Southampton Homes

Very happy with the job done by the boys. Very friendly, tidy and professional. Astro turf and a new gate. Very pleased. Would recommend.

Very happy with the work team from Sunderlands. It was a difficult job but was exactly what we wanted. We were consulted all the way . I would definitely recommend this company, so professional at all times .

Fantastic company. I contracted Sutherlands to do a garden patio, with a challenging access. David and Thomas at the top of the organisation were very responsive and happy to chat through the challenges and how they could bring the job to fruition. Their transparency and honesty was greatly appreciated after I had difficulties with another company. Lee and Fabio did the day-to-day job. They were hard working, very communicative and open to suggestions. The final product was high quality. One minor issue but they were very quick and happy to rectify so can't fault them. Only down mark was due to their cost being on the high side, but I would still highly recommend them!

We hadn't heard of Sutherlands before, but they had good reviews online so we got them round to quote for some landscaping. They turned up on time, listened to what we wanted and explained what they could do given what they had to work with. Their quote was reasonable and so we booked them to do the job. A couple of days in and we noticed a couple of things that we wanted changing. We pointed this out and the next day they rectified matters without quibble. Thomas was in charge of the job and everything went smoothly. Communication was always good, requests were replied to in good time, Sutherlands were good to their word and always turned up on time. Upon completion there were a couple of small snags which were put right promptly without question. The two new patios and raised flower beds look excellent and we are very pleased with the standard of work done. I would highly recommend Sutherlands, they were easy to deal with and have done a great job.

Sutherland Landscapes supplied and built a composite deck in our garden. David was very polite and professional and provided a quote quickly. Tom, who did the work, was friendly and punctual. He worked very hard everyday, even through some torrential downpours! We are really happy with the end result and would definitely recommend this company. Updated June 2024. Unfortunately there has been a manufacturer issue with the composite boards used. Sutherland’s after care service has been exceptional - they have responded promptly, raised the issue with the manufacturer and have undertaken to fix the issue ASAP. We have been very impressed with their commitment to customer service.

Pond installation in garden and removal of invasive grass. Very quick and efficient and left everything neat and tidy. Would definitely recommend..

The team recently replaced a tatty, uneven area of grass at the end of my garden into the most amazing patio. It has totally transformed the look of that part of the garden. I would recommend Sutherlands 120%. Superb job, fair price, extremely courteous & professional. Can’t praise them enough & would definitely use them again. Thanks guys, I’m really going to enjoy spending time in my garden now!

A good experience from initial quote meeting through to completion of the project. The work was artificial grass (90sqm) being installed. For future potential customers using Sutherlands this artificial grass was the ‘Estate’ variation they offer.

Sutherlands did a major revamp on both my front and back garden replacing existing borders with cobbles and some plants. They also did some repointing of patio slabs and removal of old wooden decking. Andy did a nice design for us initially and Tom made a very nice job of the landscaping and was happy to vary things a little on the design as it progressed and we could see what the finished article would look like. The completed job was exactly what we wanted. Unfortunately, we subsequently found that not all the original bulbs in the borders had been removed and reappeared through the barrier sheeting particularly in one of the front borders. We agreed to wait to see the extent of the issue this spring but Tom has just returned and carried out remedial work to remove all those remaining bulbs and it looks great again.

As owners of multiple dogs, our garden had got into a bit of a mess over the last couple of years and we needed to do something to make it easier to manage going forward. We decided that having slabs put in the area where our grass was would be the best course of action. We contacted David and his team and within a few days we had a quote and were given a date of when the work could start. The team who completed the work were very efficient, friendly, and courteous. Within four days the work was completed to a very high standard, and we are in the process of arranging some additional work to be done to another area of the garden. I would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone who is considering having their garden done. Thank you so much!

Really pleased with the work Sunderlands have done transforming our garden. Communication with Thomas throughout was great, keeping us to date on deliveries, project timelines, etc. The team did a brilliant job. We’re really happy with the finish.

