Ohme Operations UK Limited is praised by many reviewers for helpful staff, particularly Archie, and for quick, neatly completed installations. Several reviewers report a smooth ordering and survey process, often with installation dates moved forward to suit a new car. Others describe a very different experience: repeated calls and emails going unanswered, long phone waits and slow chat or app support. Some report faulty chargers, missed installation dates, extra charges they dispute and difficulty getting a repair or replacement. One reviewer also criticised the untethered ePod design because the cable can be pulled out and stolen.
Ohme ePod customer - leaving a poor review for their poor design and lack of security. As the ePod is an untethered unit with no cable locking mechanism, anyone can just yank the cable straight out the ePod and walk off with it. For a long time I didn't think this was too much of a problem - if I meticulously took the cable inside whenever it wasn't charging - the cable would still be locked to the car during charging. Unfortunately, the cable becomes unlocked from the car whenever charging is interrupted, like when someone, say a thief, decides to yank the cable out of the ePod. Now I'm down a £150 cable, there's nothing I can do about it, and nothing I can do to stop it happening again except buy an expensive security solution or a different charger that isn't deficient in the same way.
Excellent service easy to use
Great service from start to finish. Easy to use online system to tell them about your house, where the electric meter is and most importantly, where you want the charger to go. Archie from Ohme sorted everything and kept me informed at every stage with text messages and emails. The installer Chris was great too, he texted me the day before the install and called me confirm a time on the day. The charger was installed quickly and neatly. Many thanks for a very positive experience.
YEEEE-HAAAAW , The cowboys are here! If I was able to give nehative stars I would. Terrible company Terrible customer service I had a date for my install, it got to 1800, no comms or infor from ohme. Apparently it takes me chasing them to get any info off of them and all I have been told is "we are waiting to give you a new date" My advice DO NOT BY AN EV STICK WITH PETROL! Edit: great news! Finally got one installed. And then the stream of problems started flying in. From staff as useful as a punch to the groin to an app that was developed by a potato and to top it off...a charger tjat doesnt connect or charge. 🤣 if you can avoid at all costs I beg you!
Used the chat function to resolve an issue and it connected me with Joe who was very helpful. Responses were a little slow but excellent when they arrived and he went the extra mile in contacting a 3rd party organisation whose oversight had caused the issue.
Great assistance from Archie and Gift to get the charger advised on and ordered quickly. Hoping that the installation goes as well as the ordering process.
Thanks to help from Archie at Ohme, my installation will be done less than a week from completing the survey.
Very helpful and was able to make the process quick and simple
Ended up as a customer of Ohme as a result of a promotion Audi were running on new PHEVs - wish I’d just taken the cash equivalent and gone elsewhere! Filled in all the forms and provided self survey of house and was told I was a standard installation. Installer came out and said I wasn’t even though all the things he saw were clearly laid out in my self survey. Waited for quote for enhanced installation, but when it came back there were no real details of what was being charged for and it was clearly for something different to what the surveyor and I had discussed. Queried with Ohme who eventually said I’d need a second survey as they couldn’t explain what they’d quoted for. Second survey came, we discussed what would be done, and when quote came through it was for something totally different. The price was effectively for over 30m of cabling when the actual distance I measured was only 18m. Queried again with Ohme who eventually said I’d need another survey. Third survey done and discussed in detail what would be done. We’ve now gone back to something much simpler even though it’ll be far messier for my house. Quote comes through saying I need to pay for extra trunking (plus a hefty extra charge for the complexity of route), but I’d explicitly agreed with the surveyor that what was being planned would not need extra trunking. Queried with Ohme who said they’d checked with the subcontractor they use and the quote was right. Asked Ohme to ring me to discuss but no-one has got back to me. To cut a long story short I’m stuck with a supplier who rely on third parties to deliver, who can never explain the detail of what they’re quoting on, and take no responsibility for the service they are providing. I’m 4 months and 3 surveys on without even having an installation date, and I’m over a barrel to pay seemingly randomly made up extra charges if I ever want to get the unit that Audi have covered the cost for. Wish I’d just taken the £500 they’d have given me to choose my own supplier as that way I could have worked with someone who had accountability….
Great sorted my problem straight away thank you Joe.
No showed on install day. All AI garbage interface with no one to actually speak to.
Archie was very polite in communication, quick turnaround of the survey review which was very helpful as our vehicle was being delivered soon
Archie explained how to complete the survey And made the decision easy to complete
Archie was incredibly efficient on passing my details through to installation because of car arrival
Archie has done a great job today organising my installation and keeping me informed. Many thanks.
Update: Removed 4 stars since Renault changed their authentication system by introducing 2FA in June 2026. 4 months later the Ohme app still can't read the battery level of my Renault. In the past, it was better: Their support diagnosed a faulty installation from photos I sent them which was the reason for slow charging.
I’ve had a positive experience dealing with Archie for my EV charger . She has been helpful, approachable and willing to discuss pricing and payment options. I appreciate his flexibility and efforts to work towards a deal that suits both sides. Overall, a good experience so far, and I look forward to completing the installation.
Took a long time to get through in the phone but spoke to Archie who was very helpful and sorted things out quickly
Good communication and Archie expedited the installation to be as soon after we received the car as possible
Excellent, very speedy service
best in the business!
Archie was really helpful in getting my appointment booked in to get my charger fitted.
Archie had been great in quickly arranging installation of charger for me within a week.
The process is smooth and instructions simple to follow. Archie was great in expediting the install quickly.
Amazingly professional and quick to come back with any further info needed than a fitting date. Archie was great at keeping me updated and setting a quick installation date *****
Archie at Ohme dealt with our application quickly and efficiently. He managed to bring the installation date forwards so that it would be ready in time for our new car delivery date.
Archie was very helpful arranging the charger installation. Thanks, Archie!
Archie was friendly, responded quickly to my emails and scheduled my preferred installation date immediately.
Great service. Archie was excellent.
Great coms and an installation date already set!
Archie provided a very quick and efficient booking service for my OHME installation.
Archie has been very helpful liaising with myself and their instillation partners for a quick fitting to ensure I am set up before the car arrives
Superb service! Completed survey and within hours Archie had fast tracked our install! Thank you so much
Ohme have been very helpful in preparing me for the installation of my first charging point for my new plug in hybrid car. Archie in particular helped to expedite the installation as the car arrival is just next week. He was extremely helpful and efficient . Alan
Very quick response from Ohme and the process has been excellent so far. Thanks Ohme and Archie in particular. 👍
Great service; it’s a real help having the installation expedited. Thank you, Archie. :-)
Very responsive to our request to supply and fit an at home charger. Easy to arrange online and work will be completed well within the 7 days stated
Very fast service - my charger is due to be installed within days of completing the forms.
The only thing better than the installation is the charger itself
Yes....26 days of paying outrageous commercial charging fees and almost daily charge stress. I use my car a lot to drive long distances for work so this has been a BIG nightmare. My charger died halfway through a charge and Ohme don't appear to have ANY idea what is wrong with the system. They have inferred for the last three and a half weeks that it must be a problem with MY car despite a neighbour plugging in his car and it did exactly the same thing - tripped the breaker. And I've lost count how many times I've told Ohme that I have never had a problem charging my car anywhere so it can't be a fault with my car. They did organise one third-party contractor to come and fix it but when replacing the equipment didn't work, he almost visibly shrugged his shoulders and said he would have to talk to Ohme and left...that was amost two weeks after it broke and since then...nothing. Nothing but emails saying that they are trying to resolve the issue and asking me more repetitive questions and to run more tests my end which, to be honest, just smacks of delaying tactics. And to top this all off, after getting fed up with Ohme, I called the installation company and within three days, they organised to come tomorrow for their guys to turn up and genuinely resolve this, not just "tick a box". But Ohme have cancelled that and given the callout to another thrid-party company which are yet to contact me to book a time to come out. Honestly, I don't know how good or bad other EV charging companies are but do your homework and swerve Ohme because they have been absolutely USELESS.
⭐ Disappointing customer service and long wait for an engineer My Ohme home charger has stopped charging my car completely due to repeated OverVoltage errors. I contacted Ohme and provided the requested voltage logs, pictures and videos. I also arranged for my own installer to check the electrical supply in my house and the charger itself. Despite all this, my charger is still not working, and Ohme has given me an appointment for next Wednesday. I now have to wait until then just to get an engineer to inspect the problem, with no guarantee it will be fixed on the day. I rely on my electric car for my work as a taxi driver, so this is costing me both time and money. I have to use public charging stations, which are much more expensive and reduce my earnings. I understand that technical problems can happen, but when a charger stops working completely, customers should receive quicker support and a clear plan to resolve the issue. My advice to anyone considering Ohme is to think carefully about the after-sales service and how long you might be left waiting if your charger breaks down. If you depend on your EV for work, these delays can be very costly. I hope Ohme improves its response times and customer support.
Don't use this company they are the worst avoid
Absolutely shocking customer service. Trying to get anything resolved with Ohme feels like shouting into the void with an automated email occasionally shouting back. No ownership, no urgency and no meaningful attempt to actually resolve problems. You constantly have to chase them yourself, explain the same situation repeatedly and somehow still end up getting nowhere. Their idea of resolving a complaint appears to be “sorry you feel that way” followed by absolutely no useful solution. Communication is appalling, accountability is seemingly nonexistent and the level of customer support is honestly embarrassing. The whole experience has been unnecessarily stressful and frustrating, and the attitude throughout has been incredibly disappointing. For a company whose entire purpose is supposedly to make EV charging easy, they’ve managed to make it anything but. If you’re thinking about using Ohme, I’d seriously reconsider. Once they’ve got your business, don’t expect them to actually care when something goes wrong. One star is generous.
