Dower Damp Proofing Ltd

I'm delighted to have the opportunity to share the extremely positive experience I've had using Dower Damp to work on part of the Kitchen last week, where I'd been having problems with damp and lack of insulation. I was impressed with their initial site visit, recommendations and plans of action. Also pleased with all follow up communications. After four days of actual work my Kitchen is well on the way to being transformed, with a wall taken down, redundant toilet removed and walls and ceiling fitted with insulation and expertly plastered to a very high standard. The guys carrying out the work were courteous, efficient and tidy! The costs were reasonable and I can recommend the company unreservedly !

Excellent communication. Comprehensive damp report which detailed what was discussed. Friendly service. Would recommend.

Excellent and speedy service. Would definitely use again and recommend.

Brilliant service from Dower to survey a rental property for damp/mould. This is a lovely and friendly company, Zoe in the office was very polite, professional and helpful in taking the booking and Adrian was very professional in completing the survey. I would throughly recommend.

I was very happy with the work. Gabriel worked really hard and completed the job in a day. He was also very friendly. Would happily recommend the company to others.

Excellent service from Dower, Jack undertook a very thorough and professional survey taking the time to explain what was recommended. Work was needed to stabilise and repoint brickwork, install air bricks and seal an internal joint. We were very pleased with the work done by Adrian and Gabriel which was to a high standard and the work area was left clean and tidy. Great support too from Wendy in the office who acted as a very effective link to us in organising the work. Thank you, we really appreciate the job done

Everything with Dower was dealt with promptly and efficiently. Riley, who treated the wall in question, was very professional and friendly. He explained each step as he went along. Everything was left tidy when he finished and he advised what I needed to do with regards to painting etc once the walls had dried. Would definitely recommend.

I contacted Dower Damp Proofing for advice and guidance with regard to a damp smell in the house that was evident after heavy rain. Jack arrived on schedule and quickly got down to the task of investigating the issue. Fortunately there was no significant remedial work required; Jack took his time to explain why the issue was likely to be occuring and what measures we could take to alleviate the issue in the future. All of his advice was fully documented in the report we received a few days later and which greatly reassured us. Very happy with the service. Thank you.

I engaged Dower Damp Proofing to conduct a survey to identify the source of damp in my Victorian house. Jack arrived promptly and carried out a thorough investigation. He explained clearly what he saw as the causes and described what work he advised without any pressure to commit. I received a detailed report with quote. The work was carried out efficiently and professionally. I prefer to deal with small family firms where possible and in this case I have not been disappointed.

Can't fault the efforts of Jack, Wendy and their team in assisting us with a fairly severe damp problem. We got a comprehensive report of the issues, and whilst it took a few weeks to be completed due the guys being packed with a work (a good sign) the job was done to a high standard. What was also really beneficial was Wendy was able to refer other local contractors to complete the work not covered which gave us the fully finished job!

I am giving 4 stars as this review is based purely on the survey as we have had to delay any work that needs doing however based on the professionalism, friendly manner and thorough survey Adrian did for us, I can only say that I would have no reason to think that Dower Damp Proofing would be any less satisfactory in the quality of their work. Adrian arrived promptly at the arranged time, and was a very pleasant man with a quiet, professional manner. He advised me every step of the way of what was required for him to complete his survey and why; and did a thorough check of all potential problems and causes. He explained how the work required would be carried out, taking the time to make sure that I understood everything before leaving. It was a real pleasure to meet him, especially as we found we had some interests in common! Adrian is a credit to the company. Thank you Adrian for all your help and advice.

Very good,excellent staff

I had Dower Damp Proofing perform a survey for me and the results and the work needed were explained thoroughly. The team that carried out the work were very polite and friendly and very respectful of my home. I was extremely happy with the work and would highly recommend them.

Had some queries with work initially but Jack has since been in contact to rectify. Great piece of work

I really enjoyed using this service here. Their contractors are extremely polite , respectful , insightful & we had a friendly laugh while he was doing the Home survey report at the location I had requested. I will definitely be using your services again in the near future because they are really really good.

We requested a survey from Dower damproofing after a previous attempt to solve our problem had failed due to shoddy work. Jack came round quickly and did the survey, rapidly identifying the solution and proposing a fix in a comprehensive report. This explained all that was to be done and was costed accordingly. Several weeks later the team arrived and set to work, I was confident that everyone knew what they were doing (a relief after the last people), special mention to Riley who went above and beyond and was a pleasure to have around. All works were completed on time and on budget an I would have no hesitation in recommending Dower Damproofing. Derek Slater

We enlisted Dower Damp Proofing to address persistent damp issues in our chimney stacks. The agreed-upon work involved removing all existing (slurry) render, repairing and repointing the stacks, followed by a lime render finish. Despite one chimney being in a particularly bad state, Adrian diligently worked through some extremely hot days replacing countless bricks (sorry!!) and repointing to stay on schedule - a superb work ethic. The final finish, including the lime render and lime wash, was done to a very high standard. We are thrilled with the results and will certainly engage their services again for other parts of the house that require damp treatment.

