P D Electrical

PD Electricial organised one of their electricians to come out at very short notice on a Saturday to fix the lights in our holiday let. They were very efficient, explained the problem very clearly and fixed the issue. Would highly recommend!

Got PD electrical to fit a couple of video doorbells. Really happy with the work. They did a great job fitting the doorbells and kept me informed throughout the whole process, explaining everything clearly and providing all the information I needed - it was all a bit more complicated then it should have been due to the eccentricities of the house. Reliable, professional and would definitely recommend them.

Paul was extremely helpful when we were trying to choose which EV charger to purchase - his explanations re use of our solar panels v the grid were very clear and made me finally understand how chargers work with panels. He always answered e mails/ texts quickly and is an absolute mine of information! Ryan who fitted the charger was also really helpful and thorough. Thankyou both

Paul, Kenny and Ryan did a fantastic job. Very thorough and professional. Really pleased with the results, and tidied and cleaned up after themselves. We'll definitely be using them again.

Paul, ably assisted by Callum, installed a cooker hood and ducting. This involved core drilling through thick walls. They protected the kitchen from dust, worked carefully and precisely, cleaned up afterwards and did an excellent job all round. I was kept informed at all stages of the job from quotation to completion and he was always punctual. No complaints.

Paul was super organised from the first meeting to review the work we required through to the 2 appointments on site and the ultimate issue of our legal certification. I 100% recommend him

Amazing! Would highly recommend. Came out within the hour and stayed until he found the fault( very old electrics) vey friendly and helpful 👍

Our old fusebox needed replacing and bringing up to modern standards as we had new rooms added and growing needs in the household. We also wanted a way to completely shut down non-essential electrical circuits overnight, saving energy and reducing the amount of electrical interference as we sleep. Paul and the PD Electrical team listened carefully and provided a great solution – a “kill switch” that could give a late-night closedown, whilst keeping essential circuits separated and active overnight.

Excellent out of hours service. Would highly recommend Paul.

Always use PD Electrical for all electrical work . Service is excellent.Always do a neat job ,engineers all very pleasant, knowledgeable, reliable and helpful.Cost is reasonable as well.

From the very first call with Paul at PD Electrical right through to the job being finished, the service was excellent. He was friendly, clear, and took the time to explain everything in detail so I fully understood what was needed. No question was too much trouble, and he gave straightforward, confident answers every step of the way. The work itself was carried out with great care and professionalism, and he highlighted a few potential issues that may need attention in the future, even providing a prompt and fair quote for those. Paul’s knowledge and expertise really stood out, which gave me complete confidence in the work being done. My main problem was the fuse box constantly tripping and cutting power to several circuits at once. Paul recommended upgrading to a modern RCBO consumer unit, which has been the perfect solution — now each circuit is individually protected. This has made a huge difference, especially as I work from home and can’t afford interruptions to my computer equipment. The new setup gives me real peace of mind knowing everything is up to date, safe, and reliable. I hadn’t even heard of an RCBO before, but now I wouldn’t want to be without one. I’d happily use PD Electrical again and highly recommend Paul for anyone needing a trustworthy, knowledgeable electrician.

I recently hired P D Electrical to help wire my rental property's kitchen and install linked smoke alarms, and I couldn't be more pleased with their work. From start to finish, the contractor was professional, reliable, and provided a great price for the services rendered. What impressed me the most about this contractor was how personable and pleasant they were to the people renting the property (pensioners who were nervous about letting people in). They took the time to explain the work that needed to be done, answered any questions the tenants had, and were very patient throughout the entire process. The work itself was completed to a very high standard, with great attention to detail. The contractor made sure to leave the property clean and tidy after the job was finished, which I appreciated. The linked smoke alarms they installed have already given me peace of mind knowing that my tenants are safer and better protected in case of a fire. Overall, I highly recommend P D Electrical for any wiring or electrical needs. They provide quality work, excellent customer service, and fair prices. I will definitely be using their services again in the future.

I had issues with my fuse-box tripping and was losing about 8 circuits every time, I got Paul round and he advised on a new RCBO consumer unit, which turned out to be the perfect solutions as we now have individual circuit protection. I work from home on the computer a lot and to been having power interruption is just no good for my business. I now have peace of mind knowing its all upgrading, updated and protected. I didn't have a clue what an RCBO was but I now know its a MUST have.

Very efficient service. Checked for faults and did EICR the same day. Tenant s happy

I was initially a bit suspicious about all these amazing reviews but decided to get in touch. Within 6 days the work had been completed to an excellent standard. Really good communication throughout, can't recommend Paul and his team enough. Thank you!