Horrible experience. Took 6 months for them to actually come out and fit the charger. Outsourced to ProEV who said it needed 12 meters of trunking and extra labour which wasn't needed, yet where still charged for. For reference the charger went from the front of the house, 4 meters inside and into the consumer unit. 12 meters is longer than the actual house! When we asked for the extra trunking and labour to be refunded, we only got the parts, no labour. We're told it's because it took longer than expected, despite there being no set time for installation. Also the guy who installed it admitted he was new, SO OF COURSE IT WOULD TAKE LONGER! They changed their tone and said it was actually because they needed to remove old wiring, an old charger and route it through a garage. We have none of those things. AVOID! they will take your money and ChatGPT their answers back to you, take no responsibility and lie to you!
After many issues with the initial install and the charger going faulty I have to say you can’t actually fault their aftercare - I now have a working charger. The app is also pretty simple etc and the epod looks sleek
Terrible app. Repeated failures. No response from customer service. Avoid.
Very fast response , perfect communication
They promise a charger and install for £1,000 then want another £750 to actually install the item which was less than a meter from the electricity box. Absolutely not. A slow, painful and far from transparent process - wish I had never used them. Buy a different plug and get a local electrician to install it.
Got one to integrate with OVO for cheap charging, 18 months later and they've been dropped by OVO. Luckily my van can integrate to keep the cheap rate but now they've added althe need to confirm the battery level every time I plug in, which if I forget, results in not getting to the desired charge in the morning. Customer service is very poor and faults with the unit require complete replacement - not very eco-conscious
I recently had an issue with my Ohme charger where charging would start normally but stop after only a couple of minutes. I contacted Ohme Support and I honestly cannot fault the service I received. Their replies to my emails were extremely quick, professional and helpful throughout the entire process. They carefully reviewed the charging logs and gave me clear instructions on what to test. I was then away on holiday for a week and couldn't continue the troubleshooting. What impressed me even more was that Ohme contacted me again themselves after my holiday to ask if everything was OK and when I would be ready to continue the tests. I didn't have to chase them at all. Following their advice, I temporarily disconnected the charger from the app/account and completely switched off the power to the charger for around 15 minutes. After powering it back up, everything started working correctly again. I have since tested it with my vehicles and the charger is once again working perfectly. I have seen some negative reviews about Ohme, but my personal experience has been completely different. The support I received was genuinely excellent from start to finish. I now have my excellent charger working properly again and I couldn't be happier with the way Ohme handled the problem. Thank you to the whole Ohme Support Team for the fantastic and professional customer service. I genuinely wish more companies provided this level of support — unfortunately, very few do.
I had a problem with my Ohme charger when I got a new phone. After that my App wouldn't work (not communicating with the car). It took some time to get through, I guess they don't have enough trained staff, on telephone support, but I was lucky to get two smart and technically capable people to help me: Georgia and Stefan. They both stuck with the job to the end and got my app working again. Thanks for your tenacity and creative thinking. I guess the cause of the problem was my failure to properly remove my old phone from the App. Stefan and Georgia were both patient and helpful. The world could do with a few more folk with their attributes. Maybe hire a few more like them please Ohme?
Have been trying to get OHME to send an engineer to repair or replace my charger as have not been able to charge for 6 days, Have been trying to resolve through Ohme online chat for 3 days who have tried everything possible NOT to send an engineer to assist. My vehicle charges fine on another charger, what is it they do not understand, I give up with OHMe, good luck if you choose them !
I used Ohme to get an ev charger installed. As i had a complex cable run they required an in person survey. Once this was completed and i had agreed with the installation cost the "installation partner" organised a date to complete the work. i had previously agreed to carry out the required groundworks, hand dug a 15m long trench. the installers who came on the day were very professional. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication with the Ohme surveyor and they didn't have the ladder required to complete the installation in full. I agreed with the installers, that they would do as much as they could on the day (Friday afternoon) and then arrange for someone to return the following week to complete the install. a week had passed and i hadn't had any communication from Ohme or the installation partner. I contacted Ohme customer service to find out what was going on. after multiple emails back and forth and me having to chase them for an update i was eventually sent an "installation date" 4.5 weeks after the initial installation. this entire time i was left with 3m of open cable trench and a coil of cable in my back garden. i tried getting this data changed with customer service but they said this was the earliest date available. I contacted Ohme complaints department as this was unacceptable. they managed to sort out an earlier time of 3 weeks from the initial install. Once again my experience with the installers on the day was good. Due yo the inconvenience caused by this i requested a partial refund from Ohme (as my installation agreement was with them) they manages to get the "installation partner to provide a £100 goodwill payment which i accepted, although i believe this wasn't enough considering the poor service i received from Ohme.
If I could give 0 stars I would after buying our electric vehicle and ohme being the installer of the charger filled out there home survey and was told we needed a pre check visit and arranged this and was told it would be a complex install. Didn’t hear anything for 2 weeks and rang up after receiving a ln email asking me to book in for another pre check visit queried why we needed a second one and they said this was an error and they would escalate it logged in to check progress to find the order has been cancelled and rang the telephone number to find out why and was hung up on absolute joke of a company and still without a charger
Waited half an hour for someone to pick up the phone, tortured listening to the twangy A.I generated hold "music" which I am sure is designed for you to admit defeat and talk to a bot by chat. Finally a young man answered the phone, the quality of the call was so bad that I think you would get a better reception if you tied two tin cans either side of a piece of string. Promised a manager would call me Tuesday, it never happened. Posting on here so they can read my complaint. Is this really how you run a business?
Very slow to respond to issues. I haven't been able to connect to the app for nearly a week and my car isn't charging properly
After being told wait time is less than 10 min, ended up waiting 38 min on hold to be answered by a customer service agent who can barely speak. Literally couldnt understand the muffled sheepish voice, not even a word. She then hung up on me instead of trying to pass me over to someone else. Since the update charger isn't working. Been trying to resolve the issue for weeks and nobody is helpful in this company. Emails aren't being answered, incredibly long waiting times on the phone. Nobody can be bothered in this company. Avoid
Absolutely awful. The costumer service is non-existent. My honest summary is STAY AWAY!! If you need a reliable EV charger, if you need a company that will work with you Ohme is not it! Avoid at all cost!!
Absolutely avoid Ohme for EV chargers, especially if you have any doubts about buying an electric car. If anything goes wrong, don’t expect a quick resolution. You could be left with a car sitting on your drive with no way to charge it. In my experience, they repeatedly failed to get back to me when they said they would and seemed very reluctant to send an engineer. Instead, they assumed it was a software issue and spent days troubleshooting remotely, asking me to keep checking various things around the house without resolving the problem. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience. I’ll be sharing my feedback with energy providers and the motor companies that recommend Ohme, as I think they should be aware of the level of service customers may receive if something goes wrong.
Back in June 2024, Ohme installed a Home Pro charger at my property in preparation for our EV. The installation itself was excellent. There was a few hoops to jump through beforehand in terms of providing information, but it clearly helps the process run smoothly. The installer was professional, courteous, & efficient. Everything was completed within a few hours, fully tested before he left, & he even helped set up the app. Genuinely excellent service at that stage. For the first couple of months, the app worked flawlessly. After that, small issues began creeping in occasional reconnects, logging back in, or problems communicating with my car’s app (Nissan, in my case). These issues gradually worsened. At one point, I left a frustrated review on the app store about the glitches. Ohme responded explaining this was related to their API connection, described as a “cutting-edge Ohme Labs feature,” still in development and not always reliable. At the time I didn’t fully understand, but later it became clearer. Fast forward to January 2026, and the app had deteriorated significantly. I ended up in an online/email chat with a technician more than 25 times across January and February. It became incredibly frustrating as each response brought a new set of instructions that either did nothing, made things worse, or provided only a temporary fix. At its worst, some days I couldn’t charge the car at all, and on others, it would only partially charge, or it would trip the electrics, usually overnight. This became extremely stressful, mainly because my daughter lives about 175 miles away at university and requires regular travel for medical appointments, so reliability is essential. Which was worrisome as we experienced serious range anxiety even for local journeys. Yes, public chargers are an option, but when home charging costs around £7 compared to up to £80 publicly, it’s not a practical alternative. Eventually, I managed to get hold of a phone number and raised a formal complaint, asking for urgent action. Despite how stressful things had become, I remained civil as anger doesn’t help in these situations. The difference once I had spoken with someone directly was immediate. The advisor was helpful, apologetic, and quick to act. They explained properly that the issue stemmed from the app to app communication between Ohme & Nissan, which is still effectively in beta (and seems to have been for quite some time). The solution was to stop using the Nissan app integration entirely and rely solely on the Ohme app. This required uninstalling and reinstalling the Ohme app & setting everything up from scratch. Around the same time, I also reset my Octopus Energy setup as if I were a new customer, something I tried independently which helped stabilise things further. Since then, the system has worked about 99% of the time (with the occasional glitch). However, it’s no longer as seamless as before. Previously, the app would automatically know the car’s charge level & accurately charge to a specified percentage. Now, I have to manually check the car’s charge (via the Nissan app) & input how much I want to add. It works, but it’s less precise. For example, asking for a 40% increase might result in anything from 38% to 45%, & on one occasion I requested a charge from 37% to 85% & ended up with 93%. Still, at least it’s functional again. I deliberately waited before writing this review so I could give a complete picture. Unfortunately, the app issues weren’t the only problem. The unit itself began tripping, and when tested, the safety switch failed to trip when pressed, clearly a fault. Once reported, Ohme responded quickly & arranged for an engineer to replace the unit. It turns out a batch of older models had known faults, so if you experience this, it likely needs replacing. In summary, the initial experience with Ohme was extremely stressful. However, once I was able to speak to the right person, everything was handled quickly & professionally, with genuine apologies. See screenshots of Ohme requested to actual.
Wait times are fairly long and the automated messages are likewise. Also the AI messaging online is just a loop with few options. However, after getting through to a person they were very helpful and resolved my issue immediately.
The worst customer service I've experienced. The installation was botched with no communication between Ohme and the installer Crystal, but the installer also didn't follow guidelines and left the cable exposed due to not burrying it deep enough. We now have a fault on the unit, which Ohme acknowledged over 2 weeks ago was a unit issue. You can't actually get hold of anybody at Ohme, they sub contract the installation and repairs to other companies who also don't know how they communicate in a timely manner. Been waiting over 2 weeks now just for a follow up appointment. Wrote to Ohme asking what there official complaints process is or who the MD is.... No response. If you can avoid this company you should, and find a better quality company and wall box to use. Will save you time and hassle in the long run.
