We had 17*panels installed + 2*storage batteries It does take some understanding and change of habits to understand your home energy usage to get the full benefits from standard electric grid provision. You can check on the app when the batteries are full, how much solar energy is coming in, how much the house is using, and how much your exporting to the grid. A house visit from Warm Works is also advisable so that your storage heaters can be upgraded and topped up with energy during daytime, so that they can release that energy whenever it's required. The same can be said with a Hot Water tank upgrade. Switching to energy suppliers (Octopus) that can pay you back for the energy going back into the grid is also a little win. If you have a smart meter it's a great feeling going days on end seeing that it's not costing you any energy, even when big usage like a washing machine or electric vehicle charge has been done at the right times.
