We have used Rooftop Rooms now for the 2nd time to do our loft conversion in Hadley Wood. It was a big, ambitious project that involved removing the whole roof, lifting the gables on each side and creating 3 x huge dormas at the back, and 2 x dormas in the front. They employ all their own tradesmen, who are the nicest builders we have ever met. Most of the employees were still with them from the last time we used them 8 years ago to do our loft conversion in Whetstone, which just show that the company is run by nice people. They are trustworthy and keep their promises. Gary and Colin, the two owners, just does not let you down and are always there to ensure that we were happy. They go out of their way to keep everything on track, and communication was outstanding throughout the 9 month project. Yes, things can go wrong, but they just on it straight away and sort it out - no questions asked and no quibbles. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

We’ve been thoroughly impressed with Rooftop Rooms from start to finish. Our loft conversion was managed brilliantly, with timely and effective communication from Hayley and Sally in the office and our PM Gary was always on hand to advise and support with decisions and things that cropped up along the way. We couldn’t believe how quickly the build took shape, with Adam and the team working incredibly long days to get the roof off and back on again with minimal fuss. Everyone worked so hard. Delighted with the work Rooftop Rooms have done for us to convert our loft to a master bedroom with ensuite and walk in wardrobe. The build was completed by a highly professional team of reliable and skilled tradesmen. There was good communication from Hayley and Sally and Project Manager Gary ensured everything ran smoothly and was there to answer questions where we had them. The 1st fix carpentry team led by Adam and his team worked long hours and the loft took shape very quickly and it was really impressive how quickly the structural work was completed with then no downtime before the next element of the build. I was really apprehensive about getting building work done, after we had a terrible experience with another company a couple of years ago. But Rooftop Rooms really put my mind at rest from the start with their professionalism, knowledge and communication. Everyone involved from Gary to Sally, Hayley and Kerry in the office, to the teams of carpenters, plumbers and electricians, and the snagging team, were all so friendly and helpful throughout. There was always someone at the end of the phone if we had any questions and we knew exactly what was happening each week. We recently had a loft conversion completed by Rooftop Rooms Ltd., adding two new bedrooms and a bathroom to our home, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Rooftop Rooms have done a fantastic job converting our loft into a lovely ensuite bedroom. A couple of companies we asked for a quote from said it couldn’t be done due to the pitch of our roof, however Rooftop Rooms were able to find a solution to do it and we are thrilled to now have an extra bedroom for our growing family! The office team are very supportive and responsive, which was great throughout the project when any queries came up. The installation teams were professional, tidy and efficient and the pace of the works overall has been great. The team at Rooftop Rooms are friendly, helpful and approachable and we would definitely recommend them to a friend. We knew straight away we were in good hands. Any additional items of work were agreed in good time and the pricing was transparent. Rooftop rooms are known as the best loft conversions in Enfield for very good reason. Their customer care, service and delivery is first rate from design to build and finishing. We are really pleased with the end product and can highly recommend Rooftop Rooms tilers, decorators, electricians, plasterers and the carpentry is fantastic. We went for panelled fitted wardrobes and the end results are super. Also opted for a skylight and feature window and the rooms is just a lovely place to be with a gorgeous bathroom finished to the highest standard. My wife was nervous about all the building work but it was done in good time and we had regular updates from the friendly team every week. We have just had our loft converted by Roof top rooms into a bedroom with an onsuite. We had quite a tight deadline due to a new baby arriving and Roof tops were excellent at ensuring the works were completed quickly and professionally. All tradesmen have been friendly and understanding of small children coming in and out of the house. The quality of the finish is excellent and we are very happy with the new rooms. Communication with the office staff has been easy and questions answered quickly. Any snagging has been covered and organised by the company. I highly recommend this local service. From start to finish the project roughly took 8-10 weeks.

