We have been very impressed by the whole experience of using CGE Yorkshire for assessing our needs, explaining everything clearly including answering all of our questions, installing an Air Source Heat Pump in a quirky old building and providing us with a lovely new heating system. Great service from the whole team - Emma in the office, Jamie managing the work and the very skilled team of installers.

workman polite and supplied information when request, removed all rubbish with no issues, did a quick job kept me well informed at all times arrive as planned each day, overall this was simple, and job seems to be good, looks nice, works well, and the job was good, simple and seems to have been done well cannot fault the workmen, very professional and informative, would recommend this company if you need a new system installed.

We are now sat in a cozy and warm home despite it being -5 degrees outside having had a heat pump installed a few days ago. We also had seven radiators replaced which meant that they were also VAT free. We were so happy with the level of service. It is quite a big job, but CGE made sure we were disrupted as little as possible. It was a highly professional service from beginning to end and now we get to enjoy a warmer home and lower bills.

We had our ASHP serviced by CGE Yorkshire and the engineer was fantastic, very friendly and too on time to explain the ASHP. Thanks again- will definitely use again for our regular service.

CGE Yorkshire installed a heat pump at our home. The whole process was clear and well organised, with regular updates and quick responses. Installation was smooth, tidy, and without disruption. The heat pump is very quiet and works exactly as expected. Good service, quality work, and fair pricing.

We had a very bad experience with a very poor Solar Company in Sheffield who have since folded and restarted. This happened in 2022. They lied, lied and lied again. We needed a new roof as they only used sub-contractors who cut corners, yet they told us they were all employees, (Big lie). it took 3 years through all the avenues but even all the watch dogs fell asleep. The only people that helped us was CGE of Yorkshire based in Thirsk. Thank you Andy, Jamie, the office staff Emma, etc and your engineers for a thoroughly professional job. I am a little late in posting this review as I do not post many, but I wanted to see how our new system worked. I am delighted with the generation, I am now able to sell my excess, for 15p kWh, which is greater that our production, as I now have MCS registration. My EV car and 10 kW of storage is now boosted at 7p kWh. CGE Yorkshire engineers have made our new installation neat and tidy with all the labels before live cables were left dangling over our loft floor. Without hesitation, CGE are welcome to show their prospective clients our install. Photographs and videos are not being added as they will not be of any benefit especially if you are thinking of solar and battery storage. I recently had a full solar and battery storage system installed by CGe Yorkshire, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the entire experience from start to finish. Customer Service & Communication: From the initial enquiry through to post-installation support, the team at CGE Yorkshire were responsive, knowledgeable, and transparent. They were happy to answer all my technical questions (and I had plenty) and took the time to ensure I fully understood how the system would integrate into my home and energy usage. Installation Quality: The install team arrived on time, were professional throughout, and completed the job efficiently with minimal disruption. The panels and battery system were installed with a tidy finish and clear attention to detail. All work was done to a high standard, and the team made sure everything was tested and functional before leaving. System Performance & Setup: CGe Yorkshire installed a 13-panel, 5.265 kWp system (JA Solar panels), a Fox ESS H1-5.0-E hybrid inverter, and 7.5 kWh of Mira HV25 battery storage, along with an iBoost for hot water. Aftercare & Support: Post-installation, they were available to help with any app integration and troubleshooting. They’ve remained available for questions, which gives me real confidence in their commitment to customer service. Final Thoughts: I shopped around before committing, but CGE Yorkshire stood out for their honesty, value, and technical expertise. The price was fair, and there were no hidden costs. CGE recently installed solar panels, battery, and ASHP for us. The quotation and survey were done very efficiently, there was no pressure to make a quick decision (not everyone we got quotes from was as responsive). Prices were competitive. The install was efficient, and things were left tidy afterwards. The solar system works better than we expected (we had panels on our old house, so already had expectations). It's the wrong time of year to get a good feel for how well the heat pump is managing the heating, but certainly the hot water works better than we expected (the cylinder (re)heats much faster than anticipated). After the install, they were responsive responding to questions, and were prompt about popping back to tidy up a few loose ends.

Just had a heat source pump fitted by CGE team. Still early days yet and very sunny so don't require heating other than water! All working well. From initial enquiry to completion everyone has been professional hard working and friendly. Would definitely recommend this company. They also fitted our friends down the road at the end of last year.. so they recommend them as well. Everything done on promptly and done when agreed. All work guys were tidy and fun to have around.. We had the same music taste as the plumbing team, great 70,s play list we requested that they played it for us. 😀

Very good products and fitting services but sadly extremely poor after sales service. No one seems to want to help with any problems. Was told their Director was so busy in meetings to reply to my two emails.

