Lloyd Electrical (Cornwall) received positive feedback from several reviewers. Multiple reviewers describe the work as great or outstanding, and several say they would recommend the business. Two reviewers call the pricing competitive, and one says it is fairly priced. One reviewer reports that Gary came out the next day to fix a light fitting, while another says he went above and beyond. One reviewer reports a serious dispute: they say the first fix did not follow the original utility plan, that communication stalled, and that they were left to pursue the matter with building control and a claim for damage and correction costs.
Plans were sent to you on 24th May 2023 clearly showing all the positions of utility items which are as standard 600mm wide (hobs, cookers, ovens, cupboards) claiming you don’t know this or that it is not confirmed with you is a poor statement. We agreed to pay £2000 for the garages and I paid you £1000 for the first fix on 6th July 2023. The first fix was carried out on 9th June 2023. Building regs then stopped the build which I confirmed with you. Various work was done at my house which I paid £1850 for between 5th July 2023 & 23rd September 2024. I paid a further £1800 on 9th October 2024 for work done to our home. On 28th August 2025 I asked you to come back and help with the garage and you did not reply. I continues messaging you until 2nd September 2025 as I started to discover the utility plan had not been followed as we started to plasterboard the building having been given the green light from building control. This is 2 years since starting the first fix and only 10 months since you were last at my home with Jack. I started pleading for your help to identify key issues on 3rd September 2025 through to 10th March 2026 as everything was becoming crucial and received minimal & slow replies from you. I waited patiently for you to come and confirm what had been done and how to accommodate this into the builders schedule. It became desperate by early May 2026 and after chasing you it was confirmed you would come and help identify issues we are unable to understand. You didn’t reply. On 2nd June 2026 after 14 messages you said you were in fact on holiday in Greece. I gave you an opportunity at this point and after experiencing such reluctance that if you didn’t want to honour the job to let me know, you replied with ‘we will honour the job’ On 10th June you came over and looked at what had been done and it became obviously to you that your wiring was not in line with the original plan. On 18th June 2026 you came over and added missing wires to the staircase, tried to locate wires in the garage ceiling for spotlights and in my opinion realised how far you were from the original plan that was it was starting to become an issue and something you didn’t want to put right, finish or continue with. From that point onwards you didn’t communicate correctly, were not upfront in your communication and failed to reply in any decent way towards the job continuation. You didn’t say you were not going to continue, you just stalled me and declined to answer any communication or answer the phone. The issues we have here is that however good your reputation might be, the building inspector yesterday has seen the issues for themselves and the electrical plan which was issues to you BEFORE the job started. This affecting the plumber who is a neighbour of yours and has their own questions for you based on what’s been done and what was on the plan. The builders whom you said were incorrect about your wires in the garage were indeed correct and you were mistaken about your own work. I communicated very clearly on the damages to the walls, induction hob, sink and holes in ceilings done by Jack as part of Lloyds Electrical, I communicated the same day and Jack has confirmed it was himself that did these things. I am giving you the chance to put this right before handing the emails, texts and communication records along with build reg officer report to trading standards, and issue a CC Claim for the replacement costs of the damaged items along with the costs of a new electrician examining the work done, putting it right in order to be able to sign of the work at the end. These costs are: £1000 paid upfront for first fix costs of garage. £1250 for replacement induction hob – Fisher & Pykal. £2500 for replacement sink from Lefroy Brooks. £200 for repairs to damaged light sockets in our home. £480 for an electrician to undo, examine and put right incorrect wiring in line with architects plan. I will issue this on Monday 24th August 2026. Regards Richard
Called up Gary for problem with a light fitting. Not too much trouble to come out and fix it the next day. Professional and fairly priced. Would recommend and would use his service again.
Great Electrician. Goes above and beyond for clients. Competitively priced and give good advice. Highly recommended 👍
The work that this chap does is outstanding. He’s competitively priced and cares about his clients. Just wish he was less popular lol
