John came to assess the problem I had with damp and he explained in terms could understand what the problem was and how to fix it. He didn't try and sell me any treatments I didn't need and gave advice on how to save money with a couple of adjustments to temperature control.

Highest praise for John, a lovely guy who came out (fitting around my working hours) to come and look at a damp issue that wasn't even something he'd normally cover. He wanted to make sure myself and my children had the right advise to correct the issue. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This review has not been requested, but I was so impressed by the expertise and honesty of John who came over to check the property. He explained everything that was going on and told me about how the potential rising damp that I was quoted for by another company may have not been accurate. He explained what to do. put my mind at ease and was just generally so helpful as he gave me advice on products that would help me that were cost effective for the potential issue we had.

The owner of the company visited our property very quickly when the mortgage company stated we had damp! This was a worrying time as pervious sale had fallen through. He understood the urgency of him visiting and came the same week he was contacted. When arriving to property he quickly put my mind advising he would find it if we had it. This is my first experience with dampco and I found them very professional. As promised I received a half-hour telephone call as promised. When the person arrived he was very friendly and advised according to my issue. I would certainly use dampco again.

We had someone come out for a woodworm check (sorry can’t remember his name!) on 9th July and he was extremely thorough, fully checked our stairs and surrounding areas and discovered it was in fact a flying ant infestation instead, gave helpful advice and left the place clean and tidy, fixing our carpet again, all free of charge. Brilliant service, would definitely recommend!

Requested a damp and timber report for a period property. John went out the next week and spent a long time investigating the property. Rather than charging us and an arm and leg for a full report, he said it wasn’t warranted because the property was in great condition. A breath of fresh air when it feels like everyone is the building trade tries to squeeze as much out of you as they can these days.

John gave quick and accurate advice to cure my problem of salts coming through my wall. Very pleased with the service, would definitely use again if I have other damp problems

Arranged for a site survey to my property for advice on a room and John explained what my wall treatment would require. He tested the wall for water ingress and found that it was okay and I would just need to apply a suitable base plaster coat and skim to finish. And finally to use an alkaline resistant paint primer prior to redecorating. All this advice was free of charge. Being a 19th century house with solid walls it’s all too common for the need to treat the walls so finally I would not hesitate to use Dampco Leicester

John Middleton (one of the nicest chaps you'd ever wish to meet), came and had a look at our property, and after a thorough investigation, I was relieved to be told that the issue wasn't as bad as I first thought. If i could give Dampco, zero stars I would. They had previously carried out the works on my wife's victorian terrace were professional and provided a guarantee ,after 14 years this DPC failed to we contacted them. John came out gave us a quote,agreed to less some of the cost of for the failure, and we agreed a date 2 months in the future, and a promise to be in and out in a week. The house is a rental so we had to arrange for our tenants to move into another house. Plaster and render was knocked off the walls and fireplaces and cleared in a couple of days,then nothing.happened as his people "were on holiday".Another week lots of phone calls,still noone. John then blamed the Coventry office despite him saying it would be done from his office. Eventully they started the damp proofing and placing the membrane.Again it came to a halt. Plasterers eventually showed up,we were not around so they had a key, did the walls,then plastered the inside of the fireplaces. These should have been render,as we have 2 log burners.We pointed this out to John and he said that they had used "special fire proof plaster". Thinking my wife was an idiot and not someone with 20 odd house renovations under her belt,she pointed out that fire proof plaster finish should be laid over a sand and cement render. So out they came again to knock off the "special plaster",rerendered it. Only problem was that they also removed there DPM membrane to do it.This is 8 weeks later and our tenants sick of being let down on a return to there home have upped and left.We called a meeting with John and his plasterers for 9pm on a Friday to discuss a way forward,we both took time off work.Plasterers arrived at 8.45 John rang at 9.15 to say he was just leaving Leicester.We told him not to bother. Also a damp patch had appeared at the bottom of the fireplace.We were told it wasnt a DPM problem and " it would dry out",and we caught the plasterer trying to dry it with a heat gun,plus they washed out thier buckets on the lawn, and also tipped the plaster down our outside drain.3 months later we thought the nightmare was over. Invoice arrived promptly by first class post with additional visits for the rectification of their mistakes ( i dont think so)....2 days later,via second class post,we recieved a letter from John saying he wouldnt guarantee the fire places despite him agreeing to put everything back as it was ( This had my wife in tears).It was dated before the Invoice but i guess he must have forgotten to post it ( pull the other one it has bells on it)To top this off,still havent got the guarantee and the 'it will dry out" damp on the fireplace got worse.So we decided to chop out the plaster. As per the photo the DPM didnt reach the floor( despite the plasterer saying it did) so it was never going to dry out. All in all a terrible experience,steer clear.

John gave some straightforward advice and did not charge for it, luckily there was no rising damp and nothing major needed- a relief to find someone who didn’t take advantage of a situation which others may have done.

I was recommended Dampco by another tradesman and I was so glad I called them out. John was able to tell me very quickly that the problem was ventilation and nothing else. He also checked the external walls and flat roof and I was also given tips on what to use when redecorating. John did not want payment and just wanted to give honest advice - wow what a gentleman. I forgot to mention he called 30 minutes before arriving, which was really helpful. So refreshing to deal with a company like this. The lady who booked me in was also polite and efficient. Overall a fantastic service - I would highly recommend them if you have any damp issues - you will get honest advice.

Never have I had better customer service, it shows there are good people and good companies out there. I had a diagnosis of needing a damp proof course from a different company/one man band for £850 and I was thinking of going ahead but the I thought I'd get a quote from dampco as the reviews were so good. John Middleton from dampco turned up and told me i definitely didn't need damp proofing and how to get rid of the mold and gave lots of advice on how to save money on heating and how to keep the air in your house healthy to prevent the mould coming back all of this for no charge or benefit to himself what breath of fresh air.

A tenant was concerned about damp in her home. John Middleton from Dampco attended and gave the tenants advice on how to keep condensation down. He amp and told me there wasn't any. What can I say? I asked a local builder for a recommendation and he recommended John. I’d been told I had a failing damp proof membrane by my insurance company (who won’t cover it) and that I should approach a specialist. It took John five minutes to figure out that there was no rising damp, then went on to explain how to deal with the problems with my walls. Left me everything in writing too. And the cost for this advice? Precisely zero. He wouldn’t take a bean. Now that’s what I call amazing service. If only every company were honest and tried not to make a profit from people who simply don’t know. John, your outlook on business is a rare thing and I can’t thank you enough. If I could give less than one, I would. I called John Middleton yesterday his survey last year. I asked if he had noticed that the wall closest to the mould had no filler. He said he didn't do walls and that he looked at the person not the building. I posted this this morning. It appeared then disappeared!

John came with his damp meter and assured us there was no rising damp. This was a relief as we were expecting a big job and a big bill to follow. We are now able to take off the skirting and trim the plaster ourselves.

Utter scammers and scaremongers! Rent to one of our rental properties , started telling them the house is riddled of damp. Now been caught out by various Chartered Builiding Surveyors and proper damp experts. Don't let their big marketing spend on Google AdWords fool you! Also- love to try and charge you a ridiculous cost for work that don't need doing in the first place !!