No urgency don’t get back to you very poor communications and poor customer service would not recommend
Super fast install, very happy indeed!
CHOOSE A BETTER BRAND - THERE IS NO AFTER CARE SUPPORT. after just a few weeks a fault happened to my charger. Ohme confirmed it’s a problem with their hardware and will look into it. Days and days they ignore messages. Their call centre have massive wait times on phone. Their online support only answer with AI bots. All I get it someone will be in touch. Meanwhile, customer has no method to charge car at home and is laying out expensive charge cost at public charger. POOR HARDWARE AND ZERO CUSTOMER SUPPORT. Pictures are of many messages and emails from their AI bots that just repeats someone within the hour will contact you. They never do. If you send message and wait and wait for Ohme to respond if you don’t respond straight away for them they close the chat and you have to start again.
Customer service is shocking. no number to talk to technical support as a user only as an installer. my charger stopped working and tried calling, emailing and web ticket and getting no responses. just the usual, responses are usually under 1 hour, its been hours and still no response.
Front fascia detached after 3 years and 4 months due to apparent adhesive failure, so 4 months beyond warranty. Charger remained fully functional. I requested to purchase a replacement fascia and was told this isn't possible and only offered a complete replacement unit at £660. I asked that given how soon after warranty this has failed if there would be some goodwill or to have the issue escalated but was told "unfortunately not" Absolutely no interest in helping other than trying to sell a new unit. Live chat communication via the support system was also difficult, with replies delayed and email links to replies opening new chats rather than existing conversations.
I had 1 charger pack in after 18 months. The new one developed a fault within six months. I contacted Ohme and Rebooted the system as requested. They tried to fix remotely, which did not work. I was then told to contact them in 24 hours if it still wasn’t working. I have no idea what they expected to change in those 24 hours. I’ve waited for a contact all day and nothing. On line help chat is pointless. Emails are simply not answered. I will go to another supplier in the future. Cowboy service avoid.
Was told going into this Ohme chargers were good and the one to go with. Had it installed, it won't connect so we can't set it up. You call their support and the phone line tries to push you to chat online because they really don't want to provide proper phone support. It even has the cheek to tell you to turn it off and on again and then wait 24hrs. Nothing connectivity wise should take 24hrs, what is this, the 90s? You ring them, the queue is massive and you end up waiting ages to literally be cut off when an agent answers. This is a cheap corner cutting company that does not think it needs to provide a decent service once they have your money. Thinking about getting the installer back and changing to a Hypervolt, if it worked problem free out of the box then I wouldn't need any support.
Charger off line on Friday, used the customer service link and was thanked for informing them, they were having technical problems and I would be a priority. Advised to switch off charger for 15 minutes. Repeated this every day, on Monday I called them directly after holding for 30 minutes, I finally got to speak to someone. Lots of apologies, they would send out an engineer. I had to chase this up and was finally told crystal electronics were now coming out and gave their telephone number.
I’ve had a very disappointing experience with Ohme so far. My charger developed a fault that required a backend reset, and I was given a case reference number. Since then, communication has been almost non‑existent. I confirmed the information they asked for immediately, yet I’ve had no meaningful response for over 48 hours. Even after following up multiple times, the case appears to be stuck with no progress and no updates. The charger itself has also been unreliable, regularly stopping due to voltage issues and failing to recognise my EV properly. I was told the tech team needed to remove both EV profiles from my account to fix the problem, but despite confirming this, nothing has been actioned. At this point, I’ve spent more time chasing support than actually using the charger. The lack of communication, long delays, and absence of any resolution have been extremely frustrating. A company selling essential home charging equipment should not leave customers without support for days at a time.I hope Ohme improves their customer service and response times, because the current experience has been far below expectations.
The charger itself is good as are the 3rd party engineers they use for installation and in warranty repairs however their customer service is shocking, 4 x calls of waiting 40 mins to get through to get an engineer organised. No flexibility on when that can be booked for either, you either except the date or go to the back of the queue. Staff on the phone sound very unsure of everything you ask them. A huge improvement would be phone up the third party and book directly, they are a million times better to deal with.
Terrible company. Terrible product. Constantly breaks, takes days or weeks to get a reply. Asked repeatedly for their complaints procedure and they refuse to provide it. Reporting them to trading standards now. I've pay a grand for a box that doesn't work. BUYER BEWARE
Very disappointing experience from start to finish. Once payment had been made, communication became poor and it was extremely difficult to get clear updates on the progress of the installation. This lack of communication ultimately resulted in delays and additional appointments that could have been avoided with better planning and customer engagement. I was also charged an additional labour fee on the basis that two engineers were required for the installation, yet only one engineer attended on the day. Despite acknowledging this in their response to my complaint, the company refused to refund any of the additional charge. The installation itself was completed to a good standard and the engineer who attended was professional throughout. Unfortunately, the quality of the installation was overshadowed by poor communication, avoidable delays, and repeated disruption. The rescheduled appointments resulted in me having to take additional annual leave, causing unnecessary inconvenience. What was most disappointing was the handling of the complaint. The company acknowledged that only one engineer attended and accepted that delays and disruption had occurred, but still declined to offer either a refund of the additional labour charge or any goodwill gesture for the inconvenience caused. Good workmanship from the engineer on site, but poor communication, poor customer service, and disappointing complaint handling. Based on my overall experience, I would not use this company again or recommend them to others.
Terrible service/Incompetence/They invented extra fees that don't exist. After I sent the videos and questionnaires they requested, they said no service was necessary. After I bought another charger for my wife and they failed to meet the agreed date, canceling it less than 12 hours before the installation, they decided to invent an additional service for my installation. Total lack of professionalism. This company is a (bad) joke. I have never seen so much incompetence and unpreparedness in one place.
If you are considering an Ohme EV charger, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. My recent experience with their customer care team suggests their 3-year manufacturer warranty is effectively useless when you actually need to claim on it. My Ohme Home Pro recently suffered an internal failure and stopped delivering power to my car. Instead of sending an engineer or accepting the unit for a proper technical inspection, Ohme asked for a photograph of the outside of the charger. Because the rubber cable gland (where the heavy tethered cable hangs and is manipulated daily) was slightly flexed outward, they instantly voided my warranty. They accused me of "accidental damage" and "excessive force." I attach a photo of my "damaged" unit so you can see for yourself how ridiculous this is. In my opinion, if normal daily use of a tethered cable causes the external gland to look like this, the unit is poorly designed and lacks adequate internal strain relief. When I demanded they physically open the unit to inspect the internal circuit board and prove their theory, they explicitly refused in writing, stating a photograph providing them with a visual check of the outside plastic was sufficient. To make matters worse, their "goodwill" solution was to offer me a refurbished replacement for £614, which is practically the cost of a brand-new unit. I am now having to hire an independent electrician to carry out the internal inspection they refused to do, and I am pursuing a legal claim against them for breach of warranty under the Sale of Goods Act. A masterclass in warranty evasion. Save your money, time, and sanity, and look at competitors like Hypervolt instead.
Asked for a quote £2100 with £131 ground work charges 😏 with no ability to negotiate. Octopus energy was £802. Shame the Ohme chargers looked good.
Struggle to contact so many options and problems not immediately deal with so frustrating
I was on verge of getting Ohme charger installed; after scrolling through the reviews I've changed my mind ;)
Getting an Ohme charger is one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. It’s extremely unreliable, we are now having to charge our EV from a 3 pin plug so it’s proving to be very expensive. Ohme’s customer service is next to useless, extremely unprofessional and the advice they give you seems like guess work. Terrible, do yourself a favour get a less complicated charger and let the car control when electricity enters the vehicle.
My Ohme charger randomly suffered a network connectivity issue. After several emails bouncing back and forth the Ohme support team, they failed to identify the root cause of the issue. This is clearly not a hardware fault, but some form of network connection error, perhaps a some form of range issue or sim card issue. Either way, Ohme have reverted to the stance of "the device is now outside of warranty and thus ill have to pay to fix the issue or would like to offer me the chance to purchase a new charger at a "discounted" rate. Rather pathetic experience really. Does this experience resonate trustworthy buisness tactics, or does it infer devious buisness tactics to eek out further sales as they loose market share gains... (Reminds me of the old I-Phone scandal of slowing old phones down to force new purchases).
OHME HOME PRO EV CHARGER DO NOT BUY THIS CHARGER, IT IS TOTALLY UNRELIABLE. HAVING HAD ONE FOR NEARLY SIX MONTHS, IT HAS PROBABLY ONLY WORKED 50% OF THE TIME. WHEN YOU PLUG IN IT TELLS YOU IT WILL CHARGE OVERNIGHT AND BE READY FOR THE MORNING, WHEN YOU CHECK IN THE MORNING IT HASN'T CHARGED AND CHANGED IT MIND SAYING IT WILL CHARGE DURING THE DAY, NOT MUCH USE IF YOU WERE HOPING TO USE THE VEHICLE TO GET TO WORK OR GET THE KIDS TO SCHOOL. LUCKILY I HAVE A HYBRID, GOD HELP ANYONE WHO IS ALL ELECTRIC. I PRESUME THIS APPLIES TO ALL OHME AND POD POINT PRODUCTS. LUCKILY, WHILST WAITING FOR THIS PRODUCT TO BE INSTALLED, I BOUGHT A £50 13amp CHARGER FROM EBAY WHICH WORKS EVERY TIME, NO PROBLEM. THE ONLY THING WORSE THAN THE QUALITY OF THIS UNIT IS THE QUALITY OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY TAKE AGES TO GET BACK TO YOU, BLAME THE CAR, THE ENERGY COMPANY OR THE USER BEFORE ADMITTING THERE IS A FAULT WITH THEIR UNIT. THEY OPENLY ADMIT DEMAND IS VERY HIGH, DOES THAT MEAN I AM NOT THE ONLY IDIOT AND EVERYONE USING THESE UNITS IS HAVING PROBLEMS. THERE IS QUITE OBVIOUSLY AN INHERENT FAULT, EVEN THE BEST MACHINES BREAK DOWN, THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT THE BEST QUALITY. NOW FINALLY AFTER 6 MONTHS THEY HAVE FINALLY ADMITTED THEIR UNIT CAN NOT PROVIDE SMART CHARGING FOR ONE OF THE WORLDS LEADING EV MANUFACTURERS, BYD. THEY HAVE TOLD ME TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT AND JUST USE IT AS A CHARGER WITH THE CAR DOING SMART CHARGING, LEAVING ME WITH NO SMART CHARGING FOR THE CHARGER, NO CONTROL OVER WHEN IT CHARGES (AS THE CAR ONLY HAS ONE SMART CHARGING SETTING), NO CONTROL OVER WHO CAN USE IT AND NO BACK UP INFORMATION. THEY DON'T TELL YOU THIS BEFORE YOU BUY ONE.
