We recently decided to tackle some damp in our utility room and hallway. Lee quickly and honestly assessed the issues and provided a very reasonable quote for removing the plaster, injecting the walls, installing membranes and replastering. The team was quick to spring into action, everyone was very friendly and helpful. They even disconnected and removed utilities and a radiator and replaced skirting boards and dado rails. Quality and efficient work from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Abbey Builders did a damp proof course in our house. They did a Professional job and it was a friendly, considerate team to have in the house for a week. There were several stages to the job requiring different professionals which was all well organised and within the agreed time frame. They went out of their way to fix some minor issues at the end, which other companies might not have. Recommended!

Once again Abbey Damp did a fantastic job in our home. We had damp coming through one of the downstairs windows and they had the problem solved in 3 days - plaster removed, installation of damp proof membrane, re-plaster, fitting new skirting boards and an electrician also came out to help us with our plug sockets. We’ve used Abbey Damp before, and once again, they didn’t disappoint. This time, they tackled a full renovation of our new property – rewiring, replumbing, installing a new roof, fixing dry rot, and replacing all the rotten windows. Lee and the team were brilliant throughout, just as they’ve been on previous jobs. They kept us updated, answered all our questions, and really put our minds at ease. Even with such a big job, they left everything clean and tidy every day. The house looks amazing now, and as always, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Abbey Damp.

Abbey did the DPC on the bedroom and kitchen of my bungalow. The guys made every effort to keep the mess to a minimum and were always polite and worked very hard. The job did take 5 days instead of the 2/3 days stated and the communication could have been a little better around this. The standard of finish in the bedroom was excellent, but kitchen had a couple of niggles. An old piece of pipe that was buried in the old plaster ended up on the out side of the new plaster. Again, communication between the guys and with me would have helped here as the the pipe had been cut off below the floorboards and so easily removed. Luckily I did this before the skirting was put on and avoided an untidy finish. So one star off for lack of talking.

Excellent service, really professional. The guys completing the works were fantastic, kept the mess in my house down to a minimum. The end product looks great. Overall I am a happy customer :)

Found some damp in a room after we moved into a house. Spoke to Ray, who headed round and provided a quick & reasonable quote. Work was undertaken over 3 days by some of the most friendly and professional people i've met in the industry. Extremely pleased with the results, and have had no further issues following the fixes. Particular shout-outs to Alan & Carl the damp-proofers, Martin the plasterer, and George the Joiner. House was left clean afterwards, and George was even kind enough to replace our slightly knackered windowsill as part of the package. I would wholeheartedly recommend these guys, and they will certainly be my first port of call for any further issues. A great local company with great people!

We picked Abbey from the internet hoping they would meet our requirements. This they have done. Arriving at scheduled times, covering everything, well mannered workforce working in a methodical manner and tidying up at the end. Property was left clean with carpets vacuumed. Great attention and workmanship for all trades.

We had penetrating damp on the gable end of the house. Lee from Abby came out and quoted for the works required. Once the quote was agreed it did not take long for Abby to start the work. Lee kept us informed of all the work being carried out and provided updates throughout the job. Communication was excellent and all my questions were answered quickly and professionally by Lee. It was a very messy job but the Abbey team made a big effort to keep the work areas as clean as possible. I would have no hesitation in using Abbey again and I would highly recommend them to others. After just buying our first home we felt completely out of our depth with understanding the work required, and finding the right company to fix our damp. I had really bad damp in my front living room so I rang Abbey Damp Proofing Liverpool and Mr Howard Clarkson made an appointment to come and see the damp, they were very professional, told me about the procedure, they checked the moisture levels on the wall. After a few days they came and treated the damp by injecting the affected wall, plastered the wall again and put new skirting boards on. When they finished the job they took all the rubbish with them and clean all the area where they worked. They did an absolutely amazing job and I was very pleased, also they gave 30yrs guarantee. Would highly recommend these guys, so professional and finished the job in 3 days as they said they would. Now the job is complete, I am very pleased with the end result, and would recommend others with damp proof requirements to use Abbey Damp. I recently called out the guys from Abbey Damp to have a look at some mould coming through to one of my interior walls, they came out quickly and advised i needed a damp course which has since been completed to a high standard. Extremely happy with the work carried out and would highly recommend! Great service all round.

I found damp in my living room and after a friend recommended abbey damp to me I give them a call.Lee come out to look at the work that needed to be done lee was very transparent and talked through the stages of what needed to be done and communicated with me daily letting me know when workmen were coming each day. I was extremely happy with the workmen as one of my biggest worries was the mess but the lads sheeted up and put floor protection down everywhere which I couldn't thank enough as I have had some bad experiences in the past with builders mess but these lads are experts at keeping mess to the bare minimum. Just want to say thanks to lee and his team and would definitely recommend abbey damp

Lee from Abbey Building came out to assess and quote for quite an extensive damp problem upstairs in my house. He explained the problem and what has to be undertaken to remedy it, in such a way that even I understood. He quoted a competitive price for the work which I was happy to accept. I was nervous about using a company I have never used before but I need not have been, they were excellent. They showed respect for my property by protecting my furniture and flooring all the way from the front door up the stairs and into the bedrooms. They tackled the damp problem by removing all the plaster, putting in a damp membrane and replastering to a lovely standard. After finishing another member of staff came and cleared all the protective covering away, leaving everywhere neat and tidy. He made sure that I was happy with everything before he left. This company offers an excellent standard of service. I am so happy to have discovered them. They undertake most aspects of building work, which I didn't realise, I will definitely use them again and recommend to my family, friends and neighbours. Thank you Abbey Builders.

