Colchester Carpenters

James was recommended to me by a friend and I was delighted to find that he lived up to his great reviews. James not only completed refurbishing work that was needed in my kitchen, but he also happily returned to do other jobs including putting up a bathroom cabinet and installing a sign on the outside of the house. James was able to source and install some new kitchen cabinet doors which are almost identical to the existing ones that are 26 years old. James is very reliable with excellent communication skills. I thoroughly recommend Colchester Carpenters.

Very impressed with the quality of work. From minor repairs to more complex tasks, everything was handled efficiently and professionally. Communication was great, and they made sure I was satisfied before leaving. It’s hard to find trustworthy handyman services, but this one truly stands out!

James showed up on time and worked hard all day. He made a spectacular job of our skirting with no 2 walls having the same angles, let alone right angles! He was friendly, efficient and went out of his way to create as little dust as he could when he knew I had a lung condition. I would highly recommend James and his carpentry. 10/10

James did a fantastic job installing all of our internal locks, as well as saving us money with a better idea to help a door close properly. Highly recommend, very professional and went above and beyond. Thanks James

Great service and i got exactly what i asked for. Perfect.

Our carpenter James fitted some new kitchen worktops for us. Friendly and very professional, he certainly knows his stuff and all was installed to a very high standard. Definitely recommended.

James has just replaced all our internal doors; the house is old, so it wasn't an easy job. His advice from the outset when he visited us was very helpful. His friendly and professional approach is commendable, and his attention to detail was consitently very good. Clear communicator on cost and when he'd work; turning up as agreed.

James carried out an excellent job for us, installing two bath panels expertly. His work is neat and tidy and he is a pleasure to have around. Many thanks James!

After years of debating shall I shan’t I, I have decided to put a door on my en-suite bathroom, James was very professional and gave me a quote that I was happy with, even though this was a very small job he treated me the same as a job that cost thousands He was very considerate came and did the work on Saturday so it didn’t disrupt my work, The standard of his work was brilliant and he was very pleasant to speak with I will definitely use James again and recommend him to my family and friends

I would give 6 stars if I could, James was very professional, a perfectionist with what he does, I felt he went above and beyond to install my internal doors and handles as well as oiling the doors too, ontop of that he seemed like an all round great guy, I would highly recommend, very very pleased with the work he’s done for me :)

James supplied and installed 2 sets of external French wooden doors. Very high quality work, knowledgeable and diligent with lots of attention to detail. Provided advice and support throughout the project and always cleaned up after himself. Would highly recommend.

James did superb work on the two jobs I wanted - loft ladders in quite an awkward and narrow space, and a nice understairs cupboard. Both jobs were done to a really high standard. Very tidy and considerate workmanship. I would 100% recommend James and use him again without hestitation!

James fitted a super new stair rail.

We can’t fault James from Colchester Carpenters in any way. He was professional and helpful. His communication was excellent - calling when he said he would and always keeping us informed as the project progressed. The quality of the work was beyond what we expected. Perhaps best of all he was remarkably cheerful and polite - something which goes a long way with us. We’ll definitely use him again the future

James recently came and replaced all our internal doors. He's done an amazing job and we couldn't be happier with the result.

I had James come do me a quote on refurbishment my staircase with oak cladding and fitting some door liners and door . Since then I've not been able to get a quote and not answering phone to me . Seems to be the same with all the trades recently. Shame as seemed a nice guy and knowledgeable.

James did a wonderful job hanging our internal door. Polite, courteous and helpful. Would highly recommend and certainly will have James do any carpentry in the future. Thanks James 😊

Thank you James for the ramp you made for Dad, we have used already. It's incredibly sturdy and looks great, it does not take over the front. I would recommend James he is professional, friendly, punctual and provides excellent workmanship.

James has also fitted 12 oak doors and a pair of half glazed oak doors with superb craftmanship, finishing off our entrance hallway. James is always on time and cleans and tidys up at the end of each day. I highly recommend James, he is a lovely bloke and very experienced. All jobs have been finished to the most highest quality!

So pleasedwith the workmanship and such a lovely chap, would highly recommend

We have used James several times over the past 18 months - oak kitchen worktops, oak skirting and finishing of oak flooring and fitting of a new oak door. Superb workmanship and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. We have him booked for next year (he doesn't know it yet) to finish off the oak skirting in the next part of our cottage renovation!

James recently built a “floating” bed in my sons small box room to free up floor space. The bed is fantastically built and very sturdy. James was on time, hard working and tidy. We couldn’t have asked for anymore and are very happy with the work.