I recently had an EV charger installation arranged through Ohme. Although there was an unexpected issue on the original installation day, I genuinely cannot fault the way Ohme handled everything from beginning to end. The first engineer who attended from Pro-EV, the appointed installers by Ohme was courteous, professional, and very respectful. It was clear he was carefully following procedure, and I truly appreciated his honesty and manner on the day. After the cancellation, Ohme’s customer support was outstanding. Frederick from the customer chat was incredibly helpful, patient, and proactive in reviewing my case. He took the time to fully understand the situation, made sure the videos and details were properly reviewed, and helped move everything toward a clear resolution. His support made a stressful situation much easier, and I am sincerely grateful. Ohme’s operations team then reviewed everything thoroughly and arranged for the installation to go ahead with another installer, which gave me real confidence in their commitment to doing the right thing for customers. Communication throughout was thoughtful, empathetic, and professional. Sometimes things do not go to plan, but what really matters is how a company responds, and in my experience Ohme responded exceptionally well. I would not hesitate to recommend them based on the quality of their customer care, professionalism, and genuine willingness to resolve issues properly. Thank you again to Frederick and the wider Ohme team.
No problems up yil today and gone off line Its been working great up.til.now.websire is automated and pases to.human fatrf 48 hours of issue ....
I have been calling since 5.29pm. Automated messages states they are closed but state opening times as 9am -6pm! Your lines have been closed today since before 5.25pm. The engineers you appointed are unprofessional. I need to be contacted to appoint alternative EV charher installers pls. Thank you.
My Ohme ePod has been stuck in state where it can’t initiate a new charge for 6 days now and Ohme support are super slow- spent a very long time on the chat support and was initially blamed for having entered my Octopus tariff incorrectly. When this of course turned out to not be the case I have just had back and forth emails asking me to try things, none of which work. I get about one email a day and have to wait for a very long time for a response each time. I’ve asked on the chat if I can speak to someone and told I couldn’t. Feeling completely helpless with no home charging, not one sorry nor urgency from Ohme, and still no resolution. This for a just 2 month old Ohme ePod. Some of the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time.
Appalling after sales care. Charger has no power and they don’t know when an engineer can come out.
The charger is ok when when it works, but if something doesn’t work then you’re screwed. Possibly the worst customer service company in the UK. Funny how Ohme partners with Octopus, which I think has the best customer service. I guess if you add the two and divide in half then you’ll get average level of customer service. I regret having gone with Ohme charger, so don’t recommend it.
I received an Ohme charger with my new EV. Ohme has been brilliant throughout the ordering and installation process. I subsequently had an issue with the car “going to sleep” during the smart charging process, where my electricity provider schedules the cheapest/greenest time slots to charge the car overnight. Ohme supported me through a fix which means the car now charges faultlessly each time. Ohme has a chat bot which is truly extraordinary. You can ask it some really complex questions and it answers them quickly and accurately. Furthermore, the chat bot retains the subject of the thread just like a real human would, so its answered some really complex questions I had.
Genuinely the worst company ive ever had to deal with! Absolutely horrendous experience! So incompetent and unprofessional! This company shouldn't even exist! 3 months on and my home charger still isnt installed
Terrible company say they will call you back and they don't rang up several times now they do not let you know what is happening until you call up avoid avoid avoid
charger was installed in February 25 it made a whistling noise for 3 months. in June 25 it lost all power and took the company 4 weeks to replace it. 3 months later the new one has lost power. avoid st all costs.
Truly awful customer service. My charger has been faulty for four weeks. Told time and time again Technical Services will contact me but never do. Won’t talk to me, will only communicate via email or chatbot. Told me I needed to have more patience. I’ve sent 10 emails, called 14 times and spent hours on hold. I’ve used the chatbot 11 times. Finally they tell me I need to replace the charger, how they know this I’m don’t know as they have never really understood what the issue is. And as my unit is out of warranty want to charge me a ridiculous price. Please avoid this Company at all costs.
I rarely leave reviews, but after months of trying to resolve an issue with Ohme, I feel it's necessary to warn others. In March 2025, I contacted Ohme about upgrading to a longer cable for our EV charger. Over the phone, I was quoted approximately £294—high, but manageable. However, the written quote came back at £786, nearly triple the original figure. I immediately queried this and heard nothing for weeks, despite chasing via email. It wasn’t until May that I received any form of acknowledgment, and only after formally complaining. The installation was supposed to be tailored to our needs, yet the charger doesn’t even reach the car. We clearly explained the car model and port location, and the installer assured us the charger would be placed accordingly. That didn’t happen. The charger was repositioned but still doesn’t serve its intended purpose. Ohme eventually admitted their earlier price was incorrect and offered a goodwill discount of £246. However, that still left us paying more than the original verbal quote for a problem caused by their miscommunication and installation failure. They also closed the complaint, offering no real resolution. What should have been a straightforward cable swap has turned into a drawn-out, costly, and deeply frustrating ordeal. This experience has left us without a functioning charger and no confidence in Ohme’s customer service. Avoid if you want reliable support or accountability.
Worst company I’ve ever had to deal with my charger hasn’t worked been offline for 5 days! And they do not care! I’ve spoken to them several times and they just fob me off and say they will contact me back with a response but I hear nothing!!! Stay clear of Ohme I will NEVER have another charger from them!! I’m now using public charging as I can’t use the home charger anymore! Absolutely shocking I hope they go bust tbh!!!
Absolutely rubbish company . I’ve been trying to resolve issues since December . I eventually decided to make my front garden a drive as there is no kerb to worry about etc . Ohme agreed that where I want the pod to be was ideal . But next day said they would have to see the drive first ! Which is rubbish . Once installed I would have to have the drive to use it . So it’s my property , doesn’t cross any other boundary , no wires to trail a public area . But these clowns STILL can’t grasp the context and continue to put obstacles in the way that don’t exist! No kerb problems as there has to be access to garages of which I own one, as well as a parking area used by tenants . Again all access to that is straight from road so NO KERB. But Ohme just trot out the same rubbish about if there is a dropped kern and wires not to be run over a public area . Despite my sending fresh pics and explaining there is NO DROPPED KERB issue to deal with . 2 other companies could install with no problem . But because my car is through Mobility I cannot go elsewhere as Ohme have the contract .
My Ohme charger failed after only one month… My charger failed after only one month of installation. I've been chasing Ohme for 25 days emailing and calling them every working day, I've now reached the point of no reply to my emails and getting false promises over the phone. I can see this company going bust shortly. If you buy an Ohme charger then you're alone from day one. Special thanks to Mr Robert Robinson for ignoring all my emails.
I had an Ohme Pro charger installed three months ago and initially integrated it with Octopus Energy. Everything worked seamlessly—charging was accurate, and I couldn’t fault the system. Recently, I switched to OVO Energy due to a competitive offer and integrated my Ohme account with OVO. That’s where the problems began. I noticed I was being charged significantly more than expected. After contacting OVO, they explained the setup needed to be configured correctly through Ohme. I reached out to Ohme via email (Ticket #382045) and was advised by Beth that there were two ways to change suppliers: either they delete the account on their end, or I delete and recreate it myself with the same email and updated tariff information. I chose to delete and recreate my account—what a palaver! Since then, I’ve been stuck. Despite multiple messages to Ohme’s customer support and Beth, I’ve been ignored, and the issue still hasn’t been resolved. The customer service is absolutely appalling, and I’m now stuck paying extortionate rates to OVO because Ohme’s system and support team have failed to fix the problem. If you plan to switch energy suppliers in the future, avoid Ohme at all costs. The lack of support, unresolved issues, and the complexity of the process are simply not worth it. 😢
UPDATE: Even worst customer service, received an email to say we need to buy a new system for £660 WITHOUT them knowing or looking at what the problem is. Said they did a manual update from their end, didn't work, oh you need to buy a new one. Are you joking?! Worst worst customer service I have ever received. Stay clear of these crooks. Almost 5 weeks since logging first ticket. 4 weeks, to get a response, no resolution. Still no idea when our charger will be fixed or someone will actually respond to me. Doesn't help they are only open Monday - Friday when people are working, and up to an hour wait time on the calls. The stress of having to keep going to a relatives house to charge our car because we have nursery and school runs we need our car for. Shocking shocking shocking customer service.
AVOID charger stopped working and no one is answering our calls go with someone else for an EV charger. Avoid at all costs
Charger has been fickle and it's now completely dead. It's nearly a month and they still haven't sent anyone to remedy the issue and very slow response to email ticket and hard to get through on the phone.
Would put no stars as the company is a joke, been waiting 6 weeks for a repair! Since February of this year I have had 3 chargers they are not fit for purpose, I'm still unable to charge from home, all ohme are interested in is sending emails, sent my email saying the charger was still not working and have heard nothing! Don't do it, you will regret using this company, customer service a joke and not enough engineers who also agree the charger is not fit for purpose.
