The Colchester Painters Ltd

Ray did a fantastic job in fully redecorating our four bedroom house. His work is exceptional and he couldn’t have been more helpful in touching up areas for us and working through weekends to get the job done on time. Ray was timely, professional and a great source of advice in the planning stages. He got to work straight away and was a pleasure to have around. We can’t recommend him enough and he’d be our first choice for any decoration work in the future! Thanks again Ray for an amazing job!

We are renovating our property and it was ready for the painting so we contacted Ray to do the painting. He has done a brilliant job. We are very happy with his work. Clean tidy attention to detail polite. Highly recommend and would use Ray again. Thank you.

Great service. Prompt, friendly, professional. My hallway looks lovely. Definitely recommend Ray.

Ray has decorated our hall and landing and recently decorated the exterior of our house and we are so pleased with his work. He is reliable, accommodating and pays great attention to detail and we will certainly use him again. Thank you Ray.

Ray is a real find. He has done our house inside and out over the last few years. Very thorough and takes great care over the quality of his work. We are very comfortable leaving him to it with a key either when we are at work or away. Good cricket chat too!

First class job from start to finish. Fully prepped, beautifully painted, and left spotlessly tidy. Couldn’t recommend high enough.

I needed a reliable contractor to renovate a flat in Colchester, but I live overseas so it was always going to be a little more difficult than usual. After I spoke with Ray at The Colchester Painters I was certain I had found the right man for the job. I needed new floor coverings and other jobs done to bring the property up to par and Ray went far beyond what he needed to do and arranged all of the work. Whether you're a local or living far away, trust Ray with your project and he will not disappoint, and all for a fair price.

We had 4 rooms and the full hall/landing space of our house decorated by Ray. He was meticulous in his preparation, very thorough with the painting and then tidied everything away afterwards. We were very happy with the results and would definitely use his services again. Would thoroughly recommend Ray for anyone needing painting done by someone who will do a smart, reliable job!

Ray recently decorated our hall, stairs and landing to a very good standard. He completed the job while we were away and left the area spotless. We would highly recommend The Colchester Painters Ltd.

Clear communication, no delays. Adam came at the right time and did a stellar job. Highly recommend their services.

Ray did a superb job on our dining room, kitchen, utility room and cloakroom while we were away. The work was done to a very high standard. All the rooms look so much fresher but the biggest transformation was, ironically, in the smallest room: the cloakroom. It is not only brighter and somehow looks bigger than it did before.

Hall, stairs, landing, kitchen, lounge and study painted by Ray. Whilst here decided to paint cloakroom, too. Good standard of workmanship; pleased with the overall results. Will certainly contact Ray to quote for the bedrooms later this year. Ray - I definitely recommend the ladder I have 😉

Ray is surprisingly quick for such a great job. He takes his quotation as gospel but remained flexible on the delivery. Really glad we were able to find such a great decorator. Went based on his reviews and was very pleasantly surprised when he exceeded expectations. This was a big project with Ray spending over 4 weeks in the house. He made the experience as painless as possible and we discussed logistics regularly to minimise impact. Have already asked Ray to come back and do some exterior work later this year. Would highly recommend.

Very poor standard of work, Stevie Wonder would have done a better job! Nothing else to say!

Ray did a great job on our hall & landing.Very professional in his approach and the standard of his work is excellent. He is also very personable and a pleasure to have working in your home. Would recommend him without hesitation and will certainly be using him again. Thanks,Ray!

Ray is a thorough professional. He is quick and efficient and everything is to a high standard. Critically, he provides the best guidance while being responsive to the customer's wishes. I would recommend him without hesitation.

Ray provided a good professional painting service. I'd highly recommend him for any painitng and decorating job. Great value for money and neat and tidy in his work.

Couldn’t recommend Ray highly enough. Friendly professional and high quality work. We’re delighted with the end result!!

Ray and his team were amazing, they transformed my two very old and dated Victorian rooms into stylish, modern rooms with a high spec & professional finish. Would definitely recommend and use again

Only spoke with Ray for a quote but he really went above and beyond; i was impressed. What a nice man.

Being an overseas landlord, searched on the site and decided to try Ray. Choice well made as he did an excellent job of painting and repairing walls in my house. All contact done through emails and photos. Found him to be very professional, reliable and honest. Will certainly use him again in the future so thankyou Ray and thanks to the website.

Ray recently decorated our living room, stairs and landing. The workmanship was of a very high level and we are very pleased with the results. Ray was punctual, tidy, friendly and professional. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend Ray to anyone who is looking for a professional and reliable painter & decorator. He did a fantastic job on our Bridal Shop on London Road. Thank you again Ray! :)

Ray recently painted the outside of our mid terrace house and carried it out very thoughtfully and meticulously. It looks great, very fresh and bright and he did a quality job in repairing and filling all our render cracks and holes. He cares to do a good and thorough job and not cut corners. He is also very trustworthy - we were both out working and left him with our key with free roam of our house and all valuables. Thanks Ray for a great service, will recommend. Cheers, Kieren and Julianne (Tiptree)

Ray did an amazing job repainting the whole flat. He also did some minor repairs and redigeres shelves and paintings on the wall. The job was done professionally and to a high standard. It was easy to communicate with Ray and he is responsible, taking pride in his work. His prices are reasonable and we would highly recommend him.