Top class, highly recommended & knowledgeable on old properties

Very good work. Jack has done a lot of work for my moms bungalow over the past year and it’s in great condition now after suffering from damp. Renovations and improvements have brought it back to life. Many thanks

Emailed a few days before to say couldn’t carry out the job due to staffing. No postponement, no new date. We had other trades booked around them. No phone call no discussion. Completely disrupted the renovation project and put us back months. Can’t get anyone to answer the phone or even discuss logistics so we could mange other trades on site. Just a mail saying sorry can’t help you. Avoid if you like customer service and reliability. Edit, the response below is miss leading as I did reach out several times and no one called me back I received an email today from Jack saying “there is nothing I will be able to resolve on the phone “ in response to my request for a call to work out a resolution. Not sure exactly how I’m supposed to reach out directly as the response suggests. As no helpful email response and no phone call accepted or answered

Fantastic Job from the whole team at Dower Damp Proofing. Jack was able to survey within a couple of days of making contact and put my mind at ease with a thorough inspection and recommendation, followed up by a very professional job from Dave and Riley who took time to understand my questions and walk me through the process. Fairly priced and a job well done. Fully recommend, thank you!

I had Dower perform a survey for some damp issues around my home. They provided a comprehensive and helpful survey report and provided detailed proposals for work needed to remedy the issues. The team that carried out the repairs were very courteous and professional. They completed the work on time and to a high standard, dealing with unforeseen problems revealed beneath the plaster, and left the site clean and tidy. Jack Noon was very helpful throughout and seems like a very honest man to do business with. I would definitely recommend.

Dower Damp Proofing did a very good job for me. They did what we agreed and I was very happy with everything. Would use them again. Cheers.

Jack and his team very easy to deal with from initial contact to completion of work. Prompt and punctual would use again if required.

Dower Damp Proofing Ltd are a reliable and professional company.

Asked Dower to provide a damp report for me, and they excelled in every way. Communication with Jack was easy and clear. He was punctual, helpful, explaining his work freely and utilised up to date technology to detail his findings. Having used other damp specialists previously, I would go to DD every time in the future. Excellent service and a very happy customer! Well done and thanks guys!

Dower damp proofing ltd. have just completed a series of repairs to my Edwardian house. The initial review by Jack Noon was very comprehensive and thorough. The actual repair work was done by David and Riley who were very professional. They were friendly and respectful and worked quickly and efficiently. The re-plastering was really well done. They arrived on time each day and made great efforts to leave the house in a very clean state before they left. I’m very pleased with the work and would highly recommend the company.

Very pleased with all aspects of service from Dower. Scope of work well explained at survey stage; competitive quote; good protection put down before work started; 3 different employees for different aspects of the job (remove radiator; hack off plaster; inject chemical DPC: re-plaster) - all polite, obliging and turned out a good job. Would recommend.

You cannot go wrong with this company! Complete experts at what they do. Friendly, professional and excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

David did a great plastering job for us. He was on time, friendly, polite and cleaned up really well afterwards. Would highly recommend these guys 👍🏼

Having purchased a house in Mablethorpe in October 2022 that we are fully renovating, we originally had jack booked to come out in that month but due to flooding in other areas, he had to cancel. When we got the house, there were what we believed was multiple rising damp or areas with high damp. With Jack rebooked for this monh (February), we made him aware of what state the house was in when we took it over, a few of the things we had done. He gave us some advice on something that was not his trade but we have took that advice on and doing something about what he recomended. As for the damp, Jack carried out a full inspection of the areas and we were made aware that it was condensation and not damp and we have no issues. There was some issue surrounding the coastal flooding repair that was done at some time with a mix of lime render and normal plaster but we had someone in the house that could sort that out but jack did offer. In a way we are happy that there is nothing for is to have any concerns about in the house and in a way gutted for Jack that he got no businees out of us. What we certainly can do and will do is highly recomend him as he has not tried to do work that is not there even though for us, it was a 90 minute trip for him to visit. People like Jack are hard to find who are honest in this day and age and anyone around where we live, we will be recomending them to him.

Great work, fixed our damp issue easily

Very efficient polite and tidy for what was a very disruptive job. Would definitely use them again if required.

Jack and his team did a fantastic job. Clear description of the works needed, prompt quotation time. The lads were very professional and answered any questions I had, they worked tidily (for the type of works needed) and cleared up everything once works had been completed. Plastering looks great and looking forward to being able to paint it soon. Would recommend for any damp related problems.

