JSB Plastering & Damp Proofing

JSB Undertook undertook the remediation of damp patches on south and west facing cavity walls on a detached 1930’s brick- built property being renovated. This included removal of plaster, treatment of exposed surfaces, lining with plasterboard, final plaster skim and breathable external treatment preventing moisture ingress. JSB were very professional, clearly defined their scope and the preparation needed. They integrated and worked extremely well with the other trades (decorators, plumbing, kitchen installation, etc). JSB also managed the expected dust and mess associated with plasterwork to a very high standard. - resulting in unsolicited positive feedback from the other trades working alongside.

We live in an old cottage and needed substantial work completed for damp in our kitchen. Once the old kitchen was removed Josh and his brother stripped the kitchen back to brick, dried the kitchen out with industrial dehumidifiers and then treated the room to protect it from future damp issues. They then replastered the room. All work was completed to a high standard. They were professional in their work and very easy to have around the house. I would definitely recommend their workmanship.

Josh and his brother Liam are absolutely brilliant and true professionals. Being an electrician, I know a good plasters work when we see it and I wouldn't use anyone else. They're really clean and tidy with their work and think about the job from all aspects. They always clean out the electrical back boxes, they were happy to work with recessed LED strip profile (which can be very fiddly) and the walls and ceilings were perfectly flat and smooth. Being damp-proof specialists as well, they took extra measures to help prevent cold bridging when they dot and dabbed and plastered my 1930's bungalow. And they're a pleasure to work with.

Josh and Liam treated a damp room in our 1907 Arts and crafts house in the New Forest. They were very professional, punctual polite and easy to get on with, they replaced our living room floor and stripped and replaced the plaster without impact to us living in the house. I would definitely recommend them.

I've used JSB for three separate jobs now including an external re rendering, new damp proof course and replastering of 2 rooms as we refresh our Edwardian house. Josh explains all the issues and finishes the work to a very high standard. After agreeing to timescales and quotes via email, day-to-day comms via WhatsApp are prompt. Josh has carried out 2 jobs for us, one for installing a damp proof course for rising damp that required plaster removal and a replaster and the other job plastering several rooms. Both times he made everything run smoothly, clear communication, great attention to detail and amazingly tidy with his work!! They ensured that all surfaces were covered before the work was started and everything was cleaned up before they left and the walls were left ready for us to paint.

I have used JSB Plastering and Damp proofing to deal with damp and mould in two properties. He is very knowledgeable and the work was done efficiently - and no mess left. There was a significant improvement in the areas affected and the mould has not returned.

Josh did a great job sorting out some damp plaster in a bedroom, and fitting a one way vent to stop the problem recurring. This was a year ago and we have had no damp problems since. I'm happy to recommend him