Just had solar panels fitted by CGE, found the company to be friendly and knowledgeable about their products, fitting staff very friendly and helpful leaving no mess and everything working as should. Would definitely recommend!

This is an organisation that does not care about customer care once they have installed and taken your money. Despite various components having a ten year guarantee, when something goes wrong they repeatedly ignore your telephone calls. My I boost had a two year warranty. I had to have it uninstalled after it stopped working and was sent back to the manufacturer. Marlec was fantastic, and replaced the unit. I had to have the unit uninstalled. cGE Yorkshire could not be bothered to come out. In addition, Andy from CGEYorkshire repeatedly ignored calls and written messages. The company office did exactly the same. Electrical issues, and damage remain outstanding despite being notified. This organisation is not interested in customer care once they have your money. Extremely disappointed when a problem occurs. You are left to fend for yourself with no support.

Excellent firm to deal with!! They installed our Air Source Heat Pump & associated equipment, it replaced our gas combi boiler. We now have the heating on 24 hours every day 7 days a week. This costs the same to run as the 3 year old combi gas boiler, which was only on 3 hours in a morning & 6 hours in the evening. By the end of the first day of installation we had a fully running system, they had to return the next day to finish off & tidy up. The installers were well trained & friendly, nothing was a problem! This system is ideal for people who are at home all day. I.E. pensioners, or people who work from home, its the best thing we have had done. Our home is a 1980s 3 bed bungalow, with cavity wall insulation, 200mm of loft insulation, and we also had below the floor insulation installed by ourselves (100mm thick from B&Q). They are a great firm to deal with. Jamie (the owner) is very easy to talk to, and will spend as long as necessary to explain how the system works. There was no pressure to buy the system from him. If you have any questions , they are only a phone call away. They also carry out the annual servicing of the heating system. Solar Panel fault/repair At the end of January our solar panel system stopped working (12 yrs old). I phoned CGE & asked if they could send out and engineer to repair a system which they had not installed, no problem was the answer. A couple of days later, Dave was at our back door, lovely chap, our invertor had been showing that there was a fault in the equipment on the roof, he checked the incoming wiring from the roof (solar panels) , next he'd found we had a faulty solar panel, he linked that panel out from the rest, the fault went away, system fully functional. Happy customer!! Friendly well trained staff, who think going the extra mile is no problem. I highly recommend CGE Yorkshire, you can trust them!! Unlike a lot of others out there.

I really can’t fault their work or staff in fitting our air source heat pump. The system works well and was installed with great workmanship and courtesy by their team. The quote was honoured without any alteration for any reason. The ‘making good’ of replacing flooring and some minor re plastering was to a high standard. Good job done!

CGE installed an air source heat pump in our slightly unconventional house in November 2024. We are very pleased with the outcome. This firm is excellent, right from initial advice, through grant application, installation, and follow-up support and guidance. Everything was clearly explained, and the fitters were courteous, communicative, clean and careful. The final bill was exactly as planned, with all grant paperwork done by the firm, and appropriate warranties and certificates supplied. And… we are warm! After some dodgy experiences with contractors in the past, this firm has showed how it can and should be done properly. We would recommend them heartily.

CGE Yorkshire fitted an ASHP to our house about 2 weeks ago. This went well. We had a very good service from the initial survey and quotation right through to installation and commissioning. The installation team knew their job and did it very professionally, leaving us with a neat and tidy installation. I had a slightly cheaper quote from another installer, but chose CGE as they gave me more confidence. So far, so good. I would recommend them.

CGE (Yorkshire) fitted my Solar PV System: 16 Sonnex Panels, 5kW Fox-ESS Inverter and Battery Management System with 5kW of Mira HV25 Batteries (extendable up to 17.5kW). They did an excellent job and the system was carefully installed and is working well. There was no pressure and the whole experience went very smoothly. Jamie visited and quoted for the system and was very knowledgable and helpful. Dave & Rich fitted the Panels and bird protection close to the roof ridge so as to avoid shadowing from a large tree in our garden; they also fitted a Gutter Brush at no extra charge so I don't have problems with leaf-fall or any ongoing maintenance. Harry did the electrical installation, going out of his way with the cable routing to avoid detracting from the look of our new build. They were all considerate and careful workers, preferring to do the job well rather than rushing it. CGE also service my ASHP which the builder fitted. I wasn't happy with the controller which was a single zone model when we have two zones (UFH on the ground floor and radiators on the first floor). Jason the plumber who did the service noted that the wrong controller was fitted and arranged for an exchange - at no cost to me - for the correct two zone controller, which Ryan fitted. I'm pleased that I found CGE, would recommend them and continue to use them for my annual ASHP service. It's actually quite difficult to find a company that really knows all parts of these sorts of installations (plumbing, electrical and associated apps) but CGE really do know their stuff - you would be in safe hands with them.