Our drive way was an absolute mess and an embarrassment to look at.. parking on one side made it impossible and would damage our cars, for a while we were looking for quotes and just had kept being put off with prices, as you can see in the pictures our driveway was just getting worse, it was time to finally do something about it. Sutherlands landscapes were working on a garden round the corner of our house and so we decided to see if they would come and take a look at our swamp of a driveway, Tom came round the next day and was very friendly, honest, and could see we really needed help and seemed keen to get our driveway looking fresh and welcoming. After some talks and design ideas we were happy to go ahead with their great quote and they started a week later! Something we noticed straight away about Sutherlands landscapes is how hard these guys work, perfectionists, tidy and reliable trades men, they pushed through and worked in horrid weather to get the job done and in the promised finish time, we were kept up to date on a daily basis on what they would work on next, in less than a week we had a driveway, we couldn’t believe it, and from the pictures you can see just how much pride they take in their work, the before and after pictures speaks a thousand words! And with a two year guarantee they ensured us to please call if anything goes out of place and they would be round straight away to fix. Thank you so much for giving our house a fantastic facelift. I couldn’t recommend them more, definitely give them a call.

Dave and his team were great. I had a quote on Monday morning and by Friday afternoon the job had been done! A very efficient team and the work was high quality. Was a pleasure to wake up at the weekend to a much smarter garden!

For 3 years we have been planning and dreaming of our perfect garden. David and his team brought our vision to life. Their passion to complete the job well and attention to detail was brilliant. Thank you Thomas, Steve and Tom. See below before and after pictures.

I just had a fencing job done, and I must say it was a great experience. The team from Sutherlands was not only friendly and neat, but their communication throughout the project was excellent. The standard of workmanship they displayed was top-notch and exceeded my expectations. I am extremely satisfied with the outcome of the fencing job and would highly recommend their services.

Fair price, good work carried out, in awful weather conditions as well. Polite and helpful

We enquired with Sutherlands Landscape and within a day, Tom had assessed the work that needed to be done and provided us with a quote. We were extremely lucky that they had availability in the next two days to complete the work. Tom and his colleague were punctual, kept us updated and completed the work within the timeframe they had given us. They were also both efficient and a pleasure to talk to. We will definitely be contacting them again for further work. Thanks again, you did a much better job than we could have done!

After being let down by two tradesmen I contacted David about a small job I needed doing. He responded quickly, came out to look at what was required. Thomas came to complete the work for me soon after. Excellent - job completed in no time to a high standard whilst I was out; Thomas returned later to show me what he had done and check I was completely happy with it! Efficient, polite and highly skilled!

Sutherlands were very efficient and helpful booking me in at short notice to install a patio, plus repair and jetwash old paving. The patio part of the job looks crisp and smart and the team suggested and took on design ideas for a finish I was very happy with. They were prompt, tidy and kept in touch throughout. I would recommend 👍

What a great team, very happy with the whole service and end results provided by Sutherlands

Very pleased with the work carried out by these guys, especially as it was so cold. Thank you David, Thomas and Tom, looking forward to seeing you again on our next project.

Needed a retaining wall for a collapsing bank.Sutherland landscape gardens completed it in a week. The team worked really hard in very cold weather. Very pleased with the results .

My customer journey with Sutherlands was easy, helpful and professional. David made sure he understood my requirements and made some helpful observations and suggestions. Thomas likewise arrived on schedule and got on with the work and made sure I was happy and cleaned up afterwards. David then personally visited me to ensure I was totally satisfied with the work done. And I was! So, I definitely recommend Sutherlands to anyone reading my review!

Highly recommend Sutherlands Landscapes, the team were very professional and made quick work of installing a new fence along our garden in just 2 days. They even patched up our driveway which was poorly constructed by a previous landscaper at no extra cost. Can't recommend enough!

It has been a pleasure having Sutherlands do some pathways for us. When we moved in we did an extension and ruined some of the garden paths. The rest of the path was also very old and somewhat mismatched - not very pleasing at all. The first two pix are before we started the extension. The third pic is the extension being built and the pathway being destroyed! The rest of the pics are the wonderful new pathway we now have - neat and tidy and the same pavers all the way through. They also built the step by the glass door too - no more mud being brought in! Yeah. Thank you to David and the men for a great job.

