While a minority of customers highlight prompt installations and polite engineers, many complain of long booking delays, unanswered emails and lengthy phone wait times. Several homeowners state that installers fitted chargers in unapproved locations, left untidy or loose wiring, and in one instance damaged a waste pipe. Reviewers also report subsequent hardware faults, lack of out-of-hours support and difficulties obtaining repairs or refunds.

I hate writing negative reviews, but this company really tested my patience. The initial survey went well, and I agreed to the quoted price. However, things quickly went downhill at the first installation appointment. The engineer struggled to fit the cable directly to the wall and left it loose. He then installed the charger in a location of his choosing without any consultation with me. To make matters worse, he damaged a waste pipe and left before completing the installation, stating that he had another appointment to attend. A second visit was arranged, but the engineer arrived with a bandaged hand and advised that all he could do was check the power supply. I asked about moving the charger to the location I had originally requested, and he dismissed it as a "small job". As for the unsafe cable installation, he seemed completely unconcerned. The cable remains in a position that makes routine garden maintenance potentially dangerous. I contacted the company repeatedly by phone and email, but they showed little interest in resolving the issues. BMW even tried to assist, but customer service from the installation company remained poor. I subsequently raised a formal complaint, which was not handled in accordance with the company's own complaints procedure or service standards. This whole experience caused me a great deal of stress, and I am still left with the cost of repairing the damaged pipe, as well as an unsafe cable installation. I would not recommend this company based on my experience.
Terrible Customer Service The charger breaks down every year, yet we pay a maintenance fee every month. We've contacted their complaints team, but never get a response. Once the charger is installed, they disappear.
Had a home charger from Pod point which completely died for no discernable reason just a couple of weeks after warranty expired. Just told to pay £600 to install a new one. Doesn't bode well for their hardware...
Terrible customer service. Would not refund the money on my account and asked me to enter card information. I did this and then they just refunded it to a completely different card which was closed. Why ask me if you are just going to refund to any card that you have. Awful customer service.
Really careless and slow customer service. Have sent several reminders but no response. They do take money but do not meet the promises. Either they do not have enough staff or don’t know how to run business. Contacting them is very hard as you wait for long and what you hear is ‘ we will get back to you ‘ it has 2 months since I have paid initially and installation not happened !!! I have to go out to charge !!! Will not recommend pod point to anyone !! Please refund my money back !!
I am struggling hugely with the charger, they have no out of our service, which is important when you’re trying to charge your car overnight. They don’t really answer emails, very often, and you can barely get hold of them on the phone.
Usless company. They installed the charger incorrectly, taking up space that is meant for NI Electric hardware. I have been trying for 5 MONTHS to get them to resolve this issue, and I am continually ignored. Avoid this company at all costs.
Failed to install home charger and still to arrange a return visit. Pod point and their appointed fitting company just blame each other and no progress for 10 weeks.
My personal dealings with Pod Point do not reflect the recent negative reviews. Throughout the install process they were courteous and informative throughout. The engineer who came installed the charger exactly where we asked, with a tidy cable run in about 2.5 hours. When I had some issues with charging I called the Customer Service line and spoke to an agent within 3-4 minutes. They took the details of my issue, put me on hold for about a minute. Told me they had rebooted my charger remotely and to try again in 5-10 minutes. After this time my issues were resolved. From a personal perspective I can highly recommend Pod Point and would have no issues in doing so in future. Thank you Samad and Team
As others have said, installers fit units where convenient instead of where is required. Untidy wiring, customer 'service' and technical 'help' impossible to get hold of. 2 months down the line and our charger is still not providing full 7kw output, despite numerous calls (always goes through to an 'overflow' call centre, never to anyone who knows what they're doing). Very unprofessional company, who don't give two hoots about service once they've pocketed your cash. Avoid.
This company is obviously securing a huge amount of clients with the increase of electric vehicles. They are simply not equipped to deal with the level of clients they now have and the service that they provide is absolutely abysmal. I had to undertake my own on site survey attaching photographs, which in itself is not a problem at all really but when it was requested that I undertake specific electrical works which amounted to approximately £700 which necessitated lifting of floorboards and removal of stud walls, it took me over eight emails and probably four hours of holding for service to establish what actually was required. Suffice to say I was pulling my hair out with the level of their ineptitude. I eventually managed to have the electrical work undertaken, which incidentally was significantly less than originally detailed, and then had to wait to speak to a senior manager to initiate the installation. They have an out of hours Helpdesk who may as well be swimming pool cleaners, based on the level of knowledge of the client and its capabilities. Possibly the most difficult and annoying company to deal with. Avoid.
We had a private charger fitted. Company ignored emails from me. Engineer fitted the point where it was easier and quicker rather than where we wanted it - ignored several requests to put it in specific place, apparently for his ease snd a quick job.