EDIT / UPDATE* Reply: if you wish to reply and talk to me (you can't reply to a comment on TrustPilot) please contact me under the open ticket I have - #255031. On top of the comments below the terrible customer service we received when getting the product out charger does not work. Been offered another engineer visit which will be over 5 weeks from the original placement of the order. Avoid Ohme at all costs, not worth it in the slightest. The fact they outsource the installation to someone else (who also sub contracted it to a different engineer) made the whole thing a nightmare to contact them about. The engineer also made an incredible mess, did not do an instructional walk through of any kind and blasted music for the 4 hours he was there from a boom box, making it impossible to work from home. I would personally not buy a home charger from these guys. An incredibly frustrating process, which involves paying large chunks of money upfront, no communication and being told you are in a queue / going to be waiting weeks and weeks. Customer service experience I had with them was not great, offering no help to find a solution to getting us confirmed dates, order numbers or any other information. Better off ordering the product from a third party and getting someone else to install it.
Got the charger fitted from pro ev theough motability last week. Since then the charger hasn’t worked and I haven’t been given no steps on what to do.
Not for the charger but for trying to get through to there phones.
Absolutely chaotic! Let down at last minute twice, no sense from customer service. They are unable to get hold of there installers and just keep saying that they must be driving. Then when they eventually turned up they said that they weren’t here to fit it just to look around (I had to rearrange two hospital appointments as they said they were coming with out checking we were available) They looked around the house and came up with the most ridiculous plans to drill through rooms and put trunking everywhere?! Or dig up our hallway floor 😐 Absolute Laurel and Hardey sketch ! Guessing they are trying to drag the job out for more payment?
If I could give Ohme less than one star I would. We were obligated to use Ohme through the Motability scheme. I must say that the installer (third party) for the charging point was first class. However, we were assessed to require a 15m lead, which at no point was raised to be a problem, and it is now 6 weeks since our install with out them supplying a cable. Ohme response rate to our emails and calls is non-existent and the one email we have had is ‘sorry we can’t help you’. Thoroughly disappointed and the charging point is unusable with out the cable.
Rubbish customer service.
Worst customer service. Really unhaopy with service and install provided. Avoid at all cost. Terrible customer serivce made a mistake with the install and did not accept thier mistake and honour it. Joke of a company and staff
Had my charge point fitted which went very smoothly . Only trouble is they have not supplied the 8metre cable that was ordered. I have called 3 times to chase this up to be told I’ll receive a call back to arrange delivery . What use is the charge point without a cable?? Incurring inflated costs to charge at public charge points and being disabled I need my car to get to and from hospital appointments. AVOID this company.
Charger stopped working on a Saturdays, it’s now Wednesday evening and still haven’t had any response from Ohme, let alone someone out to repair the issue. Called multiple times, each time with a promise of a call back, only to never receive one and have to chase each time, awful!
Very poor customer service constantly having to chase up on orders never get any answers and constantly hanging up because no one wants to know or help with anything stay clear from this company and use someone else that will have more polite and professional staff that is willing to help
Recomendado 100%
Absolutely disgusted in this company. I’m issued with my first motability car which is full electric. They said the charge lead has to be on the property boundary ONLY or they cant fit one. The lead is in no way anywhere that it can be tripped over by anyone or tampered with in anyway. It’s only off the property less than 30cm crossing a gap that’s too small for anyone of any age to find down. All of these Things would actually would be more prone to happening if it was cable led on a driveway or a front yard.
Edited review: Recent experience (April 2024) has shown Ohme to have bounced back from the customer service I experienced below. I still haven’t got my charger working properly but at least they are answering the phone and trying! Original review: Customer service has currently gone downhill (October 2023). After good service when our Ohme Home Pro charger was fitted in March 2023, recent warranty issues have been impossible to discuss with them. Phone calls are being auto-directed to a call centre who claim Ohme will phone back within 30minutes. But they don't phone back at all.
The Ohme Home Pro is a promising addition to the market of smart electric vehicle (EV) chargers. Boasting advanced features and intuitive controls, it aims to streamline the charging process for EV owners while providing flexibility and convenience. Here's a breakdown of its key features and performance: Smart Charging Capabilities: The Ohme Home Pro excels in its ability to optimize charging schedules based on factors such as energy tariffs and grid demand. With its smart functionality, users can potentially save on electricity costs by charging during off-peak hours when rates are lower. User-Friendly Interface: The device is designed with a user-friendly interface, making it easy for EV owners to monitor and control their charging sessions. The accompanying mobile app offers seamless connectivity, allowing users to remotely manage charging schedules and monitor energy consumption. Compatibility and Integration: One of the notable advantages of the Ohme Home Pro is its compatibility with various EV models and charging infrastructures. Whether you have a Tesla, Nissan Leaf, or any other electric vehicle, this charger is designed to work seamlessly with your vehicle's charging requirements. Additionally, it integrates well with smart home systems, providing added convenience for users. Build Quality and Durability: The Ohme Home Pro boasts a sturdy build quality, ensuring durability and longevity. Its robust construction makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations, providing users with flexibility in placement options. Negative aspect: Despite its impressive features, the Ohme Home Pro falls short in one significant aspect: lack of support for solar integration. In an era where renewable energy sources are increasingly becoming popular, the absence of solar compatibility is a notable drawback. Many EV owners are inclined towards sustainable energy solutions, and the inability of the Ohme Home Pro to harness solar power for charging represents a missed opportunity. Integrating solar support would not only align with the environmentally conscious ethos of EV ownership but also potentially offer additional cost savings by utilizing renewable energy sources. In conclusion, while the Ohme Home Pro offers several compelling features such as smart charging capabilities, user-friendly interface, and compatibility with various EV models, its inability to support solar integration is a notable drawback. Despite this limitation, it remains a solid choice for EV owners seeking a reliable and convenient charging solution for their vehicles.
Got through eventually very helpful and solved the issue over the phone
Customer service is a joke!
Installing an Ohme was one of the worst decisions we have made - it's made our life a misery. I would advise people to AVOID AT ALL COSTS as the reliability of the system and the after care is abysmal. The installation was fine and we got a few months where it worked as a smart charger but then it just stopped and we have been plagued by connectivity issues and it will only work now as a dumb charger. The customer service is non existent. Slow (can take a week to a respond and then often without a solution) and unhelpful - they trot the same lines out including 'we've recently become aware of connectivity issues' we had that line six months ago and I can see others in forums had the same line 12 months ago - they may as well say cross your fingers overnight when you charge it as they don't appear to have any fixes and are just hoping for the best. I hardly ever leave bad reviews but this is one of the worst companies we have dealt with - I have a faulty system and am not being offered any solutions on how to fix it.
One of the worst companies I've unfortunately had the displeasure of dealing with. Customer Service is a joke. Constantly using delay tactics. So not to have to resolve thier faults. Charger worked for 3 days. Broke my electric metre now I can only contact them via email. DO NOT HAVE WORK DONE BY THEM.
Non existing customer service. I’ve had my charger down for 2 weeks now and company don’t even respond to my tickets. Can’t get through over the support line either. This goes now to ombudsman service and I’ll demand refund for the charger.
absolutely shocking customer service, and dire aftercare service. currently 4th week of home charger not working, no one helping, email response when we do get one looks like it's written by an AI bot as makes no sense, or keeps asking us to provide the serial number but then we get nothing past that. Useless and beyond frustrating.
Had a charger fitted I used it 3 times 1st time it worked 2nd time it tripped the power 3rd time tripped the power again now it will not power up. Called and emailed no one has got back to me , contacted mr charger who fitted it. Not very helpful. If you are buy an electric car. DO NOT USE these companies.
Despite all the bad reviews, my home charger and the app has been working great so far. I’d consider myself lucky especially if the app and charger keep working as the are now. After about 1 month of use I have had 0 issues what so ever and the people who installed my home charger were very professional and even helped us with the app and explained everything in great detail. Can’t thank ohme enough so far for their flawless service.
poor quality.... the way it connects to the car almost never. It charges preety much to what percentage it wants. if set to 80.... it can be anything around that rage up to 100%. the app is a joke in itself.
When it works the app is great. I would give 5 stars, however, they lose 1 star as the customer care number takes quite a long time to be answered. Also, unlike some other companies there is no feedback on your position in the queue or how long it will be before your call is answered. They do give helpful advice on troubleshooting though.
Had a new EV charger fitted just over a week ago. Doesn't work! This company has got a contract with the government motability scheme for disabled. How did that happen. Cant get through on the phone so new charger, new ev, cant use either. Next port of call Motability
1 star is 1 too many! My Ohme charger was installed in August 2023. It didn't work properly so they eventually installed a replacement charger which has even more problems than the first. Im still waiting for it to be sorted. Poor product, dodgy installers and bad customer service. Very disappointed so my advice is to avoid and shop elsewhere
Unhelpful Customer care (more like don't care!) Customer care team do not have a clue on how to help, nor do the know how their APP works of how it interfaces with your EV. TESLA API has not work for days, so I cant smart charge my car, So instead of paying £3 to charge car on cheap rate electricity, i need to go to street charge and pay £40+ for same charge. Ohme response, and I quote " It is what it is"What it is is diabolical customer care, awful customer experience, and no updates, feed back, NOTHING! The least they could do is advise the API is down, and then give customers a bit of info as to when it will be cak. All in all absolutley poor. If i could rip the charger out and get a new one tomorow i would not hesitate.
