We chose More Than Lofts for our loft extension after receiving several quotes, and their sales and project management team immediately stood out. They were knowledgeable, offered great advice, and provided a fair, comprehensive quote. As first-time builders, we can’t compare with previous experiences, but friends had told us how professional the More Than Lofts team is. Throughout the project, we received regular updates on the tradespeople, the work being done and what was coming next. A special shout-out to the skill of the carpenters, roofers and bricklayers. All the team were hardworking, friendly, professional and tidy. It was great to hear that many of them are local and have been with the company for years, which really speaks to the quality and slickness of the team. As with all builds we had a few problems along the way, but Stacy/Ian and team went above and beyond to resolve. Thank you. We wanted a loft that complemented our home’s character, not just a generic box and they listened, delivering exactly what we wanted. We’re more than impressed with our loft from More Than Lofts! We have our new loft room! It’s absolutely stunning thanks to the hard work of staff at More Than Lofts. We found MTL when we noticed signs up locally by the firm. Justin, very friendly and polite, was the first person we met and after our meeting and initial consultation and quotation we started our project. The communication is done via WhatsApp group chat which is super helpful. Both my partner and I could follow what was happening. The contract was carried out to the letter and the payment schedule was followed through properly. Jade, the admin lady is very helpful with any questions, clear and great on communication. Their carpenters, electricians, decorators, roofers, plumbers and the whole team is polite and clean. They turn up on time and every day. I could not praise them enough. We wanted to extend our house rather than deal with the costs and uncertainties of moving somewhere new. Having used More Than Lofts 7 years ago for a loft conversion, and being very pleased with the quality of the build, we asked them for quote for a kitchen extension, including building a downstairs WC and a separate garden room. The price fell well within our budget and the dream of having a new kitchen for Christmas became a reality. Stacy and his team delivered what they promised and we cannot be happier with the end result. It was an absolute pleasure working with people we could trust. The team did it again have used this company several times and never disappoint! We recently experienced storm damage to our roof and were in urgent need of expert advice and repairs. More Than Lofts completed our kitchen extension last summer and we are overjoyed with the result. The work has been completed to a high standard and they provided valuable advise on the layout to include a utility room. Great company really glad we chose them. Excellent communication throughout the process with regular photos of work carried out and updates on who and when they would be arriving so we could plan accordingly. This helped make a stressful situation much more bearable as we had quite a lot of work done, so had to live in 2 downstairs rooms while the loft work was being done. Stacy and the team were wonderful. We had a really positive experience from start to finish. With a WhatsApp group for daily comms and updates, we felt fully informed, and able to get questions answered any time. The team were highly skilled, and really friendly. Because they all work for the same company, the hand over between all the different teams was great, and the whole thing ran smoothly. We are so happy with how everything has turned out! Encountered a person of this business on the motorway, who did not signal and cut into my lane. An apology would have been fine, but gave the middle finger instead. Would you want such a person working for you? *In reply to the owner of the company below, the general public reserve the right to leave a review on a public platform. Public reviews are there for a reason. The person who was driving the work van, is a representative of your company and would be expected to conduct himself in a manner representative of his professional status and employer. We all make driving errors, but feeling the need to give the middle finger is poor behaviour. You wouldn’t do that to the traffic police. I would have removed this review had the owner simply apologised for the employee’s behaviour and looked into it with further details, instead, the owner had resorted to being defensive and called a reviewer “sad”, which I will gladly take.

An unexpected flood meant that we needed to replace our kitchen and bathroom,so we chose More Than Lofts who were recommended to us by family. We are so glad that we did: the commitment and professionalism carries through the whole company and their communication was seamless, with daily photo updates via WhatsApp, and Stacy was always available to discuss any queries with us. Quotes were outlined clearly and amended whenever needed, if we changed or added items. The standard of work done is very high and so well finished, we had lots of useful advice throughout on what could be achieved too, which really helped us plan the vision. The skilled team did the electrics, painting, plastering, installation of kitchen and bathroom to a high standard. They were just amazing! More than Lofts did a single story extension to the rear of our house back in 2018/19 and I can’t speak highly enough of the whole team. They’re all an absolute pleasure to work with and the quality of the work they have done is fantastic, there’s not been a single issue with any of it since they finished work. Having building work done with small kids in the house can be a stressful experience but everybody that worked here was really considerate and courteous with great communication. Special mention goes to the owner, Stacey, who was just brilliant. He has built a highly skilled team of craftsmen who deliver work of the highest standard and his attention to detail and ability to engage with us as the customer was unparalleled. Would happily recommend More than Lofts to anyone.

