M Mitchell Painter & Decorator

Having Michael decorate part of our house has been fabulous. Michael is really superbly skilled, totally reliable, extremely tidy, helpful, friendly and fun. The help with discussing colours and finishes was invaluable, and the finished area looks magnificent. This has been a great experience for us, and we'd highly recommend his work. We consider the work excellent value, and the final effect is transformative.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently hired Michael to repaint my entire house, and I couldn’t be happier with the results, From start to finish his communication was excellent he kept me updated at every stage and made sure all my preferences were understood, Michael is incredibly friendly and approachable which made the whole process smooth and stress free, The quality of the painting is outstanding and my home feels completely refreshed, I would highly recommend Michael to anyone looking for a professional reliable decorating service 👍🏻

Michael did a great job especially on my stairs it wasn't a straight forward job thank you very much it's made a big difference

Amazing service, great craftsmanship.

Unfortunately Mr Mitchell couldn't take my job on as he is fully booked this year and next , however he very kindly telephoned me to let me know which so many never bother to. So hence 5 stars for courtesy and If you can get a booked job I'm confident it will be worth the wait.

Excellent job done to a high standard. I’m so happy with the work done it’s made my house look fresh and bright. From giving advice on what would and wouldn’t look good to completing the work Michael has provided a 10/10 service. Price was fair and job was done to a high standard, I would highly recommend Michael.

Micheal has experience that shows in his work. Very neat and tidy , leaves your house as tidy as it was before he walked in , professional in every respect.

I googled best decorator in Sheffield and Micheal Mitchell name came up with the best rated reviews. I contacted Micheal and he came in August 24 to take a look and quote us for the full house redecorating with all doors and woodwork. We was happy with the price quoted and ask Mick to do the job,he couldn't start the work until Jan 25,so we knew he must be worth waiting for if he was so busy. We wasn't dissapointed. Mick did a fantastic job, nothing was too much trouble for him,he advised us on colour and paint, and what would work, he was right. Every evening Mick cleaned the room even hoovering up and left all his equipment tidy in the corner of the room for the next working day Mick did a fantastic job and would recommend him 100%. Thankyou Mick for the laughs and banter A Fantastic Job we are delighted .

I received Michael’s name as a recommendation and I would recommend him to anyone myself. He works very quickly and to a very high standard, every evening he makes sure that everything is left completely clean and tidy. Michael is very friendly and will advise you on how you should decorate your house, or anything he’d do that you’re not doing.

Really easy to communicate with and book in a slot. Managed to squeeze us in so didn't take long at all. Extremely happy with the result. We had a pattern and big mural wall to do and both done perfectly, couldn't be happier!

Professional, Prompt and with an excellent understanding of the client’s needs. Wallpapering was completed to a very high standard, and with minimal disturbance and no mess left behind. Going forward Michael would definitely be our number one choice every time.

Just had Michael to decorate the whole house he has done fantastic job every room looks great first time we have had 2colours in living room and it looks brilliant nothing is too much trouble for him puts all the furniture back where it belongs should have had years ago will definitely have him again first class cheers Mick

Fantastic job from Mike. Initially contacted him in September after reading his reviews, we wanted our house totally redecorated as it hadn't been touched since being built 9 years ago. Mike came and looked at what we wanted and dropped off some paint charts. His quote was excellent and we felt it was worth waiting till January for him to start. The week before his due start date he came for details of what paint we had chosen. Another reason we chose him was he was willing to give us advice on colours whst wouldnt/work and ee wanted a feature wall in one room that he advised wouldn't work and he was dead right. He also explained how he would deal with cracks etc you get from a new home. He was with us for three weeks he arrived on time each day and worked hard through the day, but always left the room he was working on clean and tidy before he left. There was one wall to be wallpapered, the wallpaper sent from the company was all mixed up but he sorted it out for us and it looks brilliant. We now have a beautifully decorated home and Mike has done an excellent job. He even re did part of a room when the carpet fitters made a mess. We can't recommend him highly enough we are so pleased with what he has done and it was a pleasure to have him in our home.

Thankyou very much for decorating our Living room over the last 2 days what amazing job thankyou Michael will be definitely having you again.

Great service, really good job, very friendly, good price, even put up with the animals in his way, no complaints here amazing job done

Michael has done an excellent job of wallpapering and painting 3 of our bedrooms, the hallway & stairs, living room and kitchen. Some of the walls were in a bit of a state with a fair few cracks and a lot of holes, but Michael sorted them all out, filling them in and rubbing them down; the finish was astounding. Michael is very skilled at his trade; a true professional, highly recommended and we will most definitely be asking him to come back again. Thanks Michael, I really can’t get over how well our rooms look now.