Lee came out as arranged to provide a quotation, and thoroughly explained what damp proofing requirements were needed to resolve my issues. Once I confirmed the job, the work was started the following week, again with thorough explanation from Lee as to which skilled workers would be attending, and when to carry out the respective aspects of the work. I was kept informed throughout of any feedback or changes, and all workers were very friendly, helpful and I felt confident in their abilities throughout. This is by the nature of it, a dirty process, however all workers kept all aspects as clean and tidy as possible at all points. I also felt confident to leave the individuals working in my absence in my home, and they left it secure and tidy on leaving. Now the job is complete, I am very pleased with the end result, and would recommend others with damp proof requirements to use Abbey Damp. I would echo the recent review from Louise Wilcocks about the lady on the telephone not wanting to help. Don't bother wasting your time contacting this company if you're buying a house and want to obtain a quote to repair damp that was identified in a survey. They make it abundantly clear that they are not interested in your business.

Didn't even get past the phone call , lady has the worst telephone manor I have ever come across .

Lee from Abbey dampproofing came to my house to look at a damp problem on my interior walls. He arrived promptly looked at all the areas of damp and advised me that it was probably arising from a chimney or roof problem and that It would be if I got a roofer to do some investigation of the exterior of the house. I was very satisfied with his assessment of the problem and understood the reasoning behind it. He was very thorough and polite and I would definitely use this firm again if I needed any work done on damp proofing.

I had some damp proofing from them and all elements of the job were done on time and to a high standard. Could not have been better.

Abbey carried out the work for me quickly and efficiently. Their men were polite and helpful. I would use them again without hesitation.

Lets be honest it's a horrible job to get done but once we found we had damp I called Abbey Damp Proofing Wirral as the had been recommended by a neighbour. Sam came out the next day, explained what needed to happen and they started a week later. They carefully covered all our wooden floors and fire place. Removed radiators, took all the skirting and plaster off and thoroughly cleaned up before the next guy came to drill the holes in the walls. Once treated it was replastered the next day. At every stage they cleaned up after themselves, everyone we dealt with was very polite and professional. A supervisor came every morning to explain what was going to happen that day and answer any questions. Overall I couldn't be happier with the job and highly recommend using Abbey Damp Proofing Wirral.

After having a great experience with Abbey Builders the first time , I then got them to come and have a look at the damp in our living room. - A damp course was needed and they were on hand to answer any questions we had. The work was completed quickly and professionally nothing was any trouble. Amazing service from start to finish! Highly recommend to anyone

I chose Abbey builders based on their glowing reviews and repeated recommendations on various forums, however I have not shared the same 5 star experience as their other customers. First off the positives: 1. Damp work and plastering has been completed to a good standard 2. The lads were all lovely, polite and friendly. Lee kept me informed throughout when the main work was being done 3. They made sure all the furniture and carpets were covered before starting and they all cleaned up after themselves The negatives: Their ability to deal with any trailing activity has been frustrating and disappointing: 1. The plumber didn’t turn up when he was supposed to, to put a radiator back on the wall leaving us without a radiator in our bedroom on one of the coldest weekends of the year 2. The electrician came to fix a socket broken by another of their lads during the initial work. After he left I discovered it still wasn’t working. After waiting in for 4 consecutive days for him to return we gave up, read up on it and fixed it ourselves 3. Despite the work being completed at the end of November, it’s now mid January and I’m still waiting for someone to come and trim our carpets. I expect this is something else I will have to sort myself and will be out of pocket as result as they destroyed the carpet grips pulling back the carpet when they could have been removed in such a way they would be reusable 4. The balance was paid at the beginning of December and despite e-mailing and telephoning I’ve STILL not had an invoice or guarantee

I cannot recommend this company highly enough. All the trades were professional, tidy, pleasant and helpful and quality superb. Their Customer Service is excellent and the work value for money. They went above and beyond in everything they did. Seriously don't go anywhere else. I have more work to be done on the house and its a no brainer.

These guys are spot on, came in a good 10% cheaper than the next lowest price we'd been given and got everything we needed doing absolutely perfect. They always left everywhere spotless when they were done for the day and were some of the friendliest workers I've had round (and we've had so many round 😪). Can't recommended highly enough 10/10

Their website states they offer damp surveys pre-purchase in order to follow up issues highlighted in a homebuyers report. Unfortunately this is not true, they do not offer any service, be it a quote or a survey until the purchase is complete.
