Avoid. After agreeing more than a week in advance to attend at 9:00am, the team arrived at around 3:00pm, then said there was not enough time to do the job and left. Rather than admit they had double booked the team they lied about a misunderstanding regarding the scope (that they had drafted) and said they could come back a few days later but then asked for more money to do the work. In my view they are dishonest, unreliable and unprofessional. I would not recommend.

Wasn’t sure what level of service I’d get but the guys done a great job very polite and cleaned up thoroughly as they went along. Looking forward to next time. Very reasonable prices.

I recently (April 2026) had my garden landscaped by Urban Gardeners and have been so pleased with the results. I had ideas of what i wanted to do but the team helped me bring it to life. The whole team were a great group of professionals who got straight to work and kept me updated throughout. They also made me feel right at ease. We had some issues during but the team always found a solution. I would definitely recommend. They will be back for some final touches to the garden (flowers, bushes etc) and regular maintenance to keep my garden looking great. Thank you Tilko, Bush and team - a job very well done!

Efficient and quick- would highly reccomend

I tried using them for heavy pruning of trees autumn 2025. For what they actually did quality was OK, price was quite high and administration poor.

Do not use this company! Working in construction myself I am a firm believer that when you make mistakes you should own them and try to find a solution everyone is happy with. Urban Gardeners did exactly the opposite and only offered a solution that suited them and their bank account. They took our deposit and on the morning work was due to start let us know they wouldn’t be coming unless we paid them an extra £800 pounds. We asked them about the reason for the uplift in cost to which they replied no explanation could be found. They then refused to answer any of my phone calls and lied about the course of events. This experience has really demonstrated to me the extent to which cowboy companies such as Urban Gardeners have no understanding of manners, customer service, or even common decency. Complete time wasters.

Appalling experience with these guys. It started really well - they visited the site and seemed great, we had comms over email to sign off a quote and paid a 60% deposit upfront. At 10pm the night before they emailed to say they calculated the price wrong and wouldn't be coming. Hugely disappointing to be told with such late notice the work wouldn't be going ahead and no real rectification beyond 'we can send you the more expensive quote if you want'. Our fence has been collapsing for a while and we're now left with the prospect of starting from square 1 with contacting new companies. Couldn't recommend to anyone, incredibly disappointing.

I had a wonderful experience with UrbanGardeners SE London. From the moment I enquired about getting my garden done, to the actual work itself, I have had zero complaints. I had a full garden transformation done, including new fencing, patio, levelling, raised flower beds, and artificial grass. I got four different quotes, and choosing Urban Gardeners was definitely the best decision. From start to finish, the team was professional, hardworking, and extremely efficient. They worked through very difficult weather conditions in February (constant rain) without cutting corners, which really shows their commitment and quality of work. The transformation is incredible – my garden was in a very poor condition after the extension, and now it looks like a completely different space, even better than I expected. My mums garden was extremely overgrown due to her health. It wasn't an easy job however the staff was extremely understanding and helpful and gave us advice we needed. To maintain the garden if I am honest due to cow boy builders leaving rubbish in the garden it wasn't extremely safe but they took there time and managed to get around it safely. We hire a second company for removal of the objects left after. I would 100% recommend Urban gardeners for there work effort and customer service and will be using them in the future.

Once again excellent work from this team of gardeners. Having recently been diagnosed with a significant health condition I am unable to maintain the garden myself currently, so the work done by the team has made my life easier by leaving me one less job to do! Highly recommended

Attempted to arrange a quote for gardening and landscaping work. Sent photos and request, gardening quote provided by email but we wanted the quote as a whole, the landscaping work required site survey to quote. Booked in for a survey 2 weeks ahead, on the day no one shows up, no call or email from the admin team. We call, no answer. Send a follow up email, hear back the next day that they messed up their survey schedule. No problem, mistakes happen. We are offered a new slot the following Sunday, we reply back stating we can't make that time asking for a later time that same day..no response. I email again 5 days later.. no response. I call the next day and leave a voicemail. I receive a generic text email the next day asking for me to send photos and a description of the works wewant doing. I reply stating I have done this already and am at the stage of arranging a survey, no response. I sent a follow up email the next day and have yet to receive a response almost a week later. A giant waste of our time unfortunately.