COWBOYS DO NOT USE THEY SUB CONTRACT TO COWBOYS AND DONT DO WHAT THEY PROMISE THEN IGNORE YOU. BEWARE IF YOU USE THEM. I WOULDNT LET THEM REWIRE A PLUG. LEAVING PROPERTY UNSAFE AND COULD CAUSE DEATHS. THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF THIS AND I CAN SUPPLY ALL THE INFORMATION IF NEEDED. OH AND MY CHARGER TOOK NEARLY 14 WEEKS TO COMPLETE AND THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU ANY INFORMATION THAT YOU ASK FOR ABOYT YOUR OWN INSTALL WHICH I THINN IS AGAINST ANY GDPR REGULATIONS AND ALSO DONT WANT TO ESCALTE ANY COMPLAINTS
It has now been more than 2 weeks since my last reply from you guys. I have been spending a fortune to charge at public rapid chargers as my home charger was fitted incorrectly and the switch keeps tripping. You told me to email and I had NO reply at all. I call, nobody answers. I am disabled with no home charger and limited income and I spend every penny I have extra on charging at these expensive chargers. I NEED HELP ASAP!! You are a disgusting, unprofessional, careless company and you should not be allowed to work with motability.
Hi, My charger was sent to me for the 23rd December, since which two visits from Pro EV (third party supplier) were scheduled but never completed. 1st visit - 2nd Jan, engineer sick. Cancelled. 2nd visit- 8th Jan, engineer turned up, injured himself so failed to complete job. Damaged piece of charger so now needs replacing. 3rd visit- awaiting confirmation. I rang your customer service line yesterday, j was told my complaint was going to be escalated and realised your service advisor didn’t even take any details which means she made the whole thing up. I’d like to request a refund fo £50 or cancel the surge protection I paid for. I’d also like to raise a complaint. This email will be used as reference and your Google review , which already looks like your service is appalling, is about to get worse. Please confirm my refund. Appalling service and worst thing I can’t believe Audi arranged my car charger through such a poor company! Avoid at all costs if you have the choice
STAY AWAY!!!! Ohme has been one of the WORST customer service I have ever received. I was contacting back and forth after my charger suddenly went offline, after hundreds of emails and countless calls I was told I would get a call/email back over and over again which hardly ever happened, as I was receiving hardly any contact I had to keep contacting them for an update. I even spoke to a supervisor at one point and still no success. After a whole four months they have finally been bothered to come out and fix it after I basically threatened to expose them throughout all my social media accounts and take it up with motability which they are in partnership with. As soon as my contract is finished I will be leaving as a customer and making sure EVERYONE around me knows not to use OHME, I definitely do not recommend. Also the replies on this thread apologising to customers about their negative experience is so funny to me, give it a rest and sort your company out instead of giving false promises and empty sorries.
We have been using our Ohme EV charger for 3 months now, we chose Ohme as our car manufacturer and all the installers I received quotes from said Ohme was the best. From my experience charging our car I 100% do not agree with this. Would rather give a half star rating. The schedule set up on my app has not worked once, I spend so much time working in the Ohme app and resetting the 230VAC for the EV charger trying to get the car charging correctly. The faults I experience are different every time, every evening I have such a frustrating time getting the charging to work. Ohme do reply when you raise a ticket with an issue but it’s clear they do not understand the faults users experience properly, most of the time they tell you to turn the mains off and on. When the EV charger, Ohme app and car work in conjunction together it’s great but this is a rare occurrence. If Ohme are the best I dread to think what their competitors systems are like.
Ohme are the most unprofessional company I have ever used. Waited months to have charger fitted and when charger was fitted it lasted 2 weeks and broke. Rang several times to raise the issue to be told they will get team to contact me. No telephone calls received. Government say go electric its a joke as you can't get your car charged at home. This has now been sorted
Had an ePod fitted 2 weeks ago but it was broken from the start and unable to get online. I raised this with them on the day it was fitted (Ref 174304) and they have been trying to make changes to the device remotely to get it working. I have chased many times over call and email for an update and recieved nothing back from them. I even made a complaint via their internal complaints process (Ref 176539) which they ignored. They sell rubbish kit and then provide rubbish customer service, avoid at all costs.
I’ve had an Ohme home pro installed. I cannot connect it to intelligent octopus plan as it states Ohme charger registered to someone else. I’ve spent two of my days off ringing them and octopus. No further. Spoken to someone this morning. They promised to send an email. It wasn’t come. Waste of time. I stay on the phone for five mins and have to leave a message that no one replies to.
I have had nothing but trouble with the app/charger since I had it fitted last year by Ohme Car always offline .Customer service is a disgrace I couldn't unplug my charger and have been waiting for 48 hours for a reply as you can't actually speak to someone and as there opening hours are only 9-6 if your charging car overnight which most people do there nothing you can do.This is very frustrating and stressful and is a regular occurrence not just a one off , if you were planning a journey you would have to go to a charging station defeating the object of having a home charger. If you want a stress free experience don't use ohme , surely in this day an age of wanting everyone to go electric you'd think they would be more customer friendly .AVOID AVOID AVOID.I think if you read the reviews on here most people are have the same problems.
Been waiting 6 weeks now, still no installation date, made a complaint and now they want 3k for groundworks. Being held to ransom. Call ohme to speak to managers, leave me on hold for 15 mins then apparently no managers available. Don't use
Ohme charger fitted and it has never worked. Made contact right away, unable to speak to anyone over the phone, rings out and asks to leave a message which is never responded too. Sent an email which I have one response and then nothing again. The installer has tried to make contact on my behalf which has also been frustrating. It has been over a week and I have not been able to speak to anyone, what a horrible experience! I will have the charger uninstalled and replace with another brand. I would stay away from Ohme, if you’re yet to make a purchase think ahead, if it goes wrong there will be no support and there is little you can do yourself when the issues are software related.
Avoid if you can - but best of luck if you go with them We are a 2 car EV household, both regular brands. The poor reviews about the app are a reflection of our experiences to date - it’s truly awful. Because of our chosen utility provider it made sense to go with Ohme as it offered the best integration. However the app crashes, doesn’t charge the car, when it does charge the car it doesn’t put the amount of charge you ask it too. Sometimes it works perfectly but most of the time it lets you down - it’s just unreliable. You don’t know if it’s worked until the next day so you can be left short It doesn’t support a two car household effectively as swapping vehicles on the app is a pain in the neck. We have contacted support numerous times who send you round and round in circles and your left wishing you’d got something else. Once you mention all the bad reviews about the app support stop replying to e-mails as I guess they know they can’t offer a fix.
What a Poor customer service. One of the very worst. The charger doesn't charge properly. My car charges 3KW only in over 10 hours. Really disappointing
I am writing this review at 2.50 in the morning after my phone alerted me yet again to the charger going offline while trying to charge during cheaper tariff which starts at 12.30am. The charger won't reconnect. I have now been trying to get help from Ohme for about 3 weeks now, nothing from them but notification of escalation of issue to tech support. I am a motability customer and this is unacceptable for someone who is dependent on their adapted vehicle. I will be contacting motability again to complain about the lack of contact from their official charger supplier. The unit is not fit for purpose. The only way I can get the unit to reconnect is to get someone to go into the electrical cupboard and reset the power to the charger. Latest update, I've been told that someone will be out to sort charger on 12th FEBRUARY 2024 , 4 MONTHS after the initial email and calls about fault.
The worst company I've ever dealt with. Was told my electric home charger would be fitted within 2 weeks of getting my new electric car. Its now been 4 weeks and Ohme still haven't given me an installation date. It is costing a fortune to charge at mobile charging stations and it is just not practical.
Terrible customer service. Go and buy a different charger people and do yourself a favour!!😡😤
Just terrible!!! If you want a product that doesn't work and makes every setup step super frustrating then Ohme is the charger for you. Here is a summary: 1. Big screen but no on screen instructions on how to use the buttons and interface is confusing. 2. 1x instruction manual for the installer, 1x instruction manual on how to download the App. NO instructions on how to use the charger. 3. When you download the App the only way it can be connected to your charger is by scanning a QR code which they say is on the box. It wasn't!! And yes I checked every inch of all the packaging/manual/invoice... 4. So instead they print a tiny QR code on the underside of the wall charged (which is now on the front of your house) and so have fun having to lie on your drive trying to scan it. 5. The app then tells you that you are connected, shows you your car and allows you to set up a charging schedule (Great I thought, we are finally getting somewhere). Until you quickly notice that absolutely zero date is being sent to the app and so you have no information and no way of managing your charges. 6. Let's re-install the app I thought, maybe that will sort it out. Uninstall, re-install, lie on the drive again to then see a message saying "This charger is already connected to another account, please try another charger" 7. So now I'm 'on hold' to Ohme customer support that instead of putting me in a queue where eventually I'll speak to someone, after 5 minutes it asks you to leave a message and automatically cuts you off. Nice! So, in summary... If you want to spend a huge amount of money on something that shouldn't be launched to market yet, ultimately doesn't work and will waste hours of your time finding out you have purchased something they couldn't be bothered to test properly then Ohme is the brand for you.
After contacting customer complaints a very helpful lady got back to me and resolved my issues.
Didn't turn up when arranged. Only tried the mobile, not our home number. Stayed in all day waiting for them. They said they could not find the property - we have neighbours who have been in all day as had we, so they did not try very hard plus we are very easy to find on google maps. Supposed to be a firm to support the motobility network - offered a new survey date - in a months time!! Not impressed....
Terrible service , had a problem for over 4 weeks no response from them
El servicio es inmejorable, tuve un inconveniente con mi Ohme y me ayudaron a solucionarlo muy rápido
Do not use this company. Was offered the charger free when I bought my very expensive Audi. When they came to install the engineer had not been sent the new CV unit and breakers which I had been charged £382 for. I had to buy these locally so they could complete the install and was told by the engineer they'd confirmed that these would be refunded. Two phone calls and two emails later and they've still not acknowledge or paid this back - this is 3-4 weeks on after the install. They also charged an extra £150 on the install as the engineer had to climb two steps on a step ladder (working at height)! Rip off, poor after care and they owe me a lot of money - DO NOT USE!!!!
