James is an excellent carpenter. We needed architraves and new skirting fitted in our hallway and living room. We also had two new doors fitted and a custom loft hatch made and fitted. The work has been completed to a very high standard. What we loved most is that James always took the time to clean up after each day, leaving the space clean and tidy
James fitted us 4 new oak veneer doors upstairs in our house. The quality of the work he’s carried out is of a very high standard indeed, he has a very particular attention to detail, he is reasonably priced and extremely tidy…as well as being a really nice guy that we felt happy to leave alone in our house whilst we were out. If I could give 10 stars I would. Highly recommended 👌🏻
Colchester carpenters were great. James fitted our glass banisters, paneling and dado rail. He was extremely professional. He made good our existing banisters because he had a lot of pride in the work he does. I highly recommend him.

James did an incredible job on a number of doors, door frames, locks, bannister, skirting and architraves. Top quality, thoroughly recommend. Only regret was not getting his advice before buying some of the materials myself.
James was recommended to me by a friend and I was delighted to find that he lived up to his great reviews. James not only completed refurbishing work that was needed in my kitchen, but he also happily returned to do other jobs including putting up a bathroom cabinet and installing a sign on the outside of the house. James was able to source and install some new kitchen cabinet doors which are almost identical to the existing ones that are 26 years old. James is very reliable with excellent communication skills. I thoroughly recommend Colchester Carpenters.
Very impressed with the quality of work. From minor repairs to more complex tasks, everything was handled efficiently and professionally. Communication was great, and they made sure I was satisfied before leaving. It’s hard to find trustworthy handyman services, but this one truly stands out!
James showed up on time and worked hard all day. He made a spectacular job of our skirting with no 2 walls having the same angles, let alone right angles! He was friendly, efficient and went out of his way to create as little dust as he could when he knew I had a lung condition. I would highly recommend James and his carpentry. 10/10

Our carpenter James fitted some new kitchen worktops for us. Friendly and very professional, he certainly knows his stuff and all was installed to a very high standard. Definitely recommended.
James has just replaced all our internal doors; the house is old, so it wasn't an easy job. His advice from the outset when he visited us was very helpful. His friendly and professional approach is commendable, and his attention to detail was consitently very good. Clear communicator on cost and when he'd work; turning up as agreed.

After years of debating shall I shan’t I, I have decided to put a door on my en-suite bathroom, James was very professional and gave me a quote that I was happy with, even though this was a very small job he treated me the same as a job that cost thousands He was very considerate came and did the work on Saturday so it didn’t disrupt my work, The standard of his work was brilliant and he was very pleasant to speak with I will definitely use James again and recommend him to my family and friends
I would give 6 stars if I could, James was very professional, a perfectionist with what he does, I felt he went above and beyond to install my internal doors and handles as well as oiling the doors too, ontop of that he seemed like an all round great guy, I would highly recommend, very very pleased with the work he’s done for me :)

I recently had James carry out a new kitchen install on my property, and I couldn't be happier with the results. James was professional, punctual, and incredibly knowledgeable about his craft. James supplied and installed 2 sets of external French wooden doors. Very high quality work, knowledgeable and diligent with lots of attention to detail. Provided advice and support throughout the project and always cleaned up after himself. Would highly recommend.
James did superb work on the two jobs I wanted - loft ladders in quite an awkward and narrow space, and a nice understairs cupboard. Both jobs were done to a really high standard. Very tidy and considerate workmanship. I would 100% recommend James and use him again without hestitation!
We can’t fault James from Colchester Carpenters in any way. He was professional and helpful. His communication was excellent - calling when he said he would and always keeping us informed as the project progressed. The quality of the work was beyond what we expected. I had James come do me a quote on refurbishment my staircase with oak cladding and fitting some door liners and door . Since then I've not been able to get a quote and not answering phone to me . Seems to be the same with all the trades recently. Shame as seemed a nice guy and knowledgeable.

James was professional, punctual, and is a very likeable person. We are delighted with the oak external door that he has supplied and fitted. James has done an absolutely outstanding job for us in our home. His work is of exceptional standard. He has transformed our home hanging 19 oak doors and furniture, replaced skirtings and installed a beautiful oak handrail. James has just completed the installation of 13 internal oak doors for us. We are delighted with both the process and the outcome. He is very punctual, tidy and he listened to what we wanted, making changes as required. Highly recommended!
James has just finished our fabulous new oak and glass balustrade stairway. We are thrilled with it and absolutely love it! James has also fitted 12 oak doors and a pair of half glazed oak doors with superb craftmanship, finishing off our entrance hallway. James is always on time and cleans and tidys up at the end of each day. I highly recommend James, he is a lovely bloke and very experienced. All jobs have been finished to the most highest quality!

We have used James several times over the past 18 months - oak kitchen worktops, oak skirting and finishing of oak flooring and fitting of a new oak door. Superb workmanship and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. We have him booked for next year (he doesn't know it yet) to finish off the oak skirting in the next part of our cottage renovation!
James recently built a “floating” bed in my sons small box room to free up floor space. The bed is fantastically built and very sturdy. James was on time, hard working and tidy. We couldn’t have asked for anymore and are very happy with the work.