Friendly efficient team, did a great job, clean and tidy, very happy with the results, created a fantastic new garden for us in short space of time. Strongly recommend

Sutherland have created a wonderful space in our garden that will give us years of pleasure. High quality materials and expert workmanship have transformed our garden. The paving is about as perfect as you can get and the pond is just beautiful.

Really pleased with the work completed by David and his team. They were efficient, communicated through out and made the whole process stress free. Jeff and Steve were really respectful whilst working on our garden. I would definitely recommend Sutherlands :)

Very professional and works to a high. Would highly recommend.

Sutherlands provided a fantastic overall service. They listened to our requests and were able to accommodate everything we asked for with real finesse and at a reasonable price. I would thoroughly recommend the team to anyone. Nick Thompson 14-10-2023

Superb, great communication, professional, outstanding quality, very impressed, highly recommended!

Over the moon with the service of Sutherlands landscapes! Would 100% recommend.

Did an amazing job on my garden. So in love with it now. Friendly and professional at all times. Definitely recommend 😁

Drainage issues sorted. New fence installed. Step on patio faced with tiles. All work carried out to a high standard at a reasonable price. Can highly recommend

we had our fire pit area built by sutherlands with porcelain tiles and artificial grass. the service and quality of work was fantastic and hope to have them back to do some work on the front of my property soon.

First class job. We thoroughly recommend David & his team (Steve & Jeff + Matthew). Worked well together in very difficult weather conditions. Everything about them was 1st. Class. We are absolutely delighted with the end product

I had a great experience with David and his team! Very professional and efficient. I couldn't be more pleased with the work he's done! The garden was a mess before but now it's looking like a show room garden! My wife thought i was bananas asking for a landscape gardener to do work as she thought it would be expensive but David quoted me a very reasonable price. A job well done 👏

I had Sutherlands landscapes in to do my mothers garden. They made the process so stress free, answered all my questions and did a fantastic job with everything. I'd had a bad experiences in the past with another firm so was hesitant initially but I'm so glad we went for it with these guys. 5 stars for everything!

I would recommend Sutherlands Landscaping to everyone. David and his team were very transparent, very professional, pricing was very reasonable (he was cheaper than two other quotes we had) and the team were very tidy. Totally transformed our outside space to one we can enjoy now. If I could rate more than 5 stars, I would 👍

I can't say enough good things about Sutherlands Landscapes! Our garden was in pretty rough shape, but they worked their magic and now it looks incredible. The team was professional and easy to work with. They really know their stuff and made our space beautiful. We're so happy with the result, and we'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking to spruce up their garden. Great job!

Genuine, with attention to detail.

I had a fantastic experience with Sutherlands Landscapes for my garden transformation. The team put in tremendous effort, and the communication between the management and me was truly exceptional. I'm thrilled with the results!

We recently had decking removed and sandstone patio and wall built, the lads were excellent, cleaned up after the job, took everything away and made suggestions that enhanced the whole job- very happy with the final job

Unfortunately, while we have given Sutherlands several attempts to rectify the issues with our garden, after completing initial works back in 2022, we have not had a finished garden for 15 months now. When we have challenged the issues, they have resorted to lying and make false accusations and are now refusing to complete any more guarantee works even though we were provided a 5 year guarantee. We believe that pictures speak a thousands words to the quality of a job done. Some of the “highlights” that we have had to contend with include: • We had to point out that multiple slabs have been laid incorrectly. We still have slabs where the spacing between them is now inconsistent and the slabs were sealed too soon after being laid which has resulted in salt stains and when they lifted slabs, they re-laid them in the incorrect place. • Not compacting the soil before laying turf which caused lawn to sink by more than 1” and numerous undulations which made it difficult to mow. o Since then, they have twice attempted to dress the lawn with topsoil to fix the problem, however they didn’t ensure lawn was cut back first and dumped substandard topsoil on top, including hundreds of stones (perfect for chewing up lawnmower blades), rusty screws and even large shards of glass! • Concrete shed base was not poured level, resulting in a 50mm change in height from one side to the other. While staff may have changed since the original works in our garden, the team sent to carry out the guarantee work were also responsible for the recent issues and overall, David seems to have forgotten that he is ultimately responsible for all the work carried out. He has not demonstrated the competencies or management skills to execute the job. There was always an excuse or blasé attitude when issues are raised rather than owning the problem and taking it seriously. It says a lot about the standards of a company when they are willing to leave hazards on the lawn which create a safety issue, especially for pets and children.