So having previously posted a review as Ohme refused to install in our property. We now have an update. Things have got from bad to worse. I had provided emails from our head councillor to confirm we are ok to have the charger installed in our parking spot. Despite this they still blatantly refused. To make things worse the poor disabled lady living here had to pay £1000 to have this installed from another company instead of these guys who motability use for free installations. This has been a huge strain on her financially. Now to make things worse after being told no several times, they came back on the day we paid £1000 to have the installation to say they can now install it after we have already paid £1000. Absolutely horrific and the disabled lady is in bits knowing if they just agreed she would have used this £1000 towards her livelihood. We have had to send tens and tens of emails to these guys and take hours and hours of our time chasing everything up with the council as well only for Ohme to refuse and say AFTER we pay another company £1000, they will do change their mind and do it. They left it weeks and weeks before they agreed and by then it was too late. We will be taking this to the press as well as official complaints entities such as the ombudsman.
We had our Ohme charger installed. It was dead easy dealing with the team. Service was brilliant and the installation engineer was friendly. We love our Ohme as it also syncs up to our home wifi to get the best rates. Have used it for 2 years now and all good.
This company is an absolute joke, I have been trying now for over 2 weeks to actually speak to a human, which is absolutely impossible, I eventually got through to be told the support team are busy and they would get somebody to contact myself. I have left numerous messages. I had the charger installed I put my car on charge for it to of taken over 14 hours and still my car was not 100% charged, the next attempt was over 10 hours and still my car was not 100%. To actually get through to speak to somebody to resolve my issues is a completely impossible but in the process of this I’m expected to constantly pay my electricity bill I am furious with this company they don’t even deserve 1 star
I have booked in to get my Easee charger to changed. The installer Crystal Electronics booked me in but they actually didnt turned on to do the change due to the sickness of engineerI have taken a day off to be home. PLEASE DO NOT USE OHME OR CRYSTAL ELECTTRONICS. I have never had a problem with EASEE. They come out on the time they promised and theirs customer service is amazing. I cannot say this about OHME. Terrible customer service. Waiting time on the phone is over 20 minutes and they only taking your name and phone number to call you back...which might never going to happen.....if they call you back in few day time you can consider yourself extremely lucky. Their charger may looks posh and modern but the service isn't good so I urge you think twice before you choose OHME. Many better providers out there who provide the same service but with a smoother customer service experience. Please read the other 1 star reviews on here and compare what I was write and others....we all had a Negative experience with this company..... There's a reason why people leave this negative comments under...
Rude staff, sent me the wrong length cable and had a month to send me the correct one and still haven’t sent it, rang over 10 times and can’t get through, the one time I managed staff were rude and talked over me. I tried to file complaint but they don’t reply to emails. I have a charger that can charge but isn’t connected online so it’s pointless using the app and even if I could the cable they sent is 3 meters too short. Avoid like the plague and shop around, this company is shocking!!
Absolutely horrendous experience. I had the go ahead from Ohme when I completed a survey with them and they said all looks fine, so we went ahead and spent an absolute fortune ordering the car . Now these guys are making issues out of my parking arrangements despite everyone else saying it was fine. I have already ordered the car and now facing huge issues because of these guys. Several other installers are saying it is fine other than these guys. It is also because of a designated spot outside my gate for a disabled person, which these guys do not deem good enough, despite us parking here for 27 years daily!!!!
Most Unprofessional and Conning Company When a consumer raises a concern, the best response is to listen, and that is exactly what Ohme did not do. I have had a faulty EV charger for over 2 weeks now, and Ohme has just disappeared without a trace. Ohme will subcontract your purchase to the service provider called Providor, who will never attend the appointment, and God help you if you want to raise this with Providor. You are dealing with the most unprofessional and conning companies in the work of EVs. Do Yourself A Favour and Buy from a reputable EV provider
Poor install going for the easiest route don’t care how it looks at the front of your property
Absolutely appalling customer service and shockingly bad installation service. They are trying to force me into paying a £1000 install fee or I won't get the charger I have paid for. Now at the point of reporting them to the ombudsman and taking legal action.
OHME are an absolute pleasure to work with! Fantastic, quality products and a really lovely team to work with too. Would not hesitate to recommend the OHME products or service
Literally the worst customer service! Do not buy a ohme charger
Abysmal service, no returning calls or messages left.
Asking questions I can't answer, paying for a car I can't use and still sitting on the forecourt
If I could give 0 stars I would. Installation is fine but we have no lead to charge the car. Numerous emails and calls to customer care team go unanswered. Useless! I’m sure they’ll just reply to this review with a stupid “please contact customer care” which we’ve been trying to do. What a joke! I’d advise anyone reading this to go elsewhere!
I tend to think you can only tell how good a brand is when it goes wrong... When Ohme works, its fine... but when it doesn't, the customer service is completely non-existent. The tech support people offered some initial suggestions but then not much more.... you can see below to reviews they ask you to drop a note, but they simply do not respond or take calls. If you are lucky enough to get through to someone, they tell you that customer services do not deal with customers? There is a problem with the Tesla API which means there is no communication between Tesla and Ohme. This means you cannot take part in certain EV tariffs which require that integration and you may miss out on other functionalities... There is no fix or even an ETA... All i would say is research other companies service before buying into Ohme... If you just need a dumb charger, this will do the job....
I have been a very happy Ohme customer now for almost 3 years. Initially I used their cable and smart app to take advantage of plunge pricing which enabled me to get paid for charging my car whilst I slept!! I have since moved house and upgraded to Ohme’s epod which my wife and I seamlessly use for our individual EVs. We love their smart technology and the fact that Ohme’s charger is compatible with any energy tariff or OEM. Their customer service and post sale support is fantastic and their smart technology enables us to save money by charging at night. As far as I can see they have the smartest charger for the best price, so I have no hesitation in recommending Ohme for your EV charging requirements
Via mijn werkgever 2 maanden geleden een Ohme-Go kabel gekregen.
I have the ePod and it’s a fantastic charger. Work’s brilliantly with my Octopus Intelligent tariff and looks discrete on the font of my house. The service was great from start to finish.
Utter garbage if you have 2 EV's in your household. You have to keep logging in and out using each cars differing app credentials for the charger to work properly. Charger also charges/doesn't charge as and when it feels like it. Set schedules are routinely ignored. Have contacted Ohme about this via email as they don't answer the phone directly and don't respond to messages left to call back. If I could give zero stars, I would. Update based on response below. Yes someone called. They confirmed that the charger did not seem to be operating as it should. They agreed to confirm with a manager about removing it and then nothing. Another week of me and my installer chasing for updates and today they arbitrarily "decided" that no, they aren't going to do anything. No reason. No explanation. Can I get through to customer services? No, of course not. I can leave voicemails that go unanswered. I can send emails that don't get replied to. Same for the installer. This is a company to be avoided at all costs. Dont' waste your money.
Excelente trato por parte del equipo
Muy contento con mi cargador, servicio perfecto!
El cargador tardó poco en llegar desde que lo pedí. Además funciona perfectamente!
Good service
Happy with this solution. Very recommended
No concern for customers at all. My vehicle isn't in the database list although it should be and after a couple of days of their tech support trying to sort it out, they now just ignore me completely. In 3 weeks I've had 3 emails to tech support and 2 irate ones to customer service completely ignored except for the auto-response saying they'd be in touch. My so called smart charger is nothing more than a high priced dumb mains socket if they can't sort this out, as they say they will in their brochures and on the website. Edit after the reply was finally received, a month after I originally posted. No I will not be emailing your general mailbox as it would probably take another month to get a reply to that. In the meantime I have had a reply from your tech team to tell me that there is an issue and they have absolutely no timescale at all for a fix. Apologies are all very well but that seems to be the only 'support' you offer. Actions would be better and until you can manage that I will continue to post what I think of the false promises this company makes.
Ho acquistato un caricatore monofase domestico ed il prodotto ma soprattutto il servizio hanno superato le mie spettatrice, davvero bravi!
Great Team!
great company and products
Reliable service and product. I would definitely pick them again in the future.
A great product that's easy to install backed up by great customer service!
From first contacting through to the installation of my home EV charger everybody was helpful, communicative and easy to deal with.
Owned an Ohme charger for around 7 months now - I've been super impressed from start to finish. From ordering, to installation and running the app the service has been superb. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Review edited to reflect the excellent customer provided by Ailish from Ohme. After an issue following installation, Ailish provided incredible help and we managed to find a resolution. Highly recommended based on the service received. Thank you!
I recently had my home charger installed by Ohme and the process was seamless from start to finish. My charger was installed before my vehicle arrived and I love the smart features that the application offers. Would highly recommend!
Producto y servicio de alta calidad, muy fiable. Alta profesionalidad.
Pro, excellent service, highly recommend!
I've been using our Ohme for nearly two years, and its performance has been outstanding, particularly in conjunction with the Octopus Go tariff. It stands out as the genuine smartest charger on this basis and I did a lot of reading up-front before deciding to go with Ohme. The installation process was smooth, with images and videos providing sufficient guidance for the engineers to complete it in just half a day. Ohme's grid-friendly approach also solidify their position as industry leaders in my view.
Wonderful experience
Great charger, works really well with Smart meter fir getting the cheapest charge. App is great… great interface
I have had my Ohme charger for just over a week now and it’s been great. Easy to use and access to Octopus tariff is a big help. Couple of queries I did have were answered quickly by their customer service team.
No podría estar más encantado con esta empresa, me han dado soporte directo desde que he querido realizar mi compra.
Ohme Pro charger stopped working; reported this by email, the app, and on Twitter, as they don't answer their phone. One reply asking me to reboot, which I did, then nothing. So no charging, no customer service. Ticket number #101473 Update - replacement charger eventually provided and Ohme covered the independent installer's costs. So a good, albeit slow, service in the end.
Worst ever customer services stay clear dont use
Shocking – the smart software (the reason for buying it) doesn’t work with Porsche and many other makes. When I complained I wasn’t told this before buying it they pointed me to some almost impossible to find web page buried deep on their website.
All this company is interested in is taking your money. They seem to think providing a product is optional. I was promised a two-week lead time on having a home charger fitted. Three weeks after handing over £975, and only after dozens of emails, phone calls, and eventually having to get VW to talk to them through their partner support, I have only just been contacted about maybe arranging an installation date for another three weeks from now. In the course of trying to sort this out, Ohme have lied repeatedly to try to cover up the fact that they simply forgot to pass my details to the installers. (They have since admitted this, I’m not even guessing!) Honestly, the whole thing smells like a massive scam.