Rooftop Rooms carried out our loft conversion recently and I can thoroughly recommend them. I am a chartered project management surveyor and work with contractors as part of my day to day job. Rooftop Rooms were competent, capable, professional and a pleasure to deal with. Colin explained the works, pricing and programming clearly before we committed to the build. Any additional items of work were agreed in good time and the pricing was transparent. The quote represented good value and even when the prices went up due to materials shortages and inflation, while waiting for the planning application, we were able to agree a sensible uplift. Sally and her team dealt with the planning application – which was not straightforward as we live in a conservation area. Garry was an excellent project manager, organising all the activities on site and dealing with all the queries we had as well as managing relations with the neighbours. The guys on site have worked together for years, which shows in the well organised and safe manner in which the works were undertaken. The office always advise you of the forthcoming works schedule a week in advance and the foreman and crews are considerate and polite. When working on existing buildings there are always unexpected items which even the most experienced of us can’t foresee. We had a few of these and Rooftop dealt with these agreeably so we didn’t end up with any nasty surprises. Most importantly, the quality of the work is superb. The finishing process was comprehensive and we had zero snags We were very pleased with the end result and the way in which it was achieved and would definitely work with the team at Rooftop Rooms again Amir & Lindsey - Aldersbrook

This is the only loft company we have used and it is important you choose the right company as you’re about to spend a lot of money so we took our time, asked a few other companies to compare. From the start Rooftop Rooms were professional. Provided advice at quote stage for things we should consider and advised us to leave space in the fuse box. We were changing this so that was a good tip! Good communication throughout the project, and when we had questions they were quick to respond and advise and sort. The weekly schedule is great and staged payments are aligned with the progress of the project. We had to add some extras along the way and some prices were reasonable and some maybe a little high. You are welcome to use your own contractors, but be aware to stick to the schedule. We got a finished loft room in 10 weeks! We are now at the final stage of our project, snagging. I’m confident Rooftop Rooms will address the snags, if any are to be attended to. Once we are complete, it will be a full 5 stars. The experience within Rooftop Rooms is evident and I would recommend them and use again. You get a quality build and I’m confident that if there are issues they will attend to and see through their 10 year warranty. It is important to continue their great customer service they have provided so far should any issues arise.

We are very happy with Rooftop rooms. They carried out a rear dormer loft conversion encompassing a large bedroom with Juliet balcony, a dressing room, an en-suite and a small study bedroom. The architects worked with us to refine the layout to suit our needs. Throughout the project we were kept informed of the weekly schedules and the project manager was always available and addressed any issues promptly. We were impressed with how clean the property was left both throughout the works and at the end of the project. Overall the project was not nearly as dusty or messy as we had feared - we lived in the property throughout the project with relatively little inconvenience. The quotation was very detailed and comprehensive and the paperwork clearly indicated the costs of any extras (e.g. black soffits, extra power sockets or radiators etc.). Payment instalments were requested only on completion of key milestones throughout the project. We are very happy with the finished loft and would not hesitate to recommend Rooftop Rooms to anyone considering a loft conversion.

