I recently had Solar Panels and Battery storage system installed by 1st Call Renewables in Sheffield. Joe was helpful from the start. During his site visit he explained where the Batteries and Inverter would fit and the probable route the wires would take from the Panels to the Batteries. The installation included 16 Jinko 455W solar panels, an EcoFlow 5kW inverter and 9.6kWh of battery storage. The whole system was installed neatly and professionally, with the cabling carefully routed through the loft and garage. All the Tradesmen that came to the house were very polite. They arrived on time on the day that had been agreed. Joe was happy to answer my questions, including an observation I had after the installation. I realized there was room for two more panels. I paid for these and they were added to the string the next day. I then noticed there was a problem with one of the solar strings. This was immediately corrected. The Solar Panel Installation has now been running for nearly four weeks. The App supplied is informative and you can check any time to see how the system is performing. The Panels generate enough power to run the house with power left to export to the grid. Overall, I am pleased with both the quality of the installation and the service I received from 1st Call Renewables. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone considering having solar panels and battery storage installed.
I used 1st Call to replace my old boiler/tank system with a new combi, as well as a couple of other smaller jobs. They were all brilliant, friendly engineers and helpful with any questions I had. Thanks to David and Darrell for the initial assessment and the combi installation, and Kile for help with a leak and a washing machine install which was a bit tricky due to its location, but he found a solution for it! Amanda who I was conversing with via email has also been great. Would definitely recommend!
We've used 1st Call for our central heating maintenance for years. When our inset solar PV system started to leak we elected to give them a try - the original installer had ceased trading, so that wasn't an option. It transpired that it was beyond economic repair so the choice was to replace either the system or about 2/3 of the roof. We elected for a new system. The job was complicated, didn't go entirely to plan and thanks to a spell of awful weather took rather a long time with many visits. That said, the contractors were persistent, did not compromise on quality of work and my queries were always answered fully and promptly. We now have a system that is more efficient than its predecessor, with a battery that smooths grid demand when the sun isn't shining. Oh - and it keeps the rain out! Why 5 stars for a job that took a lot of mucking about and went over time? Simple - if you really want to test someone's mettle, see how hard they try and how well they treat you when things don't go well. These folk delivered.

I recently had a solar power system installed by 1st Call Services, and I’m very pleased with the entire experience. I obtained quotes from three suppliers—two recommended by Which and Octopus Energy, my current energy provider. First Call offered the best system, especially considering I was focused on achieving a strong payback period. They were very helpful throughout the process and answered all of my many questions, as I initially knew very little about solar power. From start to finish, the whole process took about four weeks, including the installation. The teams who handled the scaffolding and installation were polite, efficient, and professional, and they ensured all waste was removed before leaving. Overall, they demonstrated a smooth and well organised process from beginning to end. Thank you.

We recently had our old boiler replaced. The guys that came to our house were amazing. They came just gone 8am and didn't stop till the job was complete just after 4pm. They explained to my elderly parents what was going to happen and made sure that they had enough water for the time that the water was going to be off. They covered our stairs to help with the footfall of going up and down. These guys were very professional and left no mess. I highly recommend them and so does my elderly parents . The customer service is exceptional and the fitters were extremely knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for them . All appointments were bang on schedule and dealt with incredibly professionally. 1st Call were recommended to me by a family member who were also highly satisfied with their work, courtesy and competitive price point . I have recently had the pleasure of using the services of 1st Call for my solar panels and battery storage. After debating this for some time I am beyond pleased I chose the right company to go ahead and make this happen for me. The whole experience from start to finish has been effortless, everyone I have been in contact with from the first initial call of interest, to the quotes, the engineers and the follow up calls and emails have been fantastic to deal with and incredibly knowledgeable. Any question or query I have had has been answered throughly, and all aspects of the work carried out has been explained thoroughly, efficiently and with a polite, courteous manner throughout. I cannot recommend 1st Call enough, please give them a call if it’s something you’re considering, I certainly know I’m in good hands with them from now onwards!
Highly recommend 1st Call. It was so nice to go to bed in a lovely warm room, get a good night's sleep, and wake up feeling toasty. As a landlord I need to sort things for my tenants and I usually use 1st Call Gas Services in an emergency. They came and replaced a boiler two working days after it was condemned at a competitive price (Ben did a great job). They also diagnosed the problem with a noisy boiler to a faulty regulator on the gas meter. Cadent came and said it probably wasn't the regulator, but it was, good call from the engineer David C that you sent two days before Christmas! Thank you. I'll be using you again in the future.
I have been deligthed with the service I received from this company. After ringing multiple plumbers, and my insurance failing to find someone for us after a boiler break down on Boxing day, Dave was very responsive and sent us an engineer within 30 minutes. A part had to be bought which couldn't be sorted straigh away but Dave kept in touch regularly over the weekend, helping us have some heating and answering any questions. The repair was completed in the time expected, Highly recommended.
I have no hesitation in highly recommending 1st Call Gas Services Limited. My 84 year old mum’s boiler had broken down during a recent spell of very cold weather. I contacted 1st Call who immediately understood mum’s vulnerability and acted incredibly quickly firstly in giving a second opinion on the condition of the boiler and secondly in installing a new boiler and flue. I reported an issue and they booked me in really quickly, Kile contacted me on the day with his time of arrival, he explained the problem and was really helpful and informative all the way through fixing it, which was done quickly and efficiently! 1st call is a company offering professional service. We have them install our new boiler. It was done within one day, and they came on time on the day. They went straight to work and didn't waste any time. After installing the boiler, we then found other old issues that were linked to other old parts of the water tank. We called them and they immediately arranged an engineer to come and check. They are really professional and efficient. We highly recommend this company. They are so professional.
I have dealt with 3 different members of staff over the past few weeks for different things as well as the the staff over the phone, All have been so friendly, helpful, and polite. They have been intouch before they have arrived and I’ve understood everything they have done they have all been so chatty as well as knowledgeable and sorting the problems out promptly and professionally. I’d definitely not hesitate about getting these guys out in the future for services, repairs or even a quick phone call for some advice if needed they are so approachable. :)