Usually my Dad takes care of the garden, but because of his recent health issues the garden had become really overgrown. I tried to tackle it myself, but I didn’t have the right tools for the job. I started looking for a company to clear the garden, which is when I discovered Urban Gardeners online and contacted them. Correspondence with Plamena was superb: all emails were answered promptly and professionally. Pricing was clearly explained and I was happy to proceed with a mutually agreed date and time. The two gentlemen that came to the house were polite, considerate to our home, and amongst the hardest working people I’ve ever encountered. The weather was really hot on the day they came, but they still grafted despite the heat. They did an excellent job of clearing our garden, and were done within an hour (initially we thought it would take 3hrs). So even with us also paying for removal of the garden waste, it was still cheaper than we expected. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I’ve already recommended them to several of my colleagues and clients. If in the future I can persuade my Dad to pave or turf the garden this is the company I’ll be calling.

Poor experience unfortunately. We asked to have our garden cleared of mature brambles roots that had recently been cut down and they said they would send out a team with the correct tools to do so. They turned the soil with a rotovator and called me down about halfway into the booked time. When I pointed out that the roots were all still intact they shrugged and said the rotovator wouldn't work. When I asked if they could continue digging the roots out by hand or with some other tools for the duration of the booked time they just packed up and asked for payment. Customer service has been frustrating after the fact, slow to respond and seemingly deliberately obtuse. We didn't suggest the approach or the tools, we just described the work we needed doing and it was not completed. If it was clear when they arrived that the plan was wrong why go ahead and charge rather than reevaluate? Would not recommend

EDIT 2: they have now implied they won't provide a partial refund because I left an honest review. quote: "I believe you have already expressed your position in the reviews you left. Therefore, I do not think it is fair to request a partial refund in this case." absolutely shady behaviour, avoid like the plague. EDIT 1: the response from the gardening company below does not reflect the reality of the situation. they "sent 14 emails" sure, but that tells you nothing - they've been taking a fortnight at a time to reply to me and have not responded at all to my request for a partial refund. they actually replied to this google review rather than respond to my email. they "offered alternative treatments" - they did indeed say they'd charge us an extra grand for a different service, while not acknowledging that they charged us and didn't provide the original service promised. ORIGINAL REVIEW: really sad to say we received terrible service - avoid at ALL COSTS. we made it very clear that the garden had recently had huge six feet high brambles that had been cut to the ground and was large (described this AND sent multiple wide angle lens pictures that clearly showed the space) and requested that the bramble roots all be dug up and permanently removed. Urban Gardeners said, direct quote, "We will send you a team of two professional gardeners with all the proper tools and equipment to remove the bramble roots for you", and we made a 5 hour booking as they had recommended. gardeners showed up, did 3 hours with a rotovator which hardly seemed to do anything except turn the soil over, then refused to continue as their equipment wasn't correct for large bramble roots and demanded payment anyway. they must have known from the very beginning that they wouldn't be able to do the job with the tools they had, and yet they stayed and charged us for hours of work anyway. sent a photo claiming to be proof that they'd done the work, all it showed was that the small amount of bramble regrowth above ground had been strimmed and earth on top turned over, obviously the roots weren't visible as they're underground. our garden is still absolutely full of brambles and Urban Gardeners have been using every excuse in the book about why (including that they had no idea the brambles had been mature or how big the garden was despite all that info being provided, that they “ran out of time” 3 hours into a 5 hour booking, that they actually can’t guarantee bramble root removal at all despite agreeing to do this service and charging us for it - you actually can't make this stuff up, it's ridiculous). they then took weeks to get back to me every time I emailed and said that to do the job we'd originally hired them for, they'd be charging us an additional grand minimum. total incompetence and they're now refusing to reply to my request for a partial refund despite the fact that they did not deliver the service we hired them for at all and it seems they're not actually capable of it. brambles have started regrowing and it's clear they did not do the job at all. abysmal behaviour - they might be all right if you just need your lawn done, but they clearly aren't up to bigger jobs and if they fail to deliver on the service, their customer service is horrific as it seems to be just one person making it up as they go along.