We have had the best experience we could have hoped for with Rooftop Rooms. We added two bedrooms and a bathroom to a 1930's terrace. We were so happy with the way they dealt with the loft that we did our downstairs with them straight after and extended into the garden. They were right in the middle price wise of the quotes we got, and worked with us tirelessly to help us afford little extras we decided on here and there. Having had an absolute horror experience with a builder from Bishop Stortford on our home office roof, we were extremely stressed to do this. The main things for us were the communication, and attention to detail. Our project manager Gary was world class. He explained to us pretty much weekly what they were doing, when, why and so on. He always answers his phone, or calls you straight back. There wasn't a single time he didn't get back to us on questions. Really felt like you were getting what you paid for. Chris, the carpenter who undertook the initial stages of building the loft dormer and structure was so thorough, and took so much pride in his work I wanted to hug him at the end of his stage. This is our home, and I know it's been well built because he was meticulous. Such a relief. He would take me up there every few days to show what he'd done, let me know what was next, check we were happy. They finished almost on time, but given Christmas was in the middle of it, that was to be expected and if you don’t count that they were bang on. Our carpenter was then Richie, who has to be one of the best guys we've met. A funny, friendly, fast working (and talking) Irishman who also went out of his way to help with a few extras (even dropping off some polish for our car when I scratched it!). The team in the office were also very helpful - Sally went beyond to help us complete it all. She put our mind at rest a few times and really was so helpful; and we'd get regular schedules and updates from Hayley, Kerry and Frankie. Where we needed to order stuff that wasn't included (like sink, toilet etc) they had established relationships with top people that saved us money and meant we had the confidence that they knew they wouldn't mess us around. The mark of a company you can trust is when they've been around as long as these guys have. Moreover, that they didn't bust their company and run when things were tough, but are still here today. I'd wholeheartedly recommend them - in fact we have to most of our neighbours, as they were recommended to us by a friend who lives up the road. It's not worth taking a gamble when it's your home, and while they are super busy, so it might take a day or two to get a response to your first email, I just wanted to make the point that once you are a customer, they really do everything to make it a good experience. Do NOT use this company in any circumstances. We are the neighbours of the property they are supposed to be doing a roof conversion on. They took 27 weeks to do what was supposed to be a 12 week job. They have made a terrible mess of our property as well as the one they are supposed to be working in.They have used many different contractors with no supervision so that the standard of work is dreadful if you can call it a standard at all. They erected scaffolding onto our property with no warning and as well as the mess they have made of our place for 6 months, the language of some of the contractors has been so bad as to make even passers by complain! . There have been many periods of weeks when no-one has turned up at all. They have used young teenagers on site with no protective gloves or shoes and have shown no concern for safety of passers by or neighbours. They managed to flood the property they were supposed to working in - twice! Nightmare.

I am in the process of reporting Sally (the manager/coordinator/decision maker of Roof Top Rooms) to trading standards because they have taken my money and left me with nothing. Sally agreed to do my loft back in May 2021, price agreed, deposit was paid, contract signed, for job to start 3rd week in August 2021. I was told to clear the loft in anticipation of the work, so my children and I spent a whole weekend excitedly clearing the space. Then I heard nothing! from roof top rooms until 1 week After the agreed start date -an email from Sally to say the price has gone up by £4000 PLUS VAT. I called to ask why - Sally said the prices of parts had gone up. I explained I had budgeted for the amount agreed and could not afford this sudden increase. She was not willing to accept my argument. On second conversation to dispute this Sally told me the only way to go ahead is if I paid cash! I as was not happy to do this, because I had signed an agreement and paid the deposit moths ago, she told be by email 'well if your morals prevent you from paying cash, we cannot help you' and ended the mail by saying.. also we will be keeping your deposit as it covers architectures work which can be used by another company. Then after needing to actually ask for architectural drawings (which I paid for) , Sally sent them to me - 1 page of it. Loft companies who I now had to consult to try to get my loft done, told me there should be more pages for this price (£1500) so I pain-stackingly had to contact Sally again. After several emails and messages and visit to the office due to no response to messages, she eventually send over the rest of a 12 page drawings. Shockingly then, 3 other companies told me the measurements were incorrect! the drawings were inaccurate with wrong finish heights, so cannot be used. They advise me to get my money back from roof top rooms because I will have to pay for new architectural drawings. They said it explains why Sally was reluctant to give me them. I called and explained this to manager Sally, after an email about it was ignored. She was very rude and dismissive on the phone and refused to give me my deposit back or even to listen or consider or check what I was saying about the incorrect drawing measurement. I have never encountered such poor Customer service, Sally speaks to you condescendingly like a child and like something on the bottom of her shoe, that's how she made me feel. I honestly felt palpitations everytime I had to call her and more often than not she would say 'I am driving! I can't speak!" then not even return the call. This is after she actually answered her phone! why pick up your phone if you are driving?? In all honesty others I have dealt with -the architect and planner who visited the house and others in the office have been lovely, it is just Sally who unfortunately makes all the decisions. I have never come across a more unprofessional service which has taken my money and left us with nothing. Such an unpleasant experience, which led to a lot of stress for me, for most part of this summer, during an already very difficult time for NHS front line workers. Recently used Rooftop Rooms for a loft conversion on our Edwardian terraced house - an L-shaped dormer with two bedrooms and a bathroom. We're really happy with the quality of the work - everything was finished to a high standard. They also worked with us to amend the design to ensure we got the most out of it in terms of head height, space, natural light, etc. The reason we did not give 5 stars is the service. We expected more from an established company in terms of scheduling and project coordination, especially since we paid a premium when compared to quotes we received from independent contractors. Overall we had to play a very active day to day role when it came to managing the schedule and workmen (ie people not turning up because they are split across multiple jobs), which was disappointing. Overall we're very pleased with the end result, however if you use Rooftop Rooms be prepared to get involved in scheduling and chasing up workmen as this is the part that they need to improve on.