Great service. Really good communication. Paul called me back with in an hour. The issue was resolved and fixed with in 24hrs.

After waiting six weeks for an engineer to turn up from Ohme or Octopus to fit an EV Charger, I decided to try a local company. Paul came on the afternoon of my call , and provided me with an estimate for installing a EV Charger and upgrading my Electric fuse box. Four days later Charlie & Ryan attended and completed both jobs. The quality of their work was first class, and at a better price than my previous estimates! An excellent company I strongly recommend!

Was great service and would highly recommend PD electrical. So impressed they were quick to respond and get the issue fixed.

New works in August 2025, ONce again we have used Paul to sort out some electrical issues with our outside lights. This was done promptly and with care excellent work completed by Ken. What is notable is the cleaning up after all the work. Can't be faulted. We first met Paul when he installed new light fittings for a plumbing concern at our house. We asked him to look at our consumer units and upgrade and modify the installation. He came and we had the quotation the next day ( we found this so refreshing having been let down by others). He and his team turned up on time worked professionally and safely. When they had finished they checked all the circuits over and complied a report that we had very shortly afterwards. As a bonus (for us any rate) they cleaned everything up and took all their detritus away with them. Since then Paul has installed a EV charger for us with he same degree of professionalism. Michael Johns

PD Electrical went above and beyond to replace a light fitting for my elderly, hard of hearing Mother. They were very patient with her and did a great job at a good price. I would highly recommend.

Very efficient, friendly service at a reasonable price. Would highly recommended.

Excellent standard of work, a very professional and efficient team. Arrived on time and got straight on with the job. Will definitely be using PD Electrical again.

Paul and his team were very efficient and reliable. They resolve our issue quickly and communication was smooth and transparent. They were also very nice, polite and left everything tidy and neat.

The PD Electric guys arrived promptly and did an excellent job. They were very careful in protecting our new countertop and handled our huge dome lights the same way. They efficiently converted the lights to LED and reinstalled with precision and care. They also advised us with patience and kindness on other jobs we are planning. Highly recommend PD Electric.

Excellent service from quote to completion. Very reliable, and hard working. Would highly recommend Paul and his Team.

Paul connected my new oven and hob to the electrical supply. He arrived promptly and completed the required work quickly and cleanly. Excellent work and good value. I would highly recommend PD Electrical.

Paul tested all of the portable appliance at my cookery school. Very quick and thorough, good value, and a nice chap too!

Had an issue with my heating and was recommended PD Electricals…I was impressed by the reliable, quick, efficient and excellent service. Would definitely recommend and use again.

We were much relieved when we had a complete power failure and on sending an SOS to Paul, Ken appeared on our doorstep in no time. He sorted our problem out so quickly and efficiently - he noticed other electrical shortcomings and was charming company. Altogether a pleasant experience and at a good price. I strongly recommend dependable P D Electrical.

You'll have no worries engaging with PD Electrical. The service was second to none, we were kept up to date with the work and it was all completed on time and on budget. Nothing was too much trouble for these guys. Would highly recommend...

I needed an electrician to install a new oven and hob for my wife in our kitchen together with some exterior points and lighting on the patio. All the electricians I had previously contacted were either too busy or just didn't bother to turn up to give me a quote. As a last ditch attempt I found PD Electrical in a local magazine and contacted them. Paul came to see me the same day, and I received a quote that evening which I accepted. The work was started early the following week and was completed within two days. I can't recommend this company enough the standard of workmanship was extremely high and very cost effective. Paul and his team are always on hand for friendly advice and are in regular contact with the latest innovations via email.

Had Paul come out to my home and fit a new cooker for me he was polite and extremely helpful and even disposed of the packaging for my new item was very happy with the service I recieved, was a very reasonable price aswell. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting any electric works. :D

Paul offers an efficient and professional service. Great communication and reliable.

Excellent job all round Friendly, professional, and reliable Paul and Charlie couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful They turned up when they said they would , did a great job and were very neat and tidy too I highly recommend P D Electrical 😊👍

Paul and Charlie from PC Electrical (Ilfracombe) have just fitted a battery storage unit to connect to our previously fitted solar panels. Paul has been excellent throughout the job assessment, quote and completion of the supply and fitting. Paul's communication skills are exceptional and he backs this up with skilled and very tidy work at exactly the time & day he promises, together with patient & reliable availability after the fitting, leaving us confident of dependable service in the future. We would certainly recommend this business. Review edit January 2025- having had occasion to rely on Paul's after sales services I agree with his claims for customer care and reliability, Paul can be totally trusted to deliver as promised.

