Reviews

4.5

Most reviewers of Electrix Ltd describe polite and helpful staff and work left clean and tidy, including lighting, an EV charger, a shower and solar panels. One reviewer said a solar system was installed neatly, that day-one issues were fixed quickly and that it has worked well for eight months, though they also said communication could have been better. A separate customer said an EV charger and solar work were done to a high standard. One reviewer rated the company poorly over administration, reporting repeated overdue invoices before work started and inconsistent VAT treatment, while praising the fitter. Another raised detailed complaints about a solar inverter install, which the company disputed.

I have waited a while to leave a review based on my experiences of my solar installation from the team at Electrix earlier in the year. I had been looking at solar for a long time and trying to decide what the best option for the money was, I have spoken to a few companies and either been unconvinced on the offering, the ongoing communication throughout the quote and design phase or felt I was not listened to. We had Mark come out and explained what I wanted, felt listened to and decided to go ahead, which was a bit daunting given the cost of the installation. The installation was great, done well, neatly and a very safe and tidy end result, there were no major issues throughout the project, the team were great, the only slight room for improvement that I could find was the communication could have been slightly better. But my job is all about communicating so I am probably more sensitive to it. Now to the end result, the system has been live for coming up to 8 months now and it has exceeded my expectations, there were a couple of teething issues literally on day 1, but they were all resolved quickly and efficiently, and after the first day I haven’t had any issues at all. Based on my experiences of Electrix I would be happy to recommend them for any solar installation projects

Whilst we believe the electrical work has been carried out effectively by a helpful fitter, the administration was poor with many invoices sent to us chasing payment saying our account was overdue, which started even before the work had been started! Also, the application of vat is inconsistent with some clients paying vat and others exempt for exactly the same work.

I had a problem with my solar inverter and batteries in the loft. A/C cable and plug burnt out, very high risk of fire in the loft. FoxESS sent me details of Electrix LTD. They came out in a month from the problem due to the amount of work on their books. Had the new plug delivered to my address fitted and up and running, had a quote for moving the inverter and batteries into the garage. Agreed with the quote started working on it in a week or so also had a EV charger fitted in the price All done to a high standard. Shame the original fitters didn't do the same. Well done and have peace of mind it's safe.. Very well done 👍.

To Mark, I am writing to raise a concern and a complaint about the installation of my Sunsynk inverter as installed by your engineer. The system was not working on his last visit and you stated he wanted to return to fit a MCB due to the nuisance tripping. An electrician would know this would not have rectified the issue and would have made it worse, as a MCB needs RCD protection and if not resolved would have tripped the RCD and no power to those protected by the RCD. On installing the new fuse box your engineer cut the cables making them too short and had to place the box hanging. I asked if he would be replacing the cables to which his response was you never gave him any cables. Wouldn’t this fall under his responsibility? He did get the system working and I advised him that if he didn’t replace the cables there would be tension on the connections, hence during the night the cable came out and caused another issue with the battery. I decided to contact Sunsynk myself to resolve the issues and get a better understanding of the system, as I informed you I am a trained electrician but no Solar experience, you sent an apprentice to install the system and not fully certified in Solar installer. His experience and knowledge showed, as I communicated with Sunsynk and researched the system, some parameters had been set too high for the type inverter, to which I changed. One example was that he had ticked the generator boxes, we don’t have one and he had set the battery to charge off the grid, give away is Solar power. I explained that we fed back to the grid and yet he set it up as zero export, which still allows some excess back to the grid through our generation meter. I have had to wait the whole quarter of April/May/June to see the results. The solar generation last year was 1055 kwh, fit payment of £811.00. This year the generation was 439kwh, fit payment of £377.00. The difference of £434.00. Once again communicating with Sunsynk, the system should have been set up on Fast Zero Export Mode. Which allows the solar to feed the house and the battery and once the battery is full, export excess back to the grid and the battery discharges overnight. The system is now functioning as in two days there has been a generation, back to the grid of 34 Kwh, a cost value of £25.00. My App also shows this operation correctly. I am seeking a full refund for the installation of £460.00 and the replacement of the fuse box cables due to poor workmanship or compensation of loss of earnings caused by your engineers lack of understanding of £400.00 I will forward emails from EDF as proof of payments. Good Afternoon Simon, I am sorry to have received your email today. I have looked back through our correspondence and have been in touch with Sunsynk. I can see that we tested and inspected your system in 2025 which identified an issue with an isolator, which we replaced. We also replace your inverter under the warrantee which unfortunately did not rectify an issue you had with nuisance tripping. From the email received by you on the 26th of January it looks as though you opted to complete further repair works yourself, setting up an independent support ticket with Sunsynk. rather than incurring additional costs from us. Unfortunately, as we did not complete this works for you, we would be unable to accept your claim for compensation due to your loss of exported generation. AND SO IT WENT ON !!!!!! Since reading your response, i have never read such a load of spurious, vexatious, fabricated nonsense and untruths. So i have added more photos of evidence. irrefutable evidence your unqualified, uncertified engineer didn't program the export setting correctly, photo taken off Sunsynk app and inverter before being rectified by Sunsynk. No carbon or corrosion on batteries terminal connectors, did he get that from the Sunsynk You Tude to replace them to me up. Nothing was discussed with myself apart from your engineer said they needed replacing, he stated they weren't charging properly and showed not testing evidence.
