Mike did an EICR for us on very short notice during the process of buying a property. He kept us up to date while booking it in, communicated with our estate agent and sellers, and quickly had it scheduled in for Monday morning following initial contact on Thursday afternoon. The report, which was very detailed and informative, was sent to us the same day as the checks took place and Mike provided us with quotes for improvement works within an hour of requesting them. We gave this electrician (Mike) the time to quote us for a job, a few electrical jobs actually, who then went away saying he would get in touch with a price. He then totally ignored us, which is not what you expect from a local trader. He also went on to hide our comments on Facebook, and his own page to censor genuine feedback on his unprofessional actions. A total timewaster, so if you are looking for an electrican who will get back to you, and values potential customers and their time, I would look elsewhere based on our own experiences with him. Not recommended. PS: Strange how after we posted our genuine review 1 day ago, 2 more first time 'reviewers' appear inside 24 hours, when the last review written was over 6 months ago. Mike recently completed a full re-wire on our house and we are delighted with the results. From our first email, to saying goodbye he was polite, contentious and hard working. Mike originally undertook an electricity report for us which raised a few issues, including how we had numerous 'dead' plugs and how our electrics were at least 35/40 years old. We then decided to upgrade the whole system by undertaking a re-wire (inc. patch plastering) and installing outdoor lights plus two smoke detectors. He explained everything in enough detail to ensure we understood the process and no silly questions were too silly! He responded quickly to all our enquiries and kept us updated throughout the work. We will certainly look to hire Mike again to help us when we undertake any further electricity work. Thank you!

Mike performed a complicated rewiring of my old central heating system. Following the installation of a new boiler, the electrical configuration required rewiring to enable the generation of heat for the room radiators and hot water cylinder, both independently and together. Mike was excellent at communicating the electrical requirements with myself and the boiler engineer (Simon, Sygas Ltd). Now in my mid-seventies, it is a relief not to be facing another winter without heating. Mike is a very professional and experienced electrician and I thoroughly recommend him.

Mike's done two jobs for me. He first installed new sockets throughout my house and completed an EICR check. He then returned to fix the issues the EICR revealed. We were really pleased with the job Mike (Amara Electrical Contractors) did for us. It was for a full house re-wire as well as smoke and intruder alarm installations. Mike communicated well with us in the run up to and during the work as necessary. It turned out to be a bigger job than expected but he worked really hard to ensure that it was done in the time frame he had originally given - which was great for us. The work was very neat, alot better than we were expecting for a rewire and he made a real effort to leave the house as clean as he could which was really appreciated. It's clear he is very skilled and takes pride in his work.
