jarrett even sent an engineer that knew nothing about heat pumps! Within 2 years both parts had gone wrong and we were told they had to be replaced again. This didn't fix the heat pump issue so we were then advised that we needed a whole new system at a cost of over £8000. We decided to get a second opinion from another qualified air source heat pump engineer and he was able to fix the heat pump for around £1000. He replaced the compressor which Jarrett told us was not possible to do. While fixing it he noticed Jarrett hadn't previously installed the replacement parts correctly which had contributed to the compressor failure. Had we taken Jarrett's advice we would have spent over £7000 unnecessarily. Always get a second opinion if you're thinking of using these guys as they aren't the best to be honest.
This company is dishonest. Make sure you avoid them, they installed an air source system and when it stopped working they refused to come and look at it unless it was when they were in the area. They only wanted to do this on a specific day that was not my day off We requested potentially two specific days during the week and had one booked via Chris, we had to wait several weeks. On the morning of the appointment day they had booked it again for the wrong day. Chris denied booking for this day, even though he knew very well this was the only day I was available and had specifically requested it as it was my day off. Initially he refused to book even weeks or in several months time stating they could only do the one day that they were in the area. He had told me previously when I had requested to speak to the director that he was the director; today his receptionist said he was not? yet another lie. The company should not take on new installations that are outside their locality to avoid saying to customers that it is to far for them to travel out when it goes wrong. A very disappointing unprofessional service and dishonest firm.
Our 15 year old combi finally gave up the ghost and packed in. Withing 2 weeks they secured for us and installed a new boiler. As usual a professional job was done with the installation with the help of copious amounts of coffee. As one of our 'hot water less' weeks was a nasty cold snap -4 etc they actually offered us use of some portable heaters. I highly recommend this company.
No fuss on the phone, knew what I wanted. Arrived dead on time and got the job done, no nasty surprises on the bill. Thanks!
Very professional from start to finish. We had some new radiators fitted. It was done properly, with no mess and no fuss. Very happy, will use again.
Knowledgeable. Had a new heating system installed and their whole team did a great job, cleaned up after themselves and were reasonably priced. They have been servicing my boiler for years and have kept it going even though its quite old now!
Brilliant service, great value and one of the best plumbing and heating engineers available in Norwich.
Prompt and reliable at a reasonable price.
