However, critical reviews mention high hourly rates, unexpected final charges, and automated booking systems that demand full payment before confirming appointments. Other clients report difficulty securing follow-up repairs after fault finding or dissatisfaction with staff responses regarding billing disputes.

Byron was professional, knowledgeable and thorough. He carried out a detailed assessment, explained the electrical issues clearly, and gave practical solutions. Friendly, reliable and clearly very experienced. I would happily recommend him.
Excellent installation of a ceiling fan. Very complex installation done, via the steaming loft, with patience and on the hottest day of the year…
Byron was lovely and made me feel at ease visiting my home. He was very efficient in the job, and I’m very pleased I found him!
Byron resolved a fault on a complicated LED setup - he was hugely efficient, and very patient with configuring the settings as we wanted. Would very much recommend SES Electrical.
SES and Byron were genuinely terrific. Apart from the fire alarm being absolute top quality, his service and manner of conducting himself was great. Respectful of the space, explained everything clearly, pleasant conversation. Thoroughly reccomend.
Byron was excellent, cannot recommend him enough. Even with my ambiguous description of my electrical issues, he gave me confidence in my options. Highly recommend
Byron was very professional. He was very good at communicating and managed the work very well, on time and on budget. Would definitely recommend and work with him again.
Great work! I’m really pleased with how Byron keeps the workspace clean and organised. His pricing is fair and reflects the work done. He comes across as highly professional and very experienced.
Byron did a great job installing our spotlights and socket - quick, clean and efficient. Will definitely use again.
Excellent communication, great service and a pleasure to deal with. As a remote landlord, it really helps having someone you can rely on to do good work, and just as importantly, being communicative with me.
Byron did a fantastic job during his visit today! Deinstalled telephone socket and extension efficiently and carefully and felt very reassured that this was done safely - a fair price and happy with the job. Very friendly and great service - would highly recommend!
Byron was excellent - did a brilliant job to create the electrical set up for a washing machine installation. Will definitely be using SES again!
Fantastic service, and great communication. I was trying to replace some ceiling lights myself when I came across a nest of dodgy looking wiring. With just a couple photos sent beforehand, Byron understood exactly what I needed and was able to sort out everything including the wiring mess and new lights that look better than new. Completely protected the area and took with him every trace of dust. 10/10!
SES Electrical Contractors were professional, efficient, and easy to deal with throughout this job. They supplied and installed eight LED dimmer modules, replaced damaged chrome dimmer knobs, set everything up properly, and left the work areas clean afterwards. Communication was clear, the invoice was detailed, and the work was completed promptly. Overall, a smooth and professional service.
Byron recently carried out and EICR report for me. The report identified some remedial works that needed doing and Byron did all the work very thoroughly, he explained why it needed doing and quoted efficiently and clearly. Am really pleased with the work. Done to a professional standard and left clean and tidy. I highly recommend SES. Prompt, professional, totally trustworthy and great customer care.
Byron installed a new fuse board in my house. He did a thorough job, the price felt fair, and he was very easy to deal with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
SES always provide a great friendly service and working with Byron is great. We use them regularly for our building fire alarm servicing, to keep our building safe, and up to date. Communication around bookings and attendance is great, with text messaging for arrival times, and the work is always A++
We had a pat testing job done on our electrical appliances recently by SES Electrical Contractors and it was done with the utmost care and professionalism. The person who came to do the work had the utmost respect for privacy and was extremely thorough. We would have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone who needs electrical work done on their house.
For this particular job we needed someone to attend quickly and SES came quick and at the agreed time, doing a great job. I was particularly impressed with the care taken to protect against dust / dirt / marks on the paintwork etc
Byron was very efficient & came over to us quickly. He identified the problem in no time & mended everything. Once I’d got my head around his actually very good automated booking system it was a great service. Thanks Byron.
I had SES Come into carry out the EICR renewal on a property in W11 I manage, to which SES carried out the original inspection and works. Thinking it would be a straight forward renewal of the certificate, as a lot of works were carried out at great cost 5 years ago by SES ! To my shock I was presented with an inspection invoice and quote in excess of £1200! I found that Byron who inspected was to pedantic and over zealous on what needed to be done. I instructed another registered firm to carry out the EICR report and carry out the REQUIRED works which came in at half the cost. Sadly I can’t use SES for my clients in the future.
A very disappointing, and bizarre, experience trying to engage SES to carry out an electrical safety inspection. The responses appeared to be AI-generated. And while no appointment was arranged, SES began demanding I pay a deposit for the proposed work. However, this deposit amounted to the entire cost of the work; £300. I then started to receive automated reminders, with a 'don't reply to this number' caveat, containing a link to make the payment. SES were therefore demanding full payment, without even making an appointment, less so doing their job, at the same time failing to provide a contact to speak to. I decided not proceed with the work.
Very quick in responding for your jobs requests and also very quick in taking your money, but cannot followed up and fixed your problems or faults after in inspections or testing. They should change to "Inspections and faulting finding service company', because they will waste your time by delaying any make up excuses for doing any follow up works which you probably best find a company that follow up after and faults found. Don't waste your money in a company that does inspection and testing only.
