John Thompson has undertaken EICR reports and other electrical works for us. We have found him professional, a good communicator, provides sound advice and always leaves the property neat and tidy. Very happy to recommend.

John carried out a range of work, including replacing an old fuse box and some internal and external lighting. He is very helpful, polite and professional. As others have said, he works quickly, does not create unnecessary work and charges a reasonable price. He followed up to check all was well and supplied certificates promptly. A valuable contact, especially in London!

Overall great experience, I highly recommend John. He is very reliable and solved our problem for a completely reasonable price. He organised and brought the parts that were needed and explained everything clearly. In our case the problem was an extractor fan that did not work. John figured out that the fan wasn't broken but that there was an electrical issue in the light switch. He also installed a new bathroom light. If I have any electrical issues again, I will definitely call John!

My oven was tripping a fuse and when I phoned John he very helpfully worked out with me on the phone what was going wrong, and suggested I get a new heating element. I did that and it was easy to replace myself using Youtube video. Thanks a lot John! Highly recommended

John is an excellent electrician who goes above and beyond to find and implement the right solution. I am really happy with the quality of his assistance in replacing a broken electric panel heater and I will definitely reach out again if I need an electrician.

i employed John to fix my bathroom light pull and he arrived punctually to repair it. Then a day later when I broke the lamp in said bathroom, he came back and fitted a new one. Whilst here I asked him to fit a new ceiling lampshade in my bedroom which involved removing the old fitting He did this too and I am delighted with both lights. It is so difficult to find good tradesmen in this city so to have discovered John is such a bonus. Can highly recommend him.

I can’t recommend John highly enough. He managed to diagnose and solve a tricky problem where one of our circuits was constantly tripping out. He made every effort to explain clearly what he thought was happening and it all made sense. He was punctual, courteous, intelligent and professional, and his rates were very reasonable. I will definitely use John again – in fact I’ve already booked him in for a different job involving the replacement of a very old consumer unit.

We had a very bad experience with this electrician. He visited the flat twice to solve some electrical issues in the bathroom but even after his two visits, the electrics failed again after one or two weeks. He also worked on some wiring in the kitchen and left the switch panel in a very unsightly way, only adding some tape to cover this when we asked him to. The tape work didn’t look professional at all. After some issues between him and our landlord at the time, this electrician stopped answering to our messages, basically “ghosting” us which is not professional at all. According to our landlord at the time, this electrician claimed that we didn’t let him finish his work properly and this is why the electrics failed later on. This is a blatant lie, which adds to the general misunderstanding between all parties. If you want a good service, go for an electrician who will keep a professional and polite manner at all times. This electrician is not the one for that!

John came in initially to make safe a dangerously faulty dimmer switch, and followed up with dimmer switch replacements and the installation of track lighting. John is professional, friendly, easy to communicate with and his rates a reasonable. He comes highly recommended.

John was great to work with and I would highly recommend him. We needed our cooker hood replaced on short notice and John made the whole process smooth from booking through to completion. He was nice to speak with, professional, clear in explaining what was going on, showed a lot of respect for our property and did a great job. He was also very affordable.
