Charlie was brilliant! Helped us out of a tight spot with our move and was able to remove tricky additional lights (and patch up) that we didn’t think we could take with us! In one sentence I would definitely re-use Electrosmith again, not even bothering to analyse other quotes. I've hired enough tradesman to see a quality, fair priced job when I see one. It's rare to find excellent communication, clarity, good planning, punctuality and domain experts all in one place without having to pay an arm and a leg. Electrosmith are that full package at a very fair price. I wanted to retrofit CAT6 cables and sockets to 5 divisions in my house spread over 3 floors. Most friends had told me not to do it, as the work would destroy the house so to speak. I gathered 5 quotes for this job. Immediately when I met Charlie and he described how my house was built in detail, with good options and bad options for different wiring paths, it created a massive contrast with other builders who kept saying "we make a hole and see". When this is your home, you don't have folks experimenting for paths, experience is key, and so is empathy to one's property. After this fact, it was a matter of understanding price. Electrosmith sat second most expensive, not by a tremendous amount, but much cheaper than a quote I got from someone I had no confidence in. In this market you really have to talk to many different people. Agreed dates and job done. Martin who did the job, has decades of experience in this craft, and minimised holes, always seeking feedback and making me understand where things were going. They were tidy, clean, and communication was never an issue. Would definitely recommend and use again.
