I recently had the pleasure of working with David and the team at Perma Fix Ltd to address damp issues in my property, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the results. From the initial consultation through to completion, David demonstrated a high level of professionalism, knowledge, and dedication to quality workmanship. He provided a clear and detailed assessment of the problem, offering practical solutions without unnecessary upselling. The work was carried out efficiently and to a very high standard, with minimal disruption and the area left clean and tidy upon completion. Communication throughout the process was excellent—David kept me informed at every stage, answered all my questions promptly, and made sure I was comfortable with the progress being made. Thanks to David and Perma Fix Ltd, the damp issue has been fully resolved and the property is now dry and protected. Cannot recommend highly enough! When we moved into a house and saw the damp, David was very quick to come round, quote and set his team to work. Paul, Alan, Colin and the whole team were experienced, knowledgeable, extremely professional and did a fantastic job. They cleaned up every day, were respectful of the house and very polite. I am almost a little disappointed at the 10 year guarantee, as it means I won't have the opportunity to see this team again! Great work, great communication, great team. Thank you.

We had a large damp patch we discovered when we moved in, the response from this company was quick and although it took a while to book in a slot for the work to be done communication throughout was great The workmen were lovely and communicated well what they were doing and the job itself was completed well and the plaster looks better than it was before Unfortunately we did discover a layer of dust had been kicked up over everything in the room and adjacent living room other than the shoe rack that had been covered, as well as streaks on the floor of the room itself that we then cleaned up ourselves, although when this was mentioned to the company they offered to send people round to clean Overall a positive experience and would be happy to use again

We have used David and his teams for various jobs over the last few years, including damp and plaster work. David is always responsive and quick to look at the job and quote. He has always booked us in as quickly as possible and the work has always been finished promptly and to a great standard. Highly recommend.

The work was efficient and very well done. The workers were pleasant and showed respect to the property on the first day of work. The plasterer left a bit of mess behind and there was some confusion about what was left to be completed, but the team was very helpful and did come back to double check the work and to support with the tidying. They have been very understanding of circumstances and very adaptable with regards to payment. Would recommend.

The workmen did a fantastic job of my wall. They were very nice people who did a professional job and stayed on site until the work was completed. I was disappointed with the communications with Permafix as originally I had booked the work on Friday the 8th of November to be done on Thursday the 28th. I made arrangements to be at the property. I phoned David on Wednesday the 27th to confirm the work was still going ahead and was told that they can't do it and I would have to rebook in another 2 weeks time. It would have been nice if they had let me know rather than wait for me to call and ask. The work was finally done on the 12th of December, although I was told they will arrive by half past 8 and they were late. Again no call from Permafix until I phoned David to make sure they were still coming. I would consider using Permafix again in they future, but I would prepare myself for poor communications and make regular checks with them ahead of my appointment.

I can not rate this company highly enough. Trustworthy and professional from the very start. Their knowledge and experience stood out from the start also. The survey was thorough, they fit me in to their diary without any problems, came when they promised and always on time. Colin and Marshall were always polite and friendly, They did an excellent job with the work they did throughout my house. And will definitely be using Permafix again when I get around to the kitchen. The standard to which they cleaned up and finished the job was well above my expectations. Thank you very much

We have used David and his team many times now and we’ve always been so pleased with the quality of the work, the organisation of the schedules, the project management and the overall professionalism and friendliness of all involved. Our recent work was damp proofing our living room, but we’ve had multiple other things such as our whole basement being tanked which was a big job and needed effective communication between multiple tradesmen and it was carried out meticulously. Damp-proofing work! This team knows their stuff! Excellent at identifying the real source of the problem (often difficult when it comes to water issues), have the right equipment for diagnosis, and a practical, economical approach to solving the problem. From initial site visit to assess the issue through to formulating a plan, I found their honesty and professionalism second to none. Very courteous and knowledgable. Would certainly use again and highly recommend.

We contacted Permafix due to rising damp and I have nothing but praise for the whole team. They came and did a thorough inspection of our property including looking outside at brick work and at floor joists to get a good look at the problem. This is in contrast to other companies that quoted us more than double the price after looking at the wall for 2 seconds. Work was scheduled for a few weeks after the inspection but I was contacted a few days later to see if I could have the work done sooner which was excellent. The team that carried out the work were prompt, friendly and professional. They found wood worm whilst replacing a joist and gave me the option to have this treated which we chose to do. They kindly replaced the floor boards that were too affected during the visit. And finally, the staff in the end of phone that we have had to speak to to organise the inspection and payment were incredibly helpful and always gets back to you promptly. Thank you to the whole team.

David and his team have been wonderful. The previous owner had laid a patio over an existing one... compromising the damp proof course on the side of the house and even causing surface water run-off into the air bricks. David gave me options on what remedial work could be carried out. Additionally allowed me to add works to the scope very late notice when another issue was found that needed fixing. Team were very friendly and efficient. I was especially impressed with how tidy they were in cleaning up each day before leaving. A great job at a very reasonable price.

I urgently needed an inspection for possible rising damp prior to scheduled work already in place. I rang permafix and spoke to Debbie who was really friendly and very helpful and professional. Appreciating my dilemma, David visited the next day and carried out an inspection. Again all extremely friendly and professional and explained his opinion on work needed. He was non pushy, gave me advice and left me to make some decisions. I called back the next day and happily agreed to the work being done . David was happy to jiggle things around to meet my short time frame and amazingly carried out the work the following day with his team. The team were friendly, competent, professional in the work they did, kept the work space tidy and did an amazing job. The team fitted air bricks for me at the front and back of my property. Attended on time, did a good job and cleaned up afterwards. Very polite and reasonably priced.

Amazing Service from a highly professional team. Damp repair works were completed to a very high standard and ahead of time with the property left in an immaculate condition on completion. Additionally, the quote for the works was highly competitive and better value than other companies that quoted. I can't recommend PermaFix Ltd enough for any damp issues you might have.

Perma-Fix Ltd, whose Director is David Cole, damaged our property, invoiced for work that was not done and invoiced for work that he was specifically told not to undertake. We took him to Court and the judgement on 20 May,2021 (claim number G9QZ9C6Z) was that: 1. Cole damaged our property and the Judge stated he would have ordered him to make good the damage if the new owner had not already done so. 2. He was ordered to repay the money that he had been paid for work that had not been done. 3. His counterclaim for his invoice for work that he had been specifically told not to do was thrown out. Cole chose not to appeal and ignored the Court Order to pay the money, so a further Court Hearing was required on 29 October,2021, at which his bank was told to pay us direct. Our money was finally recovered after twelve months when his bank repaid us on 29 November,2021. We would not recommend someone who behaved like a cowboy builder.