I already use 1st Call to look after my central heating at another property so I was aware of their excellent service. In this case I needed an EPC for my home, the representative was punctual, friendly, professional and efficient. He moved swiftly through the house taking measurements and importantly neither tried to sell me anything nor talk to me like an idiot (both important factors for me when dealing with tradespeople). The cost for the service was appropriate and good value and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for similar work.

Wanted to replaced my ideal combi boiler as it was old. Damon was very transparent during his survey and explained the options I had and provided 3 quotes for different models, he even offered to fix up some plumbing mistakes in the house (which I accepted at a later date). Got them booked in to replace the boiler within a week. Took a full day to install, Darrel was very professional and kept the house very clean. Removed all the debris and the old boiler from my house. Installed the honeywell smart thermostat which I've connected to google home, so everything is voice automated. 100% will recommend.
Kile came out to service the combi boiler system in the flat I purchased. He was efficient, communicative, and left everything clean and tidy. I wasn't familiar with this type of system, and he took the time to explain the things I needed to know to keep it in good condition.

Multiple other companies came and wouldn’t take the job since July. Dan and Dean did a cracking job under less than ideal circumstances. Much appreciated and fast. Now mother in law doesn’t have a freezing house in the winter.
Thanks to everyone at 1st call for coming and diagnosing the problems with our boiler. Had them recommended by a different plumber and couldn't fault their service, advice and quote.
Had a gas fire removed, my gas boiler serviced, 2 small parts fitted and 4 of my radiators filled after they had been taken off the walls for decorating. Work was done over 2 visits and both engineers were courteous, friendly and respectful of my home. Office staff were informed and helpful. However, I was really not happy with the pricing structure. I was quoted a price for the work which was reasonable compared to other companies I had contacted but after the jobs had commenced I was told I needed to pay by the hour for the work. The boiler needed 2 small, cheap (£15 total) parts which the engineer didn’t have so I had to pay for another 2 hours of labour for this and a recheck of everything the first engineer did. When the radiators were checked (another hour of labour) the engineer found there was small, cheap part missing from 1 radiator (he told me it should cost £1) however again he didn’t have the part on him so to resolve this problem I would have to have a third visit and pay for at least another hour of labour (£50 minimum). I can’t afford this so I’m going to try myself but it was very disappointing when you were quoted a fair price originally and ended up spending considerably more than this in the end. Work and customer service good but be prepared to pay much more than you’re quoted.
Worst company ever more like last call gas all they want to do is sell you new boiler as covered the heat exchanger buy when it went they said too much for them to repair so get a new boiler but over years British Gas replaced heat exchanger twice even when they came out when water was over flowing outside he just drained excess water which I said would happen when you refill which it did but they tried saying can’t get heat exchanger for vokera boiler so I checked on line and saw loads for sale all they wanted was for a boiler sale so went with boxt cheaper and great workmanship.would not recommend

I first came across 1st Call three years ago following a friend's recommendation. An elderly relative's boiler had broken down literally just before Christmas and they were in urgent need of help. 1st Call came to the rescue and impressed with their speed of response, professionalism and overall quality of service. Since then I've used them for my own boiler replacement and servicing, so have first hand experience of their commitment to customer care. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them - it's reassuring to know that you're in safe hands.

