Excellent service. They had removed the lock within a minute and then got the bit of broken key out within another minute (however I did see how they did it so if it happens again then I'll know what to do) Communication was excellent too. As I was paying for a whole hour anyway the technician was also able to help me remove an old locked bike lock where I'd lost the key years ago. Also though after trying to pick the lock and failing we agreed it was ok for him to get his angle grinder and cut the thing off. My only complaint is that £94 plus VAT is still a bit steep for what was 2 minutes on the front door and another 10 for the bike lock. Perhaps they can do half hour intervals for charging.

Technician arrived in good time. Technician was able to gain entry and identified the problem. The problem needed a follow up appointment. The follow up appointment was arranged quickly, job done professionally.

This was the first time I used KeyTek locksmith and I have mix feeling with them. Based on the work and service that was received, I would have given 1 star for the following reasons: - although they say that there is no call out charge for their engineer to visit your site, this is not factually correct. The moment the engineer arrives at your doorstep you are liable to pay £97 plus VAT straight away. - they tell you on the phone that their engineer will turn up with the parts and they will be able to fix it most of the time. My door was standard double UPVC and was jammed due to possible locking mechanism fault. This has happened previously and I had used sharp knife object to open it from inside. This was the second time, so decided to use proper locksmith. When the KeyTek engineer arrived, he was let in from our rear door and he did exactly the same method as I had done previously to open the door. Upon investigation, the engineer found the gear box (not sure what it is) faulty but didn’t had the parts to replace it. This was around 1830 Hrs and the engineer arrived around 1815. He told me that the parts had to be ordered and revisit to fix it but I had to pay him his Today’s charge now and the parts cost to proceed with the repair. At this point, I told him (on the phone) he needs to repair that faulty part and then I will pay him for the full price once repaired with the caveat that I am happy to pay for the deposit for new parts. The engineer disagreed and I made the call to KeyTek hotline number where the operator repeatedly explained to me that this is their business model that the customer has to pay first even the job is half-complete. I have never come up with the business who request payment from the customer before the service is delivered. I tried to explain this to the operator but he stuck his loyalty to KeyTek. I had a conversation with my mother who was at home when the engineer arrived after to confirm what the engineer did. My sister also asked the engineer what the fault was but the engineer couldn’t give her the definitive answer on what needs to be done. Following morning, I made the payment of £116.40 for the job which I could have done myself if I was at home. So, very costly £116.40 for opening a door using sharpe sturdy metal object but not actually knowing what the real problem is. I find very surprising that them not having basic parts for standard double glazing UPVC doors bear in mind the door has been in the industry for the last 20 plus years. Secondly, they (KeyTek) make you to pay for the service before they deliver the full service. I can understand that there is a chance that the customer may cancel the job after parts have been ordered but the business had to take that level of risk I believe. Therefore, I have decided to use different service provider to get to the bottom of the issue for my door. The reason why I did not give them 1 star review is because both the engineer and the hotline operator were never rude to me while on the phone. My takeaway from using KeyTek is that they are efficient if they can fix the fault without replacing any parts. If there is a requirement for parts to be replaced, then they are not going to be efficient in terms of both time and cost. Regards, Mani

I was afraid he was just going to spray some lube and charge me £100, but happy he did a full service of the lock, re-align my door, educate me on the lock and how it works, told me what’s a good brand and a lesser brand, and what to look out for to maintain the lock in the future. All in just 20mins or so. Happy with the result! Highly recommend!

Needed a part replaced on UPVC french doors, they ordered the part and came back a week later to fit it. Adjusted the doors so everything was working smoothly and checked I was happy with it all before completion.

Really good service after losing the keys for my garage defender. Call centre staff were professional and friendly and kept me updated every step of the way. The locksmith was friendly and chatty and got the job done in no time. The price quoted was the price I paid. Hopefully I won't need their services again but if I do this will be my first choice.