If you want a high quality professional painting job done in your home for a fair price, then look no further. We employed Michael to paint all rooms (except kitchen) in our 2 bedroom bungalow which included our newly built Orangery and we are delighted with his work and the finished result. All walls, ceilings, doors and skirting boards look perfect. Michael filled in all holes, cracks, gaps and rubbed down the woodwork before painting. We had a darker colour on one feature wall in each room with a very light colour on the other walls and white ceilings and his painting and cutting in work is faultless He is a very quick, efficient and tidy worker who cleaned up the area he was working on each day before going home and he put furniture, curtains, blinds etc back in the room he was still working on so we could use it overnight. Michael's a friendly person with a great sense of humour. We had many laughs with him during the 9 days he was working for us and I will definitely employ him again when we are ready for our kitchen doing. He is very busy, but well worth the wait.

Contacted Michael after reading the excellent reviews online. He came and painted the ceiling, walls and woodwork in our front bedroom and did a lovely job and even helped us choose a colour for the walls. Michael is very professional, doesn’t waste any time and is punctual, reliable and polite. Will not hesitate to contact him again for further work in the future. Many thanks Michael, Steve & Cath.

Michael has just painted our spare bedroom, and he has done a fantastic job. I am really impressed with the quality of his work, and how quickly he did it.

Michael is absolutely brilliant. Not only is he a superb painter and decorator who will leave your home with a lovely professional finish, but he's also super-organised, so your job will run on well-oiled wheels from start to finish. He's also one of the tidiest people I've ever had working in the house, so that things are left in a liveable state at all times - and so considerate! He was always thinking about how to limit the impacts on us, and we found we could easily work from home around him. Best of all, he is a genuinely lovely human being and a joy to have around - a ray of sunshine whom you can trust implicitly. He helped us sort some other non-decorating problems, for which we were truly grateful. Employ him without hesitation - though he's so popular, you may have to wait a white to secure his services!

Michael did a great job papering/painting my hall, stairs and landing, also painting kitchen and bedroom. He provided good advice regarding paint colour when I was unsure, Michael definitely knows his job, is reliable, trustworthy, very helpful and a clean worker. I had no worries about going out and leaving him to it.

We had Michael to do our Bedroom and Kitchen, Hes a first class painter and goes above and beyond what he needs to do. We love the finish its transformed our rooms . Michael is always polite courteous and friendly. A real pro hard working and quality work , we definitely recommend him ,already got him booked for next year .

Mick has just decorated 2 bedrooms for me. The work is of the highest standard and the rooms look great. Mick is reliable, thorough in all aspects of his work and gives helpful advice. I intend to use him again to further work and can highly recommend him

Extremely happy with the results Diligent and thorough.

We’ve used Michael twice now and he’s done a fantastic job again. Looks like a new kitchen!

Very friendly, punctual and professional service. Michael did a fantastic job painting our ceiling. He also suggested painting another smaller area and then didn't charge for this. Would highly recommend and will be using again.

Michael did a fantastic job decorating our stairs and landing. Ceiling, coving, walls, woodwork were expertly finished and look fab. Also, the finishing touches staining and painting our bannister and handrails were welcome additions to the high quality work done. Michael also sorted all the faff and fiddle of holes left where picture fixings had been and got rid of some well cemented in radiator brackets to ensure that the finished look was exceptional. I simply cannot recommend Michael highly enough. Get booked in early - it’s worth the wait and the wait is testament to the work that will be completed. Finally, Michael’s professionalism and personable nature meant we had no issue letting him get on with the job whilst we were away!

Good quality work and very professional very quick gets on with his job cleans up when he has done every day A1 job would definitely recommend Michael very happy with his work would definitely use him again .

Friendly and professional service. Work completed quickly and with no mess. Very happy to recommend and use again

Such a lovely and professional service! Would definitely be the first person to go back to if anymore work needs to be done☺️ definitely recommend!

Michael was top of the list when I did an internet search for "Sheffield Decorators" and I can see why! He did an extremely professional job for us decorating 8 rooms along with our hall, stairs and landings. He was quick and efficient, laying out his plan of attack, keeping us informed on everything he was doing, checking details, and making sure we were happy every step of the way. He was always on time, arriving before 8am every working day over the three weeks of the job. There was always a cuppa waiting for him and I made sure to keep them coming. He was always cheery and polite and he had a great sense of humour which I really appreciated. Besides doing an excellent job with the painting, he was exceptionally tidy and he made sure everything was packed up and out of the way of an evening. When Michael quoted for the job he made sure we knew there would be a wait if we hired him. His services are in high demand and his faultless results are worth waiting for. He turned our house into our home and finished two days ahead of schedule. I can't thank him enough for his hard work, professionalism and the high quality finish.

