I had first class service from Alpine who replaced a failed central heating thermostat for me. Although only a small job for them (their minimum charge covered it) Tim the electrician gave me excellent advice when I phoned, obtained the part quickly, fitted it promptly and was a pleasure to have working in my home. Sadly, I didn't get the positive experience that others have. We were let down by this company. Back in early June I asked for a quote, we needed some switches and light fittings replaced around our home. We also wanted some new sockets added in a couple of rooms and a fault rectified on our landing light. Tim was quick to respond and visited and quoted for the work. Luckily, he was able to start fairly promptly and the work on the sockets and lights was completed. Unfortunately, the fault on the landing light couldn't be traced and it was agreed that a return visit would be needed. As there was also more work to be done in our living room prior to refurbishment, we said that any time between then and the start of August would suffice but if the landing light could be fixed sooner, it would be very much appreciated. The general impression was that he/they would return to complete the work. The invoice for the original work arrived and we paid it promptly. Despite repeated emails over the subsequent weeks (turning into months) asking when the landing light could be fixed, we got no reponse at all, this I find discourteous and unprofessional. The emails were all tracked and so I know that they were received and opened. Early in July I eventually got a response to one of my emails where I stated that the work was now urgent as we had other tradespeople coming in to carry out other work and the sockets needed to be completed prior to that work. I got a brief response saying that Tim was "...away until August 6th but can get you booked in for a visit when I get back" I confirmed that I'd like this to happen as it was holding up redecorating, flooring and other work. Tim never got back to us, even after two phone calls, repeating the urgency and asking him again to get back to us. I'm not naive enough to think that anyone sits around just waiting for work to arrive. Tim may be very successful and very busy. However, if he was unable, unwilling or just didn't want to return to finish the work, he could have just told us. Instead we wasted weeks waiting for a call that never came. From June to the end of August is quite a long time to wait, there was every chance to let us know that Tim wouldn't be returning but we heard nothing. Luckily, we found a very capable, very accomodating local electrician to complete the work quickly and reliably.
Friendly, super responsive and professional. Carried out a few jobs for us and all were done to a high standard. Would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely use them again.
not sure why only 3 previous reviews as Alpine has been trading many years. However I just wanted to add my review as the work carried out by Tim when fitting my replacement garden lamp post was beyond my expectation as there was a lot more to do than just electrical work. Extremely professional in my dealings with him prior and during the work he carried out entirely to my satisfaction.

We have used Alpine Electrical before, they do great work, this time it was part of a kitchen installation, all done to a good standard. Tim and his boys are reliable and good so they are always busy. We will use them again for any electrical work we need