Paul is an extremely reliable electrician who has done a lot of different electrical work for us at home both interior and exterior. The team of guys he has working for him are equally as good. They work efficiently and importantly to me, are tidy and always respectful of our home. I cannot recommend Paul Dunn Electric more highly.

I have used Paul a few times and also recommended him to others. I have always found his service excellent and will definitely be using again. On this occasion I wanted my meter to be moved to a more appropriate place. Paul arranged an appointment quickly with me to discuss the work and sent through the quote stating what had been discussed. The work was planned in swiftly and the engineer was on time, friendly and efficient. The engineer carried out all necessary work to a high standard and left the area clean and tidy. The documentation required for the work was sent promptly. Thank you so much for the service provided.

I can't praise Paul Dunn and his team highly enough. We needed a lot of work done to comply with new electrical regulations. Paul came to assess the job the day after we enquired, sent a quote the day after that and started the work within a week. Very different from a previous experience with an electrician - long wait to get the job done and not done efficiently. Paul and his team did everything perfectly. We will use him in future for any electrical jobs.

Outstanding service following a recommendation. Paul moved my ev charger from my address to my new address. He gave me confirmed date and times and stuck to them. His communication was excellent. Furthermore, having just moved we needed new light fittings and Paul kindly carried out the work the same day instead of leaving us without the new fittings. I would without reservation highly recommended him.

We had a fantastic experience using PD Electrical. He answered the phone right away and booked us in for his next available time and came to us on a Sunday morning. Very quick and efficient, highly recommend using PD Electrical.

I have used Paul and his team twice now and couldn’t recommend them enough! They go above and beyond at all times and nothing is too much. Their customer service is impeccable and you feel they really value your custom. It’s very rare to find such amazing service. I wouldn’t go anywhere else and recommend to everyone I know! Thank you PD team :)

What a wonderful experience having an electrician with a"nothing is too much trouble" attitude. Paul came on time completed the job even though delays forced him to return a number times ( not his fault). Polite, tidy would recommend him without questions.

After loosing power at 11pm on Saturday evening Paul of PD electrical was one of the only electricians to answer my call and attended within the hour, found the fault and got my plugs and lights back on that night. He then returned Monday morning as agreed to replace the faulty cable that had caused the original problem. Reasonably priced, very friendly and most importantly very reliable. Would definitely recommend.

Refreshing, turned up when he said he would & did the job when he said he would. Changed a light on a holiday let for me - Job well done. Definitely use again!

The biggest problem in North Devon is finding reliable tradespeople. Paul Dunn of PD Electrical does exactly what he says he’s going to do. Arrives on time, quotes for the job (no estimate or day rate nonsense), then sends a professional colleague to do the job to a very high standard. This is what I said to Paul…..’We’re delighted we are with what Ken has done for us. He's thorough, professional, extremely knowledgeable and tidy plus he's spends time explaining what he's done and how he's done it. He's very conscientious and wants to get the job done 100% correctly. On top of all that he's a total gentleman and a credit to your reputation. Thank you again. Greg.’

Paul came to our house yesterday and was great from the start. Turned up on time, dust sheets down, protective plastic down and a job successfully completed with all holes patched and primed like new. Best electrician we’ve ever had to the house, highly recommended.

Needed an electrician for a tripping switch called pd electrical came next day at the time agreed job sorted Had a quote for another job was booked in on a day and time that worked for us Pd electrical turned up done the job very professional everything was left clean and tidy rubbish taken away PD ELECTRICAL highly recommended

Paul has been our electrician since 2017. He responds quickly whenever we need help with large or small jobs and maintenance like today. PD Electrical have also assisted us down the years with a complete house renovation and rewire, overcoming challenges along the way. Furthermore, Paul also worked hard to provide my elderly parents with a wet room and other adaptations for their home. He and his team are always friendly, competent and reliable, which is very much appreciated. Many thanks again Paul.

Great Service. Polite, on time and cleared up after themselves. I can't fault them.

Paul and his team have given me friendly and professional service over several years. They offer practical and costed alternative solutions to problems and carry out agreed work promptly and without fuss.

I contacted Paul on Friday, small job. Socket was fixed next day. Very professional 👍

I have been paying for home emergency insurance for many years, and at a time when I needed to use their services I was let down. The sockets tripped, and this could not be rectified by myself, and was kept waiting all yesterday for an engineer, only to receive a call this morning informing me to there are no engineers working in this area, and can I find one myself and then they will reimburse me!! So having been kept waiting for nearly 24 hours I contacted Paul who left home immediately to come and have a look. It turns out this definitely required an experienced electrician, and with some detective work this has now been fixed, and I am so grateful for the speedy response and service. Paul was an absolute gem, kind, courteous and efficient having received a call 8am Sunday morning. I shall be recommending Paul to anyone who asks, and his phone number is firmly fixed in my contacts. Many thanks, I really appreciate and value and service received today.

