We were quoted (through managing agent Chestertons) several thousand pounds for EICR works presented as “mandatory”, even after we questioned this as many items were listed as C3 recommendations. They insisted the works were mandatory. A 2nd firm later confirmed those works were not mandatory and resolved the actual issues cost-effectively. The original report from P&B also flagged issues that supposedly needed extensive investigation and possible rewiring, but these were retested and found to be fine by the 2nd firm later. Overall, this felt misleading since it resulted in a significantly inflated quote for unnecessary works being presented as mandatory repairs.