We had our cellar tanked, and Jack was brilliant. He answered all of our questions, and carried out the work to suit our timeline. Our cellar looks stunning, and we feel very confident and pleased with the finished result.

What a brilliant service from Dower Damp Proofing Ltd. Jack and the team were punctual, clean & tidy and delivered a highly professional job. Our rising damp issue was resolved for a very reasonable price. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Jack provided really useful advice on our efflorescence chimney issue and gave us great options with moving forward with it. Thank you very much for your help.

Quick response to email and arrived at the time he said. Jack clearly knows his stuff and explained very clearly. The work he did was excellent. Very happy to recommend.

Professional friendly service, would recommend!

Jack and the team were very knowledgeable and sorted our damp problem out quickly - would recommend to anyone looking to get the job done properly

Jack is very friendly and professional. He replies to emails in a timely manner and turns up when he says he will. If for any reason something has to change he lets you know in good time. We had damp in a number of walls and a floor. The work was completed to a good standard, on time and at a fair price.

Jack Noon of Dower Damp Proofing Ltd came and fixed an internal wall that had damp rising up to 3 feet. Jack was very professional in his approach, gave us a fair quote for the job to be done, and the work carried out was excellent, we were very pleased with the work done, should we need any other work to be carried out in the future, Jack will be our first port of call.

We had damp-proofing work in two rooms. Walls treated to height of 1 metre. Plaster removed, walls treated, replastered. The work was carried out to spec and on time. The team were efficient and left the area as clean and tidy as was possible with work of this nature. We had no problems.

Easy, friendly contact. Efficient quality service

Very impressed with these guys. Gave some solid advice and very helpful on the day of their visit. Great job.

Great job dealing with our damp issue. Excellent advice re solutions for our Victoria house. Work completed to an excellent standard with care taken to limit mess and good clean up.

Jack and his team carried out some significant works to remedy damp in my property in Gosberton. They also carried out some small building works. Jack was great to work with through out the process . He and his team were friendly, professional and efficient .Everything went like clockwork and he and his team did a quality job . I would use this company again and highly recommend them

Highly professional service, nothing was too much trouble. The project was done quickly and to a high standard. Really pleased with the outcome and service throughout. Would highly recommend.

Treatment of ceilings for woodworm treatment was done very efficiently. It was very unexpectedly we had to organise this during our building works. Jack very kindly managed to fit us in at short notice, so we didn't have to stall the building works.

Very good enquiry response, efficient date agreement and friendly but professional work in dealing with our wood worm problem.

Jack did an incredible job on our house. We scheduled several restoration jobs on our house soon after moving in and Jack's work was by far and away the most straightforward and stress-free (which is saying something when the other major works was mainly redecorating and a new kitchen!) The team turned up on time, did the work as planned and left the room exactly as promised. Jack was great at advising us on what needed doing throughout and when issues arose along the way they weren't a problem. We're so grateful and pleased with the end result and cannot recommend Dower Damp Proofing highly enough. Fantastic work!

Jack undertook a damp problem- the work was done to a high standard with minimal disruption

Jack treated some word worm that was found in a survey. He was a pleasure to deal with and provided a professional and quality service. Recommended

We've used Dower Damp Proofing a couple of times for different things. Jack is very professional and personable. He goes the extra mile to do a good job and is honest and reliable. We cannot fault him.

I contacted Dower Datech to seek a damp and timber survey for a prospective house purchase. I found the firm highly responsive, very generous with their time and exceedingly helpful. They were particularly supportive in arranging the logistics of the survey, working directly with the estate agents. They delivered on time and on budget and both I, and an experienced builder contact who reviewed the document were very impressed by the detail, comprehensiveness and usefulness of the survey. I was hugely impressed by the competence of the firm and would be happy to fully recommend them

After a comprehensive survey from Jack at Dower Datech, work was conducted to rectify our damp and wood worm issues. Jack and his team are reliable, efficient and very polite. Fantastic service. Thank you

Damp proofing and re-plaster. Friendly, accommodating and professional. Even offered to come a day earlier than planned. Great communication, fabulous work. Will be using again. Clean and tidy and happy to go above and beyond. Would highly recommend.

Removal of water damaged floor (T&G deck and insulation) and tanking of the slab. All while keeping the kitchen units in situ! Thanks very much.

Jack came round initially to complete the survey. He was professional and gave honest advice. I had a quote for the work a day later and was booked in to sort out the damp in the wall 2 weeks later. The work was carried out within a day. The team were polite and courteous, especially with me working from home. Great service from start to finish. Thanks very much.

Damp proof membrane on area of damp in the lounge in our old cottage. Now dry and damp gone. Good all round job.

Highly recommend this company. We used them for woodworm treatment in our garage. They were very professional, knowledgeable, tidy and friendly. Excellent service.

