We had JD Allen install a 52kw PV system on the warehouse roof at Brindisa and I’ve got to say, Deren and his team made the whole thing a breeze. No hassle, no drama – they just got on with it and did a brilliant job. The process was simple from start to finish, everything explained clearly, and the install was spot on. Now the system’s live we’re already saving a serious amount of money on our bills. Couldn’t be happier – would 100% recommend JD Allen to anyone thinking about solar.

JD Allen have carried out a very professional and seamless job installing solar panels in two different locations in our home, alongside a new battery. The customer service has been excellent both before during and after the job, with a handover in person following the job completion. Would very much recommend.

After 2 recommended firms I tried to use went bust ( by the mayors scheme, and by SELCE) I was understandably wary with my 3rd recommendation ( from a roofer friend) JD Allen Engineering. From start to finish I could not have been happier. Having spent the previous year poring over roof layouts, plans and suggested panels, batteries etc, I was pleased to see that the kit recommended by this company was either cheaper, higher spec or had much longer guarantee periods. The installation went very smoothly and efficiently and I cannot find any area where my needs were not met. JD Allen installed solar panels and a battery for me in 2025. Our setup was complicated due to the age of our house and the setup of our main fuse-box, but they handled the job neatly and to schedule. The opportunity to have someone come out and inspect our setup before quoting helped immensely. I am happy to recommend them.

Deren and his team really helped me decide what I needed and guided me all the way through from planning to installation to maintenance. Deren made sure the design Fox Cloud 8 KW battery storage with a 4KW 8 panel East West facing provided the most efficient orientation and what I needed to be more or less self sufficient most of the year. The system was installed in late 2022 so is two and half years old and all has been working exceptionally well. JD Allen helped me when I had any issues and can do monitoring checks on your data remotely. Post installation I was given and talked through a very comprehensive client pack with all the information I needed. Deren is still in touch and is going to provide a review of the system in the coming months. I could not recommend Deren and his team more highly.

We wanted our solar and battery equipment to be checked over to make sure that it was functioning well - especially since our solar panels have been up for 14 years. The company, JD Allen, was helpful and very professional. Their engineer came out promptly and was friendly and thorough. He checked everything in the integrated set up and confirmed that it was working well. We were impressed by the service.

I found JD Allen to be professional and reliable. I was reassured from beginning to end that I was in safe hands. Their communication was clear, they managed my expectations of timings and cost and everything went according to plan. The install was delivered on time and within budget. Their work was neat and tidy and the handover pack included plenty of information including all the necessary certificates and warranties. Based on my experience I would recommend. I wish all suppliers were as good.

Having been let down by the Green Energy Together scheme and received a quote for only four panels for my 4-bedroom house, I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to go ahead with a solar power installation. However JD Allen Engineering came up with a design for 9 panels over two aspects of my roof and a 5V battery in the loft. The installation process and operation of the panels was explained to me very clearly and within 6 weeks of paying the 10% deposit, my installation had been commissioned and I was enjoying the benefits of solar energy. I can highly recommend JD Allen Engineering and a big thank you to their team of scaffolders, electrician and solar panel installers, who were polite, friendly and efficient and worked together seamlessly to provide an excellent and smooth service.

Excellent service from Deren, with a wealth of specialist knowledge! Very helpful in explaining the problem that our builder's electrician had left, in not connecting correctly the solar diverter to give us hot water when it is bright and sunny outside, in place of the need to use the gas boiler. A highly specialised job, but no trouble at all for Deren, who came to us following a well-deserved recommendation.

Deren and the team are all very friendly and professional. They were able to accommodate my request to do cabling in advance, around building work I was doing and this prevented the need to take floorboards up later. Their work was all very neat, done to my exact specification and completed on time. Highly recommended!!

Deren and his team installed a new photovoltaic system on the roof with inverter, battery and EPS. I was very happy about the pre-work communication with regard to options in cabling and placement of new equipment. The work was executed efficiently and they kept me up-to-date about timing of the work. I'm very happy with the installation.

Jake was super helpful, and gave lots of advice for how we should address the elctrics in other rooms. The work was great, and everything was left clean and tidy. I will be using again and would definitly recommend.

Solar PV installation in-roof Excellent service from Deren, Ewan and crew. Very patient while I quizzed them with multiple layout options. Eventually I had 9 panels installed, working around an existing skylight, and battery. This was their first in-roof installation so a few bumps expected, now it's been in a month and I think the all-black panels look great. I pointed out a flashing looked messy, and this was fixed promptly. Aftercare also good.

I can highly recommend JD Allen Engineering for all solar and battery needs. These guys are one of the few that I found who take a scientific approach to designing your home solution. Much better than others who recommend more of a ‘try and see’ approach. Also they were very good when it came to installation. I guess this technology is still pretty new and is evolving at a fast pace so for me it was really important I could trust my installer to see through any eventual troubleshooting that may be needed. Also that they were able to take account of and integrate with the existing PV and EV system; other companies I sought quotes from simply wanted to keep what I already had at arms length, somehow. These guys made sure the addition to my system was designed and worked as a whole. If I extend my system further I will definitely look to work with JD Allen Engineering again and I feel I can recommend them wholeheartedly.

As a retired professional Chartered Electrical Engineer I would strongly recommend JD Allen Engineering. Not only did they deal with my exacting electrical installation requirements very well but also designed a Solar/Battery system, selected products and commissioned it on time and on budget. It is not easy deciding when there are so many Companies offering so many different price point and varying quality products and systems. I am not only satisfied with their work but am delighted.

JD Allen fitted a Huawei solar panel system and house battery in November 2022. The service was very personalised. Deren listed to what I wanted, then did a personal site visit, and then found a technical solution that met my requirements. It was so amazing to have this type of personal service which is so unlike other solar panel companies who try to sell you panels over the phone after only looking at a satellite picture of the roof. The other thing that gave me a lot of confidence was the thoroughness of the paperwork and completeness of the certification - which is very important if you ever want to sell any energy back to the grid. I would be happy to recommend JD Allen.

The contractor JDAllen engineering were technically competent and skilled tradesmen. The job they did in repairing our roof based PV system was difficult as they had to research the problem left by the previous repair contractors failings. At every stage in the work the electrical engineer Deren , kept me informed of the problem and has proposals and solutions.
