I do highly recommend Simon, he is very professional, very punctual. He came out on Sunday to quote me for having my lounge painted, as this is the day he does his quotes. Told me he would be here at 8.30am and he was on time both days. Unlike some tradesman, he did not stop from the minute he got here When he left here on the first night, he made sure that I was able to sit comfortably in my lounge. The work he has carried out is to a first class standard, I would highly recommend him. I will definitely be using him again

I can't recommend Simon highly enough! He just finished decorating my two bedrooms and bathroom, and I'm absolutely blown away by the results. From the very beginning, Simon was incredibly professional. He arrived promptly for the initial quote and listened carefully to my vision for the space. His suggestions were spot on, and he even helped me choose the perfect paint colors. The actual decorating work was fantastic. Simon was meticulous and paid close attention to detail, ensuring a flawless finish throughout the rooms. He also kept the workspace clean and tidy throughout the project, which was a huge plus. Now that the work is complete, my bedrooms and bathroom feel completely transformed. It's a joy to spend time in these newly decorated spaces. Simon recently wallpapered our lounge, hallway and spare room. He was extremely punctual, polite, professional and friendly. His work is of a very high standard and he is very tidy as he goes. The reply I received back was not professional at all, seemed as if they could not be bothered to write a thoughtful reply. Not what I was expecting. Will not be recommending. I would like to massively highly recommended Simon of Definitive Decorating to anyone considering having any professional decorating done. I found Simon to be highly accommodating wright from the start agreeing to come out and quote on a Sunday afternoon, with his then highly prompt and very competitive pricing for the whole house repaint of my 4 bedroom townhouse . He started and commenced the big project within the fortnight and finished on time as scheduled. On inspection Simon had done a fantastic, excellent and superb exceptional job of bringing a trashed rental home back to fantastic sparkling life as if it was completely brand new all over again.The walls, doors, windows, woodwork we're all exceptionally painted beyond my expectations. Even more exceptional was Simon had completely cleaned and hoovered up everywhere which I was not expecting at all. Fast visit to price the work which was hall and landing including undercoat & gloss to twelve doors & ten rolls of wallpaper. Quote received two hours later. Good price, arranged a date and he arrived 8am that day and every day until he had finished 10 days later. Quality very good and Simon is a very pleasant man. Highly recommended.
Simon decorated my daughter's bedroom and we were very impressed at Simon's professionalism from when he answered my email request, coming round to quote us on the job, through to him completing the work. We recently hired Simon to paint our lounge. He didn't provide the cheapest quote for the work but we wanted a quality finish and we are not disappointed. I contacted Simon after my father died and we needed to re-paint the house for renting. From the moment that he understood the situation he was extremely sympathic to the circumstances, and I trusted him from the moment we met. He fully painted the house to an exceptional standard. We were not living in Colchester which meant he was working independently and we were not around to check up, but I had absolute faith based on his excellent communication and responsiveness. I did not have to chase for anything and he was very flexible to accommodate various requirements. Simon takes pride in his work which is clearly apparent in the results. He also offered constructive advice. I realised how exceptional it is to employ someone for work and have total trust in them from the beginning. This made things so straightforward and stress free. I can't recommend him highly enough. The price was very competitive so don't be put off and assume that this standard of work is unaffordable because it is not.
I’m quite picky about who I get in to do work in our home so often rely on impartial Google reviews to ‘hopefully’ help steer us in the right direction. Pleased with what I’d read, being local too, I asked Definitive Decorating for a quotation. Simon came on the weekend and followed up with a competitive quote by email. Unfortunately, by the time we got back to Simon he was booked up on some bigger jobs so we had to wait 2 months before he could book our job in. I didn’t mind that tbh, it show’s he’s busy (which is good) and we were in no rush. Sadly for Simon, he started on the hottest week of the year (in history), but none the less did a fantastic job of painting our hall, stairs, landing and downstairs WC. Simon completed the job on time, to highest quality and was professional throughout. Thank you Google Reviewers (again) and Simon for doing a great job. Simon responded to my request for a quote the same day and arranged to call. He called when he said he would, assessed the work required and made several helpful suggestions and left a business card and Dulux colour chart. I received a reasonable quote by email and decided to proceed. We agreed dates which he stuck to. I am very fussy about my home and dread getting people in to do any work but after meeting Simon I felt confident. The work (kitchen, hallway, bathroom, bedrooms and lounge (and a small bit of exterior work)) was carried out to a high standard within the predicted time. He would talk me though his plans and discuss any issues. He also did some work for my elderly mother who he treated with utmost respect. So high standard professional decorating carried out by a pleasant, reliable trustworthy guy. Use with confidence.

We contacted Simon last year following a personal recommendation and he did a beautiful job painting all of the woodwork on the outside of our house. Simon carried out the painting of all the exterior wood work of our house (fascia, soffit, porch and cladding). Some of the wood was not in the best state and Simon made a great job in the preparation and painting. He was very neat and tidy and the finish looks great. Simon was always punctual and completed the work quickly with minimal disturbance. We asked Simon back to undertake some exterior garden work. Repairing some broken decking boards, painting the decking, trellis, and all fence panels in the garden (about 14). From start to finish my Wife and I were extremely satisfied with the exterior work Simon undertook on our house. We heard about him via recommendation from a neighbor who was very praising of his work. So we approached him to quote to fix and paint our exterior rendering, paint the fascias, and paint our exterior doors (including garage and link gate). He also offered to smooth over some rather botched filling I had done inside the house. Simon gave a professional appraisal of the work, and broke down the costs so that we could decide which pieces we could afford to carry out. In the end the costs were very reasonable so we chose to have all the work done. Simon was on-time every day, and he worked quickly and professionally, cleaning up as he went. He was friendly and courteous at all times. The work was completed in the time and budget Simon originally quoted, even though he spent additional time applying additional coats of paint to areas that needed it. I would not hesitate to recommend Simon, and we are already booking him back to carry out some more work to our fences and decking in the garden!