Unable to use as so good is booked up to May next year

We are absolutely delighted with the end result. Michael is fantastic at communication. He was very prompt with his replies and the whole process was very smooth and easy on our end - which we appreciated enormously. I had picked a very bright colour for the hallway. Once I had shown Michael what I wanted, he sourced the exact shade himself. This saved us tons on time as previously I had to travel to about 5 different shops for other specific shades. The result is beyond my expectations and it looks beautiful. There is such a difference when a professional does it. My partner has already said we are not painting anything ourselves again. There’s just no comparison! It was lovely to open the door to our new hallway and see this amazing result. Michael is tremendously professional, he worked really fast, but also very meticulously. Highly recommend!

100% amazing! Quick response to my original call. Came on time to provide a quote and was able to squeeze my job in which i was very grateful for. Lovely friendly guy and the quality and speed of his work is fantastic!! I couldnt be more pleased with the wallpaper mural he has done for us. I would 100% recommend him and ive already booked him again for other decorating jobs i have. Many thanks 👍

The google reviews persuaded me to contact Michael and I was not disappointed! I can see why he receives amazing reviews! I found Michael to be really professional, reliable and a lovely guy too. He turned up when he said he would and he returns texts/calls straight away. I had wallpaper fitted in a bedroom and 2 toilets plus the rooms painted and all look amazing. The accuracy and neatness is first class. Michael was very considerate of our home and left the areas clean and tidy. I also asked him to paint another wall which was last minute but he was very accommodating and got the job done at a high standard. I would definitely recommend Michael to everyone and I will be using his services again. Thanks Michael!

Michael fitted us in on a Sunday after quoting earlier in the week. Great value and we had to get a professional to fit patterned wallpaper. Michaels expertise got the job done in a morning and the design matches over full chimney breast wall. Will defo go back in the future, thanks Michael.

Was looking for someone to wallpaper a couple of feature walls. Having researched Google, I found Michael and soon established he had some excellent reviews. I contacted Michael asking if he could provide a quote. He responded immediately giving a date and time he could pop over. Michael arrived on time and provided a quote (very reasonable). We arranged a day to do the work. Michael contacted me later in the week asking if he could come a day earlier, this was no issue so new date and time agreed. Michael arrived on time and carried out the work. He was professional and polite throughout. Michael cleaned up after himself and the end result was oustanding. Michael even knocked some money off his original quote! Bonus! If you are reading this review wondering who to get to do your decorating, trust this review and use Michael. Top bloke & excellent painter & decorator 👍. I will certainly be using him again.

Michael papered our very high dining room wall with precision and expertise. It is a tricky space to decorate, yet Michael approached it with such professionalism. The finished effect is stunning. Michael arrived on time and worked patiently and effectively. He kept in touch with me throughout and checked in with me before the job. I would absolutely recommend Michael and will be asking him back to do so my future decorating work. Thank you Michael!

Michael turned up on time & got the job done quickly but to a high standard. Would definitely recommend as we’d use him again.

Mick painted our living room and bedroom for us - excellent work and top bloke. Highly recommend. He finished earlier than expected but knocked some money off without asking which was nice! Only bad thing I've got to say is that poor guy is a Sheffield Wednesday fan :-)

Very good, he got a mural wallpaper up in our conservatory quickly and well done. And his price was very reasonable. Would happily recommend him.

Michael did a splendid job redecorating my home. He was gave me a schedule so that I could make sure that the rooms were cleared in time for him to proceed as planned. He has been completely professional, trustworthy and really good at his job. He came recommended by a friend and I have already recommended him to another friend.

I booked Michael based on seeing his work at my mums house, Michael came and decorated our stairs and living room, to which he has transformed them! He is amazing at what he does. It's totally exceeded what we thought, he even filled all the cracks in (new build... there was alot of them!) Sanded it down, painted all the walls and ceilings and glossed all 6 of my doors too and painted the inside of my front door. Hes friendly and chatty, which puts you at ease and keeps checking you are happy with what hes doing. I've already booked him in to do x2 of my bedrooms upstairs later this year too! Hes professional and leaves no mess! He buys the paint as part of your quote and covers all items and floors whilst working. He replied to my email the same day and came not long after to give me a quote. Would 100% recommend.

Michael was very professional, efficient and did the job straight away to and exceptional standard and we will definitely be using him again. Thank you Michael!

Did a great job with stairs and landing and loft ceiling. Happy with price and no hassle whatsoever, on time to provide quote, do work etc and friendly person. Highly recommended.

Michael decorated our stairway and hall, as well as the lounge. He did a fantastic job; very neat work - could not fault it. He was very professisonal but friendly with it. We were pleased that he arrived when he said he would and carried on until the job was finished. He was able to finish sooner than expected. Excellent all round.

Mick was brilliant. Really friendly and professional and did a great job. Mick was very considerate in our house and left no mess at all. Good value for money. We have booked him in to do two more rooms in our house.