Excellent from start to finish. The exterior painting work was finished to a very high standard. Punctual, hardworking, professional and friendly- I would highly recommend Ray and his services.

Ray decorated the outside of our house in June 2020. He did a really good job. He was professional and communicated well from start to finish of the work.

Ray came to quote me for painting and wallpapering a bedroom. He was professional and knowledgable and offered a very good price. The completed job was even better than I hoped, with excellent attention to detail and a great finish. I would definitely recommend Ray and hope to use his services again soon.

Did an incredible job wallpapering our bedroom wall. Very tidy and professional too

Ray was very responsive, answered any questions I had about the job. Very professional, reliable and polite. Highly recommend.

Fantastic service. Great communication, efficient, clean and tidy and a great job. Definitely recommend Ray.

Ray was very punctual and very professional, he has done a wonderful job of our Bedrooms and Hallway I couldn’t be happier, I’m looking forward to having Ray back after Christmas to do our living room. He’s exceptionally trustworthy, reliable, friendly and down to Earth. I would rate more than 5 stars but I can’t unfortunately.

Good workmanship and very hardworking

Asked Ray to paper a feature wall for us, it's come out beautifully. He was very friendly during the job and we'll have him back in the new year to paint our hallway.

Ray was amazing fitted into my diary and completed the work to a great standard, I would defiantly recommend him

Ray did an excellent job on our house, some of which needed significant prep work before painting. He is meticulous, hard-working, and just very good at what he does. He's also friendly, communicative and importantly gives you options and makes sure you are happy before proceeding with any part of the job. An easy 5 stars.

I would highly recommend ray hall for any painting or decorating need, a fast and free quotation which was very competitive to a 5* job finish, everything surpassed our expectations. Jake - Bagel dough UK

Ray did a very good, clean and efficient job on my new kitchen - it looks great. His charges are fair and he is punctual and reliable. I'll use him again.

Excellent standard of work. Ray is polite, punctual and professional. Kitchen left extremely tidy on completion. Very happy and would recommend unreservedly.

Ray did a fantastic job - he was happy to accommodate our request to work on a Saturday and a Sunday, he was punctual, tidy and did a fantastic job overall. The best thing was he was completely honest, telling me he hadn't had to use all of the paint used and therefore reduced our invoice accordingly. I will definitely stick with Ray for any future decorating work.

Ray decorated our hall, landing and stairs. Managed to get the work done very quickly and to a very high standard. Very nice bloke and fantastic work quality. Wouldnt hesitate having him back if needed. Thanks again.

Couldn't recommend ray enough my house looks amazing I love it. He is so trustworthy, tidy and takes pride in what he does. He has decorated the whole of my house to such a high standard and in such a reasonable time frame. Safe to say we will never pick up a paint brush again while ray is doing what he is doing. Thank so much Miranda and Adam 🙂

Ray is professional. He works like a soldier, he starts early and works hard. He is also very polite and a fair trader. I am pleased with the job he has done in my living room and already requested for him to come back in few weeks time to do another job. I hope he will find the time. I highly recommend his service Karina

I have used Ray a few times in recent years at the Sports Club. Work is always of a high quality, carried out quickly and efficiently and at a decent price. What's not to like!!

Very professional and affordable painter. The quality of the work is excellent. Maximum attention to all the details. I was very impressed with the time scheduled. The work is done quietly and clean without disturbing the peace of the house. I've contacted many painters for different jobs in the house but some didn't provide a quote, others were not so precise in the work and others were more expensive. I would recommend Ray to anyone.

Ray did a great job painting my home. Very polite, helpful and professional. would definitely recommend and would definitely book for future work.

Really lovely and his attention to detail is great!

Ray Halls pleasant to talk to,very obliging and trustworthy to have on your property. I found Ray puts in the effort required of him and knows his trade, I’ve used him for two/three years and cannot fault him or his work, he also will travel if needed, I use him and recommend him with hindsight and confidence.

I called Ray Halls at short notice to see if he could come and help out on a project we had started and which invariably turned out to become much bigger than originally planned. Thankfully he was available and he quickly got stuck into the job. We have used Ray many times over the years for both small and large projects. Once again, he was brilliant. High quality work, long hours and incredibly flexible and responsive to our ever-changing needs. The task included repainting newly plastered walls, refurbishing and repainting some very old woodwork and doing some high-quality wall papering. All in, we were thrilled to see Ray back at The Old Rectory and don’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Harold Thompson, Campsea Ashe, Suffolk

Ray did an excellent job painting the outside of our house. He always turned up on time and took account of the weather when planning his day. He always tidied up each day and never left any drips anywhere. Very courteous at all times and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Ray undertook some decorating work (both painting and wallpapering) at my house for a week in 2017. Ray was very professional and his work was of the highest quality. I would thoroughly recommend him to anyone looking for a painter & decorator.
