We contacted Nick about the fitting of an EV charger on our home, Nick and the team came out and run through our options, the team we’re knowledgeable and more thank helpful. Nick and the team came out to fit the charger without any issues, explained the charging process and set everything up for us and left the everything clean and tidy, would highly recommend Parkin Electrical Services to anyone and Nick will be my first point of call for any future electrical work.

I had a problem with my alarm. Nick came out within 10 minutes. He did a temporary fix, but I asked him to do something more permanent as I knew there was a bigger problem. He said he would source the parts and come back once he had them. He came back about 10 days later and fixed everything.. he did a great job, tidied up well and I would recommend him - in fact I have already done so.

My brother suffers from dementia and i live 200 miles away. His carers contacted me as various electrical faults were causing him grief. I engaged Nick via the internet and he attended at very short notice and identified the problems. In a matter of a few days a new consumer unit was fitted and an induction hob repaired. In addition, in order to replace an immersion heater element, Nick contacted a plumber who is in the process of sorting that and a number of related plumbing problems. Professional, friendly and helpful team. Recommended.

Needed an electrical safety certificate at fairly short notice to be able to host Ukranian refugees. Nick was able to come later same day and discovered the earthing wasn't adequate. We live on a lane without earthing through the electricity supply cable. He was able to send part of his team back the same week with earthing rod to remedy this and retest and issue the certificate we needed in good time. All who attended were polite, friendly and tidy and as far as I can tell did a good neat job.

Had Nick install a CCTV system to my house with 3 cameras. These have been working as expected and added a sense of security to my home. 2 security lights also fitted and working well. Only issue with cctv is since clocks went forward there is no way of changing this on my app so will have to wait until the end of summer time. This is a system issue and not a problem with Nick who I would use again in the future.

Nick and his team were amazing. He helped us with our move, moving the EV charger and changing some older electrics in our newly bought cottage. He kept communication and was really efficient. We now have him on speed dial!🤣 If you need a brilliant electrician he's your man.🤩

Very poor communication. Long waits for messages that are repeatedly difficult to understand. Ultimately received a text message two minutes *after* they were due to start to say that the previous job - at least a 40 minute drive away - was overrunning and asking to postpone to next week.

Nick does good minimally disruptive work at a very reasonable price.

Fuse box fitted well, but rubbish disposed of under my floorboards and in my bin without it being bagged which meant I had to empty and clean it. Some of the plug sockets not level even when I use the screws to adjust them. Corner of a wall taken off to move one socket which could have been avoided and would have made replastering much easier.

Needed a PAT test urgently, Parkin Electrical were very understanding and booked me in within 24 hours. Arrived on site, conducted the test and sent the certificates over promptly. Very friendly, explained the process as they were doing it. Found my go-to electrician!

Replaced original burglar alarm with updated version - exactly what I wanted rather than paying excessively for a new system. Good communication - great service

Nick is a lovely and professional electrician. He has done a great job in my father’s property for a full rewire and has been flexible to accommodate extra requests with a smile and ‘can do’ attitude (even saving us a week before Xmas when we had an issue with a kitchen ceiling collapse and needed a last minute electrician). He works alongside trusted tradespeople Simon and Keira who have been brilliant with plastering/painting and handy work. No hesitations to call upon their services in future. My only point of development for Nick’s business, would be to hire someone to overlook all the customer comms and admin, as he’s so busy. 5 stars and a big thank you

In my view any review should be accurate and reflect honestly the work done - reviews should also be of help to potential future customers in choosing a tradesman I chose Nick and his team to complete a rewire of an empty house on the basis of other reviews and also based on the fact that, when I met him, he came across as knowledgeable, obliging and sincere. On that basis, I commissioned Nick to complete the rewire and, at the request of Nick, I posted an initial review that was overwhelmingly positive when the work was completed. Nick quoted competitively, arrived when he said he would and essentially completed the rewire as scheduled. It was only when I went in to decorate that I found some significant flaws. A socket that had existed in a room was left with wires exposed and found later not to have been reinstated. There had been a pair of matching lights in the conservatory but, when Nick and his team left, they had only wired to one and again left what were now redundant wires exposed in the wall. Other issues related to some recycling of old hardware, some incorrect fittings and some hurried repair work even though I had paid an additional fee for plastering / making good. I took photos of the issues I found, sent them to Nick in the hope that he would return to put right particularly the problems relating to what I saw as electrical issues - I had come to terms with the cosmetic issues. In the spirit of being fair, his team did a good job in the main plastering over the walls that had been chased for the wiring; I just suspect that the job had been hurried in the end resulting in me having to spend more time than I should correcting some of the work that had been rushed. My main criticism that has led to me withdrawing my original review has been the number of times I have had to chase up the issues outlined. I wanted to get on with decorating the house and if remedial work was to require work I wanted that done first. I fully accept that any professional tradesman can make mistakes and oversights in their day to day work. My original review would have stood if Nick had replied promptly and returned within a week or two to put matters right. I struggle to accept, however, that the customer should have to chase up time and time again. Two of Nick’s team did eventually return some 6 weeks later by which time I had almost written off any hope. Some remedial work was done on the day but, where wiring had been left exposed and redundant, it was now too late to do anything about it without more disruption to the plasterwork. To finish, I have no doubt that Nick is an extremely competent electrician (and a decent guy); where he did encounter problems his experience came to the fore and he found practical solutions. The electrical installation was completed and in the main done to a good standard with the exceptions outlined above. It is just a shame that, having paid in good faith, the after care was in my opinion less than satisfactory

Called Nick with an emergency, came promptly, made us safe and arranged to come back to upgrade our house electrics. True to word came as arranged and full house and garage rewire completed by his team in 3 days. Polite staff, excellent service would definitely recommend.