We asked Michael to do some decorating in our house which included painting three floors of wall and ceiling space as well as the woodwork on several doors and skirting boards. He responded to our inquiry the same day and promptly gave us a reasonably priced quote. He arrived on time every day and carried out the work without issue. The results which were absolutely amazing and it only took 4 days! He also helped out with some other decorating issues we hadn't asked him to do and provided us with a number for an electrician. It was a pleasure to have him around and all we can say is that if you have any decorating needs - this is your guy!

Great job wallpapering our kitchen/diner. Very pleased with the finished look, thanks.

Michael is very punctual, friendly, tidy and has done a great job wallpapering the living room feature wall, which has made the room look more homely. Thank you. I highly recommend.

Michael has just repainted the soffits, fascia boards and a gable end at my house and detached garage. He has done a superb, professional job and I recommend him to anyone requiring decorating work at their home.

We’ve used Michael a number of times and he always does a fantastic job, as well as being a pleasure to have around. He is organised, tidy, keeps the project on track and nothing is too much trouble. He even helped us put up some lights and curtain poles once because we were making a right mess of it!!! This time I asked him to paint the living room black and despite clearly thinking I was bonkers, he cracked on and we have a living room we absolutely love. I can only imagine Michael will recommend all of his customers to be as brave with their colour choices! Thanks Michael, and we look forward to seeing you once all this corona madness is over.

Extremely pleased with the work carried out. On time, good price, and some great advice given for future work, will definitely use again.

Michael has just finished another two rooms in our house and we couldn't be happier. Michael is reliable and starts early and gets on with stuff promptly. He is professional and honest and works to a very high standard with top quality materials. We won't have anyone else now. I can't recommend him enough. So pleased with his work , work ethics and service. You don't get much of this these days. I usually moan about everything that's done, as there's usually some problem with most trades men work. Not on this occasion. Will certainly use again

I can't recommend Michael highly enough. He takes time to discuss requirements, costs and time as well as offering advice and answering questions in an extremely professional manner. Michael is polite, affable and above all (aside from being extremely good at his job) he absolutely takes the highest care to make sure that nothing is accidentally damaged while he is working and cleans up afterwards to the point that I am pretty certain my kitchen is now cleaner than it was before he started decorating it. I have asked him to come back and take care of the decoration of the entire house.

Just had my hall and staircase done by Michael. He has done a lovely job as always. Would definitely recommend.

Outstanding, Stairs, Landing and Hallway walls painted and woodwork/doors glossed, all walls had a minimum of 2 coats, and all woodwork had 2 coats of primer and a coat of gloss. the walls and woodwork started off as a council bodge job, however Michael made them look like a new build with a fantastic finish, Michael was always prompt and polite, and we will be arranging a booking for other rooms to be madeover, Cheers

Great job and very friendly service! would highly recommend!

We've used Michael a number of times now for painting and wallpapering jobs and every time he's been excellent. Prompt, trust worthy, really efficient with wallpapering and the standard of work has been of the highest quality every time. We found his contact details on Sheffield Forum and he had great reviews then and we weren't disappointed at all. Thank you again Michael!

I have just had Micheal to do some decorating for me over a few days last week. On a personal front he is very chatty and pleasant and professional. I am happy with the finished look of what he has done and I have confidence that if there was an issues he would be trustworthy enough to come and rectify it... I would highly recommend him and will be having him again in the future...

Had my ceiling painted and a feature wall hung. Absolutely brilliant work!! very neat and tidy, wallpaper matched perfectly and it was a complicated pattern to hang. will defiantly use again. One of the few tradesmen left who takes pride in his work and his customer services.. Thank you for my feature wall I love it :)

When we needed some wallpapering done, my wife’s work colleague recommended Michael. So in June he came and did the Hall, Stairs and Landing and made a really professional job of it. His rate was so reasonable that we didn’t even bother with alternative quotes. Currently (Nov 2015), we have asked him back to do the Living room and Dining room wallpapering. Over two Saturday mornings he papered each in turn. Once again his rates were fine and the job has been done wonderfully. He also provided good advice about fitting glass into four internal sliding doors that I was undertaking myself ! He is a very friendly chap and has kept in communication to fit in with the best dates possible. We will have no hesitation inviting him back if we need more work done in the future.

Michael has just decorated my through lounge, he has done a fantastic job, and I am highly satisfied will definitely be using him again.

Michael has just finished painting my hall, stairs, landing and bathroom. The work is of a very high quality, was finished on time and he provided all the paint and materials. I had a large crack on the landing- no longer visible! And also lots of ugly peeling paint in the bathroom- now it looks like new again. I was very impressed with how clean and tidy he left my flat after finishing every day, what a joy to come back to a flat that looks better than when I left it! My kitchen needs doing next, and I will definitely be using Michael again.