We have had our Heat Pump for nearly three years. Excellent company and recommend to anyone who ask. It is efficient and saves on our heating bills. Jamie was brilliant and explained everything and the guys from Barnsley who installed were just brilliant. If you want a Heat Punp these are your people.

We've had the unfortunate displeasure of having them working on a property we rent. We have the ecodan system, we went around 4 months with the heating stuck on over the summer if we wanted hot water on, countless cancellations/ uncountable phone calls and 4 visits later one of there employees stated they'd made a 'temporary fix' when it was fitted, another month or so of more phone calls and cancellations they get a sparky out and it's fixed within an hour after running up a £2k electricity bill. The systems still not working properly, I works full time and have had to make numerous phone calls to them, they were meant to be carrying out the work tomorrow (despite trying to cancel again Friday at 4.30 because they didn't have the part) when I've put annual leave in already, I asked why he hadn't ordered the part earlier for Andy to say 'you don't walk into tesco and expect them to have your shopping ordered 2 weeks previous'. They cold called today expecting to assess the system and disturbed me whilst working with a suicidal client they were banging at the door until I eventually had to hold my call and answer only to be abused at my own front door when I refused them access stating I was working so we've refused to let them do the work tomorrow. Rang Andy who thinks it's acceptable for his employees to abuse women in a house alone. Employees are RUDE and ABUSIVE!! Val who works on the phone is RUDE and Andy is beyond RUDE, this company DO NOT know the meaning of the word professionalism. I would avoid at all costs.

After a year with sporadic heating and no hot water, Mark, Andy and Jamie CGE Engineering have been extremely helpful in installing my new air source heat pump so that everything would be up and running before Christmas. Excellent service Happy with the whole installation

From our initial contact to completion we found CGE Yorkshire to be very professional and helpful. The quote we received was very competitive & all contact with the company was very friendly. The technicians that completed the installation of the solar panels were friendly & the work was completed within 1 day, with the minimum of disturbance. On our first meeting the technology of the solar system was explained & the expected benifits highlighted. Since installation we have been delighted with the effectiveness of the system and would highly recommend CGE Yorkshire.

CGE installed a heat for us replacing two end of life gas boilers. Jamie came out to do the survey on the house and completed all of the heat calculations. He advised on the best location for the new heat pump and answered any questions which we had. In the end we had 5 radiators upgraded which was done very efficiently with no redecoration required. As we already had solar panels CGE installed a iBoost which uses excess power to heat our hot water. We have reduced our carbon footprint and reduced our heating costs. Friendly and knowledgeable company to deal with and would recommend for renewables.

We have now had our Solar PV and battery system from CGE for just over a year and have been very happy from first contact right through. CGE respond quickly to queries both pre and post sales by phone, text and email. Installation was done with consultation and our panels were positioned to give a symmetrical look which was important to us as they face the street. The relevant warranties and DNO forms were supplied to us as soon as they were available by CGE so we were able to apply for export payments quickly, which with Octopus export tariffs has made a big difference to our ROI. Since installation all queries and issues have been dealt with quickly and resolved with excellent support being provided. Based on our experience CGE Yorkshire Ltd are a good choice for installing a Solar PV system.

We were new to solar energy but decided it was for us. Research showed that this firm provided a whole package for solar energy, sourcing the panels, equipment and fitting and comparison with other firms revealed that they were competitive. Each step, from explanation of the system, to quotation and through to fitting was competently handled. We did have some issues over our inverter, but that was replaced under guarantee (these are provided for everything supplied) We were given all the documentation required to sell excess power on to the grid. After sales service is excellent and it's good to know that we can pick up the phone and speak to this firm who have proved themselves to be very supportive.

Very impressed with solar Panel installation by CGE Yorkshire The whole process from initial consultation to completion was a little haphazard but with all questions answered in an open and transparent manner backed up with written quotes. They were in fact the only company we spoke to who came and did a site visit which was invaluable. Solar panels took a little while to organise but once sorted the guys who installed them were extremely quick and efficient, especially given that access wasn’t easy and it was very cold. Panels were up and running the same day.

Jamie suggested a solar panel and battery setup (simulator to what we had in mind), he was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. CGE Yorkshire's team installed on 03/03/23 a solar system with 16 panels, inverter and batteries at our house in Northallerton, including an App which shows all details required to follow working and usage. Andy and his team did all the work in 1 1/2 day including the link up to the grid, and they did a fantastic job. They were very pleasant, polite, clean and quick and definitely very professional!