The job they done was good, I was happy with the results and how fast they got they got done however they were half hour late with no contact, they called a wrong number, when I tried calling the team there was no answer and after calling again the phone was being hung up on me. The guys that turned up tried to over charge me. when I was paying the guy was stood on my door step smoking a cigarette having the smell come into my house I wasn’t too pleased with this he should have waited till he had left so I’m happy with the job that was done but the professionalism has let it down unfortunately.

What a brilliant team Urban Gardeners are! From booking the service, to completing the job, they are complete professionals. The gardeners arrived early and were super efficient in clearing my garden. And the added bonus is they charge a great price. I mentioned to them I will be looking into landscaping at some point in the not too distant future and would not look anywhere else for this. I have also recommended them to my sister. A huge thank you to the Urban Gardeners team for transforming our garden here in Peckham, SE London. The garden was previously in very bad shape (rotten decking, steps, and dying / weed-ridden lawn. The team did an amazing job of clearing everything out (including removal of a tree!) and then building an entirely new and extended hard-wood deck and stairs / landing and also replacing the lawn with the beautiful stripes you can see! Communication throughout from Plamena was great and with the team on the ground they were very good at asking questions and making small adjustments as required throughout the process. I requested a few small changes to the initial quote and this was dealt with in a very friendly and flexible way. The team were very pleasant throughout, got rid of all the mess, and also did the whole thing for a very fair and reasonable price. Recently, we needed quite a few tiles installed in our garden. The team worked tirelessly for days. I liked that they did not try to rush the job but rather wanted to make the garden look great. They also cleaned very well after themselves and were very considerate about our house. This is not common with most companies. I think the price was also reasonable for the amount of effort they put and the high quality of work they delivered.

Did not complete job. They said they were finished and asked us to pay so they could leave. We asked them to finish the job and that we would pay once it was complete. They then threatened to start dumpling rubbish outside the front of our house unless we paid the full amount immediately. I’m sure they will respond saying they did everything outlined, as that was their response before, however their email clearly stated they would clear the garden rubbish, and they did not.

Awful experience be very careful!!! Paid for a garden clearance that was almost finished. The last few bits wouldn’t fit in the van, even though we paid for a skip (which never arrived) when we said we’ll pay when the job was finished, they threatened to dump the rubbish back into the garden! We are so happy with the work Urban Gardeners have done on our garden. They have completely transformed our outdoor space - turning a yard covered in concrete into a toddler's paradise with grass, decking, raised beds, a sandpit and fencing. They were a pleasure to deal with at every step and offered a very competitive quote. They all worked so hard and have created a garden that we will love to spend time in as a family. We can't recommend them enough.

I had a rotten old deck and an overgrown garden, and the final straw was when Storm Eunice blew down both of my garden fences. I contacted Urban Gardeners and they gave me a quote for fixing it all which I thought was fair. I did have to wait a while for them to start but given how busy local trades are, that wasn't a big deal and they started exactly when they said they would. The new fences are solid and will not be coming down any time soon! Everyone was a pleasure to work with, and I am very happy with the results. A lovely group of guys who did a great job getting my garden back to a state where I can work on it again.

I needed decking for my garden, and it was quite big project. However, the professionals from Urban Gardeners came in, checked everything in a viewing (measurements, etc), booked me in, and for a week my garden was completely champagne in a positive way! We've used these guys three times now, which probably says it all! They are so friendly and nice and have done a fantastic job. We had them clear and returf and plant lavender in our front garden. Then they cleared our back garden and laid a patio. This was quite complex as the garden is on a slope but they made sure there was drainage etc. Thank you for the great work.

Urban gardeners were great. They have transformed by back garden, removing entirely what we had previously and installing new raised beds and laying a stone floor and installing lighting. They did a great job and it looks amazing now.

Those guys are incredible! I am very pleased with what I had as a service. I had quite big project for my garden as I just bought a house, and the garden was in an awful shape. The owner came to view and made me offer very competitive to the others I got, and at the first I thought they might not do it quality but I was wrong! I had my leveling perfectly done, removed the trees I did not want, changed my fence and made the bbq area according to the exact project I had. Very very pleased with the work done, strongly recommended!!!