Jack came promptly and carried out a thorough survey followed by a comprehensive report and some remedial work. They did a great job and were very clean and tidy workers. I would definintely use Dower Datech again.

Damp proofing I am very pleased with the damp proofing works carried out by Jack and his team. The team went above and beyond, and were very efficient. My only regret is that I did not come across Jack and his team earlier. Thank you.

Many Thanks Jack, Reliable, honest family man. No jargon, No sales pitch. Valuable information supplied as requested. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or utilise Dower-Datech services in the future. Suzanne Harrison

Jack and his team were professional, performed work to a high standard and we’re efficient and tidy throughout, despite a messy job! Would highly recommend.

Jack from Dower Datech treated my period property in Spalding for significant damp issues this summer. He and his team were totally reliable, efficient and followed through on their professional commitments. I also found DD particular well priced compared with a national franchise I another quote from which was massively higher. Jack is a fair & decent chap and I felt lucky to have found him just when I was in real trouble with my property development plans. He massively helped me out & didn’t take advantage of my situation. Would 💯 recommend.

These boys came saw and sorted! Completely renovated and resealed a wall with a damp proof membrane and I returned as they finished and other than the bare plaster you wouldn’t know they’d been! They took care of everything and gave straight forward assessment and advice. I couldn’t have asked for anything more of them. Nothing short of first class.

Dower Datech very recently put a dampproof course into my dining area along with repairing and treating a very damp wall in my bathroom. They were polite, efficient and incredibly hardworking always arriving on time and clearing up before leaving my home. Any queries I had were addressed quickly and readily. I would recommend this company to anyone needing their skills and would not hesitate to use them again.

Excellent. We used Dower Datech for woodworm treatment and could not fault the service offered. Professional and friendly, they inspected the house thoroughly, informing us of areas that required treatment and then treated these in a timely and professional manner. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Jack was very responsive and gave us some great advice after his first visit. The subsequent work was done very professionally and at very short notice to accommodate our timescales. Highly recommended.

Contacted Jack to review a damp problem in our downstairs front bedroom after seeing good reviews for his business. Jack attended within a few days and diagnosed the problem, this being a recently fitted full length window which had breached the existing damp proof course. Remedial work was carried out a few weeks later and completed within one day, hopefully our damp issues are now solved. Excellent communication from start to finish and work was carried out in a friendly/professional manner.

Jack and his team at Dower Datech Ltd are professional and reliable. They completed our work exactly as expected, with no problems. We wouldn’t hesitate to work with Jack and his team the future.

Great service. Friendly and punctual too. Very professional, well explained, and they left the place clean & tidy. I would definitely use them again, but they did such a good job, I don't anticipate the need to!

The damp problem was fixed over 3 days, was a good price and done efficiently. Both Jack & Michael were very pleasant, worked hard and cleaned up. I am very happy with the result.

For years the cottage has suffered with damp issues. Jack from Dower Datech Ltd provided a very competitive quote. I am pleased that we went with Jack's quote, as this was backed up with a professional job and his team is a credit especially Mick (great character)... I would have no hesitation in recommending these guys - they took time to listen, explain and nothing was too much trouble. A grand job - thank you!!

Jack and Dower Datech provided a great damp proofing service. Jack turned up on time and was able to diagnose the damp issue we had and was able to propose a solution at a very reasonable price. The work was booked in once I accepted the quote. On the day the work was planned the workman turned up on time as expected and was fully briefed on what he needed to do. The workman was really friendly and provided a great service allowing us to get our new carpet fitted the following day.

Recently helped me resolve a damp issue in a rental property. The quote was competitive and the team worked closely with the letting agent as I was out of the country at the time. Job was completed quickly and professionally. A great service - thanks

Friendly, professional service. Turned up when they said, the team did a great job and no issues, problems or concerns. What's not to like. A++

Very competitive Quotation, competent, great job.

Excellent Service, very good communication would highly recommend Dower Datech for anybody with damp problems

Rang them - they came out the same day and did a thorough survey. Explained everything in detail and showed us their readings. Small areas of damp were found that needed rectifying. We had a second opinion and spoke to locals who knew of their work. All were complimentary and their estimate was very competitive. They carried out the work over 3 days and left the cottage in an immaculate condition. They explained and showed us what they were doing throughout the procedure. We would recommend very highly. Jack and his team could not have been more professional. Very pleased.

We have had a persistent damp problem for a long time. We received lots of different advice and quotes varied enormously. We decided to work with Dower Datech because they were recommended by a neighbour, and they seemed to offer sensible advice, working within our budget. The work was faultless, we returned each day to a clean kitchen, where they spotted potential problems they called me to discuss options. I have no hesitation in recommending them very highly. I feel fortunate to have found them!
