Ariva Renewables Ltd is described across several reviews as a skilled and hard-working team that takes on complex renewable and building projects, including heat pumps, solar panels, battery storage, MVHR and insulation. One reviewer said the team's knowledge and experience helped make a complicated install smooth, and another praised the team as supportive and professional. Reviewers mention the work can take longer or cost more than expected: one said their job ran over, another said the solution was more costly than first thought, and one described disruption during fitting. One reviewer had a poor experience, saying the team arrived without a clear plan, that the garden was left a mess and the company refused to return to fix it. Praised points include tailored solutions, managing the grant process and good workmanship from individual tradespeople.

Our project included an Air Source Heat Pump, Solar Panels, battery storage and car charger. Some installation constraints made it a fairly complex project in terms of location of the equipment etc Ariva's knowledge and experience really helped make the install as smooth and painless as possible. The team work very hard and no request is too much trouble. If you want your project to be done properly - call Ariva.

My overall perception of Ariva is that in this location I think they are unique in having everything “under one roof”. They are experts with solar panels and battery storage, heat pumps, insulation, ventilation and heat recovery, plumbing and electrical work and general building work. They know their stuff across all these areas and put a lot of effort in to ensuring that the solutions they propose are tailored to your house. They take great pride in delivering a solution that has a massive benefit both to the comfort of living in a house and the costs of heating (and increasingly now cooling) a house. This can lead to a solution that is more costly than originally anticipated. However, it is a very significant improvement to how the house feels and will be substantially cheaper to run. When do you get a return on investment? That is a difficult question to answer as it is if we do any house improvement such as double glazing, new kitchen/bathroom/conservatory, extension. A first meeting with Ariva can be overwhelming! Persist and keep asking questions so that you can understand. I have found it quite difficult to get my head round some of the information and the explanations for integrating the various parts of the system; the MVHR, heat pump, our heating which is partly via underfloor heating and partly from a heating or cooling from a coil as part of the MVHR. What did Ariva do on our project? They converted an old stable block into a very energy efficient house. The numbers speak for themselves. Over a 12-month period we used 6.4MWh and generated 11.2MWh from solar/PV. >95% of the imported energy was cheap rate electricity bought overnight and used to charge the car and/or the house batteries the latter which is then used to run everything in the house during the day. Excess power is exported leading to a utility bill in credit to a sum of ~£1000pa. There is no gas, open fire/stove, oil or petrol/diesel for the car. I say this only to point out that it can be very cheap to be disconnected from the market price of fossil fuels. The house is very pleasant to live in. In the winter constantly at 17-22C depending on room and time of day, humidity between 40-60% unless it gets very dry which is unusual. Thus, no problems with damp. And in the summer the heat pump is able to cool to give an internal temperature ~6C below that outside. As I write this the measured temperature outside is 37C, but supply air 26C. Not as good as full-blown air conditioning when very hot but definitely adequate and much cheaper. Our only real issue is a room with a very large east facing window that in the summer gets a lot of solar gain in the morning making it uncomfortably hot. We probably need something external to the house to stop this occurring on the hottest days. The team from Ariva were great and very skilled at their individual tasks. The job did take longer than originally anticipated but our project was very complicated as facilities were needed to connect to the grid, source water, get rid of waste water, drainage and underpinning all in addition to a big building project on top of the renewables.

Initially Ariva installed a Heat Source Water Heating Cylinder which went very well, Following on from that project they then fitted a Vertical Axis Wing Turbine and Battery System At all times the team of Rick, Jonathan, Tom and Justin were fully supportive and professional and highly recommended.

Ariva Renewables have helped us dramatically upgrade the energy efficiency of our 1850s semi-detached house. This started off with an initial thorough analysis of the fabric and airtightness of our house – we have solid walls so the existing airtightness was surprisingly good. Based upon Ariva’s recommendations we installed additional wall insulation as well as insulating the attic and solid floors on the ground floor. Ariva installed an MVHR system providing clean fresh air around the house. We live on a busy road so this has really changed our house for the better as we get fresh air without the noise as we can keep our windows closed. The filter on this unit really needs its regular cleaning and it dramatically shows the particulate air pollution that could otherwise have been breathed in. Having the system installed was fairly disruptive but for us it was definitely worth doing. We already had solar panels and Ariva installed a couple of batteries as part of this system. These are important for us as they not only store electricity from the panels but also enable us to store cheap electricity off peak which is particularly important in the winter. In terms of hot water and heating Ariva have installed a modern Air Source Heat Pump that can run at high temperatures so we have not needed to increase the size of our pipes or radiators. This has kept costs and disruption to a minimum. Ariva managed the whole grant process from start to finished – they happily did this with very little input from us. Our ASHP performs well in even our coldest weather and we now have a warm energy efficient house that is comfortable to live in. We no longer have a gas supply and all our energy is electric. As to be expected we use a fair amount of energy in the coldest weather but very little in the warmer months. Overall, we have had a very good experience using Ariva and would definitely recommend their renewables work. As with any complex project things didn’t always go to plan but we found that when this happened with Ariva they put the time and effort into getting our systems to work properly.
