Our boiler service for this year was more thorough than we have had for many years. Great to see before and after photos, a clear review of work that was done and sensible answers to my questions. Martin was polite and on time and seemed to know his stuff. Hopefully get him again next time!

Contacted Nicholsons for a service on my 2 year old boiler, their response to my query was immediate, availability was great and prices extremely reasonable. First Class Service from a local company to replace an ageing boiler with a brand new Vaillant. From initial consultation where a range of boilers (and prices) were recommended, to fitting and after sales service, everything went to plan and on time. The fitters were polite, tidy and nothing was too much trouble - they were a credit to the company. Highly recommend. Regularly checked and great service as always from Brian today (June 2026) explaining all work carried out.

Had our boiler replaced with a modern, like-for-like, unit after the old one packed in and the service provided by Nicholson's was first class. Communication was clear and swift with booking in the install and the 2 lads that came down to do the job were great. Very respectful of the house and cleaned up all their mess when they left...almost couldn't tell they had been in bar the brand new boiler. Highly reccomended!

This week we had our boiler replaced by Nicholson Heating Services. We received nothing less than a 1st class service from start to finish. Our episode started with a call out for the failed boiler. Ian explained and showed us the problem issues with our current boiler and we agreed that a replacement would be the best option. The office then emailed details and costs of various boiler replacement options explaining the benefits of each, there were options for all budgets. As we were without heating and hot water, we were given a quick slot for installation. Will & Matty carried out the installation, they were polite, friendly, tidy and even covered my motorbikes to avoid dust & damage. The finished installation far exceeded our expectations, super tidy pipe work and even replaced my problematic pipe taps. Also signed up for their care package for full piece of mind. Can't recommend them highly enough. 5*

What particularly impressed me was his thoroughness, despite the filter being in an awkward position, he drained it properly, ensuring that the surrounding area was dry and clean before cleaning the filter showing me pictures of it, which hadn't been done before. He also had a look at the Atag One programmer giving me tips about its use.Courteous and very knowledgeable, and reliable. I would have to say an asset to the company. Highly recommended. Needed a replacement boiler fitted 6 years ago. All the reviews about Nicholsons were first rate. From first contact and then advice on best system for the house, I was very impressed. The Atag boiler that was recommended to me has been excellent and certainly cut my gas usage. From that time, I’ve used them for all work on my heating system such as leaks or replacement radiators, as well as the annual servicing of the boiler. Every time I’ve been totally satisfied with their responsiveness, the standard of the work and importantly the consistently good customer service I’ve received. As a result, I’ve also arranged for them to service my son’s boiler since he moved into his own house.

You recently serviced our boiler and we found the engineer, Martin to be very polite, professional and thorough. In addition to the boiler he checked the tank and all the radiators, bleeding where necessary.

The reason for the initial call out was a problem in our underfloor heating. Ian from Nicholson was the only one from the three companies we contacted who persevered and located the source of the problem. One company couldn’t trace the fault and the other was only interested in selling a new boiler. As our 20 year old boiler was in fact at the end of its life we decided to go for a replacement system. Work involved a new Atag combi boiler relocated to the garage freeing up space in the kitchen. New pipework was installed, old hot water tank removed and the gas supply adjusted. New valves and room thermostat controls were also included . David, Matty and Jack were friendly, efficient and did a great job. What a pleasure to meet two young apprentices so enthusiastic about their work. We needed a couple of follow up visits to tweak the system all within the original quote. We also received pro active advice from Ian and John as we acquainted ourselves with a new system. Office staff have also been very helpful, pleasant and what a difference to be able to speak to someone locally. We now have a much more efficient heating system. While other boiler options were quoted with full information we went with Atag as Nicholsons are approved by the manufacturer for maintenance and have booked the annual care package with them. We have no hesitation in recommending.

I highly recommend Nicholson’s; best experience we have had in a very long time! An absolutely brilliant job done and top class customer service from every member of the team we engaged with. A massive thanks to the whole team. After a winter of numerous issues with our heating system including a 12 year old combi boiler, we bit the bullet and decided to have the system replaced as the pipework in the system was constantly getting clogged up. We arranged for three companies to quote and from first contact Nicholson’s impressed us with the high level of professionalism and overall approach. Ian Nicholson came out to review the job and promptly provided a very detailed recommendation explaining that our internal pipe work, boiler and radiators needed to be replaced. The quote offered multiple options so that we could align to our budget. We selected a Vaillant boiler and selected a few upgrades to the standard Stelrad radiators. Given the upheaval in the house, we were able to arrange for the work to be done whilst we were on holiday, demonstrating the level of trust we had. The job was done in 5 days and we were highly delighted upon our return to have a fully operational system and the house was pretty much spotless. David the engineer who did the work called into see us when we returned - he talked us through what he had done and how to set the boiler. I personally thanked him for how clean and tidy he had kept things. He is a credit to the company. During the job I had a couple of email updates from Nicola and Charlotte who work in the office, so we knew how things were progressing in our absence. Again great friendly and professional service. We highly recommend Nicholson’s, so pleased with the high quality level of work and service we received. Signed up for the annual service plan and look forward to working with the team again!