P D Elecrical has done several jobs for me. They have all been completed speedily and very effectively. There have been no problems.

I contacted Paul on a Sunday afternoon by email and by Monday lunchtime the job was done and completed. Excellent customer service. Cannot recommend PD Electrical highly enough

I believe in giving credit when it's due. We have been nothing but impressed with the sheer professionalism and attention to detail you and your business show, From being on time/early for appointments to the mass of pre installation information, the quality and friendliness of your employees, the price, the job itselfand the after payment details and ofc the package which delighted my mother in law.

We had an issue with main fuse blowing. Paul was wonderful pulling up floor boards and checking sockets. He sorted it promptly and at a very reasonable price. Would recommend him always

I had 2 double sockets chased in, one outside double socket and brand new compliant fuse box. The 2 lads who attended were happy and polite, they did a really brilliant job and took care to clean up afterwards. The overall cost for the work was really great value for the high standard service and work. I can't recommend enough for a pain free quote and solution.

I needed a tiny job doing fast - ceiling light. P D Electrical booked a great appointment time with me, turned up on time and carried the work out perfectly. Very happy with all the work they've done for me so far. 2 jobs and counting! See you all soon!

My previous experiences of getting the service I needed had been difficult and took a long time to get responses. Paul responded immediately and got the work done in record time. It was a refreshing change to deal with such a friendly and efficient company. I was really happy with the end result and have no hesitation in recommending PD Electrical to anyone needing a professional service that is fast and efficient.

Having been let down by other electricians who either didn't respond or were apparently too busy, I was very impressed with Paul's responses to requests for quotes. He isn't cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. He's installed a cooker hood, a replacement bathroom extractor fan and redirected its exit to a more efficient location, separated a light and extractor fan in an en suite, and installed a replacement electric doorbell. He leaves everything clean and tidy. I'm really pleased with Paul's standard of work.

Great tradesmen. Turned up when agreed and completed work as agreed. Good experience.

Excellent service. Thoughtful solutions to my problem. One lowered modern fuse board with emergency lighting.

We had a faulty socket curcuit which had not popped the circuit breaker. Paul and colleague quickly worked thei way around the house to identify the fault , repaired and upgraded some sub standard wiring, tidied up and left. The fault was serious enough to cause a fire if left uncured.

I chose PD Electrical purely on the strength of their Google Reviews. I have had various electricians over the years, but this time wanted someone with stellar reputation. Paul called round for a chat and to assess the requirement. It was only a few switches and lights, but he took time to document what was needed and also ask a few other questions to help him understand the setup in my home. I then received a quote for the work, which was reasonable and accompanied by a very thorough, helpful guides to how PD work and key things I should know. Paul had also left a book of client testimonials which was a very nice touch, something I had never seen before. Charlie from PD arrived on time to carry out the work, he was polite, cheerful and a pleasure to have in the house (this has not always been the case with previous contractors!) Everything was completed to agreed spec and care was taken throughout not to leave any mess or cause disruption. I chatted with Paul about our fusebox and some other requirements and he gave me considered, helpful responses which encouraged me to return in future for additional works. My day job involves encouraging my clients to "go the extra mile" for their customers and it was great to see this in action with Paul. Highly recommended, well done!

We are very impressed by Paul of PD Electrical. All of our power went out late on a Friday. We really thought we would be without heat, hot water, etc., for the weekend. Due to medical reasons this would be a serious issue. We spoke to Paul, and even though he had another job to go to, he was around within 20 minutes and sorted out our problem immediately. He wasn't aware of the health issues at the time and how urgent this was, so his promptness really impressed us! Paul is extremely professional, but on top of that, he was conscientious about our health circumstances upon his arrival and went out of his way to accommodate us. Paul will be our electrician of choice from now on.

I always use Paul and his team when I need electrical work doing as I am always very happy with the service and the work. Always very clean and conscientious and explain the work and how things are progressing all the way through. Always quick to come out and nothing is too much trouble. At the end of one job I was very impressed to have my floor cleaned up to remove their footprints as it had been raining so cleanliness was superb. I would highly recommend Paul and his company.

Paul came out promptly to quote and returned within the next few days to fit several challenging light fittings, nothing was too much trouble. He was on time, helpful and polite, and got the job done efficiently. Would highly recommend.

Excellent and professional service and would recommend PD Electrical to anyone.

