JL Electrical Solutions replaced consumer units and did other electrical work for several customers, with reviewers often describing John and his colleague Brad (also called Brendan or Brandon in some reviews) as polite and tidy. John and Brad did a fantastic job for us. They replaced the consumer unit, installed some led lighting, an outside security light and changed the porch light. All on time and very efficiently. They checked all our plugs and lights and will issue an EIC Certificate. They were friendly and easy to contact and kept us informed of when they would be able to do the jobs. Wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future
New wiring hired JL ELECTRICAL SOLITIONS FROM MY BUILDER I tried to be patient with Mr. John, understanding that he had health issues and other appointments. However, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering hiring him should always confirm his schedule in advance. He often arrived earlier than agreed and only worked for a short time. For example, he committed to arriving at 1 PM but came early and left shortly after — this is not my fault. I always paid him on time, yet he frequently made excuses. Based on my experience, I do not recommend his services. Please review the attached screenshots for more context before committing to any work with him. I am very disappointed with the service STAY AWAY FROM JOHN HES TOO OLD TO WORK
John and his apprentice Brad attended my rented property to replace the consumer unit in an older house. The job was done quickly, professionally, and to a very high standard. When a small issue came up later — not due to their workmanship but because of the age of the existing installation — John returned promptly and resolved it without hesitation. Both John and Brad were polite, tidy, and great to deal with. John’s experience really shows, and I’ll definitely be keeping his number for any future electrical work. Highly recommended!
⚠ BEWARE – TOTAL SCAM BY JOHN ⚠ I strongly do not recommend JL Electrical Solutions. We agreed on a fair price for the job, but John only showed up for three days, arriving early at 7 AM when no one was around, working just 2–3 hours a day. He incorrectly installed wiring and received £2000 for the first fix, but then started making constant excuses—claiming he had hospital appointments, while his young colleague Brendan needed to attend college. Do not pay him upfront. Make sure the work is completed before handing over any money. I am currently seeking legal advice and hope appropriate action is taken. He often just sits around while Brendan does all the work. His health condition may be serious, but that should not be used to mislead or scam customers. Stay cautious. Don’t fall into the same trap.
Simply perfect from start to finish John and Brandon priced the job came early on the day of the installation . It was a very difficult fit and they carried on until everything was completed and tidied up after themselves. A very fair price for a lot of hard work . Very impressive duo who I have no concerns about recommending. In fact I’ll be contacting them to come and sort a few other electrical jobs I have .
Professional Consumer Unit Upgrade! JL Electrical Solutions recently replaced our old consumer unit, and we couldn’t be happier with the service. The work was done efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. They took the time to explain everything clearly and ensured all testing was completed properly. John arrived on time to complete the electrical certificate and was incredibly polite and professional throughout. His pricing was very reasonable, and the whole process was smooth and hassle-free. I would not recommend this company JL Electrical solutions we agreed a price for the work which was a good price but unfortunately he doesn't turn up or when he did there was all ways a problem,we agreed that the would come on Friday but said he was ill arranged for Saturday but no show i got a text saying that he was still ill arranged again for today another text this morning saying that he was still ill and will that I cancelled the work with him,he has now put us back by two weeks on a big project.
Very affordable n very quickly repaired
This review is based on unreliability of your service and lack of communication. Although incredibly polite and professional in our initial meeting we were then let down on numerous occasions often without warning which resulted in time taken off work and being without the use of our kitchen for a significant period of time.
He turned up on the day &: time he said he would both John and his brother were polite and professional completed the jobs, cleaned up after them selves I would recommend to my family & friends
We agreed a price and arranged for the work to take place at 8am on Saturday 27th February. I didnt hear anything and on the day John didnt show up. I called him to find out where he was. We couldnt catch each other but after hearing my message he called back and left a voicemail saying he had been sick all week and had lost my number. As strange as this was as we had spoken on the same number a few days earlier I offered him to come back the following Saturday (today) at 9am to do the work. I was waiting for him to arrive from 8:30 at about 8:50 I was going outside and saw that there was a card from JL electricals through my door. I called him back at 8:55 to see where he was but no answer, I left a message and no response. I sent a text later in the day to see what the issue is and no response. I guess perhaps he turned up too early? We agreed 9 via text so he could easily see his mistake. He could have called to say he was early and I would have let him in. I suspect he just couldnt be bothered to do the work. Probably didnt even knock and hoped I wouldnt see the card until after 9 so he could say I didnt answer. I cant comment on the quality of his work but I can say he is unreliable. I left this comment on mybuilder (which was the site that I used to hire him). He replied to my message with a comment about me asking him to do extra work for the same price. The comment had no basis in reality and was completely dishonest on his part.