I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by SES Electrical on 4th July 2024. It was also surprising that SES Electrical and his technician Ryan had no service integrity and poor professionalism. Over the past two weeks, SES Electrical were dishonest on what had truly happened that day and shirk the responsibility of identifying the issue to customer not giving enough time to test. It was quite sure that they will say nearly the same thing in the comment of this review, but this was exactly what had happened on the day in the following paragraphs, which they did not want to admit. Firstly, when the electrician Ryan arrived with his ladder, he seemed to rush through the initial inspection. After our detailed explanation of the problem, he went out for around 10 minutes, came back with his tool box, and said he had talked with builders who did construction outside (The common area in the block of the building was under construction since late June). He quickly concluded that there was no significant issue for the inside flat. Because he checked with builders who worked in common area, the switch in fuse box tripping happened for other flats in our block building as well. My husband and I have double confirmed with him the second time for this issue. The possible reason he thought to cause the problem was the damp, caused by the rebuilding of the walls in the common area outside our flat. We spelled the word 'D-A-M-P' and asked if he meant, and then he confirmed it was 'damp' the possible reason. Then Ryan offered to check circuit / wiring tests for the flat. It is obvious that it was waste of time if the fault he identified was related to outside, and it is quite common that it will get worse or create new problems if something has changed. We thanked him with this offer, but gave him an excuse, and let him go. However, on the same day in the afternoon, we asked the building manager in our building, and we also talked to the builder, the builder manager, and the electrician who worked in the common area. They all said that we are the only flat who faced the problem, and no other people reported this issue, and their work in the common area is linked to a separate fuse panel (landlord fuse), not any individual flats. They all believe that the switch tripping is related to the inside flat, not the outside common area construction. It made us quite confused about the issue we are facing, and we contacted SES Electrical for a follow-up. I was met with quite storytelling and unhelpful responses. They replied to us that Ryan cannot have enough time to perform his testing inside our flat to identify the reason, but they believe it was related inside and need to go to our flat for another testing, which was our first time they did not advised us to do. We asked for the internal report of our issue, and gave the details to SES Electrical of what had happened that day, but they did not admit what had happened and what Ryan said to us. Moreover, the only solution SES Electrical provided was further testing, and charge further labour costs and possible parts. But there was no trust from us through the whole process. It does not matter that much when making a mistake, but the incompetence and dishonesty of covering a mistake was disappointing and untrustworthy for a professional company. Not only did the electrician Ryan fail to identify the cause of the tripping fuse box, but SES Electrical also blatantly dishonest about the issue, leading to further frustration and inconvenience. Their lack of professionalism, poor customer service, and failure to resolve critical electrical issues are unacceptable. This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I will certainly be taking my electrical services elsewhere in the future.
SES sent Rez round to replace the element on my grill. Admittedly he was late, but was due to a previous client and wasn’t having a great day. Nonetheless he didn’t let it show and did the job in good spirits. Job was done quickly and efficiently, so glad it has been done now.
Ryan the engineer was an absolute delight, polite, tidy, punctual and had great communications. Would highly recommend Ryan Price of the fixed price job went up due to a hard to find fault picked up by the newer RCBO units tripping whereas previous trip switches and RCDs were fine.
The booking service and the work quality was good, no complaints. My issue was with the price which I do think was massively inflated. The job was to fit 2 light fittings and change 2 switches, which took 2hours 45 minutes and the final bill was £500! I was totally shocked and would not use this company again purely based on the price.
After a disappointing start - we managed to get SES in on the Monday, and the electrician was very helpful & professional. Very happy with the service
We had a recent replacement of a cooker hood. the final bill was very expensive - around £400. as they charge £150 by the hour it is very difficult to know what the final bill be beforehand. also we were not impressed by the quality - the protective plastic was not removed - only after complaining sb. came back to rectify it. if you want to avoid the worry about unpredictable bills - use sb else.
Awful, Awful and Awful Company. The owner is always in Portugal running a business of 10 unqualified electricians. Had hired myself as an apprentice electrician, to only terminate my employment within 2 weeks and others without reason which is completely uncalled for. To then block my contact number and not respond to my emails. Be careful who you hire to do your electrical work, if an unqualified electrician carries out remedial works on your property and makes a mistake due to lack of competence, the consequence could be life threatening.
Staff were not helpful at all and prices were not reflective of the service they provided.
I hired this company for my tenants as they had an issue with a ceiling light in a bedroom. The job took about 10 mins; it consisted in reattaching a wire in the switch. I was charged 120 pounds for this. The provider had in his T&C a minimum charge of 1 hour fee but in my opinion it is obscene charging this much for 10 min. I would understand it for 30 min job but not for 10min. I raised this issue sending a very polite email and I got a rude reply. Eventually the guy apologized but I don't think it is the right way to treat customers or running a business, showing a total lack of flexibility
SES Electrical Contractors were very responsive and made the process quick and easy. Would use them again as very efficient.
It was a great company
Good service
Hopeless, these engineers never do anything right, you have to call them back time and time again, I have taps hanging off and faulty boiler to this day. Find someone better
