Matt gave a very detailed quote for the work and gave us plenty of notice so we could prepare the Kitchen. The work quality is excellent, the detailed preparation work was very impressive. Matt was very easy to have in the house and the job was completed on time.
We’ve used Matt a few times over the years so can highly recommend. The first time Matt wall-papered the hallway wall which was high and impossible for my husband to reach. The second time was redecorating the hall, stairs and landing at our new house plus ceilings. And most recently Matt painted our new media unit which was built in mdf. Beautifully finished, we’re so pleased with the results. Thank you Matt!
Matt is an excellent fellow, he really did an splendid job on a full redecoration of our kitchen in our new build house, it is lovely! He also painted the stair string, recessed skirtings and various stand alone furniture units...all a great job. Steven and Lucie

Matt did a fantastic job of refurbishing our tired kitchen cabinets - even though the doors are MDF. He was meticulous, considerate and tidy in his work and a pleasure to have around the house. We are so pleased that our 15 year old kitchen looks like new again!

Matt was first class from his initial quote to completion. His work is to a very high standard, he protected work surfaces and flooring before he started and cleaned up after himself daily. Matt's quote was competitive, the works were completed in the timescale provided. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
Matt hand painted our new wooden kitchen, having been recommended by our kitchen fitters. He was very helpful from the start of the project, offering advice on different paint finishes and products. Matt did a fantastic job of painting our office. We chose two colours, one on the feature cladded wall which works really well together - Matt was always helpful, tidy and great to communicate with throughout. Would 100% recommend and will be having him back to complete the rest of the house.
We are always really pleased with MJLs services, but you might need to book some time in advance as he is in serious demand due to recommendations for the quality of his work. Matt is open and honest in his pricing with no hidden surprises and we have always been delighted with the end product, having had the entire house done from top to bottom, including a full kitchen re-paint and even some outside woodwork to match new windows. He is accurate in his timescales, extremely tidy and uses an extraction machine to really reduce dust and mess. Communication is good. Its been great to find a really genuine reliable tradesperson who takes huge pride in his work. We were able to just leave Matt at our home to get on with things whilst we were out. I can recommend MJL (Matt) without reservation for anyone looking for a great decorating service. He loves tea !!
Matt responded the same day and fitted us in at short notice. Matt hung wallpaper in our lounge, we are really pleased and highly recommend. We will definitely use Matt again.
We have used Matt on a number of occasions, and he has decorated individual rooms, though to the whole of our new home both inside and out. Matt most recently painted our newly fitted kitchen and his attention to detail is second to none. We highly recomend.

Matt transformed our kitchen. It was an oak and oak effect kitchen units. The colour is now Slaked lime deep with livid from Little Greene on the island. Not only did Matt paint the units he ensured that the rough edges which had naturally occured in 17 years were corrected. Attention to detail is Matts trade mark. Such is the quality of his work I have asked him to return for other painting projects. Matts decorating is quality and at a reasonable price. Thank you Matt.
Matt was very professional and advised us the correct paste to use with our specific wall paper. He even discussed our options with how we needed to trim the wall paper to make it fit. He cleaned up after himself too!
Matt did a fantastic job on our kitchen. It had a few issues with water damage and a past repair. No trace of any of them now. Very clean and tidy will definitely use again.
MJL give excellent service. We had Matt paint our downstairs hallway, stairs, and upstairs landing about a year ago and had him back last week (Feb 2022) to paint our main bedroom. He did a very thorough preparation job - that alone took a day - filling in cracks sealing around windows, and smoothing / sanding the walls. He also papered one wall and you cannot even see where the individual sheets meet. His estimate was accurate. He is a very quiet worker with no radio blaring the whole time. I heartily recommend Matt!

After a little DIY mishap, Matt did an amazing job decorating the nursery for our baby girl in time for her to use it. He has completely transformed the room! The walls were in a terrible condition before he started but now it all looks so beautiful.