After sometime researching and gathering estimates to have my old Baxi boiler replaced, I decided that Nicholson heating service was best for my needs. I wanted good quality workmanship and professionalism which they delivered also the peace of mind the work carried out would be within regulations and gas safe. Installed a combo boiler for us. Two young lads, not very professional. Drilled too big of a hole and poorly cemented. Installed a large BLACK pipe instead of a small white one like promised and that would match the rest of the house! Caused a leak during installation and had to wait for someone to repair it. We had our regular boiler replaced with a combi boiler by Nicholson's Heating in February 2023. Now, almost two years later, we feel it’s the perfect time to share a considered review of the system and its long-term performance. In short, we couldn’t be happier with the results. Switching from a regular boiler to a combi boiler was a decision we made carefully. Our main goals were to remove the cold water tanks from the loft, reducing the risk of leaks and freezing, and to free up space in the house by removing the hot water tank from the airing cupboard. These changes have allowed us to make much better use of our home, and the results have exceeded our expectations. We chose an ATAG IC Economiser 35 Plus combi boiler, which was quite an expensive option, but it has been worth every penny. This boiler is extremely economical—identified as the most economical boiler in Europe—and it has lived up to its reputation. Our central heating system now works superbly, and we enjoy a constant supply of hot water thanks to the switch to a combi boiler. The boiler has been incredibly quiet in operation and far less costly than the alternative of a heat pump installation. The overall installation has proven to be 100% reliable. In nearly two years, we have had no problems whatsoever. The team from Nicholson’s Heating who carried out the work were absolutely excellent—superior in every way. They completed the job on time, within the agreed budget, and within the specified time period. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and good humour made the entire process stress-free. We were also impressed by the long-term warranty provided with the boiler. We decided to pay a little extra to extend this to 14 years, covering all parts and labour, with a lifetime replacement guarantee on the heat exchanger. This has given us tremendous peace of mind, knowing that we’re covered for years to come. Annual servicing, carried out by Nicholson’s Heating, has also been extremely cost-effective, ensuring the warranty remains valid. As part of the installation, we opted for the Hive wireless control system instead of Nest, and it has been absolutely brilliant. It allows us to control the boiler via the Internet when we’re away from home, and the usual timer and thermostatic controls in the wireless package work seamlessly. The Hive system has been flawless, with no glitches whatsoever, and we highly recommend it to anyone considering a similar setup. In conclusion, we cannot recommend Nicholson's Heating, the ATAG IC Economiser 35 Plus boiler, and the Hive system highly enough. This has been a terrific installation that has transformed our home’s heating and hot water system. It is economical, reliable, and efficient, and the workmanship was second to none. A huge thank you to Nicholson’s Heating for a job done to the highest possible standard! We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Nicholson’s for your heating needs.

We had a heating & hot water emergency just before Christmas, and this family run firm couldn't have been more helpful - really great prompt service, fitting us in for the work just a few days after our initial call. Mr Nicholson and his apprentice did a great job of it, finding ways to minimise the disruption, and leaving everything clean and tidy. From initial quote to final goodbye my dealings with this company were excellent. I needed an old boiler removing and a new Atag combi boiler fitted. This involved a lot of pipe work changes and old hot water tank removal. This work was done with the minimum of disruption and mess. Just had a new boiler fitted by Nicholson heating services, they come out within an hour to inspect the old broken boiler and I had a new one fitted the next day. The team that fitted the new boiler and the staff in the office were very professional, I would highly recommend this company.

This is the 2nd boiler service from Nicholsons after having a boiler fitted by them 3 year ago. I received a text to say the engineer was on his way. He arrived promptly, was polite, and left no mess.

Couldn't t be happier with the service from Nicholson heating services. After a week of no heating or hot water because of an incompetent plumber i rang Nicholson heating who had an engineer out that day who explained my options and why. They replaced my old boiler the very next day. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and every step from the initial contact to replacing the boiler was totally professional without being pushy and in your face, which to me, makes all the difference. We were expertly talked through the different options, and great advice given to help us make decisions about underfloor heating, and different boiler options. Nothing was too much trouble. We needed a new combi boiler installed as the old one was not fit for purpose. Contacted Nicholsons for a price - initial visit discussed what was needed, from this we were given the options of boiler/manufacturer would work for us and the price. This made it easy to choose with confidence which boiler would work for us. Phones to confirm our choice and were given an installation date. The installers arrived on time, explained what they would be doing, placed protective covering over the floor and changed the boiler and the new radiator we asked for. From start to finish they did a perfect job, took the old boiler etc away and tidied the area. Before they left explained how to use the new boiler etc. Impressed with whole process from start to finish from the young lady who answers the calls and to the guys who carries out the instillation. Just perfect. I now have a boiler and new radiator which not only costs less to use than the old one but is quieter and more efficient and easier to used too. Happy customer and can’t recommend this company enough. The only disappointment is I’ll have to box my lovely new boiler in when I get my new kitchen …….