Would highly recommend More than Lofts. We "found" them in 2010 when they built our loft extension which were really pleased with. They have just completed work on the downstairs of our house including plastering, new ceiling, moving electric lights and sockets and installation of light fittings, moving and installing new radiators, new flooring, new electric fire fitted A complete overhaul. The team who worked on the house were professional and considerate. They turned up when they were supposed to and went above and beyond to ensure everything was completed to time and to an excellent standard. We will be using them again in future.

Stacy and his team did a loft conversion for me a few years ago and did an excellent job. He has a wonderful team who go over and beyond for you. This time he has done garden fencing for me and as a favour hung Roman blinds! The fencing is fabulous and done to perfection and I love what he has done. Thank you to Stacy, Dave, and Nick!

I regret choosing More Than Lofts (MTL). The director Stacey Owens is rude, aggressive and 7-10 weeks project, was never completed. The loft conversation done was deemed only 95% completed by Federation of Master Builder (FMB) surveyor; (MTL holds membership). Nevertheless Mr Owen, demanded full payment. Aggressive and unrelenting, he pursued me. I reported his conduct to FMB that led to two mediation processes. He then sued me in small claims court for payment he was not lawfully entitled to receive. Mr Owen lost after a lengthy hearing this year (2021) and received a strong rebuke from the judge. The Judge's summation - included (but not exhaustive) that the work was not completed, some areas that were completed was done poorly and that it was impossible/unsafe for MTL to return to complete the work due to Mr Owens hostility during the hearing. Judgement - Claimant’s claim was dismissed. MTL not entitled to the outstanding balance. MTL breached CRDR Agreement. Mr Owens stated he would appeal, and the judge warned him his appeal would be denied. However, there still remains the option for me to make a counter claim against MTL for compensation. He is not on Checkatrade for a reason! No! I would not recommend this company. If I could give zero star, I would! Probably Mr Owens wishes to dismiss this as a fake report, no surprise there!

More Than Lofts recently delivered our Hip-to-gable roof and loft conversion and we are extremely happy with the workmanship. They set up a whatsapp group which I found very helpful and a great way to communicate. They regularly sent through photos of progress from beginning to end. Any queries they were quick to respond and action. They were completely trustworthy, reliable and professional who created excellent work. The finish is magnificent. A delightful team to work with. We' would definitely recommend More Than Lofts and we would use them again in the future.

Asked them for a quote, they came to have a look and left promising to provide some numbers - gave up chasing these guys after several follow ups - they just couldn't be bothered. If they didn't want the job then say so or price it accordingly? Poor customer service, feels like we dodged a bullet with these guys so happy not to hear back from them in the end.

I don't know anything about the quality of their work as I never managed to get a quote. Somebody came to see me over 3 months ago and said they would provide me with a quote within a week. I've emailed them at least three times to ask for an update and they didn't even have the courtesy to say they are not able to do the job. Total waste of time. If you can't do the work be upfront and honest about it.

More Than Lofts carried out extensive renovation work on our house in 2015. The work included a new 40m2 single story rear extension, a dormer extension, two new bathrooms and new kitchen. One year on and where are very happy with their work. Stacy the owner is an experienced and knowledgeable builder who has a genuine desire to do right by his customers. The work did take longer to complete than expected but it always does, that is the nature of home renovations. In the end More Than delivered quality work at a good price and are a safe choice for anyone looking for a builder. I would use More Than again for future projects.

More Than Lofts was contracted to work on a loft conversion. There were a number of deviations from the specifications they were provided with and delays. Despite not having completed the work the owner and an associate called unannounced on my home one evening, intimidating me and my family and refusing to leave my property when asked to do so. He proceeded to shout from outside my door and bang loudly on it for up towards 2 hours until the police arrived.