I've had a bad experience with another company that failed to wear their masks and keep a distance when doing their job, so it was great to see these guys were sticking to the rules and being professional. 100% recommended!
Our gas boiler wouldn't work last night, first time we turned it on this year. The pressure gauge was reading just over 3 on the dial which indicated there was a fault and to call a service engineer asap. Having seen other reviews of satisfied customers I called 1st Call and an engineer was at my home within the hour which was excellent service. £70 was quoted on the phone which turned out to be £84 with VAT which wasnt mentioned at the time of booking. The engineer drained some water out and was here 10mins. The heating is working now, but £84 is abit OTT
I cannot begin to tell you how from been give their no by recommendation, how my very first phone call was like a weight lifted off me. At the end of the phone was a Company that cared , that gave good advice, that wanted to help resolve the problem . I have never felt such a instant customer support. They came planned what was to be done. Dave is a absolute star. Removed my old boiler , replaced for a combi boiler and put it upstairs. They covered my carpets, the team work so well together. They are constant non stop, this is deffo the team and Company I will always refer . You won’t be disappointed local, friendly, hard working, trusting just Simply the best

I was recommended 1st Call Gas for our annual gas boiler service, the office staff were a delight on the phone and their engineer prompt and efficient. Thank you for such excellent service, it is great to know that there are honest tradespeople who don't rip you off. They are consummate professionals. The engineer arrived on time and was very respectful, which is very important as a single mum with children to feel safe. He was very knowledgeable about the central heating system & left the area clean and tidy after he had finished. Quickest, most efficient service out there! They found a solution very quickly after our boiler packed in during the very cold spell. Our old boiler stopped working so I phoned 1st Call and Leon came to look at it the very same morning. I decided to get a new boiler and Leon came back to show me brochures and explain all the work that needed to be done. I was very impressed with his upbeat and professional attitude, and was confident that he'd do a good job. A few days later, Leon's team of Jamie and Kyle came to install the new boiler. They were so polite and professional, and tried hard to make as little disturbance as possible even though it was a big job. They finished the job when they'd said they would, cleaned up after themselves, and even did some cosmetic work on the outside wall to cover up the hole the old boiler left. I couldn't have been more pleased with the friendly, professional and considerate service that Leon, Jamie and Kyle provided, and I'd recommend them to anyone.

After being let down by another plumber who had left us without heating or hot water, we spoke to a number of plumbers who all encouraged us to replace the boiler - a cost we weren't really prepared for. Dave from 1st Call turned up and straight away set about investigating the problem - and within hours the boiler we thought was permanently dead was back up and running! With a more junior team member returning to flush the system to prevent any future problems, Dave also attended and didn't just leave them to it, with the team member talking through the process and showing the results. Having had a few disastrous plumbers over the years we're so glad to have landed on someone trustworthy, knowledgeable, clean and tidy, keen to fix problems - not just sell you a new boiler, treats people well and actually is quite affordable. I live in Scotland and 1st Call gave me such a good price to fit gas central heating into my flat, which at the time had electrical heating, I just had to hire them for the job. The took off early morning from Sheffield and spent the day ripping out old radiators and installing new boiler and gas central heating. They worked hard without a break. They were very professional, and tidied up behind them. They even took away the old radiators. I was delighted with the job they done and would recommend them to anyone. Well done Dave and Leon and thank you. I am one very happy customer indeed.
Leon, Dave and all the guys at 1st Call are excellent. They turn up when they say they are going to, return calls if not able to answer straight away and carry out fast, tidy work. Their rates are very reasonable as well. I have had a service contract with them for some time but they recently came to the rescue at very short notice when another plumber let me down. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
I had these lads rip out an old boiler system for me and replace with new combi and flue etc. They advised me on what type of boiler to buy and were very competitive with price. I would highly recommend this team, my boiler was installed 3 year ago and I have not had one issue with it yet.
Been a customer of this firm for over 10 years when at that time the firm consisted of just the two owners, Dave & Leon. Since then the firm has grown in size, however the firm has still retained it's small local firm values, and the firm clearly appreciates the value of being recommended to others based on the service they provide to ALL their customers. I think they have chosen the name of the company very well, I would always call this company "1st" if I had a plumbing or heating problem.

I called 1st call gas due to a problem with my existing boiler (no warm water when heating not on). They came out and investigated the fault. The cynic in me expected they would take a cursory glance at the fault and try the hard sell of a new boiler (this coming from past experience). I was provided with two quotations (both professionally done). One to repair the fault and the other for a replacement. I decided that due to the age of my existing boiler I should replace it. 1st call sourced me a new boiler within days, at a competive price. The fitting was done, no mess left and I was given a full demonstration on how to operate. They also provide an aftercare service should it be needed. I would highly recommend 1st call gas to anyone requiring a professional gas & heating company.
Our old boiler recently gave up hope so we had no hot water, we called this company who came out and was very friendly. They gave us a quote for a brand new boiler and we also asked them to move and fit 3 new radiators. I would definitely recommend this company. A very friendly and professional team! Our central heating install was finished to a very high standard, nothing was an issue and threy was very tidy when it came to cleaning up. Thank you guys for peace of mind will use you again.