Wow I have not seen or heard any company which is impotent in installing a EV charger. Rather than sending a surveyor after spoken on phone and gave them necessary information its been months I have been waiting them to install one. Their keep sending me emails to send them videos of my house which I have many times but still nothing. Try to get an ev charger installed from them is now getting tiring and stressful. I would recommend to avoid this company and its products. Very poor service ..
Terrible customer service. A really poor company that Audi should drop as their complementary EV charger provider immediately.
They don't answer the phone, and the charger itself is factory sealed which is frustrating. I'm sending mine back.
I find it shocking that your technical support team Rings out to voicemail all day long but your sales team will pick up the phone with one ring stop selling new units if u can't fix the issue with the unit u have sold your priorities are backwards start to prioritise the customers that have spent money and not the customers that going to spend money the most frustrating thing about this whole situation is the product is actually good one of the better chargers out there i would like to update this after waiting for a call back that never happed i called them agen two see why my chager is offline and not working to have a rude argment staff member that cant amidit there wrong and take info about the biasness prison at this pint stay away from ohme there only care when takeinng your money but after they don't care
Do not use this company. I got offered a free charger by this company for buying an Audi. Almost two months later I still have no charger. They are constantly trying to rip me off, with further invoices totalling over £900 for a free charger. Customer service is absolutely shocking, you can't get through to anyone. Do not use. Even if offered a free charger it works out cheaper to get an electrician to buy and fit one.
Had my Ohme for 3 years. Works flawlessly.
They never answer the phone, the * call back never gets a call back. The voice mails left never get a call back. SHOCKING
Awful product and terrible service . Hang you out to dry ...for your own sake don't buy an ohme
Customer service non existent, absolute sham of a company
Shocking customer service. It has been three weeks since we received our electric car and three weeks without a home charging point. We were provided with one quote demanding further payment upfront for a “complex” fit. When I queried this, I was told it was due to amount of time needed to install and if it didn’t take as long I would be refunded (as long as I pay upfront)! We live in a new house. Neighbours have had theirs fitted with no issues whatsoever. I have chased Ohme since Monday yet they are still to get back to me. It is impossible to get through on any of their phone lines. After about 30 seconds you’re diverted to a message device which invites you to leave a voicemail or request a call back. I’ve done both of these options several time daily since Monday. According to the voice mail, if you request a callback or leave your name and number they’ll “get back to you as soon as we can”. I see their head office is on the strand. I reckon it would be quicker if I went and knocked on their door. Very disappointed with the lack of contact
Worst customer care services, I filled out a pre survey form and sumbitted it, never got any further follow up or contact by OHME, emailed them and they replied that their installation partner called me and I didnt pick it up which was a complete lie and asked me to contact them by myself, I asked them to call me back instead which never happened, never bothered replying me back either. 0/5 0/10 0/100
Not impressed by this company, very difficult to arrange a survey, and they won’t put in a charger despite having my own driveway. Would not recommend
Worked fine for 2 years, but now it does not feel like connecting to the same network its been happy with for 2 years. 2 weeks and still no support from Ohme. Access to the electricity tariff i'm on relies on this working!
Very poor service , I have been waiting for installation for weeks now , submitted all photographs as requested but on the day engineer cancelled the installation requesting different cables , now new cables are in place but not getting installation, yesterday have been offered another date over a month from now , tried calling Ohme several times and all available advisors are busy and press star fir call back but no one ever calls you back , really disappointed with the whole experience, can’t use my car now for few weeks now
Top class customer support team and products.
Faulty charger and customer service absolutely appalling. I had an Ohme charger installed by ProEV on 4 May, it has a fault and has not worked since installation, was advised to contact Ohme directly. Called several times but no one answered as too busy, requested a call back and still waiting 5 days later, raised a ticket by email and case closed saying I hadn’t responded when I had sent further information including photos. My advice, don’t buy Ohme as no customer support when things go wrong . Update 16 May: Ohme did respond to contact made via email and after a bit of back and forth agreed to send a replacement unit which has arrived , now waiting for ProEV to do the swap out which is scheduled on 23 May
Was helped by Matt in tech support, good service and understanding of my issues... App is a bit pants but in time hopefully it will improve...
Highly recommend the products and services they produce. Always productive and pleasant to work with and a preferred supplier of DEV Installations.
I've had the Ohme home pro paired with intelligent octopus for about 3 months now. Can't fault it. Cheap charging any time of day so long as you give it warning and allow it to "smart charge" on one of your schedules. I'm using a car without API support and it works a treat. Unlike other reviewers I have found their email support to be very responsive, usually same day replies and don't seem to use canned answers. Even before I was a customer I asked for some information on the dimensions for the mounting holes so I could make a post, they replied quickly with the info I was after.
Bought the Home Pro charger through Octopus installed on 20/12/22. Totally unreliable when charging my RAV4 PHEV. I have tried every setting suggested by the technical team but it does not work reliably. They have now stated that the charger is working as spec and the fault lies with the EV! Laughable really as the car charges perfectly on public chargers and the Toyota supplied 13 amp charge cable. Have asked for full refund from Octopus but their Customer Service team is not much better. Sadly I’ll have to go legal I guess. I would not recommend Ohme under any circumstances.
This company do not take complaints seriously. They insist their charger has not caused my home electrical problems however I had no issues with my electrics before their charger was fitted. Whilst using the charger my microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer died! I am no longer using their charger but an alternative cheaper charger from Screwfix and now have no problem with my home electrics. They do not care about their customers.
My charger went faulty about 3 weeks ago. Ohme Customer Services are rubbish. Cost me a fortune charging publicly since going faulty. Who cares? They clearly don't. I still have no solution.
I have had the charger for about 12 months and it started off working well with the mobile signal but now it seems to disconnect every few days and then won't reconnect. The mobile signal is okay for my phone but obviously the charger seems to need a better signal. There is obviously a fault but customer service is very poor. I would not recommend this product or company as its a great idea with poor support..
Bad Stuff - You need a really good reception at your house for the EV charger to work. My reception is not great, 1 or 2 bars. Smart Meter works, mobile phone ok for calls and data. It was fine for Ohme for 10 months, but then it either connects with 4 out of 5 bars or has no connection at all. I would say 90% time it has no connection. Without the smart functionality, the charger is "dumb" and chargers the car to 100% (not good for the car) and outside the cheap times. Despite having a 3G / 4G reception, Ohme will not give you a refund if the smart capabilities do not work due to the network coverage. Good Stuff - Product screen and look is good - though such a shame you can not set the charger up with a start and finish time (meaning its pretty useless as a dumb charger). The customer services take 3-4 days to reply. They did try to replace the charger but new one still does not hold any connection.
Decent charger - you do have to make sure that your car is charging as sometimes it can stop the charge for no reason, so just keep an eye on the charge
Great service, very professional and quick replies. I would highly recommend
Re-Review. So after the initial issues I faced with the charger, both Ohme and Octopus contacted me and were in regular contact to have it resolved at the soonest opportunity. It has now been working solid for around a week and it's great! I think I was just unlucky and had a bad unit, which goes with any tech! Definitely recommend!
Charger points left in unsafe positions engineer was rude and unhelpful damaged brick work refused to move charger to a safe position unless I paid for it would not recommend. My son was hurt by the position the charger unit was left in jutting from the wall. Avoid at all costs.
Full of bugs. Max charging doesn't work. Support are useless. Look elsewhere for an EV charger
AVOID. Zero Stars. Highly unreliable charger. Replaced the charger 3 times in 2 years. Usual blame game between car manufacturer, electrician and Ohme. Ohme is always the final reason. They do not accept their fault straightaway. Don't get stuck with this charger, the total warranty is 3 years, they are more likely to fail.
Customer service hopeless Emailed the help desk, they replied to the wrong customer, when I did get a reply they hadn't read my question and blamed the fault on my equipment. I hadn't suggested I had a fault. But I can see which way the wind blows if you did have a problem.
Absolutely fabulous aftersales service from these guys for my bespoke request. Can wholeheartedly recommend.
I've had the ohme charge cable for a month now and I'm not impressed, I've got the commando to type 2 cable. The thing that let's it down is the app, and the price you pay for the smart box on the cable isn't worth it just go for a straight cable with the connections you need.
Extremely quick to reply to queries, clear and concise answers to the questions which enabled me to fix the issue in minutes.
Ohme sent me several emails confirming my installation for 22nd February. They then sent me an invoice with installation date of 22nd February. I paid the invoice. Waited on the 22nd of February and no one showed up. I emailed to ask why and was told there had been an error and my installation was booked for 22nd March. I had aligned the delivery of my electric vehicle with the installation date in February. Ohme have left me with an electric vehicle I can't charge. I've been told 'there is nothing Ohme can do - use public charging.' Avoid this company.
Don’t act on or take customer issues wit charger seriously
The Ohme charger is a great device and their customer support is extremely responsive in the app, by email and on twitter. This has saved me so much money by allowing me to schedule charging at cheap rates! Saves me about £1 per day!
Terrible service and completely unreliable. Placed an order over a month ago and never received any contact to arrange an installation despite me emailing customer service multiple times. Now they are not returning my money.
Incredibly helpful staff - I was confused about setting up the app and Lily patiently answered everyone of my questions and guided me in general.
I've had an OHME Smart Cable for a while now and it is absolutely brilliant, it has revolutionised how I charge my car and has saved me a huge amount. I've paired the cable with Octopus Agile and Go tariffs so I can see the best times to charge the car. I have to comment on the outstanding customer service I've also received. I'm changing my car shortly and it has a different type of EV charger to my cable. I contacted them and asked if they sold an adaptor, which they don't, but they agreed to have a look at changing the plug on my cable, which I very much appreciated. Even better than that they have agreed to swap my cable as it's in such good condition! Truly outstanding customer service going above and beyond what is required, thank you OHME. Keep up the great work.