I hope they do rooftop rooms better then they can drive. It was a shocking display of road rage and lose of self control I witnessed. I bet they never thought about they was in marked van.

Such an inconsiderate company. They let the crew work on Sundays and Bank Holidays. They don't mind the noise they create and how much that disturbs you. When you ask them to stop, they don't even reply and just disappear in the loft. I was looking forward to working with them next summer after checking the quality of work they are doing now at my neighbor's however I decided that I would never work with such rude people.

Fabulous Start to Finish. 2 years ago RoofTop Rooms completed my loft conversion and we have recently had them back for a ground floor extension. I can not speak highly enough about the entire team. The end result is great, but just as importantly they are all decent people to work with. When you have people in your house (especially when you have kids) you don't want people being difficult or swearing and all of the tradesman are nice guys. They also have a comprehensive in house team so any issues are easily resolved. When it comes to price, although upgrades are available, they deliver the project to the price quoted, they never ask for more money and that's great piece of mind. Even if you require upgrades they are reasonably priced and their is never any pressure, you just order from a price list or they will quote if its more complex. Lastly if there are any issues they always come back and sort things out, no arguments at all. They also have a comprehensive snagging routine and you don't pay the final payment until everyone is happy and all the regs have been signed off. 5 stars from me

Having had a loft conversion on a previous property with a different company (and been very happy with it), we made the decision to go with Rooftop this time round due to their experience with properties similar to ours. We never regretted the decision, the quote was fast and inclusive and the whole process was well-managed. Our project coordinator Hayley was attentive and efficient and the whole operation was like a well-oiled machine. Work schedules were issued and updated regularly and all the workmen were polite and helpful. This is a godsend if you're not around all the time as they'll let you know the critical times when you really need to be there. The end result is fantastic, completed on time, no budget surprises and swift, quibble-free snagging process. We also asked for additional work which was reasonably priced and all completed within the original time frame. Overall, very pleased and would definitely recommend.

We will give Rooftop Rooms 5 stars. We researched thoroughly before approaching RTR for building our back dormer. Quite impressed with their professionalism. Their quote was competitive and the quality of work and materials used excellent. At every stage, we found them receptive to any issues we raised and they ensured that we were completely satisfied with the solutions delivered. What amazed us was their commitment to quality control. Regular reviews were in place to ensure that the project went ahead on schedule and the work was to everyone’s satisfaction. In fact, we were so pleased with their work that when we received planning permission for the front dormer the following year we went back to them again. We have just completed a loft conversion with rooftop rooms, and have we're delighted with the new space! The team are all very friendly, very quick to answer our questions, the workman tidy and polite. They were also very patient when we needed to push our start date a couple of times. They fitted an en suite loo for us, which looks great, as well as additional plastering works for us in the hallway. The price list is provided upfront, and they were the best price we were quoted.