Nicholson's installed my Vaillant boiler system in 2019 and have been servicing it annually since. They are always punctual, sort out any problems and on the couple of occasions that the system displayed a fault message they have responded immediately. I would recommend Nicholson Heating Services without hesitation. We recently had our 10.5yr old Worcester boiler replaced with ATAG boiler by Nicholsons. They fitted old boiler & we've had great service over last 10.5 years. Fault developed & we had quick response & advised on various options, from repair & 6 different boiler packages 2 each for ATAG, Worcester & Baxi. We were not put under any pressure but given time to consider & given honest advice, we've always felt confident in the advice from Nicholsons. We decided on ATAG which was fitted promptly. The engineers who came on the day did a great job, arriving on time & getting the job done efficiently & leaving no mess. Communication with the office staff getting advice & everything organised was great too.

Wow after 46 years of getting many different types of tradesmen I had in to my bungalow or previous houses to do a job for me including at least 4 or 5 different heating Companys for both full central heating systems or a boiler exchange. I can honestly say this company are second to none started with a telephone call to request a quote for a replacement boiler having in mind the make of boiler i wanted anyway Mr Nicholson Snr called out to give me a price and advice he mentioned about a different boiler i had never heard of ATAG He said he would get my estimate over to me which was emailed to me the following day, giving me a price on 4 or 5 different boilers including the extra work required to alter the pipwork and not only the different prices but also the full information on each boiler i was going for a Worcester Bosch again but the ATAG was looking more appealing yes a bit more expensive than i thought but tbh they all were. What made my decision both based on reviews and Mr Nicholsons advice but also with the ATAG system instead of the 10 year warranty i wanted by paying £280 more i could have a 14 year warranty on parts and labour so as getting olderer ;-( so it made sense to go for the ATAG I rang the office and said that was the one i wanted it was all sorted in minutes via email and of course deposit, the lads that came to do the install were ambassadors for the company they were brilliant i would say the best i have ever had everything was fully explained to me they covered the kitchen with sheets no mess or anything was lef at all once installed they explained everything and said any issues whatsoever we're a phone call away and that was that. I would recommend them over any company i have used for 45-46 years thats how good they are. Granted possibly a bit morepricey than others but your also kind of buying piece of mind and the icing or cherry on the top of the cake there a local company probably a mile and a half from me in Northburn Edge. So i would like to thank everyone from the canny lass i spoke to on the phone to Mr Nicholson and also the brillint the fitters a day or two after installation i rang the office and asked if the lad who did the installation could pop back and fit the thermostat on the wall although its wireless i prefer it on the wall so a day or so later that was arranged for it turned out one of Mr Nicholsons sons called i explained the way i preffered to have the thermostat nothing a problem within a few minutes it was back in the position on the wall where its been for over 18 years. So if you want a class job done then its a no brainer honestly. So a big massive thank you to all at Nicholsons Heating Services from a very happy customer.

Boiler Annual Service. Can’t fault them. Turned up at the right time. Well presented technician who seemed knowledgeable about our boiler. Contacted Nicholsons heating to get a quote for a new combi boiler, arranged visit/and got quote with in 3 days. Arranged to have a Baxi 836 boiler with hive thermostat fitted the following week. The boiler was fitted quickly and with minimum disruption, the lads were professional and friendly, they double checked all the radiators and valves around the house. The outside work was clean and tidy as needed an condensation trap fitted under my decking. Will certainly recommend for the high quality and friendly service.

Absolutely brilliant service from beginning to end. Our boiler broke and we went into office where we met Ailsa who couldn't of been more helpful got somebody out within couple of hours for quote. Then spoke to someone in office ( can't remember her name sorry) who managed to fit us in very quickly , which was very impressive to us as we had no hot water. Excellent work by Nicholson's staff advising on a replacement combi boiler, and subsequent supply and installation of an ATAG iC Economiser 35 Plus, which has the added benefit of flue gas heat recovery to gain extra efficiency. Excellent service from start to finish. Great advice from John Nicholson snr on best make of boiler for our needs. Supplied and fitted promptly by Jacob and Liam. Two lovely lads, they never stopped and left the place spotless when they had finished. The job was a little awkward due to the location of our boiler within a cupboard but Jacob is very well qualified and his experience shone through. He did an amazing job with good humour throughout. Myself and my dad had new boilers fitted by Nicholsons. My dad got the silver Vaillant Etotec boiler suitable for a house and i got the bronze Vaillant Ecotec boiler suitable for my flat. I could not recommend this company enough and they proved to be very reliable throughout. The receptionist is lovely and friendly and explained everything in full. The two lads Jacob and Liam who fit the boilers were hard workers, friendly and left no mess at all. They did a fantastic job and explained how to work everything once the boilers were fitted. Fantastic service from start to finish. Ailsa answered my call for help when boiler gave up on me and arranged engineer then quote and installation quickly, keeping in touch all through the process. We chose an ATAG Economiser Silver Combi 31KW, which was fitted by Gary and his apprentice who were both great, dust sheets put down and no mess at all. Can't fault the service at all and wouldn't hesitate to recomend.