Very experienced electrician, excellent service and pricing always good. I would highly recommend P D Electrical

PD Electrical is a really efficient and well run company. They work out detailed quotes and book specific dates and times for the work to be carried out.The electricians are reliable and do a great job. It is a pleasure to find a company that is so reliable and does excellent work. I thoroughly recommend them for any job large or small.

I engaged the firm to conduct an Electrical Installation Condition Report. They professionally tested both the house and garage circuits over four hours and then went through their findings with me. The certificate was received by email just a few days later. This is the second time that I have used them and I recommend them to others. The director Paul is most obliging, helping to advise you with what you need, and will provide you with a quote for works before commencing. A reliable NICEIC trader.

Paul & his team recently undertook the electrical work on our new gym. We couldn’t have asked for a better service, the guys were absolutely brilliant, professional and ensured they had everything completed in time for our business to open. We had a last minute wiring job pop up and they made the time to get it done so we could avoid delaying our opening. We have an expansion in the next 6months so will definitely be contacting Paul to work with us on this too.

Paul is only a phone call away. He has been our ‘go to’ man for electrical help with our holiday home. Trust him and he team 110%. Would recommend his company.

We needed help and as usual Paul told us he could be with us around 3pm and turned up at 2.45pm and he sorted our problem

I have had many jobs for P.D. Electrical the team do a great job and clean up their mess. I had a fan put up in my living room I have had outside sockets fitted and I had my security camera installed. Clean jobs looked good fast service. This company! I just cannot say enough very efficient and reliable. Annette Woosnam

I have used PD electrical several times in the last few years. He responds promptly to messages, he made careful estimates, and he or his team arrived when planned and worked efficiently and effectively to get the job done. Refreshingly professional and very amenable firm to work with. Would not go anywhere else.

Have used PD Electrical a few times now. The staff turn up on time as arranged and stay until the work is done. Really happy with their service and would highly recommend.

I had a shower emergency. Paul quickly sourced and fitted a new shower for me. Neat tidy worker too. Thank you

Paul and he's team are great. On time, Clean, Decent price, and goes that little bit further to ensure he's customers get the best possible service. I have asked him to do a few things around the new house and will continue to call upon him when i need further electric works. Highly recommended!

I have used Paul several times and I am always pleased with the service. He comes promptly and on time and always gives good advice. He recently fixed an issue with the kitchen lights and told me to get a new light fitting and then he would return to fit it. He didn't try to sell me something expensive or something he could take commission on. He is altogether trustworthy and an excellent electrician to boot. I would not recommend any other electrician as highly and I am so happy to have found him.

We were left in the lurch by the electrician who came with the kitchen. Paul did all he could to ensure he and his team did not leave us having to move our kitchen being fitted. The work was done in a professional manner and when they left it was always tidy. Paul and any of his team are always professional and friendly. We will not be using anyone else now.

This company is outstanding. In all my years, I've rarely come across such a speedy, efficient, and diligent electrician. Paul answers enquires almost instantly, he is polite, courteous, and friendly. I had a number of small jobs carried out by a member of his team, the work was of a very high standard and I couldn't believe how quick he was. I was also impressed with how reasonable his prices were. Paul is a stickler for detail and accuracy, all paperwork/certificates sorted immediately. A few weeks later, I had an emergency electrical/plumbing problem at a holiday property...again Paul dropped everything to help straight away. I can't recommend P D Electrical highly enough, the ethos behind this company is refreshingly different from any other electrician I've employed. 5 stars all day long.

We first used PD electrical for a new build, from the quote stage to final fix everything was seamless, they were professional, responsive and did a great job. An excellent service with quick response times and prompt completion of the jobs required

Paul was great, we needed an 'emergency call out' to our holiday let on a Saturday evening. He was at the property within half an hour, found the problem and sorted it. The guests had power restored and could enjoy the rest of their holiday. Thanks for your response Paul, I would recommend and use you again.

Very impressed with this company. Paul came to see what I needed to be done and gave me a quote the same evening, then was able to book in the work promptly. Charlie completed the work, was very polite, helpful and efficient. We highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again. Already passed on information on them to friends who am sure will be in touch with them.

First class service. Look no further you will not find better. Extremely tidy to. I would not use any other.

I would highly recommend Paul. Very efficient and professional

Excellent services provided from start to finish, Paul had to liaise with my solar technician to link into our solar inverters for power to the immersion heater for automatic switching (free hot water now the sun is out) Also wired in an external compressor for our sewage treatment plant. Very professional and at a very good price. I would not hesitate to use there services again, would thoroughly recommend PD Electrical. Nigel