My PodPoint has stopped working after 10 months, and the repair process has been a nightmare. I spent several hours taking photos, making videos, chasing up support people who said they'd call back and did not, then calling again, waiting for 1 hour to give the same info over again after listening to a 8sec loop of background music, seemingly designed to torture you to put the phone down. Awful service, sloppy, unreliable and unprofessional.
What a total waste of time. Despite knowing my car delivery date they've advised the earliest install date is 3 weeks after this! Before finding that out I've had to pay, fill out numerious forms, send photos, complete my own site survey and exchange several emails. Why not advise this before making me jump through all these hoops? So I'm now a week ahead, £600 down and have to find another installer to do the job.
Something seriously wrong with this company. Over a month after they took the money they have failed to even schedule an installation date and fail to answer repeated emails. Impossible to get an answer when phoning them. Beginning to think we have been scammed. UPDATE: Rumours this company has ceased trading. Failing to respond to emails even at director level (Edf). Can anyone verify?
I have phoned Pod Point multiple times in the last few weeks due to issues with their public charge points. Nobody ever answers and most recently the phone just rings and then cuts off. Terrible experience.
Have had the PodPoint charging unit for 14-15 months now. Initial ordering and install was quick and painless. Had an issue after approx. 9 months that was painful to get resolved i.e. you need to jump through a lot of hurdles to get somebody out to fix the issue (Apparently contractor who did initial install weakened RCD which subsequently broke or to be more correct melted). Fix was done by PodPoint employee whose service I cannot fault when he arrive to fix. They need to do some work to a) improve their customer services and b) ensure 3rd party installers do a better job
We have been trying to install our pod to no avail! Prior to the first appointment, we sent relevant photos across and they had brought the wrong parts. Then it took them a few weeks to get back to us about more availability and now no one has turned up. Furthermore there is no one we can speak to as it is the weekend. If I had to sum them up in one word it would be......UNRELIABLE!
Very poor service, took around 5 weeks to get a response only to be told they would need to send a surveyor out 2 weeks later, was then told a further 4 weeks to get the point installed, a total 11 weeks - joke! I finally cancelled the order when customer services hung-up while on the phone
God where to start, applied for installation 2 months later had someone survey. quote was to dig trench 15 metres long, and installation etc just over £2700!!!! They then said i could dig the trench and buy the conduit myself - so with the info they gave me did both. While waiting for the actual installation date used two public podpoint charge stations, first one didn't charge as it lost wifi connectivity and stopped charging. Second station locked the cable in and wouldn't release so had to call emergency line and they reset the whole station. Installation date arrived, was told didn't need the trench nor the conduit...... used the trench anyway. Now the fuse to the point trips after 30 minutes of use. Podpoint reduced the charge throughput to 3kw and it held, today they've put it back upto 7kw and again tripping after around 30 minutes so not confident on car charging overnight. Have gone back to the 3 pin and waiting for them to contact me about coming back to fix. If you're still reading long story short, for the love of god don't use this company - stay well away and use a different company that allows you to take advantage of the government grant as there are others. I really wish I did.
This company is making a profit out of the government subsidy system for electric charging point installations and is not interested in customer service. I had a podpoint installation. Despite me sending photos and an architectural plan for the proposed installation the engineer persuaded my wife to have the unit installed elsewhere which has been most incovenient. Furthermore within days the charger has stopped working and it has now been 5 days since I E mailed my concerns and request for a repair. I have had no response and it is impossible to get through on the phone. I share other customers frustrations with the appalling customer service. Other than turning up at their offices or making a complaint to the trading standards office. I await their reply. In meantime I am losing money due to the lack of a working charging point at home.
Installation was good in that it happened on time and was fitted well. There was a problem with connecting to the WiFi to allow reporting. Despite numerous attempts to contact the Customer Services Department including voicemail messages and emails there is no response back - am questioning if they are going out of business as the lack of response suggests they don’t care and no reason to provide a service.
Our Pod Point, that was installed about six months ago, has developed a fault and despite repeated phone calls to Pod Point have not been able to get the issue resolved. Apart from the waste of my time it is making charging our office car difficult. I would not recommend this company.
I never dealt with such a 3rd rate company. Never return calls. They were supposed to return my charging cable on Friday with a courier and they could not do that. Courier arrived at the office on Friday and it was closed, great organisation skills from customer support!!! No out office number even for Source London. They could not organise, as they say a party in a brewery.I spoke to the customer manager today and there was no apology, worse thing is that he tried to bluff the distance between his location and my address to Source London's french call centre and said I was 40 miles away, when i was only 7-8 miles. Shocking !!!!!!!!!!!!