Urban Gardeners came round to do my Gardening on the 31st July 2019 during the afternoon, when they came round they came earlier than I expected, but I didn’t mind this because I was expecting them and funny enough I was hoping for them to do my gardening a bit earlier than the expected time and it did happen, because my rear and front garden especially my rear (back) garden needed a lot of attention because my rear garden was neglected for a long time and it was now looking like a forest and if I leave it any longer, I wouldn’t be able to open the kitchen windows and the back door because that how over grown my grass was in my garden. Before Urban Gardeners stepped in and did my gardening, I have to admit didn’t get any good customer service from number of different gardeners that I contacted beforehand and because most of them wasn’t reliable in terms of getting back to me in a quote for my gardening in written and if they was some who responded they say they can do my gardening for such and such price that I agreed with or they will say I have to give me a quote on the site visit regardless that I sent my photos of my gardening by email. But yet still apart from that they never turned up to offer me these services like they said before unlike urban gardeners who actually was the opposite towards these waste of space gardeners, because U.G offered me excellent customer service by email especially on two occasions and they told me what the quote is for my gardening which was superb, which no customer in there right mind couldn’t refuse and they actually turned up like they did and they actually did a very good job that I could not fault them at all. Now I have a splendid reasonably clean cut and very tidy garden front and back garden for the fraction of the price which was so good bargain for money comparing to what other reliable gardeners would of charged me for the state of my back garden and the green waste clearance. They are a very good gardening company to do business with even my next-door neighbour had to even come of his home after I not long paid Urban Gardeners for their time and service after they had finished their job and left, he couldn’t believe how efficient Urban Gardeners worked and the miracle they did to my front and back garden. My neighbour couldn’t believe it now if my rear (back garden is the same garden) so many hours ago looking like a jungle to being transformed from that to now a very clean, tidy and fantastic looking garden that we both can’t help looking at and admire. It really looks like a garden again and how a garden should look like let alone I did get it for a fantastic price that worth every penny of that money. My neighbour even said that him and his wife paid £700 more to do there gardening comparing to what I paid for my gardening, which they did there gardening some weeks before mine even though there gardening wasn’t even has bad as mine before my gardening started. So people despite the delays and setback with my gardening especially based on bad customer service and unreliability from many other gardeners, something good came out from my disappointment with my gardening because I win again as a satisfied customer looking for a reliable professional gardener, who do good value for money for my gardening and I received just that and this is all due to Urban Gardeners. I do recommend them if you want your front and back Garden to be transformed from any condition to a good satisfactory garden that suits your taste and needs for a bargain offer. Please get in touch with them if you need a new garden within a few hours and they are only email or phone call away especially if you live in Greenwich Borough were I am from, in my opinion if you do get hold of them you won’t regret using there service that’s one thing for sure and don’t be surprised too if you become one of their loyal customers. Fantastic service. Punctual, efficient, friendly - very highly recommended! We had the back garden totally transformed in 4 hours - bamboo removed, lawn mowed, ivy cut back. Excellent.

Very happy with the entire service start to finish. The booking process is very quick and easy. On the day the guys turned up on time and worked incredibly quick! The entire back and front garden needed a complete clear out which I thought would take days but after 8 hours everything looked amazing and everything was clear. Will be glad to welcome them back for the maintenance.

I would like to rate them higher but unfortunately cannot as they lied about removing the tree stump I wanted removed from my back garden. They sawed it down and covered it with soil to make it seem like it was gone. Only when it rained that I saw that it actually had not been removed just sawed down. If they had just been honest that they were unable to remove it because perhaps the roots were too deep I would have been fine with that. Very saddened and disappointed by this as I was pleased with the service thought they had provided and even overpaid them to show my gratitude and thought I had finally found a good local garden service that I would use again. This was in spite of them causing damage to my wall when they brought a large tree branch - uncut - through my house - which scratched my wall. As they were apologetic and made efforts to resolve that issue I let that go and still overpaid them for the job. In future will not be so kind as feel like I have been taken advantage of which is upsetting.
