SM Electrical Services (Scotland) Ltd

I have to say that Kat and the team were excellent. Despite a few mis-communications, that were resolved. The install was fast and efficient, and after 3 months, no problems. I would reccommend.

Great installation of Solar panels inverter and battery.

The SME staff arrived on time, set about my installation professionally and competantly Before I knew it the job was complete. They showed me the app, the functions and were terrific. Many thanks! Great job.

The company was back and forth with me several times as not a strait forward installation. I was retro fitting battery to an original solar system with FIT. The solution was agreed and equipment fitted by a well presented and knowledgeable on site team. Calls from the office to keep me updated as I had a few visits. Small deposit requested allowing the job to progress with no other money requested until full installation was completed to my liking.

Great job installing a new solar battery and inverter.

Very pleased with my recent solar and battery installation. The whole team, from quote to installation were easy to talk to. The installation team were really good clean workers and did an excellent job routing cables out of sight. I would highly recommend.

An absolutely five star experience using SM Electrical for our battery storage.

Professional from start to finish. 1sr class service from everyone involved. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

Had a Solar install on our business property boys done a great job and really tidy job the company was really helpful from start to finish we had a date timeline the install had to be finished for and they said they could and they did totally recommend SM Electrical.

The installation was seamless from original phone call, to discussion on what we wanted. The tradesmen who came were excellent from start to finish. They arrived at the time agreed, nicely turned out, extremely tidy, and left the area tidy not a single bit of rubbish left. They discussed everything with us, showed us how to use the app. This company was excellent from beginning to end, and also a great price. A proper electrical engineer company, not a fly by night solar company promising you a fabulous discount. SM Electrical are a good honest company, I would recommend to anyone. Thanks SM Electrical.

Good clean installation of battery storage and e.v. charging. Prompt service demystifing the App controlling the system.

Installation of a 10kw Battery and Inverter. 5 Stars from start to finish. Stuart kept in touch with us throughout a few issues caused delay, mainly by Scottish Power Grid services as we needed to be un-looped from our neighbour before we could get the work completed. We got an install date from SM very quickly after SP completed the unlooping. The team arrived when they said they would, completed the work on time and cleaned up and were very polite and friendly. A very professional and friendly service from a highly skilled team which is very hard to come by these days. I can't recommend them highly enough. We were super happy with the install and the after care support. A job very well done and will definitely be using again. Thanks to Stuart and his team.

We moved home and had SM Electrical Services Ltd install our solar system, we had installed a similar system at our old property with another installer and it was a nightmare so was very apprehensive. We were so pleasantly surprised with SM Electrical from the very first phone call everyone was very professional and nothing seemed a problem, we spoke to them a number of times and any queries where answered straight away or we had a phone call back usually the same day. Installation day we had two of the nicest guys who were so clued up and completed work with no hassle. We had three storage batteries along with 16 solar panels, car charger and soffit lights installed. They sorted the MCS quickly and the export tariff was done with Octopus by ourselves. In summary a company we would recommend 100% with old fashioned customer service with all staff giving a great experience, thanks to Stuart and the team.

SM Electrical Services have just completed the install of solar panels and batteries at our home. From the very beginning, the service and communication has been excellent. Everything was planned and explained along with all the paperwork involved and what was required for the install. The installation was done exactly when agreed and the team did a fantastic job. A very neat and organised install and all done in the time allocated including some extra electrical work we requested. The system was up and running when complete and it looks great, which was a major concern for us! I would highly recommend for any solar installation and electrical work.

Good work despite some unforeseen difficulties. The only company that answered our questions about a battery set-up that would supply our house in the event of a grid failure. If they didn’t know the answer then they went and found out. I would use them again.

I highly recommend SM Electrical Services Ltd. I dealt with Stuart to install solar panels and a battery in September 2025 following getting three quotes and doing loads of research for the best panels and battery. He visited on site to discuss the requirement and I received a very competitive quote and an answer to all my questions. Everyone involved in the install were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. My solar panels are generating well and the app is showing me that I am 100% self sufficient and have received my first quarterly payment from my export tariff. Next is underfloor heating and I will be calling Stuart.

We had thought about solar panels for some time and eventually decided on SM Electrical Services Ltd and we are delighted with the result. The product is excellent and the service received from Stuart first class. We have 24 solar panels with battery storage and the whole system was installed in one day by an efficient, friendly team. Would highly recommend this company.

We have been working with SM electrical as a supplier now for a few months. The team are an absolute joy to work with, organised, sharp, true subject matter experts and fantastic at paying on time. Would highly recommend them

Great team and neat installation with the extra assurance and confidence it has given me that I used a competent Electrical Company to do the work.

I worked with Stuart from SW Electrical for my solar installation, and I honestly couldn’t be happier. They came out to do a proper, professional survey, and after getting quotes from three different companies, SW Electrical were the ones that made me feel I was in safe hands. They calculated exactly what my home would need, installed 18 panels, one inverter, and two 5kW batteries, and kept me updated every step of the way. Friendly, reliable, and genuinely professional from start to finish. The team left the place clean and tidy, and the whole experience was smooth from the first visit to the final handover. Highly recommend them — excellent service all round.

Great service and real value for money install of 10 panels and 15kWh batteries and EV Charger. Thanks to all the team at SM Electrical and Gary from Eco Flow. I’m nearly off grid.

After much searching and bad experience with salesmen from national companies, I eventually decided to appoint a company who had en electrical background. Spoke with Stuart Hope and explained what I wanted he patiently took me through solar systems And provided a comprehensive quotation. After further discussions I appointed them to carry out the work. This was done as agreed to a very tidy and high standard. Is the system performing as promised? Yes absolutely in fact it has so far exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for solar give them a try! I was glad I chose them!!

1st class pofessional service from SM Electrical with very good costs (and I always shop about!). Highly recommend Steven and the team for any works you might have as they provide excellent communication around the work, all left tidy, with flexibility to suit. Will definitely use again!

I highly recommend SM Electrical Services for the installation of an electric vehicle charger. They are an experienced, skilled team providing a highly professional service. The installer took time to discuss the site work, recommended a discrete route for cabling and ensured the system functioned to our satisfaction.

Highly recommend, professional, fair prices and value for money. Met all expectations and more.

Friendly ,reliable & excellent skills

Steven and his team were fantastic from start to finish. They rewired my house for me at a competitive price and to a really high standard. Thanks guys!

SM Electrical Services Ltd - Tidy workmanship when installing new lights and smoke alarms. This work was all done on time as promised and to a high standard. I would recommend this company to others due to reliability and friendly service.

SM Electrical installed an electric car charger onto our house. Not knowing much about EV chargers, SM Electrical took the time to advise on a suitable charger and explained the best installation method from the fusebox with minimum cost implications. The install was neat and tidy with the finishes looking great! I would recommend the team for anyone looking to install an EV charger.

Really helpful, and very quick to sort a problem with my kitchen lights. Would use again.