Contacted Nick following 3 other electricians failing to work out issue causing voltage on gas pipes. Nick worked out issue just from looking at some photos he asked me to send. He was honest about his availability but still offered a timely appointment for which he turned up (unlike many others) and on time. Very responsive to calls and messages, again, unlike most others. Installed new earth rod and tested everything was good; tidy and clean work, only took him about an hour and charged fairly. Will definitely use again!

I had an issue with my fuse board repeatedly tripping and couldn’t figure out why. Nick came out twice on short notice to investigate and get everything working again. He was friendly, polite, and helpful. Really appreciated his prompt response and professionalism — I wouldn’t hesitate to use him again or recommend him to others.

Nick came out at short notice and was able to fix our lighting problem in the warehouse (which held us back from working). Nick quickly and efficiently fixed the lights without any problems, meaning we could carry on with our daily tasks.

Had this 2 man team come to fit extractor fan , simply fit to wall and plug in , the electrical socket was already in place so no elecrical work was necessary , the product was installed with the wrong size venting pipe so as a result I had all the bad cooking odours and steam not venting outside but back into the kitchen and worse still into the electrical socket which was enclosed in the chimney, I paid for a roofer to fit a venting tile for the appliance beforehand but unfortunately this duo does not have the knowledge to fit a veting pipe to it , so can't rate this company as it was dangerous the work they did for me , l purchased the right pipe plus connectors and fitted the pipe myself as it seems the only way to get a job done properly nowadays is to do the job yourself.

I rang Parkin electrical services and spoke to Nick and told him the problem I'm having and he was able to come out the same day, which was happy about. However, I was charged £85 for him coming out and apparently tightening some loose wire, he was there less than 5 minutes. Also, he is local to me. I asked him for an invoice, and to this day, I've not received any invoice. I stupidly made the payment and never heard back from him. Despite him saying he will come back to check the sockets and that would have cost £140. I messaged him a few days later as the issue was still there and got no reply. I then rang him a few days later and he answered and said he's on a job and will ring me in an hour, still waiting for his call back over 2 weeks later. Since then I've had another electrican come out who charged me £50 and he came from Sheffield and this electrican actually spent time finding out what the fault was. And has come out this weekend to rectify the fault. Lesson learnt, never pay without an invoice and if the fault hasn't been found. Really disappointed in Nick as I thought he knew what he was talking about but clearly not. Wouldn't recommend.

I got in contact with Nick from Parkin Electrical Service as I needed a hard wired appliance switched to a regular socket. He was able to fit me in a couple of days after I contacted him. When he turned up it took him about 5 minutes to complete the switch over which means I can now have my new washing machine plumbed in. Really quick, efficient service from a properly nice professional. I’ll definitely use him again if I need any other electricals sorted.

I'll start by saying what an Amazing experience we had with this company!! We've just moved into a house that not only needed a full rewire but a lot of knocking down and building up walls. A lot of ideas but no 'real' plan for the electrics. Nick came and looked round, took on board everything we wanted and made it happen and more. Great experience. Spotlights fitted throughout house. Installed with care as house was fully furnished. Quote included decorating and managed a deal on the slightly more expensive spotlights. Prompt to respond with turning up on time and cleaning up afterwards. Knowledgeable about fire safety as existing fittings weren't compliant. Also installed an induction hob. Used plastic sheeting to cover stairs and furniture. Very pleased with the work.

Came straight away when others ignored my request or said they were far too busy. We have sixteen down lights in a very large kitchen, they are operated buy multiple switches. All the lights had failed and none of the switches were functioning.. Within a few minutes Nick had discovered the problem, a broken wire on one switch and a burnt out wire on another. After fitting a new switch and giving a thorough check on the rest of the lighting circuits everything was working perfectly. A thorough and professional job all round from the team.

Rang late at 8pm, as we had an emergency and no electric in the house due to chewed wires from our rabbit and as we put the new Ethernet cable in that she had chewed through, it must have knocked another wire that was chewed, causing the electric to trip and not be able to turn back on, We were talked though what to do over the phone, very patiently and we managed to find the problem and get it all sorted, Excellent service and will definitely use again:)

He turned up at my address and installed quickly and professionally, he was polite and courteous at all times. Complete waist of time made arrangements to come do the job Friday lunch time never showed up never contacted us after a message from myself to him at gone 3pm to see what was happening he decided to message asking if he could book me in for Monday after spending all morning moving furniture so he could access the sockets and lights to do the work and making alternative arrangements to have my kids picked up from school along side taking time off work to have the work done just had my time waisted by him been a no show and not even the decency to make contact to say he is wasnt coming

We had trouble with our security alarm going off in the night. We were left with no security alarm as our regular installer failed to respond to our calls for 3 weeks. We chose Parkin Electrical after looking at many reviews. Nick responded immediately and very quickly diagnosed the fault. He fitted a new census in the conservatory and we have not had any more false alarms! He is a very friendly and obliging man and we were certainly very impressed with his efficiency. I contacted Nicholas, after try to get a local firm out to no avail at the start of a holiday weekend My electric had a major fault and kept knocking the main fuse out. Nicholas came over on the bank holiday Sunday and isolated the fault, after checking other wiring he recommend a rewire. I asked him if he could do it for us, He said he was rather busy and it might be a while. When he realised my husband was on palliative care, he arranged to do the job as soon as he could. He started the next week, He and his team working with as little disruption as possible in a most professional and caring way to limit the stress for my husband.