A very sad garden was transformed to an easy to manage area, by the Sutherlands Landscaping team. Changes of design due to product unavailability were dealt with professionally. The gazebo was erected by a different company, but recommended by Sutherlands. I now have more plants (in pots and planters) than I had before and somewhere to admire them from.

We live in a new build house and recently had our blank canvas of a garden landscaped by David and his team, adding 2 patios, a path, stepping stones, a shed base and sleeper beds. The whole process was smooth right from the start and nothing was too much trouble. David worked with us to settle on a design, quickly updating quotes and making suggestions for materials. Work started quickly and the guys on site, Steve and Jeff, were absolutely brilliant. Always on time, polite and professional. They had really practical solutions for all the details that popped up along the way and their input made a huge difference in turning the design into a reality. We're so pleased with how the garden looks now & can't wait for the warmer weather to enjoy it. We cannot recommend Sutherlands highly enough.

I'm very happy to leave a review for Sutherlands, as they recently finished our new driveway and we're very happy with the results. Our old gravel drive was causing some problems inside our house, as it was contributing to damp with poor drainage, so we were worried about finding a company that would not only do a good looking drive, but would be aware of the technicalities of how it was affecting the house itself. Sutherlands understood all this straight away and made suggestions for solving those problems, as well as for doing what was going to look good too. David, the owner, was easy to deal with, with good fast communication. The guys actually doing the work were Steve and Geoff and they were superb - probably the best tradesmen we've ever had on any job. They were decent, friendly, helpful and amazing workers. The care and attention to detail they put in, and their skill at very difficult work was really impressive. Several of our neighbours have even come up to me and said how they noticed how much care and pride they seemed to have in the work they were doing. They seemed to have no problem recommending things that would make their jobs more difficult, going the extra mile for the sake of doing a good quality job. Both of them are a big asset to Sutherlands. We're extremely pleased with the end result and definitely highly recommend Steve, Geoff and Dave of Sutherlands.

Very very pleased from the start. From meeting my requirements snd my budget to work for me to the great Team that turned up..helpfull , listened to any concerns, came up with great alternatives, tidy, was a delight to see them clear up every day. Would not hesitate to recommend am very happy with final outcome

Sutherland Landscapes transformed my garden. It’s hard to find someone who can do hard landscaping with such care and eye to detail ….David’s team are amazing! Nothing is too much trouble for them. They changed my garden from average to an amazing space that is like a room outdoors. I can’t recommend them highly enough…you will not be disappointed.

David and his team has done a fantastic job in our garden. They have carried out a complete redesign of the garden which included two large patios, four raised flower beds, removing old turf, level the whole area & re-turfing with sleepers border around it. From the beginning David came across very knowledge and experienced in this field. Throughout the project he kept us informed of what was happening, he would talk through all the ideas with us and he kept to the quote he has given us. His team is really helpful and very experienced. Overall, very happy with Sutherlands Landscapes Ltd, highly recommend them! Please see the before and after photos.

David and his team recently did the cladding on my property, I cannot recommend them enough. The entire process was painless and quick from start to finish. I look forward to using them again in the future to change the door.

Quality workmanship

Really pleased with our new patio, the service we got was outstanding and quality of the work couldn’t be better. Recommended!

Installed new patio for us. Guys were incredible, they turned up on time and ensured everything was left tidy
